"Ah, there were previous reports of this? That is worrying, I had hoped against all odds that this was a one off occurence..." The mage admitted, before shaking his head and frowning. "What Hoshiko says is true. Many of these shambling foes would indeed get back up after we struck them down. The only thing which seemed to be certain to keep them from getting back up was burning." He explained, solemnly. This may not have been what they came intending to discuss, but the chance of being believed warranted this discussion as, despite his hopes, he knew this could be very dangerous indeed. Rudimentry animation of a Wyvern as he had seen was one thing, but people? It was wrong.

"There are some wonderful sights outside Caelum. Laguna Bay is quite lovely when the Kings' men weren't about terrorising everyone, although perhaps not enough sand for my tastes." The mage admitted with a shrug and a small laugh, before sighing a little. "We've faced the forces of Dragao on a number of occasions, including a general by the name Cloudbreaker who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with her bolting tome, and quite the scrape with House Nohr. And over this time a number of Dragaon soldiers- either those forced to serve, or those who have had enough of Roswell's madness -have joined us too. We have faced many challenges to get here, but it has been rewarded with those we have helped on the way." He explained, before turning to Hoshiko. "If you wish to know more about the lands outside Caelum generally, I imagine Hoshiko can do a far better job than I of that. After all, she came to Laguna Bay all the way from Yukihana. It's quite the long journey, I hear." He chuckled slightly at that, before pausing to think, looking at Saffron and then back to Hoshiko.

"There was in fact one other obstacle we faced on our journey, however. Something... different." He began, before looking over to Hoshiko, who had a closer witnessing of the whole conflict with Ignexus, and could no doubt provide a better account than he.

"Put simply, it is just as I mentioned - we are looking for allies. I think I can safely say that everyone in this room- and I would hope nearly everyone in this kingdom -wants an end to this pointless war, waged for the greed and ambitions of a tyrant. I fear that many of the people of Caelum have lost their life to Roswell's crusade, and our group has seen firsthand that many people of Dragao have done so. And there are plenty of good people in Dragao - indeed, many of the allies our group has gained on our journeys are former soldiers or citizens of Dragao who wish as we all do. For this mass bloodshed to end. And no matter how much faith I have in the Kingdom of Caelum and our own group of fighters to end victorious over Roswell... Then what?" The mage asked, before looking in the direction of Saffron and Hoshiko for assurance he wasn't making a fool of himself, and then continuing.

"Dragao needs a strong leader, but not a tyrant like Roswell. Not a greedy, hateful person. It needs somebody just. Somebody wise. Somebody who truly cares for their people. Our group started as a small ragtag group in Laguna Bay, doing as best as they could to oppose Roswell and help the people around us. But that's all we could do, all we were. Just a small group helping on whatever small scale we could. And then we had a chance encounter. Saffron and her allies, evading the forces of Roswell just as we were. And things changed for us. We had real hope and a real purpose. Something really tangible to fight for. King Brandon's rule ended with ghastliness, it's true. I think nobody knows that as well as Saffron. But his legacy before that was one of fairness. Of wisdom. Of compassion. And THAT is the legacy that the future Queen has clearly embraced and inherited. For she has demonstrated to us countless times that she is kind. That she is just. That she truly wants to help the people of Dragao and beyond." Terrin paused after this, leaving the room quiet, briefly, to give everybody present time to reflect on his impassioned words, before nodding respectfully towards the trio, waiting to read the response to his words before considering the best moment to bring up the gauntlet Ecquis had given them to gift to the young rulers.

  4. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

Terrin nods respectfully towards the three young rulers, before beginning his own introductions. Unlike where he usually had his tome strapped to his side under his cloak, he had ensured both his Thunder and Static tomes were fully on display and, in fact, had the broken remains of his old javelin strapped to his back as well. It may be useless now but it was a meaningful weapon to him, and he felt it appropriate to bring it.

"We appreciate your congratulations, and granting us an audience. We were able to make it here on account of the many allies we have gathered on our journey, and hope only to acquire more. I am Terrin, son of Lady Aisha. I grew up in this Kingdom, before embarking on a journey to discover where my true calling was in this world." He explained, briefly, before gesturing to Hoshiko with a proud smile on his face.

"This is Hoshiko the Righteous, noble warrior of Yukihana, and a true friend." He introduced, before turning to Saffron standing between them, and then back to the rulers, particularly looking at Ignis as he continued to address all three of them.

"And this is Saffron Dragao, daughter of King Brandon, and the future Queen of Dragao." He introduced finally, deciding to not yet elaborate on their reasons for being present as it seemed apparent enough, not to mention it was a good chance to give the three rulers or Hoshiko a chance to speak now.

"I do trust you are, in fact, joking, Senator. If we win enough favour in our meeting I will ask the Lua about the tome for you." The mage said, somewhat sternly, before turning to his companion with a smile. "Stay armed, be challenging, and earn the interest of the prideful? Y'know, I'm starting to think you may well have been the best choice for this mission after all Hosh, perhaps moreso even than me." He mused with a reassuring nod towards her.

