If people want to get specific posts or content out of there then the content authors can PM staff to arrange it. hi! i'll get right to the point since you already have an idea of what's up from the topic title.
after various discussions of how we should handle things like Ace Membership and the EXP system, we've decided to put of them to rest. Since it was created, the EXP system never really lived up to its potential. a lot of that is on us as staff for not more actively rewarding participation but it's possible the system was impractical in the first place. further complicating this is the fact that the plug in we were using to support this system broke as of the site update a few months ago, making it even more inconvenient. we've talked about many ways to revise the EXP system, but in the end, nothing was agreed upon as being effective enough without unreasonably higher amounts of both staff and member participation.
as for the ace system, while we did explore alternatives to earning it since the proverbial doors have been closed last december, the conclusion we arrived at was that the status was no longer necessary. the original goal of the ace forum and membership was to create a sense of subcommunity for veteran users in a site that has been quickly growing for a long time. other incentives, like showdown quirks, beta testing, and whatever else there was, were added later to give it more purpose. at this point, we have decided we use little by letting it go, since our need for subcommunity can be better met by a new feature. in essence, it is being replaced with something for all users.
the keen user may already know just what that is from pecking around profiles and such on the site-- that's clubs! clubs are a new feature recently added to our software which allows forums to make their own groups, invite other users, schedule acitvities, and post topics to their own create forum areas. it's pretty nifty! there are several different types of clubs:
- public clubs can be accessed by anyone without joining,
- open clubs are visible and can be joined by anyone
- closed clubs can only be explored by members, and members must be approved by the leader
- and private clubs which are totally hidden except by joining through invitation
with these new features, we're happy to turn control over your subcommunities and groups over to you all, and we're interested to see how you can use them! users will have free opportunity to create private clubs, but for all other types we will ask for promised participation of at least five total members. just like in anime! now you can live your japanese high school dreams through here. wait, that's just me?? al-all right...
many of you, especially current Aces may be wondering what is going to be happening with beta testing if ace is going away. be not afeared-- current aces will be able to keep their testing status for future episodes as we will be moving beta activity to its own club. we will have a set number of slots which will probably increase with each episode. all existing aces will be the original club members, but only those who participate will remain for future tests. we will also accept applications from other users to occupy any free slots, however the application process is TBA. as a final note, please be advised that these changes will take effect after the Episode 17 beta, meaning nothing will be changing for the time being!
clubs will be set to full access at the same time EXP and Ace membership is retired, which is with E17's community release. At that time the Ace member group will be removed, and its priveleges will be freely distributed to Member and Veteran users. That means more ability to do stuff for you guys! Since it is no longer relevant to EXP, the daily reputation caps will also be greatly boosted so you can freely rep each other away!

I can see you put a lot of effort into it! The hair style is pretty slick and the outfit's design definitely isn't something that would be out of place in the city... By chance have you tested it to see how well it works in-game? At a glance some of the sizing seems off probably because of the different pixel resolutions so making that all consistent would be the next step. Keep it up!

Well that was arduous and totally broke the theme for a while.
Here are the changes added by tonight's update that might be relevant to you all:
- Smoother embedding for various types of things
- Two-factor authentication support for Authy
- Can drag and drop/copy paste right into post editor
- The 'Like' system has been expanded to include various reactions
- You can now sign in directly from social media
- Default avatars have been updated with the increasingly common trend of using the first letter of the username
- A device management addition will let you keep track of log ins from various devices
- Mods can now feature replies to a topic to make the most helpful responses more visible.
- Support for a certain other new system we may be announcing in the near future...
and probably some miscellaneous things too.
If you notice something off or broken, please let us know!

As one of the most active and most positive members for a long time, we feel that she's certainly earned the spot, and with the community always growing, there are certainly spots to be earned. Please give her a warm welcome (but not too warm! we don't want her to melt) and congratulations! All of the mods work hard to keep the community running clean and clear and I'm sure she'll do great along side them.
For her first magic act* she'll be making some discord channels disappear! It's been announced on the discord server already but the PSO2, BotW, SuMo, SU and Redemption channels will all be merged/rotated out as necessary to keep our channel list clean and relevant. Those channels could make a reappearance when new content makes them relevant again, but for now they're the stars of the vanishing act.
Additionally, the void has been marked as a NSFW for Discord's purposes meaning users now have to click an agreement in order to see it. Despite this, please remember that the actual rules of what's allowed in the void have not changed. It is an area that permits r7 content unlike other public channels but it is still not for posting outright porn. Tread in your glorious filth with caution.
*ICSW may not actually be responsible for these but she's still a witch so like, pretend or something, ne?

