"Heh, well you've never seen my craft. l doubt those rust buckets are equipped to handle what the Cleansing Rain has installed in the way of firepower." she seemed quite proud of this fact, Kella if she was familiar with interceptors would certainly know that while Vixen's craft certainly looked like the old classics from decades ago, that it was far from those original designs. Vixen did her last minute systems checks before she was ready to deploy. "Friends is a strong word for people l don't know, but l have a job to do and that's more imprtant. Empire wants these bastards out here doing what they do... they help people. So, l'm gonna make sure they don't bite the dust. Not enough good in these god forsaken stars."
With that last musing it was was about time for her to detach, and begin her wrk. She was the guardian angel... the one who watched from afar. A hand that could reach out and pluck foe from the sky as if they were nothing. She crecked her neck, took a deep breath. She was ready to do the work she was born to do as she so thought. "l've got some flys to swat..." Vixen snarled as deattached the Cleansing Rain from the corvette. She began looking for the nearest lnterceptor to blow high sky, to keep them off of her own crew. lt was her job after all, and one she prided herself at being one of the best at. -
Hmmm, not typically my kinda thing but l think l jsut might give it a whirl. Not usually in my wheelhouse but... XD

"Oh, well, Doran's going. Therefore l'm already decided. Besides, what's a little adventure? lt's a bit romantic when you think about it. l'll do my best as a maid.~ You all will have to work hard to protect me though." Chance said, holding her feathduster to her chest looking off into the distance wistfully. She really had nothing to go back to in all honesty. There was no home, nothing. She'd just be on her own once more, wandering about aimlessly. This was at least something.
"However, you all need to stop being so rude and introduce yourselves! l would think l should know the names of the people that are to be my companions in this long journey already. There's no need to be shy! lt's just little ol' Chance who's asking. Just a sweet adorable maiden that smile beams as bright as the sun!" -

The Arcana, are dying. Long have they ruled this world in secret, past the view of mortals as they weaved the web of fate itself. However, they find themselves with less and less power as the days pass. They are no longer what they used to be, no longer gods. The tapestry of fate calls for their demise, that they of course wish to avoid. One of their number, The World, has already fallen into an eternal slumber form from which they cannot awake. Each fears that the next day shall be their last. The webs of fate speak not of the world if all the Arcana fall to this slumber. Perhaps it shall remain all the same, but more than likely it shall fall to ruin.
The unthinkable is the only solution. To ally with humanity, beings just brazen and clever enough to save them. Those that have shown time and time again they’ve the ability to defy fate against all odds. This RP will focus on those humans that so answered the call of The Arcana. Those that would make a contract with them and choose to fight alongside them. Players will have their own character as well as an NPC controlled by me, the GM, within them. This character is their Arcana, one of the gods of this World. Your contract binds you to them and in return they grant your power.

