edit: title should be "bug with revives and multi-target moves in double battles" but i had a brain fart and i can't edit titles

other edit: if a mod would move this to the bug reporting forum that would be lovely sorry

thanks for moving it solace :)

Scenario: Last pokemon Gallade vs last pokemon Ninetales (charlotte battle)

I use max revive on Ciele the Arcanine

Ninetales uses heat wave

Gallade is koed

Arcanine takes damage from heat wave as if it is the second pokemon out despite not having been sent out, and its sprite is glitched (it shows at the bottom of the screen briefly and then disappears)

Arcanine uses Outrage, its sprite still hasn't loaded

Arcanine wins the battle

[this is the point where i started taking screenshots]

no arcanine sprite is visible despite the fact that it's in battle using attacks

I won the battle so the issue is just that my pokemon got sent out in the middle of the turn, and that the sprite wasn't displayed.

I'm pretty sure this occurred because whenever you use a Revive/Max Revive/Cotton Candy on a fainted Pokémon in the middle of a double battle, it automatically sends out the revived Pokémon immediately (instead of prompting you to send it out), leading to this visual glitch. No real harm is done, it's just funny to see an invisible Arcanine winning for you. :]

Yea except it should send it out at the end of the turn. It's just that the events happen out of order leading to me tanking an extra attack.

Actually in the main series items have highest priority, i.e. Their effects will occur before move effects. So in the main games if you were to max revive your mon into an enemy +6 Brave Bird it would probably faint again. In other words, your mon tanking an additional hit is supposed to happen.
