  1. Day One

Rise and shine, dear students! I know the warm spring sun makes you want to laze around rather than focus on your studies, but class is in session!

It is quite an ordinary morning at school; no one appears to be missing. That doesn't necessarily mean the night was uneventful, but nothing bad seems to have happened to any student. Only one rumor runs around Cranberry High School and soon enough, everyone is aware:

    Newt visited Lía last night.

Day One begins now and lasts until Monday, 5pm CET. Remember to post and vote.

  2. Night Zero

When the bell rings, all the students can finally escape their classroom and scatter in the courtyard, eager to go back home. Their hearts are filled with excitement, not only because of the end of the school year that is quickly approaching, but also because of the massive party they are secretly organizing.

Some of them however, harbor darker thoughts. Breaking inside the school at night? Partying where they have absolutely no right to be? Unthinkable! Those who entertain this idea ought to be ashamed. Better find evidence of their plans and report them to the school staff, one by one...

Well, at least there's a silver lining to this threat. Someone who wasn't even told about the party plans couldn't possibly be a snitch, right?

@cicada aka Nicki is revealed as Suzie, the Town-sided Celebrity.

Night Zero begins now and lasts 24h.

    High School Mafia!

    Cranberry High School, July 2019.

The school year is nearing its end. Everyone in class 2-B is berry happy and wants to throw a massive party to celebrate graduation! Any old party in someone’s garage won’t do. No, it has to be something memorable, something thrilling, something as barely legal as some members of our club. The class has big, secret plans to break into the school at night, and cause havoc until dawn!

Only, there’s a tiny problem. Some students might want to chicken out of this, or worse… snitch to the teachers. You’ve gotta find them and exclude them from the group before they ruin everyone’s fun! If you let them do their thing, they’ll report you one by one, until no one is left to celebrate at all.

Ok but how do I play this? (credits to Daniel Blackworth)

    Spoiler

Mafia is a social deduction game which requires analyzing, cooperation, and looking through lies. There are two main factions in a mafia game: the Uninformed Majority [Town], who have to find others of their kind while hunting for the mafia, and the Informed Minority [Mafia], who have a private chat and plan there on how they should trick the town and whom they should eliminate.

At the beginning of the game, players receive a channel in the discord server with their role and alignment.

There are two major phases in a Mafia game:

    (1) The Day Phase – Typically lasting 48 hours , players use this opportunity to discuss about several things, which may include the outcome of the previous phases, behavior of players, and flow of the game; the ultimate goal in the day phase is for the Town players to find the Mafia slowly while Mafia players have to blend in carefully. Before the day ends, players must vote for a player whom they want to be eliminated on grounds of suspicion and the player receiving the most votes will be lynched.

    (2) The Night Phase – Typically lasting 24 hours, the thread is considered “locked” at this point and players may not comment at all. Instead, players with night actions, special abilities related to their role, may use these to aid their faction. The Mafia also discusses in the private chat on whom to dispose of.

The game continues until one of the major factions attains their win condition or unless it is no longer possible.

    So what are the factions?

    Spoiler

The Party-Goers. They’re the uninformed majority of class 2-B, and they’re down for some fun at the school’s expense. They win if they find and eliminate everyone who isn’t a Party-Goer.

The Party-Poopers. They’re the informed minority of class 2-B, who is trying to gather proof of the others’ wrongdoings and report them to the teachers. They win when they equal or outnumber everyone else.

Third Party? There may or may not be one or several student(s) with different interests in the class.

    Alright, what about the roles?

    Spoiler

The roles are hidden and will only be revealed when someone is eliminated, upupupu. However, you are given descriptions of all the students in class 2-B. Feel free to try and guess what their roles might be!

    Brock, the Drop-Out

He’s not an actual student anymore; poor Brock failed his midterms a few months ago and dropped out of school. Now unemployed, he still likes to hang out with his buddies outside the school gates and is still involved in extracurricular activities. He’s a fun guy everyone likes.

    Chris, the Sportsman

Always running on the sports tracks, or playing basketball with a few friends who can’t keep up with him, Chris is the energetic guy who’s always up for some sweaty fun. No, not this kind of sweaty fun, you hentai! His feats of stamina made him popular, but he’s a bit hard to talk to.

    Clay, the Napper

This big dude looks intimidating but he’s actually a softie, and he spends most of his time in class napping in the back. He’s not a very good student as a result, but nobody disturbs him because he isn’t bothering anyone. And also, because he doesn’t look like someone you wanna mess with.

    Delilah, the Mom Friend

Because she’s slightly older than most of the other kids and mature for her age, Delilah tends to act as the responsible one; a large part of the party’s organization is up to her. She’s sometimes criticized for positioning herself as a leader of sorts, but she accepts criticism without a care.

    D-Va, the Gamer

Obviously, her real name isn’t D-Va, but she’s spent a little bit too much time playing competitive Overwatch and now she insists that everyone calls her like her favorite character. Most people don’t seem to mind; she’s a bit of an oddball but still a pretty cool girl.

    Edward, the Intellectual

Eternal and unrelenting straight-A student, Edward always gets the best grades and is very appreciated by most teachers. Of course, that means he’s often bullied by some envious students, but he still has a close circle of friends and is liked for his willingness to help around.

    Karen, the Karen

Always gossiping, causing drama, arguing with the teachers and complaining to the principal whenever she doesn’t have her way… Karen is simply exhausting. She gets away with it because she’s somewhat stylish and popular, but many people find she’s too much of a bother.

    Kate, the Brawler

Don’t mess with Kate, or she’ll punch you right in the nose; many boys and a few girls have learned this the hard way. Despite her bossy and aggressive behavior, this tomboy is a reliable friend. She gets oddly angry and embarrassed when someone witnesses her being sweet to a classmate.