World lnfo: Generic World lnformation and a primer on Masquerade, the most important city in all of Meridian.
SpoilerMeridian is the world that the Arcana oversee, one that once started from humble beginnings but has grown to be dotted with many a metropolis. Great cities dot the landscape the biggest of which, Masquerade, the jewel of humanity itself. While magic is still known to exist, it’s influence is small and not the main driving force of technology anymore. Magic sits on the outskirts of society, mostly a rumor or boogeyman told to keep children from leaving the cities at night as it’s practical use is limited. In fact, most known uses of magic are easily outdone by technology. It’s overly contrived nature leads to it being impractical for usage in daily life, and have left many modern people wondering how their ancestors ever survived relying on it. It’s seen as little more than a novelty, a fun party trick you can do to impress your friends perhaps, but not much else.
Masquerade: The largest city known to humanity. Often referred to as the City of Masks or the City of Endless Lights as it’s never truly dark in Masquerade. Colours burst from everywhere. Citizens often wear colourful masks in addition to regular clothing, though it is by no means a requirement. The city resides on a great flatland, it’s lights being able to be seen from miles away. Forests are found to the south of the city, though they are often avoided by most people with an ounce of common sense. They are home to the Jokers, a group of madmen devoted to The Hermit. There are a few distinct districts of Masquerade, each big enough to be a city all their own if you’d ask the citizens. They are as follows.
The Cups District, the Upper Class district of the city. Only the rich can afford to live here even if only in rented apartments due to the sky high costs. Being located in the heart of the city the space is prime real estate as in Meridian’s culture being as close to a city’s center is desirable, and often only a luxury the rich can afford. Massive technicoloured mansions span the skyline of the other districts, towering monuments that bathe the rest of the city in a multitude of lights. Often this district is referred to by the common folk as the District of Lights. The Coins District, the general marketplace and commerce hub of the city. Most practical services are located here. Banks, post offices, and other government sanctioned services are located here. This also the home of a large open air market that allows local artists, farmers and what have you sell their wares to the populace. This King of Coins Market, as it is known, is a rather popular draw to the area and often finds the automated trams packed to the brim every weekend when it opens.
The Wands District, the Pleasure Center of the City. The Wands District entirely provides services of leisure and pleasure for the citizen of the city or those passing through. Everything imaginable can be found here from museums, casinos, high class bars and other such establishments. The Wands District is also well known for it’s Magical Street Performers ((or as they are collectively referred to, Magicians.)), a place that magic does find a use, for show. The life of a magician is thought to be quite a glamorous one, The Wands District would sure like you to believe it is in media, television, novels, otherwise. However, for all it’s fancy window dressings and splendor it only looks that way for those that let the magic blind them to their surroundings.
The Swords District, both the low income housing and industrial hub of the city. The District of Swords makes up the outermost ring of the city to keep the fumes and smoke they produce outside of the city center. Due to the cultural stigma to living on the outside of a city, the housing here is dirt cheap and also often reflects its quality. Oftentimes cities around Masquerade have criticized the treatment of those that live in the Swords District, how unlivable the conditions are for human beings, and other such things. However, being the crown jewel of humanity Masquerade will probably not find a need to change its ways any time soon on the matter. After all, no one is forced to live there, the conditions aren’t the city’s responsibility or so claims the current sitting Magistrate of Masquerade. (( and many that came before him ))
Major Groups: These are groups that would be known to the PCs within reason. They will often come up against them or possibly come to their aid depending on the circumstance. They are the major players in the world and will make appearances throughout.Spoiler
The Court of Arcanaeum: The official ruling body of Meridian, though one wonders how much power they truly have these days. They are made up of 22 royal families, one representing each God of the Major Arcana in addition a few minor families that represent the Minor Arcana. They are a rather araciac and unwieldy form of governance unable to rally to get much of anything done. After all, getting 22 different lines of nobility to work together might as well be a pipe dream. Masquerade, tired of having to deal with the glacial pace of the Court appointed a Magistrate, something outlawed by the Court. However… by the time the Court could react nearly every major city in Meridian had followed suit. The Court dropped this matter and local governance has since tended to be the more reliable of the two. Despite all this, the Court does have means and resources, if only they can agree, and have the potential to be quite a force to reckon with.
The Jokers, Aces Wild… etc.: A cult of many names, most jokes at their expense that they co-opted. At first they were thought of not much more than a laughing stock, but quickly the tides turned. The Jokers are a misguided group of Hermit worshippers that seek to preserve and seek out the Mysteries of their lord. As as result, their leader is known simply as “Hermit Purple”. Given he’s seemingly been alive for 200 years… it’s believed this is a rotating title however it’s uncertain if this is truly the case and he’s not found some means to extend his lifespan.
The Jokers are quite mad but also capable at times, enough that they are considered dangerous and are not allowed in regular society. Their ability is often quite exaggerated by the media, and the general populace as they simply don’t understand that while they do know the secrets behind more powerful magic, that’s it’s barely more effective then what most know. One knows they’ve spotted a member of the Jokers if they see an individual clad in a giant purple sheet with two eye holes cut out of it. Similar to a crude ghost costume.
The Iron Cross: A group based out of the Swords District in Masquerade. A Worker’s Union, they fight for the fair treatment of the factory workers in the district they call home. They’ve also in general become a humanitarian group that positions for better living conditions in the outer rings of the city. They pull to try and get workers basic human rights as well as the poor working class that lives in the outer ring of the city. However, there’s more to the story then that of course. Often brutal terrorist attacks are pinned on the Cross, attacks on the Cups district or government provided service in the Coins Districts. The Cross of course denies any involvement with these attacks and says that any one who claims otherwise is a splinter group that mistakenly uses the name. The truth? Well… in the end whatever it is it doesn’t matter. The sitting Magistrate of Masquerade has declared them enemies of the state and whether or not they do carry out these attacks or not, the simple action of standing up is considered enough to flag them as such.
Magicians: a type of street performer famous in Masquerade. They work their crafts of splendor and wonderment from the District of Wands, the only place that they have the permission to work their craft. They are an often romanticized figure, carrying mystery, charisma and other characteristics that make them an appealing icon to the masses at large. However, their lives are some of the toughest of those in The City of Lights. Even if they don’t have to deal with the thick smog of the outer rings, their living conditions aren’t often much better than squalor. Only the most famous and best Magicians live outside of crippling poverty. Further, the hours are long and unforgiving and many managers work their employees to the bone. Due to their status as an icon of glamorous lifestyle… groups such as the Cross are not willing to fight for them. They face their fight all alone with no one to turn to.
Association of Service: Typically civil servants that work for the affluent. Maids and Butlers are culturally a highly respected profession as they give their autonomy for the service of others. They are typically devote of the Stewardess, the goddess who watches over them. [or so they believe] Often times they are those that do what their Master cannot or watchers of their domain. Maids and Butlers also due to their status somewhat of an exception to the typical justice system. They can only be tried by others of their status, other Maids and Butlers. An oversight of the Court of Arcanaeum that has not changed over hundreds of years. Often the Association of Service uses this as a means to employ assassins and pull the strings of society from the shadows. Note: Maids and Butlers DO NOT wear masks in the city of Masquerade under any circumstance. lt is a taboo for them to cover their face with a Mask. They do not hide their faces from The World. They have nothing to fear. This doesn't count proper attire for life in the Swords District however, as a mask of some sort is required to breath. ln this case the taboo is waved.
