  1. Just raising awareness here. I am playing with this mod: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi9_MDQ2qiBAxXVgf0HHQkRAmQQFnoECBQQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rebornevo.com%2Fforums%2Ftopic%2F63421-rejuvenation-v1305-more-regional-forms-hisuian-forms-more-regional-variants-battle-bond-new-megas%2F&usg=AOvVaw03xNqz1JMQu2n9seE-2IyI&opi=89978449 so may have had an impact. Anyway, I keep getting stuck in this frame (image below) which meant I could exit from that door at any point. To resolve this I've made myself white out still in the ruins to leave (to continue the story after defeating groudon I had to wipe and then re-enter the big room before the ruins and the cutscene played out and was able to progress.)

I know it's possible to work, but I'm not familiar enough with Mac to be able to help you much in getting it to work properly. You can try asking on the discord if anyone else has attempted and succeeded.

What's the link for the discord sorry I can't seem to find it

EDIT - No worries, it runs well with wine installed :)

  3. After an amazing and lengthy journey, I seem to have finished Pokemon Reborn. Before I replay the game with a different team and ruleset I wanted to check if there's anything else anyone would recommend doing. once again, a huge thanks to everyone who worked on this project and created this 115+ hours of fun.

p.s. the 'Another Time' segment was a work of art. you really never cease to amaze us.

Ok so i believe you just need to remove the "Game.dat" file after doing it then you should be all set

I've done so but there's no change. Maybe because I'm on Catalina and you're on Monterrey maybe? anyways, I guess this is just the excuse I needed to do another full run-through. thanks for you help :)

They should all be in the same folder. So if you hold Alt/option while on Finder and click "Go" at the top of your screen, Library should show up. From there its Library>Application Support>Pokemon Reborn and all your save files from ep18 should be there. They just have a different name like "Game_2.rxdata". This is of course assuming that you were using the mac version of the game before, and not the Windows version.

In order to isolate the file u wanna play, you could just put all the files in the Pokemon Reborn folder into another folder to make sure you dont lose any data, then leave the save file you wanna use out in the pokemon reborn folder rather than putting it in the one you just created. Then rename it to "Game.rxdata". If its already named that then you don't need to rename it. This doesn't fix the problem but it can at least help you with playing other save files.

I've just tried this and it's still not identifying a new save file and when I delete the old game.rxdata file and replace it with the game_2.rxdata file (and change its name to game.rxdata) it still only runs the old save file

I see this is the place to talk about this. Idk how to delete my other post, maybe because I'm on mobile? Anyway..

I was gonna load one of my other saves however it says I don't have any. My first/main save is fine. But the other 3 I have do not exist. When I went back into the original ep 18 one when I tried to load saves it said it was corrupted.

I put all my save data copies in an easily accessible file. I just don't know where to put them.

I think the problem is, the original ep 18 I didn't need to have it in applications so it was just in my downloads folder. But 19 required it be moved to applications. Though to my knowledge I've read that saves are always in the same location and it was able to load my main one just fine.

So yeah, I guess I'm trying to figure out where to put my save files.

*So I did find the folder location where all my saves are. They're all still there. Even the recent saves I've been making on the one working save. But even though they're in the same folder Reborn still says I have no other saves.

**Ok!!! I had a problem! I tried seeing if I could click new game and then close to see if that would refresh something and it just deleted my only working save file!! I still have all my save files in the folder but the game doesn't recognize them nor does it allow me to click go to save folder option in the game title screen.

*** Ok small update. I did figure out one issue. I was able to get the one working save back. And found a bug. Luckily I made copies of my entire save folder before this was released. I deleted the saves folder in the main library and replaced it with my copy. However it wasn't able to work in all the new saves I made. Even though they're there. So it only has one save from before I started ep19. And while doing all this I had accidentally clicked start new game. Turns out doing this is what caused the bug that deleted my only working save. So I had to replace the library folder again to get it back. So there's a bug that if you start a new game on MAC it deletes your saves. I noticed it created a new 'game.dat' file when that happened. If that means anything.

Still, idk how to get it to recognize my 3 other save files even though there all in the same location, or why it's not reading the saves I've made since starting ep19.

Oh! Should add I'm on MacOS Big Sur 11.6 and my saves were all in the grand hall.

how were you able to access your old save file? I can't find where any of them are located and I've copied in my old game.rxdata file and pasted into the new game and it hasn't made a difference

I'm only able to access one save file at the moment and its not the one I want to play - any help?

edit- guess this is just the excuse I needed to replay the whole game again...

    This might help?

    1

Open Finder and navigate to the file on which you want to change permissions. Right-click its icon, and select "Get Info" to enter the file's Info window.

    2

Click the "Sharing & Permissions" drop-down arrow on the left side of the Info window.

    3

Click the "Read only" option in the Privilege column for the desired user, and then select "Read & Write." Enter an administrator password if required.

thanks for trying but the file itself I can read and write to but its the Macintosh HD which is read-only. I can't open it in finder only when choosing files to send does it even appear as an option, and hence I cannot save the file to the Macintosh HD which is where the original was stored. I tried to see if I could get the same 'sharing and permissions' drop-down for the location but it seemingly only appears for individual files, not folders or locations. thanks for trying though :)

The game does not look in data for its save data. It needs to go back where you originally found the file because that’s where the game is looking when it saves or loads the file.

All that .rxdata means is that its the type of file that Pokemon essentials (and I assume other RPGMaker games) reads when operating. The same way that MS Word uses .doc, or pictures have the .png or similar.

sorry for all the hassle -  I found the original location of it in the Macintosh HD but couldn't save the new file to it. however on Mac OS X 10.15 they changed how the Macintosh HD works and so it now read-only, so there is no way for me to move the new game.rxdata file back. sorry for the hassle

Put the file back where you found it initially. The Macintosh HD. It needs to replace the original file you uploaded in order for the save to load.

The Macintosh HD is where the package contents of the program are stored. I assume the file should be saved in 'data' within the package contents because almost all the files have same same .rxdata extension, yet it doesn't work. I'm really sorry to keep asking!

  10. I lost the double battle against the two trainers after titania and Taka spoke again in the water treatment plant and am now stuck (the water that Taka lowered for me is now raised) - the only other thread on this I've seen only showed a solution for this on pc but I'm on Mac - can I have any help? thank you!