Looking to clean house around the community, we're adding a new rule for our servers. It's a pretty standard chat-etiquette deal: No flooding. It's important to keep other users in mind in environments like this, and dropping Berlin-size walls on a chat can have the effect of isolating other people from joining in. We're probably over-do on this one, since most communities have some form of this inherently. We decided against it in the past when we were concerned it might needlessly restrict things, but as the community continues to grow, so does its import.
For the purposes of this rule, flooding is considered to be any 15 consecutive lines of text by a single person, applying both to showdown and discord. Paragraphs and image previews count as one line each. Ideally this isn't something most user should have to worry about, but
please be cautious
about typing
like this
over long periods of time.

After receiving and reassessing a rather resilient romp of recommendations to retain a region on the forum for rousing refrain, Reborn's reconsidered a room for more remarkable recitation. But rather than reaffirm a rhetorical rally (which regrettably refuses rationality and reconciliation in favor of refutation and rivalry) we realized that we could reroute the request into a relatively rewarding rendition where residents are reassured and recompensed for rethinking their ramblings, be they resentments or reflections, for whoever's receptive.
And so we relay Rant & Rapport, an area relegated to under General Discussion, where refugees of reality's reign can release and receive replies of relief and recommendation.
Remember, in Rant & Rapport, respect rules the roost. Resistance may be reflexive, but retain reverence regardless, as R&R remains a place of revitalization and rebalance.

- Pinterest share link has been added
- Two Factor Authentication
- Images embedded in the editor can now have an alternative title set for accessibility
- Users signing in through social services, such as Facebook, will no longer be required to validate their email address
- imgur embedded is now supported
- Aces, Staff and Developers can now once again lock their own content.
- Activity Streams can be created with condensed view as default.
- An email is now sent when an account is locked for too many bad login attempts.

We had to take it down to update and to fix a small issue with speed ties but it should be all set by now.

There are a few things to be aware of, as mentioned on the download page...

- A Field Effect viewer app has been added to the Pokegear. It will be enabled on existing playthroughs by beginning E16 content. Items on the overworld can be collected to install content to it.
- An option to control how many back-ups are saved at once has been added to the options menu. This will only affect save files created in E16, so any E15 back ups will need to be deleted manually if desired.
- Gym Leaders will now always save their Ace Pokemon for last.
- Hyperspace Fury added.
- Fairy type added to Pokedex search
- Many moves, items and abilities have been debugged
- Fairy Gem added
- All Mega shinies have been customized, completing the shiny sprite project.
- All Menu/Speech frames have customized
- All PC Boxes have been customized
- A new item has been implemented. The Amplifield Rock increases the duration of "Room" moves, Gravity, and user-created Field Effects.
- Tweaked AI decision-making
- The weather system has been redone to be faster, more stable, and vary based on in-game region. It now operates on a 5 day cycle and does not depend on the Opal Ward.
- Added relationship variables, altered throughout the game.
- Re-battleable trainers now appear before the first badge instead of after the third gym.
- Removed the choosing-different-move disobedience effect, previously glitched and no longer in main series.
- Strong Winds no longer incorrectly prevents weather changes on its own
- Undiscovered Egg Group Pokemon now always have 3 perfect IVs
- Double Battles now always launch as doubles regardless of if the player has only one Pokemon
- Money Gain/Loss tweaked
- Duplicated Pokemon (including natural Shedinja) no longer share moves with their originals
- Items can now be used on Pokemon from the party screen
- Critical Capture mechanic added
- Full screen option added
- Eggs in daycare should no longer inherit parents' current moves in favor of the moves they entered daycare with
- Key items are no longer depositable. Item PC re-enabled.
- Remaining Pokemon now display between knockouts when fighting a trainer.
- A 3x speed Fast-forward mode has been added. Press Alt to toggle it on and off.

It's stored in one of a number of slots, yeah. The slot you receive from is randomly selected, provided you did not place it there.
Random Battles are probably low responsive just because there are not a ton of people playing online at any given time, so timing is everything.

All of your accounts have been preserved, however please be aware that your log in name may have changed. On the previous version we had Log In names and Display names. Log In names have been removed so you should now log in using your current Display Name.