Terminology: Frequently used words either in setting, or in relation to the player characters.
SpoilerMasked,The Masked etc.: Used to refer to the citizens of Masquerade in varying capacities. Masks are quite common a sight in The City of Lights, the rich tending to wear ones that are a symbol of their status. However, they are also required in the Swords District. The Ash and fumes from the factories there require air filtration masks to be able to breathe with no adverse effects. Most that live there cannot afford anything more than simple paper masks. Factory Owners on the other hand have access to much better filtration due to having the funds. At times this term is derogatory, usually when referring to the workers of the Swords District… and others times high praise, usually when referring to members of the District of Cups.
Magic Shows: Large gatherings of Magicians putting on a type of performance. This can be many many things, to plays, circus etc. This refers to more or less any performance art show that utilizes magic of some kind. Due to the nature of Masquerade, this is nearly every performance of note within the city due to the Ringmaster’s control over everything regarding artistry within the city.
The Ringmaster: The man in charge of the legions of Magicians in the City of Lights as well as the owner of the Golden Swan theatre. A Man of Means and one who stomps out any rivalry in the arts swiftly. While he doesn't own the District of Wands, he might as well. All Magician’s technically report to him, however lower level Magicians are not typically worth his time, he contracts them out to “Lion Tamers” or smaller contractors that work for him.
Lion Tamers: More or less small time toadies for the Ringmaster. Often times they aren't even magicians themselves. Some magicians are “promoted” to Lion Tamers time to time, but this is rare and only really done as a means when a trope that needs a leader that knows the trade of being a Magician is required. The reason being Lion Tamers that know the business are much easier on their contracts. The Ringmaster doesn't like this. He is to be feared, not loved.Pentacles: The name of the currency of Meridian. They are small coins that are marked on one side with a pentagram. The front side of the coin depends on the denomination. Bronze have a Sword, Silver a Mask, and Gold a Dragon. Each has a name matching the front engraving, Blades, Masks, and Drakes. 10 of a lower denomination is worth 1 of a higher.
Crosser, Crossers: Members of the lron Cross.
Arcana, Greater Arcana, etc.: These terms are typically how the gods are referred to. It is rather uncommon to hear the Arcana talked about in these times as faith in them dwindles every day. Arcana/Greater Arcana may refer to the whole of them or to an individual amongst their number.
Contract: The term for the bond between an Arcana and a living human. An agreement that the Arcana will provide the human with some of their power ability in exchange for sustaining the Arcana’s ability to survive. This is not a known concept throughout the world of Meridian, and is only known to the Arcana. It was discovered due to a rather… strange incidence where The Fool was bored.
Charge: One that has a Contract with one of the Greater Arcana. Basically… YOU.
Character Design:SpoilerThe most defining part of a character is their powerset, this is determined by a simple factor. The Player character will make a contract with one of the Arcana, one that allows them to receive the powers of that deity. The powers take on different forms based on the host though they must somehow relate to the four domains that the God or Goddess presides over in some manner. Furthermore, only one character that has a contract with a particular Arcana may exist at any given time. This is due to one simple fact, the Arcana’s contract gives power by bonding of the soul. The Arcana must reside within the human that are contracted to them to give them power in this way. A transformation form for the activation of one’s powers or on the completion of their contract isn’t necessary but is 100% encouraged.
Contract Powers are generally measured in their effectiveness in four major areas, they also have an aspect that is a gift from The Arcana that is supplying the Power to the charge of the contract.
Swords, the Suit of Conflict: This suit represents the power’s propensity towards outward action in the physical realm. It often is the indicator of how effective the power is at inflicting harm or coming out on top in a contest of opposed might.
Cups, the Suit of Charisma: This Suit represents the power’s propensity towards outward action in the interaction which other parties. It is that which represents the strength of bonds, ability to make connections and the strengths those connections will typically have.
Wands, the Suit of Trickery: This Suit represents the power’s propensity towards inward action that can meet a myriad of criteria. It is in a sense, creativity the limitless bounds of utility that lies between the valley that is the domain of Swords and Cups. Ingenuity, and the ability to introspect and improvise.
Coins, the Suit of Ambition: This Suit represents the power’s propensity towards the inward actions that involve the Arcana. As a symbiote, the power that is had comes through the Arcana that grants it. However, through one’s own ambition they may more rawly control how that power make itself manifest and be less reliant on the Arcana to use the power for them.
Fortunes, boons granted by the Gods: Fortunes are key aspects of one’s power that are bestowed by the Arcana themselves. How they are useful may not immediately be known, but in time it shall duly manifest. This part of your character will be created after character creation by The Arcana you make a contract with to suit you. After all, they are a gift from the Arcana themselves, you cannot create a gift for yourself,it must be given to you.The Arcana each have an aspect that they prefer to use for solutions. It’s notable as well, that each Arcana has their own stats in these areas but they are measured on a scale separate from humans so the values would be incomprehensible.
The Fool enjoys to solve problems with an unexpected element! Using the Suit least suited for the situation at present other than Coins. The Magician knows that great potential lies in places unseen. The Suit you’ve used the least.
The Stewardess prefers one adhere to the order of The World. Hates the use of Coins.
The Empress likes those that show growth and intuition, as well as those that solve problems without resulting to forceful measures. Cups and Coins.
The Emperor enjoys displays of power and the ability to apply little known knowledge. Swords and Wands.
The Hierophant prefers the method that causes both sides to learn about one another or for the Hierophant to learn about their Charge. Cups and Coins.
The Lovers know that the best way to someone’s heart is to appeal to them with honeyed words. Cups. However, they are extremely adverse to the use of Swords unless there is no other option available.
The Chariot prefers to show their charge the means to victory and have them lead the charge. Coins.
Strength prefers the ability to triumph by any means necessary. Any Suit that pleases their charge so long as it isn’t Coins.
The Hermit trades in the secrets of the world and chooses often to teach humanity in riddle. Wands.
Wheel of Fortune prefers to roll the dice, and leave worldly matters to their Charge. Coins.
Justice knows sometimes you must use force, others times it is words that make purchase. Swords and Cups.
The Hanged Man knows that one must sometimes take the toughest road to find enlightenment. The suit that your character is weakest in except Coins.
Death, She seeks to reveal, and to show paths to new means. The Suit you haven’t used in the longest time.
Temperance has no preference,as all things should be applied when the time calls for them. Using the Suit that most applies to the current situation
The Devil prefers to waggle its silver coloured tongue. Cups and Wands.
The Tower knows that all is inevitable, force is the most effective means. Swords.
The Star prefers to inspire their charge to greatness and fill them with the light of hope. Coins.
The Moon prefers indirect methods to solve the issues she faces. Wands and Coins.
The Sun prefers directness and tackling the problem proactively. Swords and Cups.
Judgement prefers swift action and decisiveness. Swords and Coins.
The World prefers no aspect. However, it is noteworthy that Coins stands to be useless in the presence of the World.
Rules:
- Remain Calm. Things will not always go your way. This is okay.
- No Meta’ing, Powergaming, or any other types of RPG taboos. We shall not go over them in detail here but this doesn’t mean that they are not problematic behavior.
- This goes without saying, however, a reminder. Be respectful of your fellow players.
- At times you will face conflict with Your Arcana. Just because they are part of your character doesn’t mean they will always agree with your character actions or just allow you to take actions they don’t approve of right in front of them. They are characters each their own. (A reminder here as well, your Arcana is played by me, the GM.)
- Keep Suism in check. Mary Sues aren’t truly a binary, off/on kind of deal. They are more fluid a concept. So please use your better discretion. I will let you know if you’re going too far in that direction.
- Most importantly, let’s have fun ye?

