So, update on the game and stuff -

I'll be doing, yet another Eventing livestream tonight, for those of you interested, and for those of you who are, do check the status posts tonight, as I'll be doing quite a long one, as to catch up on some progress. Also, in regards to the recent animation for the ending, here is a little update: (also this is totally wallpaper material XD)

Side note: Why is Photobucket so freaking bugged? I click upload at the top of the screen and it signs me out, every time, and it pretends like it doesn't remember my sign in information. It's so weird.

I'm sure you're wondering "this doesn't look like it will be very animated" well, this is only the first 10 seconds of the ending animation, and I'll be showing off the full extent to this at a later date. For now, though, enjoy the pretty colors XD Also, this ending is actually a reference to a certain anime that I tend to watch a lot of, so for those of you familiar with this aesthetic then you're free to say what it is it's referencing XD

    The beauty of this though

Well, the thing is - with Manga and artwork it's a much different story than video games being marketed. There was an article that I read online about why convention goers who sell prints/merch of their artwork or stuff in relation to copyrighted characters aren't given C&D's or sued, is because Nintendo/Game Freak cannot tell people who do that to stop. Because, those people aren't making a living off of 1 time only prints or merchandise and conventions.

The article in question is here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/the-law-of-anime/2013-02-15/2

And I mentioned Patreon for my manga, because I see various Japanese Pixiv artists with Patreon's all the time, especially those who do Nuzlocke comics on dA, and they haven't been warned since. Also, if you search Ebay for Pokemon doujins, you will see many of them being sold on there, especially weird shit like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pokemon-YAOI-Doujinshi-Comic-Emmet-x-Ingo-Kudari-x-Nobori-Bound-Angurametoro-/381926278147?hash=item58ec948403:g:jxIAAOSwopRYfSRC <--- is actually a thing.

    And this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pokemon-Black-and-White-Doujinshi-Dojinshi-Comic-N-x-Hilda-Present-for-you-/381645964352?hash=item58dbdf4440:g:nF0AAOSwSWJXQnqt

Yeap I'm pretty sure nobody gets hunted down or sued for comics, fanart, doujins and even custom-made pokemon plushes or figurines. I know a couple of folks who make pokemon comics and have an open patreon too. No harm in doing that at all.

Judging by the title of these links, there's no way I'm clicking on them :x

I haven't posted anything in awhile, but that's mostly because I've been extremely ill. I'm feeling much better, now, except emotionally, given that I've been out of school for 5 whole days, and I have 2 classes that I cannot fail at all, and have no idea what's been going on in it since. Aside from that, I've started up work on my game again, finishing up events and trying out some new things, while including the Christmas and Halloween costumes into the game.

Also, I wanted to ask my followers a question, before people freak out on me. Now, how would you guys feel if my Manga Artist set up a Patreon for the Manga of my game? And I say my Manga Artist and not me, because if I ended up setting one up, they'd assume all that money would go towards my game, which is in fact illegal and frowned upon. Which is not the case. The reason why I say that is because it would help with the cost of printing pages and actually binding the pages of the manga, because I don't know if any of you know this or not, but that stuff costs a miniature fortune (at least for a college grad), so we're planning using Patreon money to help cover for the costs of binding so that way I can focus on paying for the pages of the manga. I don't want a Patreon for my game, since I pay for everything myself and I'm too much of a proud bastard to accept money from fans, to help make my game. However, the manga is a different story, given how much it costs to make, and print pages, as well as get bindings for said pages. It helps her out in the long run, and the manga can be printed for a longer running.

Not a cent goes to me, and all of it goes towards the manga, which... honestly... I prefer way more over the game, but that's just personal bias. And mostly because I can do whatever I want with the visual gags, and other funny stuff that I couldn't do with the game.

What do you guys think, before I get chased out of Reborn by an angry mob with Shotguns?

Good that you're passing it off. Make sure to inform yourself about those 2 classes, even if you have to ask randoms for their notes. Or... just e-mail the teachers about it. I hope they'd be helpful enough to let you know what you missed.

Do not forget to take a break from the game if your school work is threatening to have you get in trouble.

Regarding the manga patreon stuff. I'm personally not much of a manga reader so it doesn't affect me directly, but I see no reason why any artist should not start a donation fund via patreon for the work they do. Whoever wishes to support them can do so. As a university student myself, I'm well aware of how tedious printing is when it comes to costs so there's no doubt there at all. I say, the artist should by all means go for it. After all, nobody is obliged to become a patron.

  4. What? Is this a reference to something, because I'm not getting it.

Also, as an aside to this, I am genuinely curious why some of you people follow my game. What is it that you people see in my game that I don't? Because, I am immensely baffled as to why people even follow this.