Known Battle Errors
- Z Moves ignore the Animations Off setting and always play animations, potentially lagging.
- Land's Wrath does nothing when selected.
- Sucker Punch can hit through seed-created Shield effects.
- Z Moves ignore Focus Sash (and possibly Sturdy?)
- Nature Power sometimes choose a target other than the one selected in Doubles
- Imposter didn't change Ditto's sprite in Holy Field vs Ariados; appears to have functionally worked properly.
- Status moves are not absorbed by type immunity abilities, except Leech Seed and Thunder Wave. Leech Seed's ability-specific code should be removed as well.
- Liquid Voice Pokemon take no action if they have a sound move
- End of turn damage doesn't properly activate berries on the right timing
- Back Up files are sometimes either not made or stored in the wrong place
- Field effects don't properly consider Roost's Flying loss-- maybe other grounded/non grounded effeccts too?
- Stat boosts from Seeds don't affect Contrary-- reported on Inverse Field
- Bug report from the reddit that's worth noting down
- Gear Up/Magnetic Flux may not be properly boosting the user
- Heavy Slam et. all may be calculating incorrectly
- Trick erroneously locks the user into itself when receiving a choice item
- Terrain Moves can't overwrite each other, but should
- An error message exists when using Phantom Force vs King's Shield
- No Guard doesn't hit through semi-invulnerable moves, and should
- Z-moves interact with statuses incorrectly
- Disguise is not properly restored by Revive
- Illusion does not work properly in double battles
- Some moves don't properly bypass substitute
- Facade may not be ignoring burns properly
- Relic Song fails to switch Meloetta's form
- Field Destruction should also destroy backup variable in some cases
- Pokemon cannot relearn egg moves
- Magnet Pull isn't working with Alolan forms properlty
- Static outside of battle effect may not be working
- Swamp field activated Defiant twice in one turn, once at the same time as the speed reduction and once afterwards.
- Unhatched Pokemon appear as obtained in Pokedex already
- Pokemon can be born with Pokerus
- Sonic Boom should not try to inherit random typings from Rainbow Field
- Spiky Shield ignores Long Reach
- Rototiller needs a But it failed! message if there are no grass types on the field
- In doubles, when the first Pokemon has been encored, it asks "what should pokemon 2 do?" but pressing X makes it say "what should pokemon 1 do?". Fight properly takes it to Pokemon 2's moves anyway.
- When changing screen size on the Load Screen's options menu, the area of the music the file is saved in will begin playing.
- Shadows do not properly disappear during two-turn attacks.
- Wild Minoir start with Core, not Shell
- Link Stone does not show Able/Not Able when used from the bag, until it has already been used on a Pokemon. It shows HP bars at first instead.
- Battling trainers before getting a partner (like Cal) while on the bike forces player off the bike without cancelling bike music after the battle.
- Silvally retains field-designated types even outside of those fields
- Oricorio's forms do not display in the Pokedex
- If Volt Switch is used by the sole Pokemon on a side, and is blocked due to type immunity etc, the attacking sprite fades in and out for a second anyway
- Multi-hit moves don't display the "X hits" line if they kill before finishing
- Fusion Bolt and Flare will need a code to use the the larger animation if activated after each other.
- After You is not set up to use an animation
- Future Dummy and Doom Dummy do not properly use animations
- Sky drop target fades in and says it was freed from the effect before being dropped in and damaged
- Ineffective attacks can miss vs pokemon, displaying the wrong message
- Intimidate vs Defiant/Competitive display messages in the wrong order
- Pokemon can become invisible after a two turn attack gets absorbed
- Pokedex shows male on scroll, female on select-- should show whichever one was looked at last
- Scrolling through pokedex shows base form, not the last viewed
- Additionally silvally's form on the pokedex only shows the normal form no matter what
- Cancelling wh ile changing forms in pokedex operates incorrectly-- see section in here for details
- Meowstic has an extra form listed in pokedex form select
- Minior's Meteor form is missing from the Pokedex, and instead its last core is erroneously named "Meteor"
- Height and weight changing in multiple form doesn't work in pokedex
- As of generation 7, the Pokedex doesn't show "male" and "female" if the two forms are identical, nor is there a need for a genderless distinction.
- Megas do not properly update Pokedex entries
- The Pokedex doesn't list the viewed form at first until selecting it
- Intimidate text applies to dig
