Same. I understand and somewhat agree with the criticisms around the characters and plot, but enjoy the visuals/music, and the world concept in general.
Overall I enjoyed the anime, but I would in no way called it a great one, not even good. Perhaps straddling the line between mediocre and passable. But claiming it's the spawn of satan like many people do is an exaggeration.
