Matthew & Ellaria
"Uhmn, sorry. But what do you mean by 'a coin flip'?'
Matthew took a moment to recollect himself from the noise prior to Ellaria's question, "I was one of the best gamblers around, but it came back to bite me. This coin was a gift from my daughter, who is dead..." He was beginning to get choked up as he spoke. Just mentioning his daughter was enough to bring him near tears, but he managed to fight back the tears as he continued, "I can flip this coin, but there is a catch. Heads, it'll work and tails, it'll fail. It's a bit complicated to explain." He claimed.

"I don't think a coin flip would be of any use for getting around the wall, Ellaria..." He remarked, before he covered his ears from the writhing noise that pierced their conversation, 'Is this bloody maze alive...?' he thought as he was kept his ears covered as the floor had been glowing black, 'This is beyond bizarre...' He mumbled under his breath to himself as he glanced towards Ellaria.

Matthew stopped as Ellaria did to test the wall, "Well, if we can't go one way, then logically we have to go the other way, so heading right would be in our best interests, Ellaria." He claimed, hoping he could try and get some sort of discussion going between them as a change of pace from the silence they had between them.

Matthew took a calming breath as he followed after Ellaria, 'I don't mean any harm, but she does remind me of her...' ran rampant through his thoughts as he tried to keep up with her, "Let's just hope that there is a passage to meet up with them, Ellaria" He remarked, slipping a hand into one of his jacket pockets, keeping the other grasping the coin around his neck.

"I promise not to do a thing to her. She reminds me of someone that was very close to me personally." Matthew responded, "I'll explain myself when we meet one another, depending on if we can find a way across or around this wall." He added afterwards as he merely gazed at the wall.
The more he thought about it, the harder it was to find an answer, "Nothing is coming to me, Ellaria." He claimed, hoping he could be of some assistance to her. -
Matthew took a calming breath that he didn't cause any physical harm to Ellaria, before hearing the thwacking noise from the opposite side of the wall, "i promise that I didn't harm her in any way." He added after Ellaria, hoping that he could be trusted between them. running a hand through his blonde hair he glanced towards the wall, 'There has to be a way to get around to whoever is on the opposite side...' He thought to himself, grasping his lucky coin in his free hand.

The question that the girl had asked in response to his had caught him off guard from her words, "My name is Matthew Addler, I do hope that I didn't hurt you." He answered, before taking a deep breath, "Mind if I ask who you are, miss?" He asked afterwards as he ran a hand through his blonde hair, glancing towards her as she was the first person he had met within the maze.

As Matthew had been running throughout the maze, he had been stopped in his tracks after having bumped into something or someone from the walls of the maze having returned to their previous color. He slowly staggered back to his feet as he dusted himself off, shifting his gaze towards what or rather, who he had bumped into, "Hey, are you alright?" He asked questioningly as he glanced down at the younger girl, hoping he didn't cause any serious injury to her.

The sound of screaming was rather faint as it had reached Matthew's ears, causing him to begin picking up his own speed as the mental image of seeing his daughter being shot before his own eyes filled his thoughts as he tried to rush towards the source of the screaming voice, hoping it wasn't just his mind playing tricks on him, "Let's hope that this isn't what I think it is..." He muttered under his breath as he ran down the various corridors and hallways of the maze, occasionally running into a few dead ends along the way.

Sparks-- I know; at this point, think of it like this: 25% to work, 25% to work but backfire, 25% to fail, 25% to fail but backfire (meaning it works). It's still 50/50, there's just different scenarios with which it works or fails
alright then, a simplified understanding as 4 chances of 25/25/25/25 sounds understandable

Kenny-- alright, just make sure that it's roughly half and half. I'll trust you to be fair on this.
Dobby-- well, I mean, the negative coinflips can backfire too, and if something bad backfires it ends up good, right?
Commander-- we'll understand; everyone is busy with school and whatnot so we may all be a little sluggish when posting. I'm glad you took note that Evan's powers are moreso versatile because as you said, a lot can be done with them...
Thinking over what Dobby said, A coin flip is naturally 50/50, so it's a bit confusing to think about with the 50% chance to backfire in the maze.

Matthew heaved a heavy sigh, before rubbing his hands together from the temperature drop to prevent hypothermic conditions from sinking in, 'Man, it's cold down here...' He muttered under his breath. Shifting a hand into one of his jacket pockets, while gripping his necklace with the other as he read the words that had been illuminated by the light of the circle, "So, it's everyone for themselves now?" He questioned to himself as the thought of his daughter had flooded his mind.
"Daddy's coming for you, baby girl..." He claimed as he had released his grip on the coin, before making his way into the maze cautiously to keep an awareness of his surroundings as he was fending for himself inside of the maze, keeping the illuminated words in mind as he ventured forth.
