Whenever somebody syas, "this game is the dark souls of ___! it kind of turns me off since I'm getting quite tired of gamers acting like Dark Souls invented difficulty or something. I like Souls but Souls 3 showed me that I'm quite tired of the formula and would love for people to move past its design trend.

There is an inherent difference between writing within a journal and on a screen. A journal is permanent, unchanging, it does not allow you to look back at what you have previously done in a draft, and think, "This is terrible" and simply hit the backspace and start anew. No, Writer's journal forces them to press forward, to finish what they began, and worry about what their personal editor would think of them later.