Nadia
"You got it cowboy." the only words that Nadia said as she turned to go. She was more than fine working on her own even if she was working with another. lt was easier to move about without a group clinging to her back. /Saber, we best get of dodge if that Berserker is coming back. Even if there's something of alliance here, well if he dies due to that beast can't say l'll be too sad... just means more work for us to off his target l suppose. But l don't feel like helping him fight whatever that Berserker is. So, let's make like the wind and get back to my humble abode. We can se up a better base of operations there./ she said over their mental link. She headed off in that direction sure that Saber would follow her.
Berserker
The Beast continuing running on all fours, he traveled in a manner that expnded less energy this time, not using his full might to fling himself about to and fro. After all, the ever fraying rope he was tied too couldn't take much more abuse. Tsk, such a frail master he was tied to... a shame. He wanted to act free, and not rely on a worm such as this to sate his hungers and carnel desire. However such was the cruelty. lt wasn't as quick as his chase with the Lancer, but The Beast made the distance still quicker than even most Servants could, his top speed was quite a nightmare even without using momentum to his advantage.
When he approached the area where his master was... where he'd had left him as he so recalled, he sense a new presense. He smelled... Two new ones in fact. One was hard to pick out almost as if they were some sort of ghost that masked their own presence. As if they existed but did not at the same time. The scent reminded him of that clay girl he had once fought with... the one who had no true form. Her scent was always curious. There but also not. He choose to invetigate that scent.
He couldn't see anything but... he knew they were there. He could smell them. He stared directly where they were "standing". All Liliya saw in the darkness was two burning emerald eyes, eyes filled with a inhuman hatred. They judged silently clearly aware of her presence despite her spirit form. She couldn't make out any specifics of the figure, they last remants of the storm cloaked it just enough to hide the details. However... she could make out it's hulking inhuman frame. lt was clear this creature whatever it was... it was what she was to be looking for. -
Vixen
Vixen quickly listened to the Al and landed on the hull of the corvette, though... she could've just spun up her warp drive, she figured she'd not argue for the sake of staying in contact with the corvette if need be. "l've got a mighty itch to shoot these bastards l'll tell ya. l wasn't made for sitting back and waiting. We'll be there soon yes? l'll probably part ways earlier than you may expect. This lnterceptor is equipped for long range... perhaps an oddity in this type of combat but it's design is to rip apart anything that doesn't imploy shielding." she said just trying to fill the dead tvme with something. Vixen when she was alone would often think to herself to pass the time... however he Al being onboard made her feel some strange obligation to speak aloud instead.
"Hmmm... l'mma have to explain this, well you, to my bosses later. That's gonna be a shitshow and a half. Maybe, l just won't. Whatever. l'll figure that out once we actually get out of this alive, and not a second sooner." -
Move to F13, Glaive another Horsey.

