  1. I absolutely love Reborn, mostly because of the battle system that is involved. I do like the story and i'm invested in it, but the challenge of the game is what keeps bringing me back to it.

The main thing I like about it compared to other Pokemon games is the limited Pokemon obtainable throughout. I've had so many teams through Reborn consisting of Pokemon I've never really used before, it's a really refreshing playthrough.

With Boss battles and their field effects adding another layer of difficulty to this game, you need to come up with proper battle strategies for a lot of major battles, I love that this game really makes you think about how to overcome the obstacle at hand.

I'm currently doing my first ever monotype playthrough of any Pokemon game, and I chose flying. Some battles were very difficult, for example Blake. I had to try multpile different strategies, working out exactly what move to use and what Pokemon to bring out when, different speed ties and how I could change the weather/field effect. In any other Pokemon game I've played I've never had to think about a single battle so in depth that it's constantly on m mind, and I think that's brilliant. One of the things that keeps this consistantly challenge is the very strict level limit. Every battle is accomplishable at this level, but it never makes it a breeze. The battles do generally get more difficult as the game progresses, but the wild Pokemon vailable keep up with the difficulty curve, the wild Pokemon placements are very carfeully thought out and although it might seem odd how late you get certain Pokemon, there's always a reason. For example I was struggling with the Mewtwo battle as it outsped everything on my team, and one of my ideas was to get a Pelipper to activate swift swim on my Mantine, and then I can slow it down with Icy wind. Then I found out I don't have access to Wingull yet, a Pokemon that I always deemed quite weak, but it does have its niche. If that strategy is available at the start the game would be a lot easier. All in all it's a great story-driven fan game that's a challenge for people that have grown bored of the main series.

  2. Currently in 7th street looking for Luna after Radomus fight, I've finished the gang quests and fought Archie in the cave in 7th street, yet I can't get Bennet to spawn to continue the story. Also when I bought a stolen Pokemon Arc didn't spawn either. Is there anything else I need to do to continue the story?

Get a Vivillon. Compound Eyes makes Sleep Powder hit almost 100% of the time, and Hurricane as well. If you give it a Flying Gem, it can dispatch his Gallade turn 1. Also, Bug Buzz is amazing against some of it's pokemon, like Malamar, and Slowking. The other thing you can do is lead with Charizard and Vivillon. Use Sleep Powder on Reuniclus, and hit Gallade with Air Slash, rinse and repeat. I suggest leading with Charizard, since Radomus ALWAYS goes for Metagross. You can make Charizard learn Air Slash from the move re learner btw

Yeah Vivillon is a shout. Just didn't expect to have to deal with rock type Psychic attacks that basically ohko everything on my team. That should help to keep the speed advantage

  4. I'm running a mono flying team, and I didn't think I'd have trouble with a psychic team but this field is super strong.

The main issues are I have no fake out to stop the trick room, and can't get a flying fakeout user at this point, and I also can't get stomping tantrum to destroy the field.

My current team is all lv. 59 -

Charizard - Flamethrower, Flame Burst, Dragon Rage, Strength

Swoobat - Psychic, Assurance, Air Slash, Calm Mind

Emolga - Acrobatics, Discharge, Volt Switch, Light Screen

Mantine - Wide Guard, Hydro Pump, Air Slash, Agility

Yanmega - Air Slash, Ancient Power, Bug Buzz, Detect

Drifblim - Shadow Ball, Hex, Payback, Destiny Bond

I think my main strat would be to set up swoobat with the boosted calm mind from simple and the field effect, but I haven't found a reliable way of doing that. Any ideas?

shouldn't you be able to roam freely after Steelix? if there are no common candies in the shop in front of tanzan, you can go back through the rail net to reach reborn city

The Barrier that was up before this event started has reappeared, is that not supposed to happen?

  6. I'm currently in Tanzan mountain having just beaten the Steelix, I know where to go but the problem is my Pokemon are becoming over-levelled.

I put my team up to lv55 for the Sigmund fight as I'm running a mono flying so it was a pretty difficult fight, and now 3 of my Pokemon are 56 and won't obey.

I don't have any common candies and the exit to the hideout house is blocked, is there anyway I can leave before I continue this part of the story?

  7. Thanks for the help! Obviously I can't use Dartix as I chose Charmander, but will give Fearow a go. Was Also thinking I could bring one of the Lycanrocs down with Destiny Bond if I train up Drifloon before hand.

Thanks for the tips on the later fights as well!

  8. This is my first every monotype run on any game, everything was going smoothly until I came across Aster and Eclipse underneath the Grand Staircase.

I know this normally isn't a tough battle but fighting  Rock types is showing to be difficult for my run. My team is as follows:

Charmeleon lv.33 - Flame Burst, Fire Fang, Dragon Rage, Cut

Swoobat lv.33 - Confusion, Calm Mind, Air Slash, Assurance
Noibat lv.32 - Air Cutter, Bite, Razor Wind, Wing Attack (I know this thing sucks)

Ducklett lv.33 - Bubblebeam, Water Pulse, Aerial Ace, Air Slash

Emolga lv.33 - Acrobatics, Electroball, Shock Wave, Pursuit

Drifloon lv.26 (currently training up) - Ominous Wind, Destiny Bond, Payback, Focus Energy

  9. I recently changed laptops and wanted to transfer my game over to play ep18. I have copied over the save files and the RTX data in the saved games file. I have around 220h and 16 badges, however when I load the game Im at a point where I have 12 badges and round 60 hours. Any idea on how to get the right one?

  10. I was looking to get a leavanny for my second run through as I've never used it before and I was looking up movesets.

I never knew fell stinger was a move. Is this viable, and should it be used instead of/with swords dance?

  11. For future reference, you can find them in the old man's garden, as well as charjabug. You can also find Vikavolts, but they are very rare. I EV trained like 6 pokemon in this spot and only found 1. I think it was around mid 80s in level.
