  1. I don't think that the Divergent Book series is good.

I don't like any of the characters, and the Worldbuilding is really poorly thought out.

I guess the first one was... semi decent, I guess? But Insurgent and Allegiant are horrifically boring.

This series seemed like it was trying to ride the coattails of Hunger Games. But It failed really badly. Except for the fact that It sold. It sold very well.

Detergent, Insurance, Allergic seem like better book titles.

  2. So, Do I have to play Ace Attorney Investigations 1 in order to understand Ace Attorney Investigations 2?

I hear that that particular game is lame. 1, i mean. 2 is actually considered great.

I always wanted to play as Miles Edgeworth. He's forever the coolest prosecutor in Ace Attorney. With the most character development.

  3. The way I see it, the fact that Pokémon Rejuvenation won’t feature Dynamaxing is a cause for celebration.

Thank you, Rejuv dev team, for electing to ignore it.

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

Honestly, the reason I say this is... childish, really.

I don’t think Dynamaxing just doesn’t belong in Rejuvenation. I think that Dynamaxing doesn’t belong in Pokémon as a franchise. Any Fangame that elects to ignore it has my respect.

Making Pokémon Gigantic just goes against One of the points of a Pokémon, which is that the size of a Pokémon doesn’t really matter, and that Small Pokémon can fell large Pokémon. Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing completely go against that.

Remember when Pikachu felled Roark’s Onix, and Turtwig proceeded to do the same against Rampardos? Those moments were awesome.

Instead, apparently in order to fight a Dynamaxed mon, we have to Dynamax our own. Turning Pokémon into a battle between colossi is just... boring. Utterly, Utterly boring. Unless you use a cheeky, situational strategy like FEAR. But those strategies will be just that: Situational.

All it is is a three turn nuke that makes battles feel less epic with its existence.

  5. Overwatch on the Switch came too late for me to care.

But I still don't like the way they are handling this release.

If the Switch isn't powerful to run Overwatch in 60 FPS because of the high Polygon count... Why can't they just downgrade the graphics? That would make the game more playable.

Because of this, Overwatch on the Switch isn't gonna be as enjoyable as it is on the PS4 or Xbox One. It probably could have if they went with game speed over graphics.

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

Sometimes 30 FPS is okay, like in Slow paced games like Metal Gear Solid 3 or Xenoblade Chronicles.

But when the game in question is extremely fast paced, like Overwatch or any Devil May Cry game, I think 60 FPS is a far more important goal.

  6. I’m @ Cyrus’ story and I just want to say... that Therese is a piece of crap. Sis got up and snitched cause she got jealous? Oh well, things did go well in the end. Still, Therese will catch these hands if we ever meet in a ditch.

Maybe on the later chaps she will improve? She better. Girlie needs some love advice.

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

She doesn’t really play a major part in the Story.

Cyrus is my second favorite character, after Therion.

Well, it’s a better balancing decision than anything Gamefreak made or will make in the immediate future.

  8. Wow the SwSh direct bored me with a curry game that seems like a less fun berry mixer. But...

OH MY GOD XENOBLADE IS GETTING A GRAPHICS UPDATE AND IT LOOKS GORGEROUS. TAKE MY MONEY NINTENDO!

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive edition is a must have for me. Fiora looks prettier with these graphics, and they are offering cut content from the original. That's more than what Sword and Shield is offering.

And they presented the whole "character customization" thing, but I can't make my character look like Alice Winthrop or Legacy Axel, so who gives a shit?

A freaking cooking minigame. That's the only gameplay mechanic they had to show off.

You really aren't making the Sword and Shield backlash any better, Gamefreak. I watched to see if there was anything that would make me consider buying one of the games. You failed miserably.

    2. (See 2 other replies to this status update)

  10. Ahh! An hour and 15 minutes until the direct starts! But really, the only thing I'm looking forward to is Sword and Shield. I need to know more new stuff! O.O

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

I’m just like... whatever. I’m going with the flow.

Sword and Shield already look lazy as hell, so I’m staying away.

Breath of the Wild 2... the original has a lot to improve upon. I want them to have a Skill system like in Elder Scrolls, so I feel like I’m actually progressing.

  11.

I actually kinda like Ouran High School Host Club.

It’s a reverse Harem, but the difference between it and others of its kind is that the main female lead is not an idiot with no personality.

They also figure out that they are in an Anime in the Second episode. That was a well timed moment.

    Spoiler

The opening is too lovey Dovey for me, though.

And I hate that someone made a Final Fantasy VII parody of it.

It’s so wonderfully self aware, though. I love that about it.