a sheet, enjoy~
SpoilerForum Name: Hukuna the Undying
Character Name: “Madame” Nastasia Susanna Sinclair
Alias: Shackled Ninefold Archangel
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Nastasia looks the part of a noblewoman through and through. She wears overly lavish dresses and other statuses or power and wealth. She tends away from overly gaudy jewelry believing it to be too desperate a plea for attention and instead chooses to augment her natural beauty. She prefers brilliant blues as they compliment her eyes and hair, a vibrant blonde, more than other colours. She would never be caught dead in purple, such a cliche colour. She wears her hair in tube curls that reach down to her waist in length.
Mech Appearance: lt appears as a giant castle with a somewhat gothic type of feel to it. It has massive limbs similar to arms and legs though it’s frontlimbs are the more massive of the two. However the size of these makes them ineffective weapons and they are more to locomate at all then anything else.
Personality: Nastasia despite her young age is well known as a quite freugel and harsh business woman. Ruthlessly calculating, sharp as a razor, her intelligence was a gift that was well evident even when she was a young child. She often found herself to be better than the common person, and this only grew and grew as the Farming Complex her and her father built grew and thrived, mostly on account of her acumen. Nastasia, while she respects power does not bow to it. That would only mean she was the lesser in that situation. She is no one’s lesser. She greatly respects her late father, a man who always took care of her and tried his best, though she was truly the wind beneath his wings, he tried to soar that she may live a better life than himself.
Mechs Stats:
- Speed: [0] Due to the mech’s overall size it’s barely capable of a crawl. However, dodging isn’t really in it’s gameplan so there’s no need for it to worry about movement or speed. It’s so weighed down by it’s armour that it’s not a viable plan of action. It’s armour is too be relied on rather than wimpy things like dodging. It does have the ability to move but this mostly is just to help it keep distance when trying to keep an enemy in the most effective zone of fire. It’s very minute but can make a difference.
- Melee: [0] Who needs to punch things… when you got guns out the wazoo? Despite it massive arms the mech is not good at traditional forms of melee and rather than swing around it’s hulking mass ineffectively it’s better to just synth explosions on top of itself rather than smash into the enemy mech.
- Firepower: [6] This mech utilizes a type of technology to synthesize explosive energy and channel it for the uses of damage and area denial known simply as “Divine Seraphic Engine: Wreathe of Synthesis, Type: Destruction ”. As the systems have no true payload they can’t be delivered at quite the range of normal explosive type ordinance causing it to be more effective at medium to close range rather than over long distance.
- Armor: [9] The mech is armoured to the nines trying to protect from reasonably every attack that can be imagined though as much as possible to resist the strain from using its own weapons at pointblank range. It’s normally a gamble to use such a tactic however this mech is designed to resist explosives much more than the average one. It’s quite resistant to heat and energy based weaponry as a result as well.
- Signature Attack: Divine Judgement: An attack that focuses the mech’s systems to their maximum output and vapourize anything with explosive energy, no exceptions. This attacks conditions are “if the Holy Shroud of Retribution cannot be forced from me, it shall fuel the wrath of the Heavens.”
- Special Ability: Holy Shroud of Retribution: an auxiliary system found within the technology that fuels Explosion Synthesis that generates and builds an explosive force to be used as an ultimate weapon. Known simply as “Divine Seraphic Engine: Holy Shroud of Retribution, Type: Wrath” however the charge of this ability can be fired early at the cost of having to rebuild to Divine Judgement. This attack unleashes a similar explosive force though not at the same power of course. This explosion centers on the mech and radiates outward pushing anything nearby away and if it can’t… turning it to dust.