Yo dood, if you truly found nothing worthy of following in regards to your game, you wouldn't be even making it public. Plenty of things to look forward to and keep an eye on, the first of which is it being a crossover that actually incorporates the elements of both sides quite well

  5. This is probably among my favorite Generations episodes so far. The whole sequence, bgm, dialogue and everything was quite epic. That cliff though.

On a side note, Archie and Shelly are exactly as I imagined them

    Also..

    d2d5f715bf.jpg the poor mishie :(

  6. That last episode practically "confirms" that the trio are indeed legendary dogs. The silhouettes resembled hounds or some form of dog. I still find it incredibly weird given that 2/3 of the trio are wild cats...and yet they're called dogs.. Oh well, I enjoyed these 2 episodes. It was nice to see Silver and Johto lore overall has always been awesome.

  7. That last ep showed some real brutality on Dragonite's part. It was epic. That poor rocket admin ate so many zaps too. I found it weird that they felt the need to shadow Gold's face, but I can understand where they're coming from. The champion theme was also awesweet. I really wish these were longer than 5mins, they're so epic

  8. Agreed there^ . I'm an avid fan of visual novels so walls of text don't really bother me much as long as they're informative and not a snooze-fest content-wise, but in a game like yours, I'm not too sure what it'd look like without knowing more details. Overall though, if your aim is to show an hour-long cutscene for the sake of letting people know how the training of each character goes, I really see no harm in making some of that training an active mini-quest as opposed to a passive viewing of the events. It's essentially seeing the same things, except by making some of it active, you would probably please the highest amount of people, all the while achieving the same result that you aimed for (best of both worlds? ).

  9. i personally have no problem watching something for 1 hour as long as it is interesting and has purpose in connecting the past and the future of a specific universe.

but many people might find it boring. so i actually suggest something very simple, yet for some reason not mentioned yet.

a choice to skip it. :|

Sometimes the simplest things are the easiest to miss :v

I'd agree that's an option as well indeed.. But I also think it's a missed opportunity to not let players experience different characters' training for themselves via mini-training-tasks ... It's something different and would make for an interesting feature if combined. I'd call it a middle ground of sorts

  10. You probably don't remember me but that's okay. I don't want to ramble about why I've been away for so long so I'll summarize quite simply - personal shiz. Regardless, I'm back in action and I hope that there are still fans who are there for me when I attempt to deliver an at least half decent game. I'm really surprised Desolation didn't die in my absence and I'm certain that should mean that I've got to work on it more to keep delivering.

There are a few things I need in the near future from you little pumpkins:

    - An experienced spriter

    - Someone experienced at designing tiles (this one is really really important)

    - People to act as helpers. I'll explain this in a little more detail. It takes a ridiculous amount of time for me to troubleshoot people's issues. I need someone that doesn't mind downloading and fixing someone's saves to be around quite frequently to help out. This person would be given the dev version of the game for easy fixing.

As always, I appreciate your ideas and suggestions in PM's. I hope I can continue to deliver - over and out Reborn.

Well hello there, welcome back to the world of living! I hope all or at least most of your personal issues have been resolved by now. There was no way this thread or game in general would die, it's plenty awesome even during a hiatus!

I hope you manage to find the people you need, I unfortunately suck at both tasks and don't have too much free time so I can't offer any assistance

  11. If it's something that really lasts an entire hour with no gameplay whatsoever, I agree with previously mentioned suggestions to add some mini gameplay in-between, such as mini training quests to do with the respective character or so, or..just something that is the highlight of their training and when you're done with it, the screen can fade to black and leave the player with the impression that the training didn't stop there, but continued off-screen

  12. I was kind of disappointed with Ep 3, mostly because I expected to see more of the battles rather than just...talk, progression, monologue .. Gengar's entrance is the best part though.. this is why I wish these were longer than 3-5min

  13. We already knew the theme from the trailer before. We didn't want another one.

You know, the title of ep1 is "The Adventure"... and, that's what the ep showed. The adventure of a trainer through the regions in 3mins. I don't think these shorts will follow a specific continuity pattern but rather, each ep is gonna be its own thing and its own theme from the POV of a different char. Ep 1 was Red/Pikachu's POV,ep 2 was Looker's. There will be one for Blue/Green too and so on

  14. That was quite exciting. To think all the Red scenes were in the first episode alone. That brings hope for the next eps to have POVs of other characters. The battle dynamic of that first ep was so awesome though. Such a shame these are 3-5mins long :( I wish there'd be an actual anime of this
