sheppy1 0
Hey Everyone, Just found out about this game and thought I'd get it played on my MacBook Pro via Wine. It opens fine but I have lag all the time, everything jitters, especially when I'm walking around. Anyone know if there are any config options that should be used to make it smoother? Also my MacBook is very high specced so that shouldn't be anything to do with the problem. Cheers
Jericho 114
1. What is the speed of your processor? (GHz) (Click the apple icon at the top left -> About this Mac 2. Where are you in the game, if you have just started and are in Opal Ward or Peridot Ward, Lag is pretty common. 3. Try closing all other programs, including your internet browser, that'll free up a bit of RAAM.
Tacos 205
Sometimes you just have to break some things in. Also, have you deleted all the necessary audio files and/or followed the steps in my guide?

Only just started so I'm in the first town still, lagging started right away and is there all the time inside and outside buildings and in battles 3. I only have a few things open but wouldn't imagine RAM being an issue anyway as I have 16GB RAM in my laptop Well it's good to hear that it's common anyway and I'm not the only one having the issue...I tried to run the game in a Windows 7 VM too but that was even worse edit: Sometimes you just have to break some things in. Also, have you deleted all the necessary audio files and/or followed the steps in my guide? Haha yeah you do, gave it 20 minutes though and it's still as bad as it was when I started..if not worse. And I haven't, didn't know you had a guide (I'm new to these forums) do you mind linking me to it? Thank you
Tacos 205
This is it. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8815 Most of it is involved with installing Wine, but there are certain audio files you have to delete to make the game run a bit smoother. And I tell I lie! I did come across your guide when googling around to find out how to get the game to work on my Mac, I followed all your steps and this is the situation I'm in Was just thinking there would be some special packages that could be used in Wine to get it running smoother
Tacos 205
No special packages. Sorry man. The first city is always the laggiest. It will get better as you break it in. Once you leave the main city area, things will speed up for you a bit.

That's fine then if it's normal and others also have this issue then I will just wait it out, it's not unplayable anyway and I'm still enjoying it. Thanks for your help