  6. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

Terrin glanced at his companion and smiled a bit; who knew Hoshiko was even capable of such surprise and embarassment. He turned back to the senator with the same smile, regardless. "Yes, that complexity can be quite something, and the two of us- and our group as a whole -would certainly rather this meeting went well. It's, uh..." Terrin sighed a bit as the gravity of the whole situation began to hit him while he explained it. "We have an audience with Ignis, Sol, & Lua."

  7. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

Terrin was clearly trying very hard to hold back his laughter- This meeting was going about as well as he expected. And he couldn't help but be amused by his friend's embarassment.
"While I'm glad you think she would make a lovely main wife, this beautiful woman and myself are in fact here on matters of a more... political nature." Terrin said, before taking a deep breath, trying to compose himself. Not that he did a very good job of it, clearly still very much on the verge of hysterics. "We have a meeting tomorrow, a rather important one. And we felt you would be able to give us advice on how best to deal with it. Of course, we would also love to hear about your discoveries!" The mage said cheerfully, before turning to his blushing companion. "Right, Hoshiko?"

  8. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"It has indeed been too long, Senator." Terrin nodded wholeheartedly in agreement. "I'd love to see your experiment- and some tea would be appreciated. I hope you don't mind if my friend joins us, though?" He asked, gesturing to Hoshiko to bring the Senator's attention to the archer.

  9. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"Ah yes I probably should have warned you he's a bit of an... eccentric genius." Terrin whispered to Hoshiko, before approaching the rambling man. "Senator! Of all the times I've seen you trash your manor, this is the first time you've done it with fire." The mage said loudly enough for the senator to hear over his own muttering.

  10. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"Put simply? I didn't know how bad he would turn out. He was a troubled kid, acting out against those around him, but then, so was I. I thought he just needed what I didn't really have growing up - a friend. We all realised, in due time, that he was committed to a dark path that I couldn't stop." Terrin explained, before smiling at Hoshiko. "We're almost at the Senator's house, now."

  11. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"He was... different. Didn't care about anyone or anything. Not even himself, really. Just a hunger, a dark hunger for knowledge. And a twisted enjoyment and excitement surrounding death. He was the youngest of all 23 of us. As the second youngest, I wanted to be there for him, be a friend. I understood what it was like to be shunned." Terrin just frowned a bit. "He went down a very dark path, though. Nothing satisfied his hunger for knowledge. But he was brilliant, truly brilliant. One day we found a dead wyvern. He weaved his dark magicks together and brought it back from the dead. Then stole a Silver Axe from his father- A woodsman who had recieved the axe as a gift our mother -and flew away. I loathe to think where he is now. Best case scenario is he works with bandits, and worst case is something far darker..."  He sighed, before looking down at the ground, realising he'd really dampened the mood even more.

  12. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"Ah right, that..." Terrin mused, before furrowing his brow a bit. "I didn't used to be very nice." The mage responded, simply. "I have a very large family, most of whom are a lot older than me and I couldn't relate with. There is one particular sister- one of my oldest -who I really always fought with. I always had... disagreements with some of the officials involved in the church, and that same sister ended up becoming one such official and rising through the ranks. Lots of people don't take kindly to those who question priests and templars, especially some bratty rich kid with an attitude problem. And then there's the fact I always tried to stand up for my little brother..." Terrin just sighed as he recounted things, before shrugging. "I forge my own path, and it's a different path to what many would perhaps like." He finished, smiling a bit at the archer.

  13. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"Sounds like a plan, between us we might just not offend an entire nation." The mage said with confidence, before heading out, no doubt with the archer in tow, and walking along a winding street. "It's true I know how to handle myself day to day, and indeed even in important situations but... It's been a while. And I was hardly that well liked when I did live here, so I think a refersher is best, don't you? We don't get a second chance at this, after all." He mused to Hoshiko.

  14. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"Hoshiko, if we're going to be taking on this job, it is naturally important that we ensure we know everything about the proper way to conduct ourselves in there. I have an old friend- A senator here -that I wanted to see anyway, and he'll no doubt be able to tell us most everything we'll need to know. I still remember how to get to his residence, I think it'd be a good idea for you to come along." Terrin smiled at his... eccentric companion. He also looked over at Saffron and Feri. "If either of you think it would be useful or interesting to also hear what a senator would have to say to us about this, you are of course welcome to come along." He invited.

  15. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"Great, when you put it like that every single one of my siblings, my mother, and all of her husbands are gonna be there." Terrin sighed with a shake of his head, although just that possibility was enough to make him very glad indeed that he had an excuse to not attend. "Ecquis, if you meet anyone that introduces themself as 'Son of Lady Aisha', or 'Daughter of Lady Aisha', or 'Husband of Lady Aisha' or... basically anyone that has 'Lady Aisha' in their name, could you let them know I'm in town, but urgent business prevented me from attending, and you send my regrets. I wouldn't want them to think I'm snubbing them." He remarked to the wyvern rider, despite the fact that he would totally be snubbing them if he had any choice in the matter.