- When Illusion Pokemon faint, the text may mention the Pokemon they had copied instead.
- Transform's message uses the new species name instead of the old one
- If you get an egg from the daycare for a pokémon that isn't registered in your pokédex it'll be marked as obtained when you receive it.
- The screen border disappears when opening the PokeGear
- When a Pokemon is KO'd passively while in a two turn attack, the next battler comes in invisible
- Seed messages displaying before "X was dragged out!" messages in phasing attacks like Roar, Whirlwind, etc
- Rainbow Field's message will display even if Rainbow is already active.
- Floating pokemon's substitute floats too and there's a shadow. There should be no shadow during substitute and it should be on the ground :C
- Mold Breaker ignores Protean
- Knock Off doesn't remove the held item if the Pokemon faints
- Flinches dont' activate on sturdy pokemon in the rocky field at all
- Heal Block does not prevent recovery from Rain Dish
- ffect Spore can be triggered even against a Pokemon with Overcoat
- Belch can only be used once after eating a berry. It should be able to be used for the rest of the battle
- Electrify affects all Pokemon in doubles
- Electrified attacks are not properly redirected/absorbed by Lightnig Rod
- Heal Block does not block Black Sludge from healing
- When a player Pokemon is killed while switching out by the AI trainer using Pursuit, the mon to be sent out is sent out right away instead of prompting the player to choose a different Pokemon to send in. ...In other words, they should be able to change their decision if their Pokemon is KO'd.
- Disguise is not ignored by Mold Breaker
- In Rocky Field, an attack blocked by Spiky Shield or a similar move procs the shield effect and the rock effect. Let's just do the shield effect.
- Stealing an item via Thief and then using Recycle to recover it allows it to be kept after the battle even when it shouldn't be.
- Payback does not properly double against the second part of a two-turn attack
- In the Rocky Field, if Bounce misses it does not cause recoil from the field
- Magic Bounce still activates if the Pokemon is semi-invulnerable a la Fly. This also creates an animation bug.
- The Player cant uset he PC's deposit function because they only have one Pokemon, even if there are eggs in their party that they should be able to deposit.
- Transform should not allow the Pokemon to copy the effects of held items like Eviolite, if they would not normally apply to Ditto, but currently does
- Pokemon can be caught while semi-invulnerable
- Using U-Turn etc vs Emergency Exit should not let the turner to switch out.
- Healing Minior with a potion causes the form to switch too early
- Flame Burst splash damage hits semi-invulnerable targets in doubles
- Electrify and Ion Deluge do not properly change Z-Move types
- Inferno Overdrive does not properly activate Powder
- Inards Out improperly counts all hits of a multi-hit move
- Ditto improperly copies the type of hidden power
- Having no target in doubles does not interrupt Rollout streak
- An issue with trainer Pokemon restoring PP on switching exists. It has been fixed in Essentials 17.
- Breakneck Blitz does not properly calculate damage with variable power moves like Return
- Redirection abilities do not affect allies
- Gluttony activates some berries on the wrong timing
- Z-moves are activating attacking flying moves with gale wings with the wrong priority
- Parental Bond has a handful of incorrect interactions
- Imposter chooses targets in doubles incorrectly
- Transform works on Illusion pokemon incorrectly
- Choice Band lets a user choose another move when PP runs out
- Cotton Candy (and Revive?) does not work on Shedinja
- Volt Switch's effect still works even when the move is absorbed
- Future sight errroneously hits semi-invulberable targets
- Swamp Field's speed drop doesn't apply right after switching in
- Queenly Majesty/Dazzling do not apply to allies
- Frisk's mechanics are outdated
- White Herb activates with improper timing vs Intimidate
- Multihit moves can proc berserk multiple times
- Dancer has erroneous interacctions with petal dance/confusion/sleep
- Future Sight can miss on initial use erroneously
- Sleep Talk/Choice Band/Comatose interacts with Last Resort incorrect
- Hoopa unbound form doesn't revert properly
- Disguise doesn't activate on the turn baton pass is used
- Dire Hit may not be boosting crit rate enough
- Toxic Orb doesn't activate when susbtitute is up.
- Self Destruct in Electric Terrain doesn't consume a Normal Gem
- Swift Swim updates mid-round with the wrong timing

Iirc the plan for showdown avatars is just to allow access on request to all Veteran forum users.
Same for voice.
There will still be a limit on frequency of updating avatars/names, of course.
