  1. So certain dialogue options with Nancy during the Blacksteeple arc causes the gold-colored music note animation signifying 4+ relationship points to appear over her head, making it seem significant, but you don’t actually gain any points. And there are also the cases mentioned before with Tesla and Mosley that seemed like we gained points but didn’t. It’s likely we’re supposed to gain points with these choices but don’t due to an oversight and, if so, I hope it gets fixed because it just seems awkward otherwise.

In chapter 3 Marianette gives you a nickname, and after she give you your normal one for the character that you replace with Ana, she actually reacts to us having Ana's sprite and give us nickname Hope.

Whoa. I’ve been playing as Ana but I didn’t know this was exclusive to her! What does Maria say when we’re playing as one of the normal MCs?

  3. My game crashes right as the battle with Aya starts. I'm assuming it has something to do with a problem with switching Trainers? Using Aevia's legacy design btw.

(Unrelated, but the animations are a little wonky too; when Goomink entered the arena room, his sprite and Aya's stayed in the same spot until the scene was over. And using Fly leaves the player character sprite on the ground while the Pokemon flies without it)

  4. I really hope the Shared PC mod gets fixed someday. Jan always makes big changes to the game with every version, which makes replaying almost mandatory if you want to get the full experience. But recatching and retraining the same Pokemon each time is a pain and I want to keep some of them in the new playthrough.

  5. Not to mention our mother’s name. “Nancy” is actually supposed to be her stage name; in  BW2, she says her real name is Yancy.

Why, in Rejuvenation, Jan had her go by Nancy even when she’s not on stage is anybody’s guess.

  6. After the battle with Aya, she said she and Adrienn were gonna check out the Parks and Rec center after a shady automated message they sent. Problem is, the center is still closed and Aya and Adrienn aren't even waiting outside the building or anything. Where do I go? Is the sidequest incomplete until the next version?

  7. Spoiler

That's definitely plausible as it could explain how much Nymiera hoped the MC would recognize her. My own guess was that Melia was the Knight's reincarnation, cause I got the sense he was imbued with some of Arceus's power (if that wasn't already stated). But now that I think about it, she could actually be related to that fragment of the Deity that was whisked away, since her special powers have to come from somewhere... plus how she herself is pretty fragmented—she's Melia, Maria/Marianette, Melanie. And MC being Ozpin'd by the Knight (or someone else, can't say for sure) makes their episode and the disembodied voice(s) shown during it a lot more sense.

Oh heck, I just realized something—am also talking out of my ass big time btw, but still... in this game, AZ's weapon not only created Mega Evolutions, but it also stopped the Great War, all over the world, allowing the First Woman to defeat the First Man, who rejected Pokemon. In canon, there's a universe in which the weapon was never fired/built, which we can assume means it's a universe where the Man won. But... that universe still has Pokemon in it. Society is pretty much the same, just without Mega Evolution. Which means that even though the Man triumphed, he still failed to make his ideals reality.

Could the Interceptor have something to do with that?

ANA has memories from a world where Pokemon have been killed off. Maybe in her timeline, the Interceptor(likely the original Ana in this case) somehow disappeared/died, allowing the Man to finally succeed. And she was created as some sort replacement to be sent back in time and prevent their own cataclysm from occurring.

    Maybe.

Guess we'll get more answers in another 1.5 years lol

also do you guys have an idea who Madame X is? Im curious what others think lol

    My old stupid crack theory?

    She's a Malamar.

I started to give it 1/60th of a serious consideration when I got to the Inkay sidequest. The way they kidnapped people was similar to how that one NPC who tried to tell us who Madame X was disappeared. Team Xen would fall apart if anyone knew she was a Pokemon!

Then it turned out the Malamar overlord was just Jenkel in a squid suit and I honestly felt just a little disappointed lmfao

but seriously, whoever she is definitely had a strong relation to Indriad and Maria. Despite being ruthless and unrelenting in the goal she needs Melia's power for, the very first thing we see her do is to condemn someone for repeatedly putting Maria through pain, then tell the girl to never lose hope. So whatever she's trying to do, she does because she thinks it's ultimately for the greater good, and would actually benefit Maria in the long run. She also has/had a Time Diamond, sooo... perhaps she's a version of Anathea from an alternate timeline?

  8. Spoiler

Finished v11 finally and I gotta say, I'm getting a strong Reborn/Dragon Age Inquisition vibe with the Interceptor. Judging by the portraits of the player characters (including ANA) in Crescent's room, and the repressed memories the MC has of what seems to be multiple people staying at a vacation home, I'd say whoever we picked as our avatar is the lone survivor of some tragedy that befell a certain group of friends.

ANA is an especially relevant element in this. You can actually play as her, but you have to unlock her with a passcode; most wouldn't even know she was an option unless they dug through the game files and these forums. This is fittingly reflective of what is implied with that house and the grave beside it: that there was an original, human girl named Ana who was friends with all the other MCs, but seemingly died before whatever event that shaped our avatar into the player (and the demise of their other friends) occurred. As for the android ANA in the present day? I have no clue as to what's exactly going on there, but it's very interesting how her recovered memories share the same static as the MC's traumatic flashback. An alternate version of her being a potential Interceptor raises numerous conjectures about the player's origins including but not limited to being from the past, the future, the past/future from another timeline, another universe without Pokemon altogether, formerly part of some other secret club involved with time/space shenanigans like the Storm Chasers (which Crescent was somehow affiliated with), and some kind of artificial being not unlike Ren's vessel—mind-controlled from afar ("Who's mind will you inhabit next?" - Puppet Master). And that's not even getting into the possible connection they have with the Theolias...

