Can't Type Name?

I went to start up the newest version of this game, but when I get to the "Please enter your name" box, it repeatedly deletes what I type, as if the backspace is being continually held down.

I've restarted the game five times, uninstalled completely, reinstalled from different mirrors, and I'm still getting this weird issue. I've tried using different keyboards, enabling/disabling my laptop's keyboard, but obviously my keyboard isn't the issue (since I'm typing this just fine and typing in other programs works normally).

Not exactly game breaking and since it doesn't look like anyone else is having this issue, it must be pretty rare. Mildly annoying, though.

Try tapping the backspace button while typing. If you stop pressing backspace and it continues, repeat until it stops. I have had this problem with nicknames. It will start up and type "aaaaaaaaa" or another letter. I hold another key while pressing the key that it says is held down. The problem then solves itself. Hopefully this helps you. Let me know if this solution works for you as well!

Keyboard input issues seem to happen somewhat sporadically. Some users have reported cleaning out malware from their computer solves the problem.

It seems a combination of a quick computer clean up and restarting the computer fixed it. Thanks for the protip, Ame~
