  1. I see you using FF tracks, and I like it. I feel like I'd have to see where this is going before saying anything about the writing. Nice job regardless. Did you use Valter as base for Janet?
  2. henlo midday update from le dying host (slightly early because I'm sick and not feeling up to doing much) As of now, - 2 players have yet to fulfill posting requirements - 3 players have yet to lynch someone - The Wizard would be revealed Vote count: - Eviora: 3 (Falirion, Nano, Eviora) - Falirion: 3 (Kiet, Newt, Aldo) - Drago: 2 (Bok, Lykos) - Kiet: 1 (Drago) RNGesus would decide who gets lynched at the end of the day, between Eviora and Falirion.
  3. I was asked a question that made me consider a loophole in the way the Vanilla NPC works. For future reference, a dead role can only be claimed once by a Vanilla NPC. For instance, the Blood Hunter was already claimed once, and cannot be claimed again by a different Vanilla. To put it differently, there cannot be duplicates of any role except Vanilla NPC itself.
  4. Day Three It was getting late. The youngest halfling yawned, ready to doze off. But Gandiet the mage was not done with his tale, oh no. There was more to be said, more blood to be shed. Bilbok went to close the curtains on the little house's windows. "Hate to your ruin your fun, but would you mind finishing your story before dinner time, old friend? I'm sure the kids would hate to have to go to bed without hearing the end." Gandiet snorted. "It'll be over when it'll be over. Don't worry though. The end might be near indeed, kukukuku..." The third day of the hunt began like the others, with a pale, timid sun rising above the mountains. The villagers' endeavors had resulted in utter failure so far. Hope was leaving some of them. Still, they had a chance to save themselves, if only they gave it their all. The morning was quiet. Too quiet. Before most citizens had even stepped out of bed, a sudden explosion broke the silence, followed by a terrible scream. Everyone rushed outside. They were greeted by a gut-wrenching sight. Lía was running across the town square, her body engulfed in flames. She was calling for help, yelling in agony, but no one was quick enough to put out the fire. She tripped, fell, never to rise again. The blazing flames consumed her under the horrified stare of the villagers. Panic submerged the hearts of even the most courageous. In front of the immediate threat, most citizens decided to flee to the mine, where they thought they could barricade themselves and stay safe. Everyone packed the bare minimum of their belongings and hurried underground. When Kiet, the Paladin, counted everyone, he quickly noticed that someone had not followed; Arch was nowhere in sight. Alone, Kiet returned to the now deserted town center. Arch's home was hard to miss: a colorful, strangely shaped little house, with a lute engraved on the front door. He knocked, but no one answered. Kiet opened the door and searched the house. It didn't take long for him to find what he was starting to expect. Arch was lying on his bed, eyes wide open. His body was cold. Surely, he had perished during the night. Despite his pleas yesterday, nobody came to check on his injury. He died alone, his mouth permanently frozen into a sad smile, as if the entertainer passed away knowing that he had been abandoned. Elsewhere, someone pressed a rag on a freshly opened wound, cursing the gods for this stroke of bad luck. Lía died. She was a Town Vanilla NPC, which you are already familiar with. Arch died. He was the Town Bard. A Vanilla NPC became the new Blood Hunter. Wish them luck in their quest to eradicate evil. Day Three begins and lasts approximately 48h. Please remember to post and vote. 1. 5. Night Two Outside of the cozy halfling home, the sun was setting, casting its last golden rays upon Gandiet's face. As the old man told his tale, the children shivered, increasingly worried that all was not going to end well. Bilbok knew it, of course. He had heard this story before. Whilst finishing his tea, he allowed himself a little, mischievous smile. "You know Uncle Gandiet as well as I do, little ones. If you think this old fart will allow all of this to have a good ending, then you haven't been paying attention." That day had been a lot more chaotic than the first. The villagers knew what tragedy awaited them, now; blood and death aplenty. They had to act, defend themselves. Reckless decisions were made. An innocent life was lost. Finally, heated debates and suspicions went in all possible directions, until two names were called out by the crowd. Arch and Amine. "You've got it all wrong! I'm already wounded and dying. Please, come to my aid. I can help you find the invaders!" pleaded the first. The second remained distant, as if disconnected from the tumult around him. "Why are you confronting me...? Someone broke into my house last night... I don't know