  2. In my case it's Heather and her father Corey overall:

Corey was just a normal person like you and me and bought the Ruby Ring to propose to his wife, Elena. But when Heather was born, Elena's life was cruelly taken away just because of the ring. This was a final blow to Corey, who would raise Heather in his ways and become the cynical person, whe met and joined Team Meteor to take it back. The two different routes involving the police officers is depending how tragic it is:

    1. In the Police Found Route, he gets exposed in front if his OWN daughter (which mentally broke her down and runs away) and he despises us for taking his only happiness away and wanted to kill us (since we found all the missing officers).

    2. In the Police Farce Round, you never find out that he's an agent and not exposed in front of his daughter. Will this lessen a bit the damage for Heather and cannot clearly see that (especially in your first time).

But think about the cause behind: Her mother died because Team Meteor wanted the Ruby Ring, Corey gave her as a proposal gift and growing up without a mother is the most terrible thing, that can happen to a child. This of course took a huge impact at Corey, who changed drastically and became very vengeful towards his wife's murderer and joined them for that. Despite having genuine and good intentions, he clearly had to seek help for the issues than commiting suicide.

And Heather? She was raised by a nihilistic father without a mother, who has the mindset "The world is cruel and reality is harsh", forbidden her to do things and sent her rules without explaining her the reasons for. As a result, she became very rebellious and refused to listen to others. I think the whole 'hero child' act is simply a way to cope herself with problems and her pain, to give herself some meaning perhaps. But the real misadventures started after Corey's death: We, Cain and Shelly tried to resure her safety, but she ran off and caught taken by Dr. Sigmund and given an electroshock therapy, making her mute. After the events of Yureyu, she ran off again because she felt ashamed for the trouble she caused. Hadn't she ran off from her problems and being honest, than none of this would've happened.

Even if she came to releasing this during the Ametrine Arc, when being locked by Blake, Heather symbolises helplessness and loneliness because having no good parental guidance will cause further problems later on and you'll have some real trouble because you're actually helpless against this all alone.

    Spoiler

If you didn't find all the officers, there's some crucial points at this conversation from the game:

Heather: "Make me! You can't! I'm done listening to you and your stupid rules! I'm sick of you saying I can't do anything ever! So I'm just done. Bye."

Corey: "You are being completely irresponsible. You can't just fly away and hope all of your problems will be solved."

Some good foreshadowing about Heather's misadventures.

As for Corey, his wife's death did tore him apart, that his mind was filled with revenge for that. And this influenced his guidance for Heather a lot. And it didn't end very well for him, regardless in both routes. Had Elena (Heather's mother/Corey's wife) survived, than most of the Molinar drama wouldn't existed.

  3. You can catch a Patrat at the Opal Ward, near the Grand Hall. It evolves into a Watchdog at Level 20 (bring also Common Candies for sure) and has this troll moveset:

    Hypnosis at Level 18

    Detect at Level 11

    Crunch at Level 16

    Super Fang at Level 21

    Bide at Level 8

    Leer at Level 3

At most cases, just softreset bc most of the attacks accuracy is under 100. This little guy helped me sweep 4 of her team😁

  4. So I always felt like the beginning and how Nastasia was portrayed like that at the beginning even after so many remakes (like Mindlack said) and by sinking ships. Wow...

Well the plot and mechanics sometimes don't get along together, I guess😅

"Why is it that I'm always the one ending up injured? I'm the high-ranking Leader, not you!

Well I can feel your pain Amaria. Because later on, you'll suffer something bigger than broken ribs and depending on what choice, your fate will change forever. Had to make this foreshadowing moment, sorry for that buddy😂

Anyway, can wait for the drama in Apophyll Academy and Azurine Island. Perhaps some lecture could make Gabriel a bit better.

  6. *In Joker voice* And here we go.

Welp guess Felicia has now lots of challenge in Aevium now, especially with evil forces and jazz. And I wonder, what her realitionship with Aderlyn will be, given both are Pokemon Rangers and the latter's first appearance. Perhaps you can make Aderlyn her mentor, after Felicia is joinining the Ranger Guild. Maybe giving her a Flying Pokemon as a Egg? A Noibat, Swablu, Togepi, Starly or Rufflet? That would be a nice symbolic touch, if you ask me.

Also the prologue was kinda nice and a beginning to start with. But Connor is again your typical jerk, but not so like Fern at the beginning and that's peeves me alot because of the former.

Ahhhh. I was about to go train my Munna. Oh well. I'm not much for mods, I try to always stick to the tools provided only by the game. Very interesting concept though. Expanding on the effects of moves used outside of battle.

Yes, it is a nice one. Though I forget, I did downloaded the modpack to make my playthroughs much easier and didn't realize that it was only because of that pack😂

  8. Welp, it was nice knowing you... unless Amaria is coming to the rescue. Also your version of Solaris is pretty cold, but it has to be as a villainous leader.

I still feel bad for Lumi and Eve, considering how their origins are and it makes me feel bad for them (mostly Lumi). Forced to be stuck in a strangers body and becoming an unwilling pawn😪

Nice cliffhanger by the way 👌

The thing is, we all know Cain's supposedly doing the right thing, but I wanted to show that there are very often consequences to doing the right thing over the lawful thing... usually unintended ones. I suppose it's a very first-world-lawful point of view, but I don't think that makes it wrong.

Yes... I wish the lawful side would understand their intentions, but given the current situation and crisis, not so much and ends pretty in misunderstandings with innocents paying the price for simply fight for their own sakes.

