Odd things you used to think

I have a lot of these but I'm blanking right now

uhh..

I used to think that buses stop at every stop and that the stop button is for emergencies

I used to think cartoons and T.V. were real

I used to think people could see my thoughts so I was always very nervous around people in case I thought the wrong thing >->

I also used to think inanimate objects could feel and even now I don't like the thought of "hurting" them

I thought running like lucario in brawl was cool, basically naruto running but I didn't watch naruto so that's where I got it

im an artist (yes obviously) and when i was a kid i used to not want to color because i thought every colored pencil had feelings and was hurt/offended when i used them more than others

when i was a kid i thought i could use superpowers if i wanted to, and i would act like i was sparing people when I didnt but i was upset with them. "you're lucky I'm not evil otherwise it'd be over for you"

Following that same vein, I used to think I had the Kamehameha and would fire them around my neighborhood sometimes, and one time I got into a fight with someone at the end of 8th grade and said "i didnt fight you because I didnt want to send you to the hospital"

"why?" he asked, obviously taunting me

to which I said if I punched him I would knock him about 50 feet back. and in a right angle.

clearly I was on some other shit.

i used to think I could literally go to the digital world when I was a kid. I used to stay up at night and wait for my d-6 or whatever model it would have been by then. i watched a lot of digimon. through my television of course, i didn't have a personal computer.

also i used to think that mustaches grew out of your nose. this was helped along by my dad, bc he's an asthma...tic??? hes got asthma so he breathes heavy when he sleeps. i also thought that people with mustaches could only breathe barely, but controlled it in public so people wouldn't be annoyed. one day, after my dad had clean shaved for some reason, I patted him on the back and said "good for you! im glad you can breathe easier now."

after i explained to him my thought process he laughed for like 4-5 minutes

I thought of another one, I used to think that everyone might be a robot made to keep me entertained, I got this idea from watching the trueman show and thought that they showed me the movie to keep me off their trail

ANOTHER super weird one is that when you start praying and you do the cross jam that if you did that you were basically turning a microphone on and that when you do it again you turn it off so after a while I lost track of whether I was in "prayer" mode or not so I was alwys paranoid that "he" was listening >->

I used to pronounce niche as "nee-shay". In fact Smogon was the first place I learnt the damn word. Then someone corrected me after how many years and I lol'd at myself for not double checking.

I have no idea how it's pronounced because I've never heard it spoken. I've only seen it used in competitive battling terms like "this Pokemon has a niche in this tier at doing this thing".

UK pronounce it as "neesh", whereas the US have a slight distinct t in the word, like, "nitch".

Also, this was back when I was like, 3, but I used to think the round pointy structure of a mosque was a giant onion (and it technically still looks like one).

When that rogue Malik Kafur, general of Allauddin Khilji, invaded South India in about 1310 AD and for the first time brought parts of the south under the Islamic Delhi Sultanates' rule, he sacked a lot of Kakatiya and Hoysala temples. So I believe there's a tale about these temples taking to incorporating the dome in their architecture, especially at entrances, so the invader would think them to be mosques and leave them alone.

When I heard that story the first time as a very small kid I always thought the dome was like a magic bubble or forcefield or something.

The first thing I think of regarding this topic is my change in tastes over the years. As a kid I didn't like pickles, peaches and sushi, but I've recently grown to like these. Some things don't change, like my distaste of tomatoes.

I used to think time actually slowed down as you watched a clock

I used to think my entire life was already over and I was just looking back on it as a spirit

I used to think skeletons would come to find me if I did not hide under the covers

I still think skeletons will come to find me if I do not hide under the covers, but now I leave the covers off to welcome them

When I first played SSBM, I hadn't heard of all the fighters, so I didn't know the names of their moves and ended up mishearing them. When Captain Falcon said Falcon Punch, I thought he was saying "Snowcone Powerups". When Ness said PK Flash, I thought he was saying "It gets hot!" And I thought for PK Fire he was saying "It gets hotter!"

Has anyone ever got all SSB lines right the first time tho

As a kid I used to believe the Ghosts in Lavender Town's tower could actually kill you and your mons. I've been afraid of ghosts in video games for years after that.

I used to think that other people can read my mind if they made contact with me

Me too?! I thought I was the only one! Only I also thought that whenever a person touched something that I had touched, they would be able to tell whatever I was thinking at the time. It made me really cautious about what I was thinking whenever I was doing homework or touching someone's things, haha.

I thought that pokemon were real when I was a kid (I really hoped it could happen)

Pokémon are real. Haven't you been to Japan? They have those huge Pikachu parades!

Are you implying that those aren't real Pikachus? Absurd.

I used to think time actually slowed down as you watched a clock

What, didn't you know? Every time you look at a watch you create gravitational fluctuations that dilate time, slowing it down.
