Hey, cool! I figured that you would eventually release a field-based item, but my guess would have been a postgame "Field Generator" key item that changes the terrain to a preselected field at the start of a battle.

  2. Well, if you put it that way, it sure makes a lot more sense indeed. It is true as well that most people (including myself) do not believe that art should charge so much, although in my case it is mostly disbelief in me being able to promote my work for a higher price because I did not think anyone would be willing to pay that much

See, I wish that society as a whole would come to terms with the fact that art is worth just as much as any other good or service. The whole point of said good/service is that you provide someone with adequate compensation to do something that you couldn't do yourself.

Say that you want a computer. Can you build one from scratch? No? Well, that's why you go out and buy it.

Now imagine that you want fan art of your OCs or something. Are you a skilled enough artist to draw it yourself? No? Well, that's why you pay an artist to draw it. Someone else has to devote a lot of time and effort to an art piece; they don't deserve to not receive adequate compensation because a large percentage of people don't believe that the labor justifies the cost.

  3. I also inhabit deviantART and I see people who do these things for so much less( talk max 25$). I am not sure what kind of masterpieces people produce to charge 100$ x.x But I guess I have not seen enough of deviant then :o

I think it's because a lot of freelance or "amateur" artists who promote their works on sites like Tumblr or deviantART are desperate enough for work that they're willing to accept commissions for prices that a lot of people think they're worth, i.e. not much.

Say that an artist on Tumblr completes a full-body, full-color portrait commission for $40. Throughout this process, they have to perform:

    -Rough sketches

    -Linework

    -Coloring

    -Shading

    -Cleanup

Of course, this is assuming that the piece in question doesn't have a background, which also requires all of the aforementioned things.

Assuming that it takes 5 hours of nonstop work to complete, the artist has essentially been working for $8 an hour. This is lower than the minimum wage in many U.S. states, which hardly seems fair when you consider the fact that becoming a proficient artist requires years upon years of diligent practice and study.

  4. o.O what places do you visit for such high prices? ..that seems way more expensive than what I usually see

    ...Tumblr and deviantART?

Those prices are actually quite low, considering how long it takes to complete a full-body, full-color piece. People just seem to have this mentality that art shouldn't be worth paying much for.

  5. KYAAAAAAA! How cute!

Anyway... I came here to make an quick request. I want a fan art of Laura, Serra, Tania, Amy, Adult Anna and Adult Shelly. Here are the only 3 conditions:

    1.-Full color

    2.-Full body

    3.-Shoujo-ish style

That's all. My birthday is in a few weeks more, so that can be a birthday's present >w<

I'm sure there are plenty of artists out there who will accept commissions for those~

The rate for a full-body, full-color commission is usually between $50 and $100 for a freelance artist, and more for a professional one.

  6. And about that little thing with Flo and Fern... I'm thinking about makin series of short comics drawed in this style, illustrating some of Reborn events in a bit more comical way (since drawing characters like that is fast, easy and quite enjoyable) However, an original character will probably be involved, so I'm not sure if I'll post it here (good thing my tumblr blog is under construction)

    REBORN MINI COMICS YEEEEEEEEEEEE

  7. That mini Charlotte has an adorable smile.

And I like the sketchy lineart in the Taka fanart a lot. This thread got nice stuff.

I finished a Cain fanart I was working with for a few days. I wanted to draw more of the wasteland in the background since it's my favorite place in reborn, but good composition and perspective requires loads and loads of patience.

I also promised to a friend to post a few random older fanarts. Pokemon-related but not reborn

    ELDRITCH CATERPIES!

    That's super cool.

  8. Woah, Cain looks fiiiine. We need to start a petition to give Charlotte her cigs back, they really suit her character and I can imagine her taking a few drags or pointing it at a challenger's pokemon during the battle. #GiveCharlotteHerSmokesBack

  9. Hi everyone!

I just wanted to share some of my sketches with You. They're not as good as the fanarts we already have here, but I hope You'll enjoy in anyway~

What this forum definitely needed was Fern doing that thing with glasses every anime villain does.

  10. anyone got some pose ideas for saphira im stumped

Posing scandalously, underdressed and covered only by an artful selection of foamy white bubbles.

*cough* In all seriousness, though, maybe brushing her hair away from her face with her hand while giving a look of cold disdain? Shruuuuuuuuug
