hey this episode was pretty smooth, without much suffering. so many good things happened.
there was actual cooperation in something for once
braixen was hurt twice and was not present in the meeting
new area unlocked (debatable)
and you know what usually follows when good things happen in tandem, right?

these custom tiles man... they always hit me in the aesthetical nerve. Another artistic job well done there.

"Oh, you do? Thats great, i will be waiting. Thanks James. I might ask you about Mrs Hammerhands in some free time heh. See ya." Said Horace, closing the Xtanceiver and pocketing it. "Ain't that swell? Finally some smooth progress!" He turned to the shivering man. "Don't worry, if you two are good pups, we might let you off easy, surely easier than if you tried to resist or escape and then got caught again, so be sure to help us thoroughly when we ask you questions."
-
Horace let out an audible sigh before replying with "Hi, this is Horace Campton, and I will refrain from asking how you even thought that to be a possible name, and just ask you to send a vehicle to Goldenrod's Underground entrance where we are located, because we have apprehended two criminals who are connected with our case, and we cannot be possibly entering a taxi with them along. Also if possible, send some manner of first aid along, since there have been injuries, and a severe frostbite -don't ask how did that happen-. I hope the agency covers for all the above things, right?"

@CommanderI can understand many of your points.
The community issue is inevitable, Even if I'm relatively new here I sometimes I feel alienated in the way the newer generation socializes (tho I kinda try to keep up). It helps that I haven't stopped actually playing the game (or pokemon in general) so I still have more interest in hanging out in the reborn channel rather than the lobby, where most of the vets are, and most of the discussions are about things that do not interest me (USA happenings, games/anime I haven't played/watched, meme spam to name a few) .
I will not hide that I am sad, with an aftertaste of regret. Because even with no knowledge on game making, there could have probably been some way I could have helped, and I didnt.
If I would start over a new game (not one that would check out new episode changes), I would have opted to start in e16 CoM and only switch to the newest episode after Ciel, because honestly it would give me a more enjoyable experience than any addition of gen7/8 content, so thank you for that! Redux was even more promising through its content. I'd still suggest someone to play it because the major fights and the synopses are worth it.
There are too many "if" s, but hey

"Finally" Horace explaimed expasperated. "I got tired of that shithole. Now what? I don't suppose it is a good idea to get into a taxi with two criminals, one unconscious, under custody."
He picked up the Xtransceiver and called the agency's telephone they had contacted him from to inform him about his application, and waited for someone to pick up.

Horace awkwardly scratched his head in front of the scene that was the outcome of what Magnum caused. "....I think we will use the training grounds quite a lot. You need to control your firepower pal. We can't be leaving destruction in our wake. You are supposed to be a gun, not a bazooka." Magnum knew he should have been apologetic, but he couldn't help radiating pride in his accomplishment. in his mind, the scarier he was, the better.
It was at that moment that Serra came with her klefki, and proceeded to beat on a dead horse by attacking the already possibly disabled woman, knocking her out for good. Magnum let out a cry of approval towards the klefki.
After listening to her, the exasperated Horace figured there was little time dewelling in stuff not related to their immediate goals, and seeing as the girl left without even bothering to wait for a response, he picked up his Xtranceiver and called Elias. "Where are you man? We ve got some serious shit in our hands here at the moment, please come towards the place you no doubt heard the Metal Sound from just moments ago."
With that done, he went to the houndour guy. "You heard the lady. Though this doesn't change my initial plan anyway. Now stand up and get a move on. Any suspicious movements other than that will probably not be tolerated by Magnum here, as it has been evident so far." Magnum's death stare further emphsized that.
Horace would lead the man near his knocked out accomplice, and make him wait along with him till Elias comes to help with the woman.

After tons of cases of luckily surviving with 1 HP, Rose managed to make it to the evolutionary pinnacle. Nice!
Don't get too cocky now tho, as her bulk might betray her...
Adam got on his omastar! It had swift swim so it was so fast in the water that you couldn't even see it!
Why does the game assume that you are some righteous selfless hero on pursuit of good karma?