anything else." Their arguments fell into deaf ears. They were both escorted to the edge of town by the angry crowd. An equal number of citizens wanted the first and the second to be exiled, therefore a coin was flipped, and their destiny was left to chance. Arch was lucky. Amine was not. Sparks erupted from his fingertips as tears welled up in his eyes. Why did they hate him so much? He was a law-abiding citizen, like them. Was it because of his powers? Because he was different? In the end, he was not given any answer. Defeated and dejected, he was chased away by the mob and ran, ran, never to be seen again. After he was gone, the citizens searched his quarters and belongings. No adventuring gear was found. No traces of any criminal activities. Evidently, they had just blamed an innocent, once again. The group of adventurers rejoiced. Their victory was, more than ever, in sight. Or... was it? In the shadows, a lone figure cackled. Amine was lynched. He was the Town Sorcerer. The crowd chose to reveal the abilities of the Paladin. The player who has this role can now make use of its level up feature. It is now Night Two in Sunnyvale. You have approximately 24h to perform your night actions, if you have any. @DigitalAmber Please remember to post and vote. This is your second and last warning before being modkilled. @Seal Please remember to post twice every day. This is your second and last warning before being modkilled. 1. Aldo 2. Amber 3. 7. BANG! In the fresh morning air, a loud detonation echoes. It is clear, dry, merciless. Standing in the middle of the town square, Newt lowers a now empty and smoking gun. In front of him, Nicki staggers. Blood forms at the corners of her lips as a crimson flower blooms in the middle of her chest. "W-why... I... I just..." She collapses, dead. Everyone around the square yells, runs, panicks. Some bolder individuals rush to her side. They cannot help her, but they can at least confirm her identity. Others turn away from the scene to hide large grins. Newt shot and killed Nicki, the Town Artificer. And so the hunt continues. 1. Aldo 2. Amber 3. Amine 4. Seal 5. Nicki, The Artificer [Shot D2] 6. 8. Day Two After he calmly heard the old man tell the tale of Day One, the middle child of the halflings pouted, visibly unsatisfied. "Uncle, your story is really grim! Does it get better in the end?" Gandiet cackled mischievously. "Who knows? Not all stories end well, you know. The real ones in particular. And this one... it is real, or I am not Gandiet the Greigh!" He paused to sip his tea, then resumed his tale. "The first night was ending, and a few discoveries awaited the villagers..." A pale dawn, rising above the roofs of Sunnyvale. The cool autumn wind, blowing under the golden and orange trees. The first few bird, chirping timidly whilst looking for food. Blood on the earth, again. Still in shock after the events of yesterday, the citizens were not given time to recover. As the Sun rose, they found another corpse, a mere couple feet away from the inn's front door. As if to mock their attempt at organizing the hunt. Like the anonymous miner found before, this body had a note pinned on the chest, with the same nonsense about sosig and the promise of death. Unlike the miner, however, this new victim was not anonymous. Astra was not one of the most beloved citizens of Sunnyvale, for his craft was death, and his calling quite dark indeed. Nonetheless, he as a Blood Hunter had served the town well over the years, protecting it against various monsters and creatures of the night. Ironically, he would be one of the first to fall. The Hunter had become the prey, for the first and last time. Interestingly, there was traces of fighting elsewhere in the village, but no other victims. This first night was an eventful one, indeed. Brace yourselves, citizens, for it is only the beginning. Astra was killed. He was the Town Blood Hunter. No dead role was claimed. Day Two starts and lasts approximately 48h. Remember to post at least twice and vote. From this day on, lynching is mandatory. 1. Aldo 2. Amber 3. Amine 4. Seal 5. Nicki 6. Bok 7. Astra, The Blood Hunter [Killed N1] 8. Fali 9. Nano 10. 9. I've also been wondering why A-L did not shift his vote back onto me already, nor try harder to get others to do the same. The logical explanation I can see is that it's too risky for him, because he would (at least temporarily) end up with the most votes if he withdrew his vote against Sopheria. Judging from his voting behavior, I'm inclined to believe he is more interested in preserving his survival chances than in actually bringing the one he proclaims to be scum (in this case, me) to the stake. That looks like what an evil role would do. I'm going to take that risk and tip the scales. [Unvote] Sopheria [Eliminate] A-L If he flips town, butter my butt, call me Judy, hang me and keep an eye on Amber and his defenders.
