If a game's story is able to change your opinion of a character as the story progresses, that just goes to show how much effort the creators put into the story and the characters.

But to be honest, there is one character with little to zero growth at all, and that's Fern. Except for if you count players starting from "hmm....that guy is rude....i don't like him...." going to "god, i hate this guy! let me kill him already!" as character growth XD

Well, there is the fact that the miss direction prophecy suggests that If you weren't around to repeatedly beat him and trigger his inferiority complex, He'd actually be one of the people fighting against team meteor and helping the region.

Anyway I'm betting that Charlotte will wipe him at least once.

He used up all of his x-Def on the first obstacle he still has Aster Eclipse, Charlotte, Blake, Terrawr, WTC, that fucking gauntlet and finally Ciel

goood, no x item crutches. Samson might be the one that phys def boosts are the most effective against to be fair

So I ended up downloading gemini for this. Now, my confusion is with settings. Where do I find it? There doesn't appear to be such a thing in the scripts.rxdata. Where do I write $DEBUG=true ? That's the part that's getting me right now.

When you open up the scripts file in gemini, there should be a big list of sections on the left. Settings is the very top one, then you double click that to open the actual functions of that section. image.png.789a92f16340a4d54972e4b3d525d355.png

  4. I flipped out when he got that shiny null, I remember resetting a ton for that. He thought it was a scripted shiny lmao (understandably) but I'll clear that up.

Glad he'll get to show off some of the custom Silvally shinies!

the cracked walls had me flipping out in a different way, but we got there in the end....

Uh Dreamblitz you made a point to tell him the Pokemon to buy for the Mega-Z Ring but didn't tell him to get all of them anyway (cuz he's mentioned wanting a Lucky Egg)?  The Lucky Egg is the one he's actually in danger of missing out on since as far as I'm aware, those Pokemon are still there after you return to the city.  I'd get back to him on that cuz he's gonna pass the point of no return in two episodes at this rate.

EDIT: Lol I typed that while watching the video, looks like he figured it out on his own.  Maybe.  Although he needs to either A) be told about the itemfinder and how many shards you can get from it or B) be told to just soft reset mining rocks to get what he wants.  I don't know exactly how many of each shard he has, or if he's gonna make it at this rate.

Also you should tell him about the online Voltorb Flip calculator so he can grind casino coins quicker, or he's gonna miss Silvally too.

Also he's mentioned wanting to buy X items, well he CAN get those now  but not without being directed the stickers he's missing.

I've definitely made the lucky egg thing clear already. Not sure he'd want to do much with itemfinder / softreset since they'd be things that would take a bunch of time but not be video material, and I think he's quite busy.

As for the casino coins, I just made him a quick mod that does 10x slot payouts so that can be farmed pretty quickly. Using voltorb flip calculator is pretty slow/boring tbh when you're trying to get things done for content.

As for the stickers, he's got all the information on where they are available but tbh I don't think I want him to buy X items lol

Yeah, but while he knows from his viewers that this point of no return exists, he doesn't know where exactly it is, only that it is close to where he is in terms of story progression. And going by his recent speed of story progression and the fact that he might want to do some more of the stuff that he might want to get done before the point of no return, i would say that it'll be at least 3, maybe even 4 episodes before he makes it to the Agate Checkpoint.

And we don't know if there will be new episodes during the christmas days. So maybe we gotta wait to see how this will play out.

...I mean I literally said "shortly after badge 9", but there was probably a gap between reading it and recording so he probably forgot the specifics

    I concur with this concern.

Personally, I sometimes need stop and take time to relax after just one gym or boss battle in Reborn alone, that's how stressful this game is even without rules or an audience, hence the level of pressure we'd be putting on him to go from one entire intense game to another would be borderline abusive.

That aside, in addition, from what I'm reading here, apparently Rejuv isn't even half as complete as Reborn and we wouldn't want any more hiatuses than necessary in between development updates. Not to mention the time that would allow for him to forget about the game.

Well, Rejuvenation currently has 14 badges, and is 12/16 in terms of version releases, so it's got a bit further to go but there's plenty there.

I'm definitely going to recommend he play Rejuvenation eventually, but I'll make sure he understands both the scope and current completeness of the game, along with the different difficulties.
And who knows, I might lose the connection I do have when Reborn finishes anyway.

    I certainly hope so.

I still need to play Rejuvenation myself. Does one need to complete through ep 18 of Reborn to understand it? It's a sequel is it not?

No it's its own seperate story/game that's self-contained. It does have several references/cameos from Reborn though, some of which could spoil things slightly

By the way.....how did Ame come up with the name of Sir Elyvilon Nyunyunyu esquire the third? I'd like to know the story behind that XD If i had to come up with a name like that, lots of alcohol would have been involved 🤣

    1 minute ago, SilverAngelus said:

Where'd you hear this name from? I don't remember that..

It's Nyu's 'full' name in the pikachu house in the woods

I know Nyu was an actual community member back in the day who (iirc) hosted some of the servers for the old online league stuff, but I couldn't say whether the long version of the name came from them or not.

    That's what I figured.
This would then be the reason Swellow didn't U-turn into Clefable despite it's type advantage to Mightyena.

However, I double checked, Swellow was only Noel's second Pokemon after Porygon Z which means the U-Turn should have gone into Bewear, so this glitch did indeed occur.

Even if Bewear had been dead, any other normal type with a neutral matchup to dark should've been picked over girafarig.

As for the Ace things, I wonder if it's possible for some trainers to have two aces set? probably not but could be neat. Stuff like decidu/roserade for Fern and primarina/nidoking for Cain, or something

you need to side with el to be required to beat it btw

I think it's the other way around where siding with Radomus requires you to beat it.

One interesting thing I noticed: Noel perfectly demonstrated the "switch-reversal bug" that Ame talked about here by U-turning into Girafarig against mightyena.
