This is talking about segments when you're partnered with other trainers (Fern in tbe factory early on, Aya on route 3, etc). Many people may have noticed that the movement of followers was very jerky and odd, which (we hope) has been fixed

Oh....That makes sense too :0 Thanks for the reply!

  2. Thank you Ame and everybody else for all of your hard work!

As I read on the list of updates:

    *    Follower movement has been updated.

As a person who has held back on playing Reborn since episode 15, what exactly does this mean? Are following pokemon in the game now? Am I missing something obvious that I didn't see in the beta either? o.o Sorry for the stupid questions

Greetings from the exhaustion that is school! Good news, everyone! I got paid, which means more content, which means more stuff for you all to look at that has ultimately no meaning to any of you whatsoever! Why? Because I'm dull like that.

On a more serious note: Concept artwork won't be rolling out as much, due to the fact that... well... almost all the characters in my game have been conceptualized, sprited and finished. There's really no need for me to showcase more than I need to now. Unless I actually have more to showcase, in which case... yeah.

However, at the moment, I'm rolling out a couple update videos for my game, which some of you may or may not be interested in, who knows. I've also started working on locations after the Northern Base arc, and currently having the latter areas of my game tested. I do feel a little bad that I haven't been doing updates as frequently, but that's mostly because all the systems and gameplay mechanics are for the most part finished. Details on things regarding that have been a little but under the cover as I work on certain game mechanics behind the scenes, especially with how to make the battles more... different. As in how they play out that involves more player input than just "choose move, go". Been experimenting with that, as of late, but that final system may or may not be included in the final version of the game - who knows.

But, yeah, sorry for the lack of updates, I do apologize, but school's been hectic and I've been short on cash as of late. Especially since I've been focusing on the manga of my game, in terms of finances as of late, which... has been stressful to say the least. Several hundred dollars a month isn't something that I have at the ready 200% of the time, sadly.

Well I will never understand the need to continue spending money you don't always have on things that turn out to not generate much interest, but...you'll do you. I'm not even sure what you are referring to in the first bit of your post but ... o/

Even for your manga, don't stress yourself so much, there are always daily life necessities to take care of before you cough up a few 100s per month on that.  Take whatever time you need to rest and take care of things, we're all here waiting anyway

Update, because I haven't been doing that too much, as of late.

Currently, I am having my game tested, again, for some more, good-old, QA testing. Also, I changed some mechanics that I thought really needed to be changed, because I must've been high or something when I came up with the idea of Mega Evo's, and character transformations burning up your turn, but yeah I changed that. Also, the manga has been coming along pretty well. How well? Well, take a look for yourself :P

So, pretty darn good, considering! This coming summer is when Volume 1 will be officially up for sale, and you guys can freely read it at your leisure, during your breaks!

So, ever since my emotional stress has been at an all time high, I produced something that reflects how I felt. It's something that appears in-game as an optional scene between Vice and Vivian. It's a tad shippy, and the scene is quite long, so I just cut the gif down to the meat of what I find as the most striking part about the scene. Also, I created a new mechanic to the game called "Character Relationships". No, you cannot ship Vice with anyone besides what the story has planned for him, if that's what you're thinking.

What the new system does is that there are several new scenes that I created in the game that if you were to watch those optional scenes, certain characters' relationships with other characters will increase. Some of them are a little out of the way, and yes you can completely miss any opportunity of seeing the scene as they are only accessible during moments where the party is not all together. What this effectively does is that if one character is partnered with another character in battle there are random effects that can occur in battle, such as:

    • One character protecting the other, completely, from damage.
    • Increase critical hit ration for one attack
    • 10% stat buff for certain stats throughout battle, so long as they are partnered together
    • Can save a Pokemon from fainting and allowing them to hold on with 1HP.
    • Can produce unique in-battle conversations depending on how high their relationship level is

Since this is completely optional it has no real effect on the story of the game, besides more character building and development for said characters. However, the scenes, regardless if you watched them or not, will still be considered canon, but not mentioned unless you watched the scene. So, either way the scenes are canon and will be only referenced if you viewed it. I say that, because regardless of you watching them or not, they will be referenced in the follow-up, sequel to the game.

Hopefully your situation turned out for your ultimate good dood. Keep at it, you'll come out a better person from all this.

Anyway, it seems creative ideas come to people at times when their mind is experiencing a flurry of emotions, so at least we can say there is a positive side to all this?

  6. Well the first page's Q&A mentions no beta but doesn't really mention  much about game release, so the "stop asking about when game will be releases" part isn't that clear, especially given that there is a bit that says something about expecting it to take at least another year or so (and since the post is written in 2015 it ain't that weird for someone to ask)

Nice caves tho....I hate caves in pokeman games but still

Didn't you ask this before, a long time ago? I might be thinking of someone else with a Darkrai avatar. My answer is whenever it's released. I don't hold myself to a schedule, especially since I started working a full-time job at my University. I work on my game, whenever I have time and I'm not exhausted after work. At the moment I'm working on my game, but I'm finishing up some small touches before I let a few, select people, to play my game and test it.

    'Twas definitely someone else

I think that question is always gonna seldom come up again when people stumble upon the topic and dont feel like reading 41 pages o/

There is only 1 game, it does not follow any standard formula for any Pokemon game, thus 1 game only. It's not chapter based, and to clarify, this follows an J-RPG formula from the Tales series, so characters are gained as you progress through the story. You should probably refer to the videos that I have posted, in the forum post or even go through my YouTube playlists about my game. It'll answer your question and then some. Or even refer to my older posts.

Also, the end of the road arc applies to the previous game, and doesn't apply to this game. The previous game is structured in such a way, for me when I wrote the story for that game, that it helped me organize the story better. Mostly for my own convenience.

Just casually lurking to say that I also believe that creating a prologue/backstory/flashback story is a solid way to organize your main one better O:

I really only glance at this stuff and read little bits once in a while out of curiosity. I don't really read too much as you can really only experience a game once. But also, I'm very good at forgetting stuff so it usually works out.

Well, there is a very good reason why Vice and Marissa isn't a thing, and it would be very disgusting if I were to make it happen. For reasons you will find out, when you play the game to the end, because it is spoilerific.

Also, 2 new characters are scheduled to be made, along with a planned 2 other characters for the Next Dimension. I will talk about the first two now, since I have time. No artwork for awhile, for them though, since I've got to work on the ending animation.

The two new characters that I will be announcing are humans that were converted into Androids/Cyborgs/whatever you want to call them. They were regular human Trainers that were captured by the Dark Fangs for experimentation, however, they managed to showcase a Trainer skill level higher than most that they have challenged before, and try to coerce them into joining the Dark Fangs. Of course, they declined and were experimented on by Dr. Richter Dezel (oh, goddamnit) and converted them into half-human, half-machine Trainers so as to make them obedient and compliant to whatever orders were given to them. There are some interesting things that make them more skillful as Trainers, compared to regular humans, in that they are able to detect the slightest movements that a Pokemon can make and adjust accordingly to whatever the opposing Trainer orders them to do, which is a huge advantage in a battle. They are able to detect the slightest fluctuations in atmospheric pressure, and are able to respond quickly enough to issue orders faster than any normal Trainer. As far as appearance goes, they look and act like regular people, with a bit of a robot look in their eyes that gives a creepy vibe from them. Personalities are still intact enough to not be generic "robots".

That's all I can say about them for the time being, but this is something that plays heavily into the Northern Base and Volcano Base part of the game that's coming up ;D

I'm glad it's not a thing in any case
