But see, here's two things: First, just because people can make up new ways of insulting us doesn't mean we should have to tolerate existing ones. Second, not everyone who uses slurs necessarily realizes the real implications of what they're saying. And that's where you step in and encourage them to think about it a little.
Unfortunately words don't always keep their original meanings, and the fact of the matter is that this term can be and is used to insult trans people.
The general public isn't anywhere close enough to a point of acceptance of trans people that we are safe from constantly being made the butt end of hurtful jokes. And comparing us to this particular trope is such a joke, and it's not very funny when so many trans women constantly face the very real fear of being accused of deception and trickery. (And no, not just by men, either, as is demonstrated by the existence of trans-exclusionary radical feminists, whose firm opinion is that trans women are men trying to infiltrate women's spaces.)
It's cool if your experience so far has been that people manage to draw a respectful boundary and don't apply this word in ways it should not - I'm glad you seem to keep the right company. Unfortunately that experience is far from universal. (Read: God, I wish that were me.) -

The r-word has a history of being used as a slur, that's the entire reason it came to be used as an insult. People began to use the r-word to insult others for much the same reason they use "gay" as an insult - it's in direct context to the group of people it is applied to. The insult is meant to be the comparison to those people.
Just because the word has rooted itself so firmly in people's vocabulary that some of them don't realize how it originated doesn't mean it's suddenly no longer a slur. Not when it is still commonly used as a slur against the very same demographic.
Words do oftentimes change meanings over time, but the r-word is still used in the exact same context that made it popular as an insult. -

How the hell did I only see this thread now? Your art is gorgeous and I adore that Ciel drawing! The pose is amazing, and the light effects - wow! The way the light scatters looks so cool.

This cactus in Sugiline Cave B1F can be walked over.
I know the skulls that are "buried" in the edges of the dunes can be walked over as opposed to when they're on flat ground, but it does look quite silly to casually clip through a cactus.Spoiler

I half disagree. Just because someone has a reason for acting like a jerk doesn't mean it makes their actions towards others any more okay. A reason is not an excuse.
I have a personality disorder that makes me emotionally unstable and often aggressive. Doesn't mean I get a lifetime pass on being a dick.
If someone gets one warning point for disrespect/rudeness and it turns out they had a shitty day, sure, that's one thing, but when you get to someone "rapidly" earning themselves a "stack" then it's clearly no longer an exceptional, isolated incident. If someone is in such a bad mood that they repeatedly lash out against others and can't trust themselves to spend time here without acting up so much it gets them actual warning points (which often implies they ignored verbal warnings), then the solution is for them to take a break from here for a while and work through whatever is causing the issues.
Auth can reach out to people to ask if everything's alright with them, but they have to work on changing their tune by themselves in the end.-

Dunno whether to make an entirely new post or just point it out here, but I thiiink someone ought to put that Magnezone back in place on the old header & theme: It decided to start moving around rather than letting the background do so :')
I mean, I'm all for freedom for all those poor PULSE mons, but we might have to make an exception for our pal up there.
Other than that: I've been complaining about the "trivial" ace privileges for so long that it's honestly gonna be refreshing to finally be able to do the basic things. Thank you!~

But this is very much a thing. More so, I actually often give up on even using the search function and wade through the board index pages manually to find what I'm looking for, because often I find myself in the situation where I know something has been discussed before, but using the search won't give me the results that I know are out there. Maybe because the actual thread doesn't use the keyword I'm searching for despite being about that thing, or whatever.
Some keywords are also so broad that you have to wade through a ton of unhelpful results, and not everyone's good at figuring out how to narrow it down.
On another site I'm on, I often get people asking me to help them with finding stuff, because they've been looking for [type of thread] and can't seem to find it, or they're trying to find a thread they already saw before, but can't seem to find again - and from them using the wrong words in the search, to our search function sometimes breaking, to them not searching in the right board because the thread isn't where they expected it to be... there's lots of ways for things to get wrong even if a person actually does try to help themselves.
The other week I've tossed a link to a thread that's been in use for seven years to a user who's been active for nine years. It happens.
Some topics are certainly easier to search for than others, but personally I find this forum overall not the easiest to navigate for newcomers. Hell, I still find it annoying to use at times, and the unfortunate bugs that staff are still trying to fight with don't help.
For a teensy bit of advice, if a question comes up a lot, something I have done elsewhere is to keep a copy-paste response that covers everything related to said question. Explanation, maybe a few useful links...
Never done this for Reborn because I don't use the forums here often enough / don't usually go around trying to answer questions, but having a bunch of pre-written responses to common questions makes life easier for me elsewhere^^
That said, I sign guilty as charged of using the "episode gets delayed" joke in recent history, so I guess this is also me saying I'll lay that to rest. Sorry!

That kind of sucks, but unfortunately there isn't a way around it. Our currency system is part of a third party mod which is completely incompatible with new forum versions. This is also the main reason that we haven't upgraded yet, but as it is now this forum software is nearly three years outdated and its age is starting to show.