Nastasia uses her aptitude for conversation more than anything else. Though, mostly through intimidation tactics and ruthlessness. She’s somewhat okay at reading people and uses this knowledge to mess with the targets of her words. She’s an expert at getting what she wants and giving away little in the process. She uses her abrasiveness to great effect to either get a rise out of marks. Her mastery for such horrifying at such a young age. -

"Well, it wasn't exactly a choice persay. Similar to the rest of you l'd imagine, they swept me up while l was minding my own business. l was alone, and caught off guard so there wasn't much hope at that point." she went quiet for a moment, enjoying the stroking of her hair. "Perhaps they figured a Maid was an easy enough target. Didn't really notice them in time cause they approached from the side my eye is missing. Pretty smart move on their part, though don't really want to compliment my captors cause that's kinda weird l think...? l'm not really into that kind of thing anyway."
Chance realized she hadn't still really answered the question, jumping slightly at the revelation. lt was a small one but, due to how she was up against Doran at the given moment he was sure to have felt the movement. "As to why they needed a Maid... l'm unsure. l think that Lord was just a bit too spoilt to not have one. But, l was trained to do maid work and so l did. They didn't really pay me for my services at least... in money or somehing of the sort but they paid me in treating me somewhat more like a human being. That's where alot of the similarites to your plight end. l was never in any cages or... even restrained really. l was allowed to walk about the grounds and do as l saw fit so long as l didn't try and leave. Due to the service l was performing it wasn't possible from them to treat me like a tool an object to perform labor. l was cooking, cleaning and taking care of those sorts of tasks. l had to be in good health and there was only one of me so they couldn't afford my decline. So in a way l was blessed. Not that.. l wanted to be there or anything... clearly. l'm here and all. But l wasn't subjected to that which you were. l tried to sneak food to the prisoners sometimes, but l couldn't reveal myself to them. l think some of them came up with a story that an angel was watching over them... Though l don't think l'm much of an angel." -

"Oh but of course. After my watch of course. Sleep does a body good after all!" Chance mused chipper as ever. She was enjoying the headpats as she felt a strange sense that someone was cooking some vile abomnation that could barely be called food nearby. Her Maidy Senses were rarely wrong, so it probably was occuring but... headpats were more important. lt was nice they didn't just force her to do the cooking though.
Chance figured she'd get roped into it... given the quite obviously a Maid thing. lt waspart of aMaid's duty to do the cooking and about everything elseimportant in a household. Maybe they assumed she wasn't good at cooking when she didn't have the proper equipment, or perahps they just kinda forgot she existed given most of them still hadn't even bothered to introduce themselves. However, Chance didn't really care. Headpats...they were all that mattered. -

Meredith bowed towards the source of her new found energy. She'd felt the feeling before in battle, the work of dancers and the like. She had always wondered how they managed such with just the movement of their bodies, but now was hardly the time for ponderance. "Thank you for the pick-me-up Tiny Dancer.~" She continued on her way with, the heavy glaive in hand. lt wasmuch heavier than the lance she was used to for sure. But it was nothing that could phase Meredith. Endurance waswhat she was built for if not expolsive strength. She carried the bloodied instrument slung over her shoulder positioning to take down another of the horseman galvanting around like they owned they place.
Well... they kinda did this was their land... but Meredith wasn't about to let this lot do just as they pleased.

Chance took the opportunity to cuddle up to Dorian. He was the only person she had the name of anyway besides he was nice enough. Chance stuck mostly to the fruit, she preferred sweeter things and she doubted that this meat really met the qualifaction. She also figured she should stick with lighter things for now as she'd not eaten well in quite some time. "Well, l can take second, since l'll probably be up most of the first anyway. l'm a bit of a night owl.~ "
She nuzzled into Dorian's shoulder a little "So l guess l can keep you some company on the first then. Hope you don't mind~" -
Nadia
Try as he might, Nadia noticied the tone in her new acquiantence's voice. Whether it was that obvious or Nadia was quite adept at this sort of thing... who knew? Nadia couldn't really blame him though, mages were quite stuck in their ways. Technology saved a lot of time and headache that's for sure... "No, l do. l'm not as antiquated as some of our peers. l have plenty of reasons to break tradition... though if you know who l am you already understand that." She said, looking wistfully at Blank's case. The Sword she took her family crest with... the one she used to wrest it from her father's clutches. lt was probably well known in the magic world... the tradegy of the Darke family.

