I'm a college student soon entering my third year at UC Santa Cruz pursuing a B.S. in computer science, probably with a minor in applied mathematics. I hope to be an approachable guy around whom most people would like to be.
Anything you're responsible for?: I was previously responsible for a Site Suggestions & Maintenance thread where users could suggest changes to bring to the community, whether technical and site/server-related or policy/auth-related both before and while I was a member of the auth team. It's probably more known that I would update SotD on Discord and Showdown when they needed updating, but I hope I also acted as a member of the auth team users may turn to to discuss changes they felt were necessary in Reborn. For now, I'm responsible for hosting some small things on side channels from Reborn.
If you had to choose one of your posts as your way to introduce yourself, which would it be?
Probably my introduction thread. I don't mean to make this a scavenger hunt.
What can I talk to you about?
I guess it would be easiest and most enjoyable for me to talk about cool math facts, but that's actually excessively nerdy since we're all already part of a Pokemon community. So we could talk about music or cool artists who draw cool things? AtokNiiro is a great artist, but I do appreciate many other artists out there. Talk with me to raise the flag to continue this conversation!

There's no hard cap on song length, but it would be safe to call 10 minutes for a song a little too long. That way, others can float suggestions in.

Hey everyone! We are back at it again with a Summer Party featuring member-favorite notorious events along with some new ones we hope you'll enjoy. For this party, a majority of events will take place starting on our Discord server, but that's not to say we won't continue to host an event or two on our Showdown server. Let's break it down.
When
The party will begin on Saturday, June 24th starting at 12PM EST. The early start time is to give a window of opportunity for many users wanting to join in.Where
The party will be held on the Discord and Showdown servers. All events excluding the Theme Tournament and Auth VS (for Pokemon battles) will be hosted on Discord. Some particular events will be hosted on third-party sites or software, such as the movie showing or Auth VS.Party Events
Now you're at the fun part: these events are planned to take place during the party. We're introducing new events, such as the previously mentioned movie showing and Auth VS, an especially retributive event. Whatever your preferences, we hope you enjoy the selection!- Theme Tournament
This party's theme tournament is a five-type- Gen 7 OU, of types Water, Fire, Ground, Grass, Bug with the following bans:
- the Tapu family
- Ultra Beasts
- Jukebot music channel
We will be using a Discord bot to play music in a voice channel, where all other users are muted. Feel free to listen in or DM a DJ with your song suggestions!
- Queen's Game
Think of this like the "truth" part of Truth or Dare. One randomly-selected user will ask another randomly-selected user a question and the recipient of the question must answer honestly. Please keep in mind that almost any questions are permitted to be asked. If you are uncomfortable being asked a particular question, please make very clear to the one asking that you do not wish to be asked about a particular subject or avoid attending. The Vegas Rule is in effect: what occurs in Queen's Game stays in Queen's Game. Please respect the honesty of the event.- King's Game
And on this side of the spectrum is the "dare" part of Truth or Dare. One randomly-selected user will issue a command to multiple other randomly-selected users that the receiving users must act out. Please keep in mind that almost any commands are permitted. If you are uncomfortable being issued a command to act out, steer clear of this event. Like with QG, the Vegas Rule is in effect: what occurs in King's Game stays in King's Game.
- MadLibs
The first new event is MadLibs! MadLibs is a fill-in-the-blank text script that users will contribute to in order to create a story. The host will request users provide particular words (nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, places, people, etc.) so that a script may be created and shared with everyone.
- Never Have I Ever
Never Have I Ever is a classic event, highlighting particular circumstances have lived through. One user will say "Never have I ever done x", and those who have done x will be deducted a point. Lose 5 (or 10) and you're out!- Movie Showing
We will also be showcasing a movie during the party! The movie to be shown is Summer Wars through the hosting site Rabb.it. A link to the room will be supplied shortly before the movie begins and will be shared through Discord and updated here.
- Auth VSWe're saving the best for last; Auth VS is an attempt at giving the users the opportunity to battle the Reborn Staff in various games. Popular options for battling the auth include Overwatch, Smash, or Pokemon. Feel free to face the auth one-on-one or assemble a team to defeat us with a fluid strategy. Below is a list of auth who have pledged to accept challengers and the games they will fight through. More may appear in time. Note that auth partaking in League for VS will be on the NA server. Overwatch will be hosted first on the European server, then the American during the second round of VS.

Rather than forcing the mistake of feeling discomfort onto others as a result your own actions, it is preferable that you respect the requests and opinions of one another- respect is Rule #1 in Reborn. I ask that you abide by the Community Guidelines and not derail the topic of this thread. Other users are discomforted by your replies, so as a general rule of thumb to you and everybody, please reply according to the guidelines.

I would suggest loading up Ep. 15, saving inside a Pokemon Center, then trying to launch Ep. 16 again. If that does not work, please create a thread in Troubleshooting detailing the problem and the file-savvy devs will be able to help you.

SotD system then was using a suggestion that was emplaced at a time when it was not our top priority, and we have since booted that sucker out.
The New Song of the Day system is private message-based. Please message @Arkhi with song suggestions. More details have been added to the now-edited OP.

That's our next system in the works. We want to instate an EXP system that we can stick to. We're looking at the requirements for ace and seeing what may need changing. Also on our to-do list is ways to actively grant EXP for community activity. Ideally, we can hammer out a system and announcement in several weeks.

Hey dudes!
We've got a couple of changes coming to Reborn. Let's start with the more vital alteration to our Community Guidelines. Rule 2, concerning the use of chatspeak (you know the way Terra talks? That's chatspeak), has been removed and Rule 8, permitting just the use of English in public settings, has replaced the now-removed Rule 2. Warnings will no longer be issued for use of chatspeak on the Reborn Forums, Showdown Server, or Discord Server.
The mention of our Showdown Server leads into the second change, which regards the new policy for Song of the Day. Since the removal of rupees with the December site update, SotD policy has changed and we've established a simple system. SotD suggestions may be PM'd to @Arkhi on the forums or Discord server (username Arkhidon#2860), and your song and name will be added to the SotD queue. Users' names will also be added to another queue to track who has suggested a song in the past seven days to prevent multiple songs being suggested from a single user each week. This allows anyone on the forums or server to nab SotD quickly. Over time, we'd like to hear user input to fine-tune this system.

1) I watched Shofu playing Reborn and was all "aw yeah, that's rad," so I found my way here and joined up. I've finished Reborn up to episode 16 and intend to eventually finish the game when the final episode is released, hopefully keeping up with each episode along the way.
2) These days, it's the community that keeps me tethered rather than the game.
3) The community was just a neat side thing to keep me occupied in the mornings before school, but when I met my now closest and most treasured friend through Reborn, I felt compulsion to give back to the community what it gave me. Eventually, I was promoted to the role of moderator and I took that as an opportunity to make a positive contribution to Reborn however I could. Though I since stepped down because real life is catching up with me, I still feel the need to make a positive influence and that drives me to continue interacting with the community in what I hope is a benevolent manner.
