  1. I would have been completely fine with a simple patch to fix what little bugs remain in Reborn 19.16, but you guys seem to have way bigger plans.

Not that i'm complaining, i just didn't expect this.

But hey, with Nintendo continuing to anger long time fans, i can see why you continue to keep up the effort.

    remember gamers, wash your hair.

Wait, WASHING? I thought we gamers don't do this whole washing and showering thing.....this is outrageous! I'm offended!

Jokes aside, these new designs look good, and if someone really likes to keep the old ones, they can just copy them from Ep18. Can't wait to see the full extend of Ep19, as there will be a lot of things to explore, even in the older content.

Yet again, I misread things. I totally misunderstood the part about the level cap. It's TOGGLEABLE WITH EXP ALL?! I'm gonna turn it off, that's AWESOME :D

As far as i remember Reborn EP19 will have a password system that will allow you to enable certain features for a new safe file.

These features include things that are currently enabled through the use of mods, like using any HM without the need to teach it to one of your mons, as long as you have earned the required badge and have the HM itself in your inventory. Even Randomizer, Nuzlocke or Monotype should be included in that password system.

At least that was the plan back then as far as i remember. Not sure what changed since that announcement back in July 2019....

But of course a hard level cap is also a possible option to include through this password system.

Yet one thing that i am not sure about any more was the question of whether you NEED to use a fresh save file to use passwords, or if you can enable/disable passwords somehow on existing saves....

  4. Some people here seem to think that Reborn EP19 is going to be so easy that anyone could steamroll the game....

Well, that gives me a great idea^^

Hey @Amethyst and @andracass, what do you think would be the average time to beat Reborn EP19 starting from a fresh save?

Just throw us a number of hours that you think sounds somewhat doable for experienced players.

I'd like to see those who claim that Reborn EP19 will be too easy to beat the game in half that time....

for the most part, wild encounters are going to be the same. the new mons will be added as events/trades.

we won't be removing anyone! this'll just be bonus mon availability.

Good news, really! Can't wait to see which Pokémon will be added to early game, and how many in total.

Another thing I forgot to add is while I think most of these changes will be no big deal, I'm pretty bummed at the changes in the availability of Pokemon. For me, a big part of what makes Reborn so amazing is using Pokemon you'd normally ignore and therefore creating a bond and memories that mainline games can only DREAM of having. I know you said that concept will live on, but it was really fun having to think up strats with weird, typically weak Pokemon (Tranquill for Florinia and Kricketune for early game as a whole come to mind)

    have i missed something?

is everyone secretly using delibird as a mainstay in their teams?

i am so confused. why do people think this is going to change? just because it's not kricketune doesn't mean i'm giving you a broken-ass mon the moment you step out of opal. c'mon now.

Yeah, i don't really think that the new early game Pokémon will have THAT big of an overall impact. It will most likely be a selection of mons that are overall considered to be "weak" among their types. While Cass did say we will have at least 2 mons per type that "qualify" at the point we can challenge the first gym, we most certainly won't get a Drilbur or a Gible that early in the game. No worries there on my part.

And just because it's there doesn't mean you have to use it. I have to admit that i never used Kricketune in any of my runs, even though i always got it early on. Everyone says that thing destroys the first gyms, yet i found Caterpie to be a way better choice in the long run, so i trained it to get Butterfree asap.

If there is one thing Reborn has taught me, it's to turn Pokémon that are generally discarded as "weak" into instruments of mass destruction.

The real question is : are we going to see the staraptor ametrine kid in the nightclub and is he going to sweep us with his Unfezant

    pfffffft

    sure

I'm all for it! But this Unfezant HAS to be named Staraptor in battle for the lulz!

Jokes aside, i got two real question here about the changes to early game encounters:

    Question No. 1:

So you said players can encounter a wider variety of Pokémon early on in the game, which i really like, as it gives players new strategies to work with. But how does this affect the early game wild encounters in general? Will you just add new Pokémon to the early game, or will you also move some Pokémon that are currently early game encounters to a later point in the game?