  10. I mean, you two did claim the same role, and only one of you (at most) has it, so one of you is lying. That's pretty much a fact. Idk why it comes as a surprise to you that I would suggest putting the liar(s) in front of their responsibility. As for townleaning Amber, there are many reasons why you would do that. One being that you genuinely think he's innocent. I'm not really buying that one, but who knows. Maybe you absolutely don't think that, and you're just trying to confuse the situation a tidbit more. Not a bad ploy this late in the game, when suspicions are narrowed down and lynching correctly becomes more important. Maybe you're also trying to throw shade at the ones who voted for Amber. You're not providing substance with your posts. They are 90% ramblings and theatrics. You're also trying to shift the burden of justifying oneself onto me. So far, if I were asked who between you and Amber is the real Psychiatrist, I would have said you. But I'm starting to think you might have fakeclaimed that role in an attempt at getting the Coyote to shoot himself with a fake gun. That would fall in line with this little nod to Nicki as well.
  11. No problems. I mean you look confident for someone who could be RNG lynched but hey we have you and Amber who claimed the same role, Psychiatrist, so one of yous is lying. Come to think of it, we could attempt an A-L / Amber tie to clear that up. @Anti-loser thoughts on this? Also about me trying to find the mayor with the 5v6 lynch, that was absolutely not my intention lol. I didn't even think of that, I voted Lykos because he looked the most suspicious to me at that moment.
  12. Arch could have done that if he was hung. He wasn't. He was gunned down by the Coyote and lost the game. He ain't gonna haunt anyone now =/
  13. With Arch being a dead Jester, unless I'm mistaken there are 1 vote on me, 1 vote on Aldo, and 1 vote on A-L. The Arch votes should logically be voided. I know of my own innocence and I'm not convinced Aldo or A-L are guilty. [Eliminate] Sopheria @Aldo @Anti-loser consider changing your votes, please. I'd rather lynch Sopheria than risk a multiple-ended tie, with us 3 being the other ends.
  14. Night One After some time spent in the kitchen, Bilbok came back holding a large tray with five, steaming hot tea cups. He placed one in front of Gandiet, one for each of the 3 children, and kept one for himself. The old storyteller was the first to take a long sip. "Sluuurp… Aaaah, delicious as always. You are truly living up to your name, my friend." The eldest of the kids groaned impatiently: "Uncle Gandiet! What did the villagers do?" "Shut up and drink your tea. What the villagers did on the first day, hm? Let me remember…" The hunt for the invaders began in relative serenity. Most villagers seemed to agree that it was too early to start pointing fingers. Oh, a couple names were mentioned, of course, but nothing too serious. It was the calm before the storm. Suddenly, a violent disagreement erupted in a corner of the inn, where the crowd was gathered. A tall man clad in steel plates was arguing with another villager. "I've found you suspicious for a while. You are one of those greedy invader, aren't you?!" "NO U!" People formed a circle around them, attracted by the shouts. It seemed like the situation could degenerate into a brawl any minute. Many of those who hadn't said much so far suddenly found themselves taking sides, supporting either the plates-clad individual, or his opponent. As the day neared its end, those who were booing the knight started to sound just a little louder. Just a little more vehement. Was it settled? Was the knight going to be the first exiled? Well, things did not go as smoothly. When citizens started to seize him, pulling him towards the end of Sunnyvale to be chased away for good, the knight resisted. "FOOLS! YOU CANNOT JUDGE A CHAMPION OF THE LIGHT!" He drew his sword, pointed it at his opponent, and time froze. Those who tried to drag him out immediately let go of him. "By my sacred oath, the one who has to face Justice today…" The swordsman turned to the right. "... is you." His blade flashed in the setting sun, catching everyone by surprise, and a stocky, bare-chested warrior right under the jaw. His chicken head rolled in the dust, and his body collapsed before he could even utter a single "Bgawk!?" The body was quickly identified as Bean's, an old and trusted resident of Sunnyvale. Yet, by a dark twist of events, it was his corpse who first soaked the ground in blood. In the deathly silence that followed, a single, faint voice beckoned the Paladin who had done the deed. "...what have you done?" Kiet, the Paladin, used his ability to change the target of Day One's lynch. Bean was executed. He was the Town Barbarian. The crowd chose to reveal the abilities of the Vanilla NPC. Those who have this role can now make use of its level up feature. Night One begins and lasts approximately 30 hours due to real life constraints. Remember to submit your NA, if you have one. @Seal @Dragoknight @DigitalAmber Please remember to post at least twice a day. 1. Aldo 2. Amber 3. Amine 4. Seal 5. Nicki 6. Bok 7. Astra 8. Fali 9. Nano 10. Lykos 11. Evi 12. Drago 13. Bean, The Barbarian [Executed D1] 14. Arch 15. Lía 16. Newt 17. Kiet, The Paladin 18. Bazaro
