    Why was the ban on blood donations from LGBTQ people lifted only temporarily? Did someone from Congress/the Senate get upset? I legitimately do not understand.

      Because some people still believe it's "GRIDS" and not "AIDS" for some moronic reason.

      To be fair, gay people tend to be more prone to catching it. This wouldn't be really a problem if tests were perfect. But they aren't, so in order to make to lower the risk that the blood is not infected, we have to treat certain groups differently.

      Remember, the only reason you should give blood is to help.
