That's a corrupted save, try a backup.

Trying to load this save in episode 15 because 17 & 18 are unplayable due to constant crashes (guess my mac cant take it past 15). If you opened and saved your game in E16+ your save is incompatible with E15.

I am in episode 18 and because I could not find the troubleshooting page for E18 I thought for this small bug perhaps I could be helped on the E17 troubleshooting page
I just found the Skuntank in the mountain but it does not sense my silver ring. I found in a topic that it has to do that the silver ring is now a key item while it is still in my items slot.
Can anyone please help me fix this?

There isnt much that can be done about that. You might lose a bit of progress but you'll have to use a backup.

It seems that it is a script/event bug (I don't really know, I'm not really into this stuff) and I wish it could be rectified. So I can't progress any further in the storyline, however I'm not stuck or anything.
EDIT 2 : Not stuck in the sense of movement, not storyline

Here you go, idk if that dialogue didn't show up for you but basically Victoria points out how strange it is that Cain hasn't reached apophyll yet and asks you to go look for him in Azurine Island (just take the same boat you took to get to apophyll).

Hello friends, I am having the same problem with Corey's Skuntank. I have the Silver ring in my items bag (rather than the key items bag). There is no option to use it or give it to a pokemon, and it doesn't have a quantity (eg. x1, x2) to the right of its name.
Similarly, though this was not a problem and I was able to complete the sidequest, the mulch would go to my items bag and wouldn't display quantity. Not sure if this is related.

The mulch is fine as long as it didn't get stuck in your bag and worked.

Savefile is saved with the follower Mod
This is a problem with the follower Mod, there's a map file in the thread that is supposed to fix this issue but you will have to repeat that part