Oh, and there's the matter of "Adrest". Nymiera thinks we're this person, and while MC doesn't respond, they don't seem too bewildered by this name either. That's just another thing that points to them having already been in the past before the events of the game. While we can't know for sure yet, I get the feeling that that name starting with an A like the other default names of the protags was not a coincidence on Jan's part.

gdi it's only been a couple weeks and I'm already craving v12

  9. So I got v11 patched and all. I started a second playthrough, and while that save slot is (currently) working perfectly, my first save—the one I'm continuing from v10—is extremely prone to crashing. It can't seem to handle entering battle, opening my party members' summaries, or opening the PC at all. Every time I try to do one of those things, the script hangs. This ONLY happens on save slot 1. (still in GDC on that file btw, if that's relevant at all. I only recently started the Kimono Girl quest, so I haven't even finished episode 12 yet.)

Before I patched the game, I had installed this mod pack:

but I'm unsure if this had anything to do with the crashes, because I downloaded a new patched core game with no mods and transferred my Game.rxdata there. Same exact thing happens.

I hope there's a solution to this because I would really rather not abandon my first save altogether.

  10. - I have no map? I updated my game in GDC

    - Also, every Pokemon's cry is clipped towards the end for some reason.

    - This is one I've had before V11 but my Meowstic(the lonely one from the playground) never has the correct sprite animation in my party menu. It's always still as if it had fainted even when it's perfectly healthy. Literally my only Pokemon with this problem.

The problem is, in order to see these choices as morally equal in right or wrong, you have to view them as a shonen protagonist would.

See, this is really the crux of the problem with your argument. You do not have to think like a "shonen" protagonist (or really, what you consider to be the behavior of one) to be in the right or objective, and the game does not push you into thinking a certain way. You made this topic blaming the game for having these supposedly one-sided choices but it seems like you're projecting an imagined prejudice against a more "logical" philosophy in general. They're only one-sided if you have a particularly stalwart mindset that greatly affects how you perceive the world.

I agree that we should have been given more nuanced results depending on the choices we did make (like at least make Kreiss seem more morally ambiguous if saving us from Angie was to be his only purpose so far). But taking both sides the value of all life into account isn't acting like a fucking anime character, it's just common humanistic reasoning.

The other person took most of the words right out my mouth (and explained it much better than I could) so there's only one other thing:

    3. Then I'd hate to be in your group if you were acting as a leader. I can't imagine anyone would possibly prioritize the life of a corrupt irresponsible cop over someone who has your back. I guess a better point I'd make is if one of your best friends was willing to risk your life and safety on a corrupt cop's life, wouldn't you feel he owes you an apology? It's a childish naïve Shonen attempt to "save everyone!" For all you know the cop would continue to sell his badge without an interest in making amends; why have so much faith in a corrupt man? EDIT: I'm going to even go ahead and say I'm not fond of Melia as a character, but even so, you've saved each other time after time. You don't just leave someone like that behind for personal irrational moral need to rescue everybody.

... bro, you completely misunderstood me lol. I was agreeing that saving Maria was, personally, the more appealing (and thus "right") choice. That's why I took it myself. It wasn't hard at all–Maria's an innocent child, and I can easily sympathize with her. It felt like she was the player's little sister. The cop, while facing a cruel death, is inconsequential in the long run. But, who knows? Maybe someone else out there found it an agonizing dilemma, and it'd be awfully tactless to call them childish or naive for being merciful. Everyone's different.

If we must insist on compartmentalizing morality into fictional character tropes, imo saving the cop is really only an act one of those more pacifistic protagonists would do (or one with a clear-cut moral code that tells them "all life is sacred"). Aang is a good example, as are most shoujo leads. Typical shonen protagonists tend to be much more into dishing out justice and staying loyal to their friends (depending on the anime, they'll be compelled to befriend the enemy, but they don't always start out that way). It's also something the "old wise mentor" character would advise the young, hot-plooded protagonist to do bc, again, "all life is sacred." Most people in real life and more pragmatic protags would pick Maria, which is completely valid too. Whether one or the other is wrong can only be a subjective opinion.

  12. There are no "wrong" or "right" choices. Particularly so out of those three you listed. You're just perceiving one scenario as more morally "correct" than the other when really the game isn't forcing you to choose one or act just like how a plucky, messianic shoujo/shonen hero would.

    1. Freeing Kreiss had potential consequences that Venam even warns you about. It wasn't supposed to be an obviously "safe" decision. Your character and Venam just happened to get lucky that he wasn't a bad guy, but it's pretty clear that he could have been.

    2. Again, whether surrendering the Magma Stone or not was right depends entirely on you. Both options have understandable rationale; on one hand, keeping the stone may cost you a life that didn't have to be lost, and it would happen right in front of you with you helpless to stop it. On the other, you need the Magma Stone to save other lives. These were both pretty clearly spelled out, and the game gives both options weight.

    3. If anything, saving Maria seemed like the slightly more "right" thing to do to me at the time. Even so, neither are taken lightly and you aren't blamed for choosing the cop over Maria–or vice-versa–if that's what you did. If you save the cop, Venam agrees that he doesn't need to die such a painful death even given his misdeeds. If you saved Maria, she tells you instead that the cop is only getting the karma he sought. Neither choice is wrong, and you aren't punished for one or the other at all.

  13. So, just downloaded the core v10 game for Mac recently, and I can't seem to access the PC?? When I selected it the game freezes and this message pops up. If I wait a bit the game actually unfreezes itself and it looks like I can keep playing and use the PC... except that the game straight up crashes once I exit out of the menu. This happened when I tried to use the PC Star too.

I just want my Potion dammit 😞

EDIT: Okay, I found the problem a couple days ago. Turns out the game just hates Winebottler lol. Been using WIne Stable to run it instead and it works perfectly.