Yes, it's hard, isn't it? The thing is, it never stops being hard. I was thinking that writing the buildup to the climactic end of Part 2 (which is very close) would be easy, but... no! There are battles to write, actions to justify, and it all has to make sense! It's still difficult. And let alone said end for which I'm very motivated and nervous to mess it up...

About a "good" story: it helps a lot to have appeciative readers, such as you, but I'm starting to (very slowly) realize that I don't have to worry about whether it's good or not.

My weak points in writing a story are the grammars, battles and even making a good lore (not only with just family issues/abuse, I used back on Wattpad). Mostly when it comes to drama and tension, I used to be pretty sadistic with my characters. And it's hard to make it interesting for the readers, if you not want to make it poorly

Well, it looks like Felicia is having some bright prospects. A newfound friend, a new place to help and explore, a lot of Ranger experience...

    What could possibly go wrong?

Uuhm.... Perhaps NOT a certain Fox Lady, who would blew things up and cause shipwreck? Or maybe I'm just too paranoid and imagine things😅

  10. This chapter was pretty cute and adorable with the camping and Romi's interactions with Taka😄💖

Also I like how you make the Tourmaline Desert from "torturous never ending pain" to an adventurous trip with teammates shenanigans and exploring." It's pretty neat😊👌🏽

It wasn't intended. When you try to do what you think is the right thing, you can't consider how it's going to affect everyone tangential to the case. Otherwise you wouldn't do anything.

So yes, Cain didn't consider Gabriel's situation. It's not praiseworthy, but I think it's more than understandable, given that Gabriel is not being ECT'ed on a daily basis (now there's an idea...). Or perhaps he didn't think that it would create a political crisis which Ame would (at least partly) blame on Gabriel.

Ouch. That's probably a moral dilemma right there, since the boys have different opinions on and... when you have children, that live in such conditions.

On 10/19/2020 at 11:56 AM, Mindlack said:

Yes, Gabriel is paying for some of Cain's actions. Yes, it's unfair, but very few can say that they alone paid for their own mistakes. That's why Part 2 ("Taking Responsibility") is about, after all.

When I thought of that arc, I reasoned as follows: if there aren't immediate political consequences to the breakout, then there's no reason to not involve the League higher-ups in the rescue (hence short-circuiting the plot and missing out on [redacted]). But it's certainly not Cain's style to think of politics before doing the right thing.

Welp that's our flamboyant rival for you, buddy. Also taking responsibility and makings things emright after mistakes sounds better and honest, but by adding a few bad things also kinda balanced this, I guess...

Honestly I wouldn't put such things in my story, as I completely changed the canon events, but after reading it, I spotted so many spots, that made no sense at all (like making my protagonist a Mary Sue) and deleted it as a result. I never though that writing a good and interesting story would be that hard *makes angry Crystal noises*

Well, let's all pray and hope together, that the children are at least fine, despite going through some torture (maybe making Charlotte breaking free and hiding Shelly, the twins or Heather somewhere from Team Meteor, as she fights them)🙏🏼

Last thing to say is, that your story is slowly, but steady capturing both political and economic crisis of Reborn. Very impressive buddy😁👏🏽

"Don't tell me this is about the Orphanage thing. Ame's really displeased about it, and quite annoyed at you in particular. The news spread to all city officials and everyone's upset. If she knew I could be talking with you, Ame would probably have forbidden me to."

"Is it that bad?" I asked in a higher-pitched, uncertain voice, trying to look reasonably repentant. Even though I hadn't done anything in that! Cain had taken action, not I! I had tried to delay him, to make him see reason!

To see this, it makes sense now. As Gabriel wanted her to stay in this opportunity her safety and Cain and Shelly busted her out along with Charlotte, Noel and Anna. Gabriel is paying Cain's mistakes for, which is pretty unfair and thanks for making me dislike Cain now

I think that the ability to check your relationship points like this is a feature of a mod, I'm pretty sure there isn't any way to normally check them in game.

    48 minutes ago, Angelkitsune said:

yeah I also think it's from a mod cuz i don't remember having that feature in the original Reborn game

Really? Explain me please how it works with those mods? Do you need a specific one in order to trigger this whole method?

Also... I did downloaded the weather mod, so I could catch and do some certain events than doing the whole time weather reset loppings. Oops...

  14. During my 2nd playthrough, I "accidentally" discover on my Pokemon Team, that Shimmer (the Munna/Musharna, who you get after trading a Birabel to a man in Periot Ward) can use Psychic as a "HM". I didn't know that to be honest you can do this "HM trick" on a Pokemon, that you don't expect in Pokemon Reborn.

So what makes it's "Psychic HM" so special?

When you choose Munna/Musharna and then click "Psychic", a text will pop out saying "Shimmer is trying to reach out to your friend's minds. It is sneaking in your foes thoughs..."

But here's another one that blew me off: "Shimmer wants to let you know what did she/he find in there." And once you click "OK", a list on the right side appears on the screen with the text below "Relationship Values"!

I was very surprised to hear that first time, like this Pokemon can detect specific thoughs in reach like 4000 radius! The whole region! Also you can find the Relationship Value without using a mod pack or some hack maybe? (I don't know, but that's how I once imagine that)

I know that Psychic Pokemon have some crazy powers such as Mindcontrol, Telepathie etc., but this mechanic is pretty new to me. From the times, I played Pokemon Reborn, I didn't seem to notce that. But now I did😊

So if you what to check your relationship points, just use Shimmer's powers.

Did you also knew this mysterious mechanic or not?