I was bored at work, so i was in the mood of re-doing the notable fights (those that i had kept a savefile for) in redux so far. This time i recorded them since it is close to zero additional effort for me, so these may or may not be useful as a feedback of sorts. Fern/Victoria/Cain i didn't keep a savefile for, but as far as I remember they were pretty on the easy side. I will try to not miss recording them in future episodes. I regret missing the scraggies tho.
SpoilerAster and eclipse seem to be in that weird situation where they are pretty overwhelming with the doggos, but seem to be less hardcore (still hard tho) than i would wish without them.
Edit: I was bored so i made a poison monorun on Redux. Because if a type has any chance to do it in this game it is this one. Was fun. I didn't skip the "less important yet still notable" fights in this one for more potential feedback.Spoiler -
"Jeez, Magnum, the last part was unnecessary, even though i can't complain about the cleared crowd." he turned to the criminal. "Good, now stand up and-" his eye caught a woman clad in black running towards him, in stark contrast with the rest of the crowd that was running away. The pokeball held readily in her hand said it all. "stay down!" he tensely told him as he quickly turned Magnum towards the woman, commanding "her pokeball!" before clicking the Aurora Beam trigger, counting on his, and Magnum's trained combined precision to dispose of the threat before it even becomes one. His Xtranceiver was ringing insistantly but there was only so many things he could handle at a time.
-
Horace found himself being on the spot, surrounding by people glaring at him, alone, since Serra had already left with the case, with an ink-covered criminal whose well-being was certainly more questionable than his houndour's who was for sure on critical condition. He was tempted to run away too, but his sense of righteousness couldn't ignore the fact that a criminal was in front of him ready to be captured, and both him and his pokemon were in need of medical attention too. There was, of course, the matter of the crowd.
"Everyone please calm down" he said around him while approaching the criminal, "this man had stolen an important item and we had to take it back. You, recall your houndour to avoid further damage. No other sudden movements apart from that. I'm watching you." Magnum, still on his hand, gave him an intimidating glare that would cause him imagining scenarios much worse than his current predicament. He also spared some extra glares to some people within the crowd that were looking especially hostile. "Once you are done, you're coming with me."
His Xtranceiver rang again, he picked it up with his free hand without losing sight of the criminal, or lowering Magnum. Upon listening to Serra, he replied with "yes, I saw, Magnum was the one who shot the Octazooka. I wish you wouldn't have ran. I will apprehend the criminal. I don't know where Elias is though, and seeing as I will have my hands busy, maybe you should see if you can find him. He is not even picking up the calls and it's getting really aggravating."
-
"Hey wait!" he shouted to Helias, although in vain, since the boy had already ran off. (What the hell is wrong with everyone! First the girl goes and disappears without a word and now this guy who seemed to understand we need to be together moments ago, now goes and runs off on his own! Team my ass!) he found himself screaming internally. "Darn it!" He started running towards the direction Elias had gone, hoping to catch up to him.
As he was on his way though his Xtransceiver rang and Serra piped up saying her thing. He let an exasperated groan as he reprimanded with "That's what happens when you run on your own without saying a thing! We could have started this together! I will try to find you anyway!" He closed the call and kept running towards what sounded like those awful Metal Sound attacks magnemites used to make, hoping Elias had also gotten the message and would follow suit. (Sigh)
As he arrived he witnessed the scene of an uneven matchup between a fire type and a steel type. He also noticed what came with the man Serra was battling: A briefcase with the unmistakable insignia of Silph Co on it. (Hot damn!) he thought aloud. He also saw what seemed like a magical enchantment that looked like it trapped them in the area. Possibly from the klefki. So there was no escape for their target... as long as the klefki remains conscious!
He did not need to question whether Magnum was ready or not, because he was always ready. Remaining as a part of the crowd, yet in a spot where he would have no inhibitions, he discreetly grabbed his "gun" from his inner pocket, and then quickly aimed it on the houndour before pressing the Octazooka "trigger". Then, before his location is pinpointed, he would move within the crowd to a different spot.

