Kyuuna 0
I do not yet have screenies to share of this phenomenon *mostly because the animation is a lil quicker than me and the first couple times I thought I was seeing things*. But, the fact is for reasons unknown anything that should LOWER my Snivy's Attack or Defense UPs it instead. Ordinarily this would be AWESOME like the Explosions the ever so cheery Electric gym leader so adores. But I want to be fair and win without the extra boost this unfairly provides...even if all I'm beating up on is CPU pixels. Edit: I do not yet know if any other things that would affect Speed or the other stats are doing the same I just noted it most consistently with attack and defense, anything not my starter is affected as they should be. AuthorReborn 8
Ah, yeah okay, you seem to have missed the vital fact that causes people to ADORE the Snivy line: its Hidden Ability. Snivy's HA is a lovely one called "Contrary" which reverses stat changes, which people abuse using the move Leaf Storm to boost Special Attack to insane levels. But yes, your Snivy is entirely fine. Don't worry about it. No bug here. EDIT: Also, I see this is your first post! I would suggest introducing yourself in the Grand Hall section and reading the forum rules! Have a good one and remember to leave your sanity at the door!
Raindrop Valkyrie 118
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Contrary_(Ability) For reference. But yes, any stat change on a Pokemon with Contrary is flipped. Even those caused by itself. ((like Leaf Storm as mentioned above, it will raise SpAtk by 2 stages rather than Lower it by 2.)). It is a rather rare ability as only 4 evolution lines get access to it, and many of them only get it as a Hidden Ability, so I am not surprised you didn't know about it. Raindrop Valkyrie 118
Eh no problem. It is a pretty rare ability and it is only really seen competitively on like... maybe 2 of the Pokemon that get it. So it is understandable that you haven't encountered it, especially when it really just isn't in the main series games. I completely get it was something that just didn't click for ya lol. So, hope you enjoy Reborn, people here will be glad to help if anything else comes up I am sure of it, don't be afraid to post or ask.
