Happens. That's human nature. I know the feels too. You should know what to keep and try your level best to kick out the rest. Think of it this way, what the "jerk" told ya is all in the past now. It's just a huge load of baggage for anyone, specially the one who writes great novels, really  . If it was his mistake, he would apologize or not, makes no difference to what you are, right? You are what you make yourself into. All humans are like clay. We just need the right shape for the right use. Live life to your fullest so that you have no time for bullshit such as the rude person.