If this premise was the plot of the next Persona game, I really wouldn’t have any problem with it.

  12. Hilarious.

The dub is charmingly bad. I enjoy it, even though I know it’s terrible.

Actually, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had moments in its dub that are charmingly bad.

I can still take both series seriously, but I wouldn’t replace the dubs.

Or in Beyblade’s case... somewhat seriously? It’s a show about magical spinning tops. It’s as ridiculous as a certain children’s card game.

  13. Walmart, Walmart, Walmart...

Removing ads for Violent Video Games, yet still selling guns. The very definition of Irony.

You know, If I had to give up either my Video games or the right to have real guns, I'd pick real guns, all the way, because Video Games are an art form and should be treated as such, by creators and players alike.

Although, I don't think either is the problem. Societal and Mental problems are the real culprit.

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

Even so, Walmart is the bottom of the barrel in terms of buying Video Games. Who the hell wants to wrangle up an employee to unlock a shelf?

Target is also guilty of this.

At the very least, I'm glad they aren't banning the sale of Violent Video Games. But this is gonna hurt their profits off the product, since general consumers usually buy whichever game is best Marketed.

  16. I predict that the Pokemon Rejuvenation Protagonist will die off for real at the end of the game.

    Spoiler

    All of them

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

I'd rather it be a kind of Persona 3 situation. The main character is actually somewhere in between life and death. Not fully alive, yet not exactly dead.

      It would definitely hit harder.

    2. (See 3 other replies to this status update)

  17. Edgy does not mean bad.

That’s a fallacy a lot of people seem to fall for.

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

I’ll be frank, I actually think that Persona 3 fits “Edgy” almost perfectly.

That doesn’t stop it from being one of the greatest games ever made, and better than its less edgy successors..

A story can be dark, but not edgy. When it doesn’t directly shove dark things in your face.

Edgy usually means that the story in question is trying to be dark. Like Persona 3.

  18. So, why do people on the internet feel the need to make lewd art of characters in Anime and Video Games?

Is it really that important over trying to be the computer Leonardo Da Vinci?

  19. Stop! You violated the Law. Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence. Your stolen goods are now forfeit.

  20. I wonder how going back in time, when I'm the age of a preschooler and just about to enter preschool, but I have the intelligence and reasoning skills of my current, somewhat more mature self be like.

I'd outsmart everyone in the class by a long shot. I'd also probably disturb the teacher with my somewhat more advanced philosophy skills.

School was always boring, so no issues there. I wouldn't be bored to death because I'm just better than everyone else at academics.

And my parents would be so proud of their little prodigy, that maybe they'd let me buy as many video games as I want. At that time, The Playstation 2 and Gamecube would be out, and I'd have a wide library to choose from.

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

I mean, I’m already bored regardless of how difficult my academics are. It really makes no difference. That’s what I meant.

  21. I actually don’t think Persona 3 The Answer was really bad, honestly. I don’t feel like any characters were ruined. Just going through an emotional time, with Minato dying and all.

Junpei’s character development actually came to a head here. He’s actually the voice of reason among the group.

I kind of do hate having to beat up the dog and the eleven year old.

But both Koromaru and Ken had steadfast resolves, and I respect them for it.

  22. You know when you come across an Anime that isn't technically good, but you end up enjoying yourself anyway?

That's what "Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon" is to me. Its really average, especially in comparison to its light novel. But I still enjoy it, as stupid as it is.

    1. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

It's the most 6/10 Anime I ever watched.

But My actual Score is a "More Competent than Akame ga Kill and Sword Art Online" out of 10. At least the writing and script is decent.

I'm also glad it isn't an Isekai. As a result, Bell does feel more like a natural part of his surroundings than an Isekai protagonist.

  23. I don't even think Klavier Gavin is really Apollo Justice's Opponent. He's actually an ally, who, like Apollo, is searching for the truth of the incident, and not trying to mislead everyone just to win the trial.

His brother is a dick, though. Through and through.

  24. Honestly, between Breath of the Wild and The Elder Scrolls Series, I find myself going back to the last two Elder Scrolls games a lot more.

It has to do with the abundance of Lore In the games, and the quests are more interesting. As well as how easy it can be to become completely Overpowered.

I respect Breath of the Wild for its world. But Even then I do think Oblivion and Skyrim’s worlds feel more lively. Neither feel devoid of people and places. And the NPCs in both games have more life thanks to the voice acting. It made sense In BOTW, because it’s post apocalyptic Hyrule. But I can’t help but wish that the NPCs were more abundant and Interesting.