Nadia
Nadia looked back at the assassin who had moved and stared at her for a good moment before waving again. /l know where Assassin is, and further what she looks like. Rather typically European, average hieght, athletic build. Seems to have a fondness for brown as that's the colour of all of her prominent articules of clothing. lt also happens to be the colour of her hair and her eyes./ Nadia squinted to be sure if she saw this next thing clearly before continuing. /She also seems to have some scarring on her hands. A few cuts, most on the back of her hands. Given the size and shape, most definitely from knives. Not self inflicted. Seem to be similar to draw cuts... Perhaps uses them herself? Might be too much of a leap but l know scars. They speak to me, these definitely look like something one would acquire in a fight using similar weaponry as their opponent.//Her master seems to be magehunting another in the war and as a result had to join themselves to be able to take out a man who now has a servant at his beck and call. Says he'll leave after he gets his mark, wants nothing to do with the war. How certain on that... l'm not but if they try anything lf we've been with them well... l'm sure you can handle them at that point with all of your observations. lt seems they have an injured master with them as well... one l'm less than confident in. His injuries l believe are from overdraw of his mana. That likely means Berserker. Feel free to show yourself as well, after all, l know where Assassin is, you shouldn't feel the need to hide yourself. Besides, saves me the trouble of having to explain who my servant is. Notably, they've not even asked. Peculier if l say so myself./
"Ah, of course. information is paramount after all." she said turning back to face Karsten again. "l mostly worked off my own information, but l know the advantages of others, who perhaps ply the trade of intelligence, conduct that work. Regardless, if we are working together perhaps proper introductions are in order." she said curtsing for some reason. "Nadia Darke. Charmed~" the lilt to her voice seeming to imply that name should mean something.
Berserker
The movement however had left Visrii open, he wasn't quite as fast as he thought it would seem or underestimated the Beast's ability. Often a fatal mistake, however in this instance the Lancer would get a lighter sentence. Ashnard's other arm wheeled around with a speed unexpected as his other attack was knocked askew. As the motion was spur of the moment it wasn't as precisely aimed as the other, barely missing center of mass. Visrii flet as the Beast's arm punched through his midriff, and the beast's hand lodged itself into his gut. The newfound warmth caused the Beast to hum with a grim satifisaction. Blood once more soaked his fur. lt felt euphoric. But, something else pulled at the back of hismind, tht his time for now was up. lf he wished for more time he'd have to leave now. He could perhaps kill this not-so-knight if he had the infinite time, but the clock was about to strike midnight. His time had gone faster than he had thought.
He laughed to himself as pulled his arm out, now wet with crimson. Hopping back, he spoke. "Rejoice! My time is up! You should run to that little master of yours. She faces more threats to her safety than l, perhaps greater ones. l want to fight servants, not small fry. So go, make sure she's safe. l want to be the one to kill you."he ran off without another word, much more silent this time, though... it was mostly due to the fact there wasn't many building left to crumble on the path he had already traveled. -

Vixen was going to assist, as directed, in getting the corvette into position however she couldn't find a way to hail it that was remotely simple. Anything she could do would probably take way to much time to bypass all the jamming signals and what not it was spewing out.But then she thought of something. "Hey, Kella. You came from the corvette ye? l need to get in touch with your friend to help uh... orchestrate this mission. You have any way to patch me through all the jammers? You got into the Cleansing Rain somehow." Vixen said looking about her ship until focusing back the the screen Kella was on. lt was a bit strange conversing with Kella for Vixen as... it felt like she was everywhere and yet nowhere. Vixen, while she was sure others would chasitise her for this, still feltan overwhelming sense of curiosity about Kella, wondering just how she functioned how she could occupy her ships computers and so on.

Kaede
Apparently breaking the hourglass wouldn't work either, as they once more stood here in the moment they had prior. The damned persistence in this one. Kaede was unsure what to do, to give in... but she supposed that Alva was unwilling and that while that was the case she'd not either. So long as she so chose to fight for her freedom and to retain control of her fate... so would she. Perhaps... perhapsit was wrong of her to fight only on someone else's behalf. But... Kaede couldn't help but feel some part of her desire to fight for this girl. Why, she didn't know. She was surprised she felt anything over this or... anything with such clarity. She couldn't decipher it, but she didn't really care. The feeling wasn't grey... lt was different from the grey and indifference she always felt. Perhaps she was meant to follow this up...