  15. DAY ONE ENDS. NO MOAR POSTING. Formal phase change to follow within 1h, I'm currently at work and hiding from my boss
  16. @Arch Well that's cool, naturally I'm a bit worried that if we do let you reach your wincon, you'll choose to take a townie down with you instead of helping us. Concretely we can't be sure that you'll kill the designated target, so it's kind of a leap of faith for us. That said, provided what you are saying is true (which I think it is because if it isn't, I really don't know what you're trying to achieve by claiming Jester), we also can't let you live. We'd be giving a free, functional gun to the Coyote. I'm keeping my vote against you. If you're sincere about helping us, I would suggest hitting either Amber or Sopheria. They're the ones I suspect the most atm. To everyone else, if Seal and I are found burnt and unrecognizable by the morning, know that we were both town.
  17. Just to clear up any misinterpretations: Dungeon Master is NOT a joke role. It is an actual role in this set up. All roles mentioned under the Roles section of the OP do exist in the game and all of them are unique except Vanilla NPC, 3 of which exist in the game. 15 uniques roles + 3 Vanillas for a total of 18 players.
  18. I was going to poke holes into Lía's charge against me, but Nicki and Aldo did that excellently, so there isn't much left to say in that regard. The idea that I could be an Arsonist pretending to douse myself is amusing, but that strategy isn't viable long term. Her post does contain something interesting though. This rings true. Or at least, it sounds very akin to how I feel when I'm aware of my own town role and get suspected for reasons that I find lacking. Thank you for the useful exchange. For now, I will look elsewhere. [Eliminate] Arch
  19. Atm, my calls for the 5 remaining evils would be Lía, Amber, Sopheria, Arch and Anti. Ofc these are mere guesses. One or several may be dead wrong. I think it would be useful for each of the remaining players to post a similar list of who they think could be the 5 evils. After a large enough sample is gathered, let's see which name(s) are the most frequently mentioned. Evil roles reading this, please remember that your fellow creatures of the night are your enemies too. It is in the best interest of everyone to make a genuine effort and attempt to come out on top.
  20. Yeah, that's the only reason why they should stay hidden tbh. I just realized that Coyote can't store guns indefinitely because each new one they receive replaces the previous one. They also don't gain any form of invincibility from guessing right, unlike previous games with a Coyote. So they're much less fearsome than I thought. Still an annoyance because they're the only thing preventing us from roleclaiming somewhat comfortably. Death to the Coyote and the Arsonist
  21. That's an interesting idea. The fun thing about the Jester is, their wincon is totally compatible with the town's. If we knew who the Jester is, we could agree with them to get rid of the other evils first, then lynch the Jester last. Town wins. Jester wins. Everyone is happy. Well, besides the other evils ofc.
  22. That's correct. Ideally we should avoid lynching the Jester, but I would still take a Jester lynch over another town lynch at this point. Sure if the Jester dies and wins, they can take someone else down with them. But the Jester is as blind as us and could kill an evil role for all we know. It's risky, but it's not that terrible. I'm confident these two were not killed by the Arsonist. The Arsonist can only decide to kill everyone who is doused when they stay home. I was doused N1, and I'm not dead. Furthermore, people who burn to death are damaged beyond recognition. We know who died and what their roles were. Judging by Nick's narrative, I think Bean was given an explosive suit by the Tailor. Then he jailed Kiet or all people (might be because of the Witch's shenanigans) and both died in the explosion.
  23. smh Bean and Blanket gamethrew again I'm not dead, which means the Arsonist presumably doused someone else last night. Depending on how much of a gambler they are, it may be my last day phase. On the other hand, we have nearly 50% chance of lynching scum regardless of who we choose. The evils also have a higher chance of hindering each other as the game progresses, so the situation is much less dire than it would be vs an organized mafia.
