  1. Grew out the rest of my beard during quarantine. It seriously took 3 or 4 months to grow out long enough so it didn't look terrible anymore. Took this picture right after I got my second haircut since quarantine started.

  2. This trailer immediately comes to mind. Between the amazing song by famous Japanese band, the introduction to what the story is about with in-game cut scenes, mixed in with actual gameplay, and featuring the beautiful aesthetics of the game, this really hyped me up for this game.

And you know what? The game turned out great. Loved it. I totally recommend it.

  4. Echo chamber

    Spoiler

    Type- Normal

    Attack Type, BP- N/A

User alters the acoustic setup of the field around the combatants. A sound move that alters stats has its effectiveness increased by one stage (ex., howl increases attack by 2 stages, screech decreases defense by 3 stages). An attacking sound move will hit normally, but at the start of the next turn, before either combatant can attack but after any combatant switch is initiated, the opponent will be hit by a reverberation for 25% of the original attack's power, ignoring evasion or type advantage/disadvantage, but negated by sound proof. Explosion/Self destruct deals 25% more damage and removes the field effect.

    PP- 10

Learned by- rock, steel, ground types and others capable of dexterous manipulation of tools and/or heavy objects.

Use: counter evasion, counter focus sash. counter protect. partial scrappy effect.

    ----

Day 1- I escaped prison only to be caught and stranded on a remote island with a bunch of strangers. I feel sorry for the others, but I’m gonna win this death game.

Day2- crafted a shovel first and started planting pitfalls along the river. Everyone's gotta drink sometime…

Day3- Stuck in the dirt, poor Cherry never knew what hit her. I put my shovel down. I took the axe from her unconscious hands and finished the job. 9 more to go.

Day4- Apollo almost had me with that first headshot from behind an apple tree. He really does have eagle eyes, doesn’t he? I blocked a few shots with my shovel, dove behind a tree, and dug myself a foxhole. He gave up eventually, unwilling to close the distance, but most of the daylight is already gone. Too late to do much but dig my foxhole deeper and plan out my revenge…

Day5- The wild bamboo near the river has finally grown long enough to suit me. I spent some time upgrading my pitfalls and fortifying my foxhole. Luckily, there’s a mango orchard and a river on two sides to provide protection and sustenance. I was fishing with a bamboo pole when I heard the snap, the yelp, and the shrieking. The glorious shrieking. It was a long lullaby that worked its charm quickly, after my productive day. I decided to give ‘em till morning to regret the life decisions that put 'em in my way…

  11. My suggestion would be to make outlines of how you want the story to go, character profiles, even a simple timeline of scripted events. Draw a crude map with simple descriptions, wild pokemon intended to be available in each area, etc. The more you have planned out and roughly visualized, the easier it will be to flesh out details with respect to how you want the story and progression to go. Get the whole plot outlined first, then maybe tackle more complex stuff like new game mechanics for last. Work with the basics first, then consider how your intended alterations would affect everything and how that changes the balance and challenges in the game. It would be too easy to get bogged down in all those complicated nuances and not get anything at all done if you were trying to do it all at once. Build from the foundation up. Your lofty goals and challenges at the top will crumble to nothing if the basics at the bottom aren't covered and planned out well. Anyways, that's how I think I'd tackle that creative process but I don't have any of the actual experience doing so. Maybe @Ame or the other devs can give you tips on that. But certainly, I don't think anyone would be willing to help you do any of the hands-on game making until you have a cohesive, comprehensive plan for a game that they think they will enjoy.

  12. I haven't played bl1 yet... but I've played the hell out of bl2. I started off playing Zero there cuz headshots + invisibility + hologram decoy shenanigans are my jam. But my favorite ended up being the siren, Maya. Some crowd control, heals on phaselock kills, cross map insta-reviving is TIGHT.

Plus, BL2 has maybe the best dlc's ever. Oh yeah, the handsome collection, which has has bl2 and the pre-sequel (forgettable tbh) and all their dlc's is free on ps+ and games with gold (xb1) for free. Meanwhile, BL1 is still selling for way too much.

  13. Look at you, skinny legend. Giving kyoyo a run for his money.

You should cosplay as a psycho or Krieg from Borderlands.

Oh yeah. Here's a new pic of the resident old guy. Cuz.

except since this pic I shaved the beard off and left the mustache. Now I look more like Mario, but honestly I look goofier now, so no picture of that. might just shave that off too and just let it all grow back. Odd to think that this is the first time I've shaved that all off in 4 years.

What are the odds I would pull up the forums again and actually catch the one relevant thread for me -relatively- soon after it was posted? It must've been meant to be.

I'm fashionably late as usual, but better late than never, right? Anyway, congrats on graduating, Ark! You always were one of my favorite people when I was actually active here, so it's kind of bittersweet to hear about your departure. That being said, I'm glad to hear I had any sort of influence on your time here, because you definitely influenced mine. I can't say I've had any impact towards that effect in recent years as I haven't really been around, but if you ever want to talk or do anything, you can hit me up wherever. Otherwise, best of luck to you and congrats again! Good luck in your field!

Right there with ya. When I first saw this myself, it was a few days ago. Ouch. Felt a little late to chime in. So thank you for helping me to do so.

Arkhi has been a great dude to talk to and is super fun to tease when gazelles are involved. Always willing to share things he thought others would also enjoy, and often to great effect. Easy guy to talk to and always in the spirit of making things more fun and enjoyable.

To Arkhi himself... I gotta say. If you can keep up that drive to do well and continue to push yourself to be an example for others for even just a tiny bit longer, you will be a better man than me- by miles. But that's kinda your style, isn't it? I believe in you and I know you're gonna do well. Take care buddy. And I'll be sure to hit you up on discord every now and then.
