While trying to max out my dex, I found that when I put to sleep a Minccino its chesto berry did not activate (later found it was being held still) . Possible bug that wild pokemon held items aren't activated? Or perhaps just berries...

Additional info:

Happened in Azurine Island

Used the move yawn to put it to sleep

I felt this happened to me in the battle against PULSE Abra. I equipped my team with Colbur berries to resist the Dark Pulse, but it still OHKO'd them all.
Considering I had a Dragalge with great Sp. Def, I would have thought it would at least survive, but no.
Nor was there any animation of using the berries.

There still is no animation, but either Kuro or I implemented messages for Type berries when they come into effect for the next update. As for Pulse Abra, it's SpA is base 250 IIRC.

I'd like to know more about the OP's specific situation. I can't see any immediate reason why it wouldn't work. Did it wake up at the end of the turn it was put to sleep?

True, but my entire team was still holding the berries, even after being knocked out/ healed at the pokemon center. Which is why I thought that the berries weren't working/ there was a bug.

No it didn't wake up at all. It just kept sleeping like normal. After putting to sleep just hurled 1 or 2 balls and caught.

Not just yet, I haven't tried to replicate it yet, I'll do this evening, but I have never seen anything like this before. If I can't replicate it, I'm not going to worry about it too much.

Yawn is helpful info to know. Anything and everything else you can tell me like the pokemon that used yawn and it's ability and anything else you can give me to help narrow things down.

Adamant Chingling used yawn. ability is levitate. Impish Zangoose used false swipe, ability is immunity. Trace Gardevoir did nothing but was holding miracle seed (serious nature). The Minccinno caught was a level 28 bold Skill Link pokemon. It was holding a chesto berry after the battle even though I put it to sleep (and caught it while sleeping). Only other info I can think of is that I caught it in the first patch of grass in front of the boat in Azurine Island. Also I've done EP14 so maybe I'm in a place I "shouldn't be" (no way to return to Reborn City in game at the moment).

Good luck. This is just a minor bug and I can't see it become problematic in any way, so don't worry too much about it.