  16. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"If nobody has any objections I'm inclined to accept the commander's invitation to accompany Saffron. I'll lend the extent of my knowledge of how politics works here." Terrin says with a gracious nod, before glancing between Serene, Rosalyva, Mayanna, Hoshiko and Cherry to decide which one of them would be the least politically disastrous.

"Hmm... Anna, do you know if any relations of mine will be at the party?" He asked her, thinking. He knew he wouldn't be able to attend the party- and even if he was able to, the prospect of speaking to any of his family would be enough to put him off -but it would be rude to not offer his apologies if he knew anyone that would be there.

  17. 0c611388f4a844dd9358eaf6fc40e759.png

"Y'know..." Terrin murmured as he glanced at the bolting tome that had been crushed and torn beneath Louise's boot. "If every thunder mage threw a tantrum and destroyed their tome every time they missed the broadside of a barn, we wouldn't have any thunder mages left. You Dragaons have no discipline, I could've used that." He sighed with a shrug, lamenting the lost oppurtunity of something as cool as a bolting tome.

  18. Okay so the only things the online system legality cares about are:
    1) Is the pokemon obtainable in the current release of the game?
    2) Is it legally able to learn all the moves in the current release of the game?

And that is all. So anything that was put in via the 'old' trading method should be fine provided it is tradeable and hasn't been given unreleased TM moves or somesuch (So a Volcarona sounds totally fine!). And TM breeding stuff will be usable as soon as the relevant TM is available and thus the mon can learn it normally by TM. Indeed once all pokemon and TMs are available in the eventual final release, all the system will really check for is if the mon has a move it's impossible for it to get.

"Y'know that was a good pose. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought you were a genuine mage." Terrin laughed a bit at Hoshiko, before just smiling a little as he looked between the two wyvern riders and the nomad nearby. "Watch my back, will you? Don't let the guy on the horse come after me." He asked the archer, before running off to continue the offensive.

    Community questions:

So, who are you?: Hey, I'm Marcello and I am currently 2 years into a 4 years Mathematics degree at university! Maths has always been something I've loved so maybe when I'm done I'll do a phd, time will tell. I've lived in London my whole life, pretty standard stuff. As of just under 2 years ago I've been a member of the Development team for pokemon reborn, and as of just under 1 year ago I've been the only scripter on the team, and head of the development team as a whole (even if that is just in name only, really). I really enjoy working on the game, and it's always fun to see people enjoying it. I joined Reborn around 3 years ago and sometimes I still find it hard to believe that I have gone from some rando to being the only scripter on the dev team for the game.

Anything you're responsible for? As I've said before, I'm the scripter for pokemon Reborn. I joined a bit through the development of E16 so while nothing prior to that was me, a lot of the fun cool stuff that came with the latest release I'm at least partly responsible for, including a large number of bugfixes, online functionality (particularly Wonder Trade which I programmed from scratch and am still super proud of because that is my baby tbh) the mechanics behind a certain conveyor puzzle, and some other things, and one of the big things I'm working on for the next release is improved AI! I'm also the one that ruined the money curve as of E16 so the reason y'all are so rich ingame is because I messed up oops

If you had to choose one of your posts as your way to introduce yourself, which would it be? Did I mention that I like Alolan Exeggutor a lot??

What can I talk to you about? Just about anything you'd like, I like to think I'm pretty approachable and enjoy talking about things with people. Although in particular if you wanna talk about maths or something similar I could go on for hours so please talk to me about maths please I love it. Still, I'm open to chat about anything, I'll take any excuse to procrastinate from working on reborn

Closing statements? Nothing much else to say beyond this topic is a great idea, hopefully it helps newer additions to this community more open to interacting with those of us that have been around longer.

"A... ghost? In that house?" Terrin glanced back at the decrepit house he had just been in after Klaren's exclamations as he walked out of it, before looking beside him to the sceptical Rosa. "Well, I must admit, I didn't see anything in that house but..." He paused, looking back to the pleading Klaren, before smiling. "I've seen a dead wyvern eat a guy before, it wasn't that long ago we were fighting dead people, and I make thunder zap people by communing with spirits. Ghosts are probably real, Rosalvya." He just shrugged. It was at this point that the thunder mage saw Hoshiko readying to fire an arrow at the nearby fighter and nodded to himself, feeling newly rejuvenated as if he hadn't recently been shot many times- Indeed the arrow scars were all but gone at this point. "Heroic Combo!" He announced as he ran beside the archer to join her attack.

"Klaren just ran out of that dilapidated house, and it didn't seem like his normal, cheerful running, either... I suppose it can't hurt to give it a look over while I catch my breath." The mage mumbled to himself as he pulled an arrow out of his chest, dropping it to the floor as he glanced at a wound on his arm that appeared to have been healing for months with only a small scar, as opposed to the truth of the matter that he got it a mere few minutes ago. He just shrugged as he wandered over to the ruins of the house, peering inside as his arrow wound was already starting to stop bleeding while he took a few deep breaths.
