Agreed and Sword and Shield are easily the shortest games in the mainstream series due to how little lore based plot there is vs. the gym plot.
Not to mention with Reborn's difficulty level breaks are almost mandatory. I've taken at least a couple of them as well in favor of playing through most of Insurgence and Uranium. Not to mention Sword.

I think an extreme randomizer will take quite a bit longer than the regular game does, but yeah it's still not going to be as long as something like Reborn/Insurgence.

Extreme Sun was 'abandoned' because he lost the 3DS it was on while moving since it was a rushed process

I was specifically thinking of Adrienns fight when it starts as misty, and the fairy tale is 'underneath' when the mist gets blown away.
I think all the terrain moves only last 4 turns currently? it's somewhere between 3 and 5 at least...

Well, Misty Terrain would just get you back to where you started (which might still help for a bit) but Grassy/Electric/Psychic terrain should do the trick, at least until they wear off.

If you're not using a hard override, I think your only option would be turning the mist corrosive, and then gravity-ing it into a regular corrosive field (before tailwind), which should be permanent?

You might wanna send him a list of all the locations of the Coral Gym volunteers or he's gonna end up wasting a lot of time wandering around talking to EVERY SINGLE NPC in the game since I wouldn't put it past him to not understand that they're all in Reborn City and Reborn City's population alone is huge.

Yeah I prepped for the black market pokemon quest since the start. no spoilers on the quest itself and especially not the reward (need to preserve the natural reaction to that) though. I'll direct him to the start point once he has another couple of badges.

As for things like volunteers and event pokemon: this is not a completionist playthrough where he needs to get everything, do things "right" or stress over relationship points. It's not that hard to find the minimum amount of people, and with his nature, he might go around looking for more anyway. would be a good way for him to maybe find some sidequest hooks anyway. basically I don't feel any need to give him a list of locations for them or anything.

As for event pokemon, he's still pretty much sticking to one wild and one static per area (with some ad-hoc decisions for special cases and sub-areas) so again it's not like he needs to find all of them. Plus there's always been the area list which keeps track of where he still has encounters available, and most of the places before neo reborn have hints for a lot of the statics, so he can easily go exploring if he feels the need for new encounters. He already has over a box of potential pokemon to use though.

Dupes clause is always optional, you can catch another copy of one you've already had. So Belly Jr. should be his actual WTC encounter

We had a pretty good indication just from the fact that E36 was uploaded, since being able to do that meant that the footage had been successfully recovered from the same hard drive that the save would be on.

LOL. I one shot her Mega Altaria with a Moonblast from my Sylveon after it got off one Earthquake that scored "Weak" on the scale so did nothing!
(P.S I wasn't a fan of Slvyeon when it was first introduced, I'm pretty sure it was the one I have in this game that changed that, it's now my favorite Fairy Pokemon).

When is it?
I watched the beginning of an instructional video some time ago so saw how it's triggered but I'm just after Devon Corp. So far I haven't been able to trigger the mega bracelet event and probably can't now because last I left Arclight Adrienn was carrying him out of Devon Corp unconscious after he got his arm blown off for losing the gauntlet battle to me (now his Mega Amphoros was a hard one, my Swanna of all Pokemon was the one to take it down!).

All I got from the little of the video I watched was that the event involves returning some of the stolen Pokemon sold on 7th street to their trainers.

I'm pretty certain it becomes available after badge 16.

I feel like Pidgeotite is one of the more tame mega stones to get actually, just requires decently exploring a side area with a couple field puzzles.

and yes I'll be listing mega stone locations for pokemon he has if he's also got access to the ring and the locations.

So, he's at least been able to retrieve files from his old hard drive, since this was recorded before the issues. So recording it might not be able to start back up immediately, but this should at least confirm that the save file is fine too and it's only a matter of time.

I think he's currently just got a bit of a janky setup with a borrowed laptop that he can use for switch recording and a bit of editing but it's a lot slower. New PC and status of hard drive are still up in the air, quite possibly waiting on deliveries or something?

Gotta admit, the crash was my fault. Tried to make a funny little change for him but didn't account for an extra reference in the actual map file (which I can't edit with my limited methods)

It's fixed now and was also a good excuse for him to get updated to E18.2 which is a plus.

As for the friendship evolutions, from what I can tell that's not the fault of a mod or anything, it's actually a bug (or possibly design decision) in Reborn itself
Pokemon don't gain the friendship they're supposed to from levelling up if it's in battle and they aren't the active pokemon. This applies to both switch training and vanilla or modded xp share. Wonja is actually what caused me to test/report it.
