Tbh Abra is not as hard as you might think. Reborn AI has its problems, and it really is noticeable when facing Abra. Just play the switch game until Hyper Beam PP is 0 and take a pokemon who takes Dark Type Moves very well (Pangoro for example) and a Ghost Type. As I noticed through my many playthoughs, the AI will always (or in most cases?) go for its strongest move in singles (or pick a random move between all the moves which KO the opponent) when ignored setup moves, which Abra doesn't have. So switching between a Ghost Type and Pangoro is enough for dealing with Abra. Also maybe a death fodder if Pangoro gets more damange than anticipated. After Hyper Beam is gone, Pangoro solos. Someone explain this to TTar pls xD

Do I remember right that Abra only has these 2 moves?

Fun fact, but that's not actually the Reborn AI having problems, for a change. Abra is literally programmed to spam Hyper Beam in this specific battle so that players can use the recharge rounds to attack.

  2. He totally should pick up a Klinklang, technically he already could have gotten a Klink before Takazel and there's a good chance of getting it as his railnet encounter after the orphanage raid. The factory and short circuit fields are so common and shift gear is ridiculous on them - it's really not difficult to use. You set up and spam gear grind, if you want you can grab coverage, but if you actually pull off setting up more than once on that field you probably won't care about type effectiveness any more :^) He sure could use a steel for Serra, too.

Also it's my fave mon and I want him to have it :]

  3. My girl Shelly out there taking lives
They grow up so fast ♥

I think TTar did pretty well with the battle otherwise, given his strategy didn't work out.
And we better never hear Belly slander again, the blob eats damage for breakfast.
"What if I drink a Soda Pop with Belly?" Crack open a cold one with the boys.

    A drink to remember Tiki.

  4. What's more interesting about the Growlithe situation is something that Ame pointed out on her patreon server - Growlithe is obtained as a static encounter in the Jasper Ward police station. If Ttar limits himself to one static 'mon per area, then he can't take Growlithe because he already got Mareep.

  5. He might realize who the mysterious Meteor was when he fights the Crobat. He remembered Florinia having a Cradily, he might remember the Meteor guy having a Crobat. And he's already caught on to how weird it was that he lectured Heather like that. He might overlook a good amount of things, but he's not completely forgetful.

I thought it was pretty cool that he did get suspicious when Corey cut off Eve's infodump about Heather, and he even unwittingly predicted that she's E4 :'D

  6. zzzz these mixed signals
one moment he'll be like "no one died" and dissing wonga and I'll be cross with him, then he'll go "I wanna meet ZEL again" and I'm like yeah actually this lad is a nice young man I respect him

    rip wonga

he did really well with rini's battle! that was nice to watch, despite the death.
tho i'm not sure why he'd consider badge number a spoiler, seeing how it's advertised on the game page

  7. ngl I was shook ;A; I honestly didn't expect that tagging him would even ensure he sees the post to begin with, given how popular he seems to be
feelsniceman 'specially since i almost never draw any more these days

also just saying but I'd absolutely not put it past Fern to have a throne :^)

I can only repeat how much fun I'm having with his playthrough. It's just so refreshing to see someone actually invest thought into the characters and setting with this much enthusiasm; I know lots of people do that, but it's not something I've seen a lot with youtubers tbh. And even if some of his theories and interpretations come off as really funny when you already know the game, I just love listening to him trying to put the hints together.

...Which also makes me sincerely hope that people will be able to keep their spoilers to themselves and not give away all the cool or shocking stuff to him (lookin' at you here, Garchomp battle).
I was so ready to fight people when he started the vid saying he's been given clarification on ZEL, deadass thought someone went and spoiled the backstory to him zzzz

  8. Y'know, the funniest part is that he will meet a character with a (sometimes) belly face if he makes it to Shade.

His reaction to Tangrowth was so cute I think I melted a little. I'm so glad he's having fun.
Though I dunno why people hyped this battle up so much in difficulty, I felt it got pretty underwhelming after it lost the field effect :c

The PULSE mons use to just appear in battle straight away right instead of seeing the transformation, right?

Jep; I'm sure if you look at older videos of Reborn on youtube you could still find videos of that part pre-6th gen. The mechanic used nowadays wasn't present (IIRC the 'mons just had buffed stats), but the whole idea about a machine that super-powers pokémon was already in the story just like that. It's more that mega evolution added the perfect way to transfer it into gameplay.

In that case you might find my first reaction kinda boring, because i was like "Hm.....so it's just some kind of forced evil mega evolving....."

Well...it doesn't change the fact that i like the idea though. An evil organisation ACTUALLY doing evil things and committing actual crimes in a Pokémon game.

Fun fact, but technically PULSE predates mega evolution - Ice and Ame came up with the concept before Gen 6, but when Gen 6 gave us the mega evo mechanic, it was swiftly used to improve on the PULSE 'mons in the game.

  11. If he bullies them he's cancelled jk jk. Seeing how he doesn't seem to do much voice acting, it at least looks I don't have to pray in that department 😛
He'll be pleased when he realizes he was right about the whole "dangerous experiments" thing. I do love seeing people's reactions to the first PULSE.

  12. I am highkey here for how wholesome his tension and reactions during the gym battle were
It's such a breather to watch someone play this game and not bitch about it every couple seconds, I'm genuinely enjoying this.
Yes, even if half the tension was from him misunderstanding how the disobeying thing works - it was fun to watch :]

  13. "This is our pet dog and we're never gonna let her die" You named her after the right person then :^)

I'm not much into youtubers so I've actually (once again) never heard of this dude before, but I just watched the three episodes he has out, and I think I like him so far. If he stays this excitable after getting through a few of the harder battles, it'd be great.
He's trying to follow the story and makes an effort to explore things, that's really all I want from people doing playthroughs of Reborn.

    Consider me interested.