Horace sighs before replying "Accoding to my vendor, the alleyways further inside are a gathering spot for many shady figures. We might have a better chance looking for clues there, thought we might need to be more careful than we were here. And the woman we interrogated last, was mostly useless. I say we move towards the alleyways...."
-
Horace pats Elias on the shoulder "Don't give it much thought, women like to be mean like that. It makes them feel strong. Speaking of which, yeah, let's go find Serra, i think i saw her interacting with a ball vendor... follow me" Horace leads the way.
-
Horace was skeptical at her answer. Out of the city... well we do have some of us investigating ilex forest, so theres that. On second thought, this meant that the lady had not helped at all! If anything, sending them off the city would mean she could get rid of, and be far away from them. His internal thoughts were interrupted by her adding the part about meeting her while off-duty. "Oh... sure!" he replied, straining a smile. If anything, maybe she would be easier to leak any information during a casual meeting.

Friendship is magic.
Also adaptability basculin hits pretty hard with aqua tail as I remember from my gen 5 attempt of using it
-
Horace pretended to ignore the tip and just answered with "Yes, miss, we just need a bit of a lead. We can pretty much work with anything that would point us in the possibly right direction."
-
"I believe you could possibly be of help to us, miss. And yes, you heard right, because we are investigating such a case. An item was stolen, and we have good suspicions that the culprit would try to make business of it down here. I'm of the opinion that one can't work around here for hours without noticing things, so could you have possibly seen someone in black holding either a briefcase, or a small silver case?"
-
The box is empty because the game wants you to think outside the box.
runscomes back some time later
That was a waste of shard anyway because the Celebi only hands out Revives i think. An item you will never need.
at least you can evolve the bug into Vikavolt in the same exact jungle that you catch it. You need to be at the place where you fought Val and level it up i think.
Also --> Remoraid: Amethyst Cave (surf), Route 6(surf), Route 7 (good rod), Nectar Woods (good rod), Route 8 (good rod), Valor Shore (surf) make what you will of this.
Oranguru is the only other pokemon apart from Porygon-Z that has Trick Room in its natural learnset. That's certainly an interesting find.
I hope Mothball will survive till he's able to re-learn quiver dance. Because in gen 6 he could have learned it at 50, but in gen 7 he learns it upon evolution. So... bad luck there.

@MaelstromYe it was the storage room that had the actual primary use of being a hang-out and relax room for the unit. It even had a damn fridge!
But even when I was on dorm-guard duty I was still being in here doing the same thing, only properly dressed. We kinda knew when the checkers were coming. Actually I might have been on duty during the time of the picture too cause of the keys and the gear but I dont remember.
-
So after Mael showed how a proper soldier should be here is the other side of the spectrum. Que slight surge of nostalgia. Not so much tho. It's not like i had gone volunteerily xD

As Horace was watching how Serra was faring, he caught with the side of his eye Elias gesturing at him in a typical "follow me" way, as he was being guided by a woman somewhere. He figured he'd better help the guy if he needed it, so he discreetly passed by the talking girls and reached the duo. "What's going on Elias? Oh, hey, lady."
-
Horace put on a rather annoyed look while answering "They stole it from a friend of mine. I happen to be able to possibly help him on this." The annoyed look soon turned into a dangerous one as he finished with "When i find that crook he will be soon regretting it". He quickly put on a diplomatic smile as he added "In any case, I think i will go check those alleyways. One of those black-clothed ones might be 'my guy'. Thanks for the heads up, Mr. Dave"
Horace figured he would wait for Serra to finish her conversation with the other vendor before discussing plans with her and Elias.
-
Horace started at the rack with the brazenly overpriced revives and had the mild urge to make a sarcastic comment. Instead he said "Oh, i am already stocked on normal revives. Something more drastic would have been good for emergencies, y'know?. But yeah, your argument makes sense. I should have specified if any of them had a particularly black attire. And if not a briefcase, then maybe it could have been a small silver case, or a purple-colored pokeball."

"Oh please, madam, these were highly dangerous individuals, we did everyone a favor by clearing this place of them. Now if you could also do us a favor and disperse towards whatever important business you all no doubt have? Because i do not see any benefit from what you are trying to cause."
