Cloud Nine conflicting with Natural Weather Effects

I was battling a Swablu in the north part of Opal Ward (because some trainer battles were reset) and it happened to have Cloud Nine. That canceled the effects of weather on the field, which is to be expected. The possible error comes with the conflict between Swablu's Cloud Nine and the sun effect due to Reborn's forecast. Despite that, the sprite of the sun's rays still appeared between turns. It's just a visual bug, so there are no effects besides the sprite showing up.

I'm not sure that it's simply a visual bug. It's raining today, so I threw out an Altaria with cloud nine. The visual rain persisted, even after it said that it was cancelled. Next I threw out a Ninetales and it created a rainbow, so it does appear to be a functional bug. I haven't tried cancelling it and, for example, sending out a rain dish Ludicolo to see if the rain functionality is totally gone or not (not that cloud nine matters to 90+% of trainers, but I happen to use it for reasons).

EDIT: Of course, I don't have 14.5 so it may be a moot point =/

Seems like someone who was testing something in the essentials update to the most recent version (Not us I presume) took off the messages like "Rain continues to fall" for weather effects to speed up testing processes, by making their functionality comments instead of actual code and forgot to put it back. It's been fixed.

As for the visual thing, it seems that the effects of the weather are all gone. It still shows/displays the weather as there, and in the event of Sunny Day or Rain being used for the other half to make the Rainbow field effect, that will still work, but things such as Synthesis and Solarbeam still work as intended.

Those messages were removed by Essentials default to speed up the end of round process. Since the animations play, I thought that was fine.

Were they? I mean, the rain is hard to see a lot of the time IMO. The others are understandable.

Agreed. We'll get a new animation for it eventually though, or we should.

Players, would you rather us leave in the message until the animation is done, or take it out despite the hard-to-see animation to speed stuff up?

I've never had a problem with knowing what the weather is, but even if I did I don't know that it would affect my move selection /too/ terribly much. So in either case, I'd prefer to have it out for speediness since things like weather damage and leech seed and burn/poison and DOT moves already take up plenty of time, not even factoring in the field effect messages (which I do love by the way, even if it can get silly like:)

"Mukae is confused!

Mukae used Nature Power!
Nature Power turned into Gear Grind!
Mukae is confused!
Mukae used Gear Grind!
ATTACK SEQUENCE INITIATE
*attacks*
A critical hit!
ATTACK SEQUENCE INITIATE
*attacks*
It's super effective!
Hit 2 times!"

As a rain user I like to see the message despite making the attack sequence slower (taking my time reminds me to count to 8 turns). However, I'm so impressed with this game that it doesn't matter that much to me. Whatever the majority wants =)

Is it possible to have this option in-game to turn the flavor text on and off (e.g. with "Text Speed", "Battle Scene", etc. implement "Battle Flavor Text")? I'm obviously not familiar with the code, but is it as simple as creating a logical variable LFLAVOR?

It's not -difficult- but it would take a significant amount of time, and something like that I feel is better suited to doing after we've got the battle system in one piece.