    Lori, the Slacker

Lori’s a very attractive girl with a bit of an unfortunate habit: charming the boys and persuading them to do her a few favors, such as doing her homework or buying trinkets for her. Some students are annoyed by this, but she’s too adorable and nice for them to stay mad at her.

    Mona, the Rockstar

Bright red is her color and heavy metal is her jam. Mona’s sure to be noticed whenever she’s around, thanks to her eccentric personality, flashy outfits and the large, axe-shaped guitar she’s often carrying. She dreams of starting her own band but hasn’t found the other members yet.

    Rick, the Bully

All classes have one, class 2-B being no exception. Rick’s had rocky interactions with the rest of the group since the beginning of the year, not to mention his chronic problems with the teachers. Still, the other kids reluctantly invited him to the party, fearing his reaction if they didn’t.

    Shaggy, the Pothead

Gonna be honest with you: Shaggy isn’t his real name. He just looks so much like the homonymous cartoon character that everyone started to call him Shaggy. By now, nobody remembers his real name, not even himself since he’s always high. That got him in trouble a few times.

    Sonia, the Bookworm

She’s a bit awkward and not the most socially adjusted student, but she’s actually very smart and knowledgeable. If only she went out a little instead of staying holed up in her room, she would probably have many more friends. Alas, she prefers the company of her books and computer.

    Steve, the Cool Dude

Steve fancies himself the cool cat and the top dog, with style, charisma, money, everything you could wish for. The ladies don’t love him as much as he thinks they do, and the boys mostly consider him an arrogant jerk, but of course he’s way too cool to let that bother him.

    Suzie, the Idol

Everyone knows Suzie, and Suzie knows everyone. She’s pretty, popular, a bit too talkative, and always the center of attention. She also can’t keep a secret to save her life, which is why nobody’s told her about the secret school party plans. Well, at least that means she isn’t one of the snitches!

    Timmy, the Normie

Timmy’s this one kid who never makes a splash. He’s generally well-liked, but not really anyone’s best friend. Doesn’t have the best or worst grades, isn’t particularly fashionable and never talks about his hobbies. Some people find that suspicious in itself, but Timmy doesn’t care.

    Jeez, there are rules, too?

    Spoiler
    • Day Phases last 48h, night phases last 24h. This games starts on N0.
    • Every day, you must post at least twice and vote to eliminate a classmate.
    • Failure to post and/or vote means a warning; three warnings mean you're out.
    • The player who receives the most votes is eliminated. If there's a tie, the victim is RNG'd.
    • Role and alignment are revealed upon elimination.
    • Dont share info outside of this thread and specific discord channels, please!
    • Be respectful to the other players and the host.

    Have fun, my peepos!

  4. A-L often drops big posts tho, it's pretty normal behavior for him. I don't get scummy vibes from him but we don't really have enough material yet to properly judge.

[Eliminate] Alistair placeholder vote to make sure I don't miss requirements, will probably be changed later.

Although if everyone voted for themselves, resulting in everyone getting lynched at the same time, would it count as a town victory or a mafia victory...? 🤔

  5. If we assume there are two roleblockers, I don't think Nano would put them both in the same faction. But there are many types of roles that could roleblock like Nurse, Jailer, Jailkeep, Drunk etc. so idk

I know very little about Dr. Seuss characters so I can't tell who's a good fit for roleblocking. However, I think Things 1&2 could be Lovers. It would make sense for them to share a chat imo.

  6. I can confirm there are various levels of "voting power" in the game.

I understand why people would think there's something behind Drago's apparent slip-up (it's a reasonable assumption to make), but he did roleclaim after that, and strangely enough nobody picked up on it or asked for more information.

Kombu Infinity is a monster with seaweed tentacles. If his power is related to that, I'm assuming it could be some form of restraining/roleblocking. @Dragoknight did you visit anyone last night? Or were you only doused?

I don't think we should lynch him yet so...

    [Eliminate] Dragoknight

(Yes, I promise it does make sense for me to do that.)

  7. Well, since Fali is cursed, how could it not be in the game? if not literally Cthulhu in the usual sense, at least a very similar role.

That said... the dead should stay dead. Come on, this game already had nearly 30 players at the start, if we keep reviving the third parties we'll be here for months.

    [Eliminate] Nano

First and foremost... how did Ali survive the shooting? Is he immune to being killed by anything but a lynch?

Secondly, if it was Nano, he could have chosen Newt, right? Since Nano’s been “threatening” Newt, and now he’s been accused...

Thirdly, I am confused by the gun target completely. Is there something I missed?

I think I know how I survived, but I can't answer your question without compromising my own safety (especially since there *are* people who want me dead apparently)

and idfk why I was targeted either

So 4 people got an item and everyone who voted for B, has now double voting power.

I am one of the persons who voted B btw.

thanks, I have double vote too I think

I'll remind you that I am confirmed town. Bean revealed my alignment.

which isn't proof that everything you're saying has to be true

at best it proves that your intentions are genuine with regard to town's interests

also I'm very interested in the visit you (and newt? how does that work?) claim to have paid me

as far as I know nothing bad happened to me, which is great, but still I'm very curious

  10. Evi's list is obviously wrong. As much as she likes to mess with us and even if she felt like gamethrowing, Evi wouldn't actively hinder people who depend on her to win the game.

I wonder if she's a townie who's having fun or a random TP who's having fun. Either way, she's having fun.

In most cases, being Bulletproof and holding a vest is essentially the same thing. Bulletproof means you start with a vest.

If we take Kiet in the Derry game, for instance, he was Bulletproof and had a vest that protected him from the lynch.

If Drago's vest really was used up however, then it's a moot point.
