laggless01 51
I don't know if this is the right place to put it (if not so, pls tell me), or this topic is already discussed, but anyway...I tried to IV-breed a pokemon with 5 perfect IV's, with 2 pokemon that have 4 perfect IV, with 3 overlapping.Something peculiar that I noticed is that the random stat (the one not chosen from the parents) is ALWAYS 0...Can someone tell me what's going on? (bad luck, bug, ame)P.S. I spent a lot of money on this...if there is a good, reliable source of that, telling me would be greatly appreciated
Shadow Tack 2
er, what exactly did you spend money on? reborn game is free.
laggless01 51
I meant in-game pokedollars...those can be quite sparse sometimes...(And if you say that 3 stas are random in breeding: one of my pokés has destiny knot, so that makes it only one random stat)
DJ Mewdeon ft Dan Punk 43
This was something I used during testing in order to solve an issue with inheritance. It looks like the reversion didn't save before the upload, sorry about that. It's fixed now and another upload may come soon.
laggless01 51
Ok P.S. I finally have a father with 5 EV's in the 'field' egg group . Of course, the attack stat is 0, due to that problem, but that doesn't matter. I had to breed 30 eggs for it, though. EDIT: then it was probably testing for 14.1, 'cause for the original ep14 it didn't. Doesn't really matter, but liked to mention that. NEW EDIT (important): Well, the strangest thing now happened: I got a ralts (female) with 5 perfect IV's, and an attack IV of 29.The items held were an everstone and a power belt, parents had 5 IV's and 4 IV's+ attack IV of 29.This is quite contradictary with what I perceived to be the nature of the bug. It probably has to do with destiny knot. Breeding contains probably more flaws than it seems...
Chilibunny 0
Welp. Regarding IV breeding, I was breeding a Corphish. Every single one I hatched inherit ALL SIX IV's from the parents. Father, Seel, had Power Anklet and thus it's speed IV (31) was supposed to be always inherited. What then happens is that every Corphish has a defense IV of 30, SpA IV of 8, HP IV of 3/15, speed IV of 31, attack IV of 13/21 and SpDef IV of 13/smth else which slips my mind right now. So, my babies inherit all the IV's and none of them seems to be random.
laggless01 51
Well, that explains it, and destiny knot makes you inherit 5 IVs, with the sixth becoming 0. That means destiny knot sucks right now, and you should stick with a power item.
DJ Mewdeon ft Dan Punk 43
so in 14.1, a script was added that made an extra 2 IVs be inherited in addition to the standard 3 without using a destiny knot.If you added a destiny knot, it'd make the number of IVs 3 for standard inheritence, +2 for destiny knot boosted, +the extra 2 that shouldn't have been there. As this is 7 IVs, it caused crashes when calculating the IVs for the egg. So if you used a Power Item in 14.1, it looks like it's taking the 5 IVs you already get (the extra 2 + the standard 3) and adding a 6th.This should all be cleaned up by e15, but I'm pretty sure that's what the issue is. laggless01 51
So, atm, it's very easy to breed completely perfect (IV-wise) pokemon. Okay, that's going to be fun EDIT: there's a bit of a fault in this reasoning: with or without the destiny knot, it chooses 5 stats, and the sixth is made 0.But if you give one power item to one of the parents, then six stats are inherited. It is also reported that when giving two power items, the game crashes when you get the egg. This does not happen when you give one parent a destiny knot, I can definitely assure. So desiny knot probably doesn't work at all.If this is already known, please post the link to that thread.

I honestly don't remember the exact details, but that was about 14.1, which had a quickpatch called 14.1.1 where I'm pretty sure the destiny knot issue was fixed, but the IVs being set to 0 weren't. Regardless, all of these issues will be cleaned up for e15, rest assured.
laggless01 51
Well, atm it is nice to breed perfect IV's with 100% certainty. But it's good that it will be fixed eventually.