Spoiler
this combat is prettymuch irrelevant so long as Renee hits and given she has a % to hit... l'mma just award here the hit and the 2 exp for the combat to the group cause like...screw being stingy over it and trying to seeif l roll a 100 to screw ya'll out of 2 exp that's stupid. Regardless the damage to Renee doesn't matter nor can Renee remotely kill.
Just as a heads up for why l'm not running this combat. With a final stroke from Renee,it quite clear this battlewill go nowhere. The figure makes it clear by their stride that they do not aim to kill them unless they remain in their way. Coel gives one last hardlook towards Castle Calmary. lt was a home he had built. So was Padstow. But, it seemed for now that this land away from the worldwas to fall. He clutched his staff close, the simple staff with only a small crux at the end. The Symbol of the Hierophant.

"Come, we must make haste. There's somewhere l know we can go. lt will be a long trek but l'm sure we can make it."Chapter Complete. Victory... well at the least you still have your lives. Perhaps a victory in and of itself.
Post-Prologue: The Meloncholy Night.
After a time, the group is sure they have not been followed by any of shades that had attaked them prior. The remaining ones must have been ordered against such actions. Whoever that figure was, they were true to their word and did let them go. lt didn't relieve the sting of loss much however. Their home had fallen, it perhapswasn't gone but it now lay in the hands of some unknown forceclearly led by that figure. To what purpose, to what end? lt wasn't really truly known. The attack was sudden, brutal. lt seemingly had no meaning. lf something greater were at playit be unbeknowst to the men and woman gathered here. The night grew old now, they had been moving for quite some time. Coel stoppedfor a moment to catch his breath.
He wondered what became of those that had run before, those that had evacuted prior to the assualt. He had hoped that Brinda knew of the safe place he did, that she had remembered what he had told her. She probably did knowing that one. Her mind was a keen one and she never forgot something no matter how small whispered within her presence. He knew that his people would be safe in her hands, but he couldn't help but worry. He had to put it aside for now though, he had his own flock to worry about. Those that were alongside him now. And, himself as well. He felt a burning in his lungs form all this hurried movement. lt wasn't good for his old bones. He decided to speak up, rather than push forward. They were safe for now in the deep forests of the mountains around Padstow. "l..." he started to speak, before losing his train of thought for a moment. He doubted his prior thought for amoment, before regaining his composure. lt was a strange thing to see of Coel. Something that was certainly a slip in his typical character. Haunting almost, if not for what had transpired thi night already it would have hit all the harder. But, anyone would crack in these times. Though, leaders were supposed to be above this. Though they were human, they were more than human. Coel's humanity could be seen. What that meant to those gathered here...well hard to say.
"l believe for now, we should make camp. We must rest. Take... some time. My old bones won't last me much longer this night l'm afraid." he said trying to keep a smile on his face. He moved off to the side of the path and slumped against an old and mighty oak. He waited for the rest to take suit and follow his lead. -

Meredith grits her teeth, this fight was going to be tough. She couldn't help but think about that battle she had so long ago... but that was certainly different. Those men fought for country, for their home to be free from tyranny. Their resolve meant something,it was important. These men as far as she could tell fought only for their own gain. She took a deep breath, centering herself. She nodded solemnly at the ghosts of the past, the men and women that once tried to take her life. "l'm not going to die here. l will bring the freedom you sought, the new age for our shared nation of Dragao. lwish l could've fought alongside you instead, but can't change the past now."
She once more took the heavy armament in hand and swung all of it's weight at the foe she came across first. "Die!!!"
Move to D13, attack Cavalry 5 with the mighty Glaive!!! -
"We don't really have any other options Rhees. Not if we're going to ever take this thing down, we have to now while we have the oppertunity. l shouldn't have to tell you that the toasters having The Southern Cross is not going to end well and people are definitely going to die, worlds will die if we let them get it fully operational." Vixen sighed she didn't think she'd have to really defend this to Rhees of all people. She looked down at the Al, Kella as she so choose to now be known. She supposed in any other situation she'd not be all that trusting... well. She honestly didn't know that. This was all a bit strange. Dealing with people was such a pain. Vixen rebroke the silence before anyone was able to speak again.
"Look, l'm escorting this ship by myself if l have to. We might as well be dead if we let the Resanti have the Southern Cross. lt's damaged now, this is our best shot to take it out. As l've said before, this is our only real option. lf we retreat one of the strongest ships the galaxy has ever known will only befitted to be even more powerful. We cannot just let the Resanti have a weapon of this magnitude. You already know that."