    Question No. 2:

Will those Pokémon that are being added to early game removed from their current EP18 wild encounter locations, or can you still find them whereever they are found in EP18?

  7. I think that was also discussed during the live stream. Randomized Pokémon and randomized moves will be 2 different passwords in the EP19 release, as far as i understood. Well, maybe, if they feel like it (and if we ask nicely), Cass or Ame might even update this current patch to work that way.

Oh this is gonna be so broken and I'm all for it. What about event pokemon? Will those be random and will the sprites be altered as well? Cause if I see a man chasing a god damn Rayquaza I'd probably die laughing.

Hahaha, yes, the guy that chases his Lillipup will now chase a Rayquaza "Come here, Dogmatix!"

    • Haha 1
  9. A little question here:

You said there are a few changes to some trainers. Radomus for example now has 3 of his Pokémon carrying Sythetic Seed. Prior to 18.2 it was only his Gardevoir who used that item.

Are you going to update the downloadable PBS files for 18.2?

all tms, zmoves, and megastones will be available by the champion. don't you worry about that ice beam.

I remember that either you or Ame also said that the TMs will be shuffled around a little. This basicly means that not only will all TMs be available before fighting the champ, but you will also find them in new/different places than in EP18, or am i misunderstanding something?

Does that also affect the TMs you'll get from gym leaders after defeating them?

  11. 4 hours ago, andracass said:

so i had a similar thought right when i posted that.

there could be a password changer in the nightclub.

Why in the nightclub though? Isn't the nightclub supposed to be locked until you are champ? Putting that NPC into the Grand Hall (and Agathe Circus) would make much more sense, because it would allow you to enable or disable passwords at any point in the game.

  12. 12 minutes ago, andracass said:

there'll already be the easy hms password option, so that'll make this somewhat redundant.

Yeah, about those passwords, there is one question i have, or rather a suggestion i want to make.

As far as i get it from Ame's post about those passwords you can only enter those when starting a new game, and the only one you can disable is nuzlocke, after you lose that is.

    So here is my question/suggestion:

Would it be possible to add an NPC to the Grand Hall where you can enable new passwords, or disable currently used passwords at will? Of course this needs to work only for passwords that don't change the game too much. "hardcap" and "easyhms" for example should easily be able to be activated or deactivated at any point during the game. "monotype" and "randomizer" for example would be passwords you can't activate or deactivate after you started the game, because they change the game too much.

Would be nice if you told me how you feel about this idea.

  13. I can agree on the golden items as an optional set of key items so you don't have to use HM slaves. But the obvious question would be: WHERE do you put those? Or rather: HOW do you obtain them? Reborn does not have this achievent system Rejuvenation has going. I liked how Sun/Moon dealt with that, so you won't need HM slaves any more, but i didn't like the fact that some HMs were no longer available as TMs...

As for Pokémon with moves or abilities they couldn't ever get otherwise: Well, there is no Ash Cap Pikachu and no Battle Bond Greninja, and for a reason i would say....So i don't think you would get some Hackmons with moves or abilities they shouldn't have.

  14. I have 2 questions regarding the rewards:

    Question 1:

Are players obtaining something like battle points for winning, which they can exchange for the rewards they like, or willl you use some other system?

You know, like Battle Tower, Battle Resort, Battle Tree (or whatever) would do in the official games....

    Question 2:

Will Choice Scarf, Choice Band and Choice Specs be among the items you can obtain as a reward?

Would be nice if you could put those 3 items on the list of rewards.

  15. Even if progress is coming along slowly, it's still progress.

And i am willing to wait for as long as it takes to finish this project.

I mean....whatever happens, it can't get worse than Pokémon Sword and Shield, right?

Also: Yes! The AI is evil! It eats Pokémon (and probably children as well) and likes to torment poor Ame and her team! And it's probably the evil twin of Nebby, since it also doesn't like to stay in the bag.....er....it's cage....
