[Known]Frame Rate/ Slow-ness

A-Square

Recommended Posts

Hey, new around here, but I've encountered something just mildly inconveniences: some frame rate issues and slowed-down timings. I'm not usually a stickler for these sort of things, but a lot of times, I overshoot distances, I have to wait way too long to start battles, and some inputs (like moving and confirming) sometimes don't work. is this an accepted thing? Is my computer slow, or the game? Any help is appreciated! (BTW, I have Version 14)

Welcome to the forums A-Square. Make sure to read the Community Rules and possibly do an introductory thread in the Grand Hall if you're up for it.

Anyways, which area(s) are you suffering the frame rate drops? Certain areas are known to have this issue so it might not just be your computer.

There's generally some strong lag when there's wheather or lots of events in a certain place.
Also, if you click out of the Reborn Window, ie you Alt+Tab out, the game will pause but the music keeps going.

More or less from the start of the game until now in the Beryl Ward have I been encountering frame rate issues; also, the FR stutters a lot as sometimes it's fast while sometimes it's not (but mostly it's slow)

honestly, game is laggy as hell. yea. if it wasnt such an amazing game i would have stopped playing it already .-. well, honestly what i found out is this:
when you get the bike, use it. aways. it reduces the lag alot. at less it does for me.

certain areas do lag, no matter what you do. so if you do is suffering to much... save the game, then close it, and open it again. sometimes the game even warns you its taking to long to answer, offers you to save, and restarts. this can be an annoyance when youre in middle of battles. so save often.

an last... just avoid laggy areas. wont spoil it to you, but... peridot lags alot to me on certain points. so i take less-lagy roads and go there only when need.

well thats it. hope i helped why not

Pretty much why i like the caves one in reborn more than the wards. Caves have like no lag and it's so good.

Yep. Indoor areas are so much less laggy than outdoor areas, especially Rhodochrine Jungle. The other areas aren't that laggy, but I'm only up to Shade in my most recent play, so I don't know how bad it is.

The bike definitely makes travelling faster, I was so happy when I finally got it. Especially when it's windy; that's my bane.

What usually happens to me is that I move, then while pressing the arrow suddenly stop, and then after a minute I move again without pressing the arrows. It's kinda annoying, but it's not too often, thankfully.

Generally speaking, when you transition from one area to another, the game will lag and cause some frames to skip. This also tends to happen (to me at least) when I mount my bike or when the BGM changes when crossing over from one area to another area.

For instance, going from Lower Peridot Ward to Peridot Ward causes a 2-4 second lag, due to the game having to load the music, since both areas have different music now.

Yeah, I think it's an issue with bad programming? At least in the sense of not being efficient or to much stuff going on.

Buy at least the game's good so we can bear through it until it's completed and they can go back and refine it more.

It's not so much that the game was badly programmed, but more that the engine the game runs off cannot handle many events in the same place. Not sure if this is going to be "fixed" anytime soon. (It's probably the amount of moving sprites the engine can't handle.)

Inefficient programming then, I dunno. I'm not a programmer.

Anyone who can get something working has my respect.

I hope they get better stuff to work with though, I would love to see the game looking as good as it is.
