Thank you, Knight.
And relating to Knight's 5th point, I'd like to ask the members and mods of the the server to help keep on top of chat-speak on the server. Abbreviations like lol and btw are passable, but when you get into things like Knight's example, the line is crossed.
I'm guilty of being too lenient on it myself, so in order to keep as clean of a server as possible, I'm encouraging the mods to warn once and then go for the throat. Just a kick- Chatspeak itself should not need to be a ban-able offense. To the regular members, feel free to point it out if we don't notice, and remind the other members if they're doing it, not to.
One final news point- As we adjust to school routines, whatever that ends up being, this is our slow-down week. In this week, challengers will only be allowed a maximum of two battles per day to lead into the stricter schedule of the following weeks. Timing for the events will remain the same, however.

I'll begin with the good news- in its first official partnership, PokePlace Reborn is now affiliated with Pokemon Mysidia, home of various servers, fan-game collaborations and a wealth of discussion on its bustling forums. This, of course, is all thanks to Miss Kitty, who has thus inspired me to go hunt out some various other affiliations that I've had in the back of my head. So expect this to be only the first domino.
More good news, unless you're a trouble-maker, the new mods have been chosen. This week, we're welcoming members Will and Lara to the staff as they help police any possible issues arising from the new partnership, incoming traffic or the shifting seasons and schedules (accordingly, depending on activity and availability over the next few weeks, we may consider hiring one more additional person)
And speaking of scheduling, therein is the news that we've been waiting on. We- myself included. It also happens to be the bad news.
The unfortunate reality is that school is starting soon (or already has for some of you.) Yes, I can hear your cries from here. Now, as all of us fall into routine, our schedules will iron out, but there is one very big problem. I'm starting college, and my classes are in the evening. Much o' y'alls still in high school, or maybe not even that, which means, if I have to take a guess, you're probably limited by the age-old rule of the parents that you can only stay up on weekends.
Basically this means I'll be in classes until about the time that most of you need to get to sleep.

So we're left with a couple options:
1. The Reborn League becomes a Midnight League- I'd get on at about 12:00 AM EST (which I could -probably- guarantee) and go from there as we usually do.
2. The Reborn League becomes a Weekend League- Mind, I have Fridays off entirely, and we pick an earlier time in the evening to meet. We could then run for a little longer, but only three days instead of six. However, I am not sure that I can guarantee my availability at a certain time every day.
Please throw a vote in the poll as to which you would prefer.
Option one keeps the League open for less time on more days. Option two means more time on fewer days.
Please keep in mind, these are only first drafts for potential schedules. We will also be working around Miss Kitty's schooling, but hers is more similar to all of yours. In any event, the number of allowed battles per day and Leaders' availability will be changing. I'll work out the details of the latter affair personally.
...Finally, and this is extremely last minute, it's been decided that AZKnight will be promoted to a Moderator position as well, however, he intends mostly on cleaning up the forums. I agree with him that the posting standard here has fallen below par recently, and so he'll be in in just a minute to make a note for you all about the new expectations. -

One or two people -might- recognize this character. She was the main protagonist of a strategy RPG I began developing a while ago. I redid her character art just 'cuz.

This was part of a portfolio for which I received an award last year. It's based off of alternative-corrupting Wu Xing elementology. A counterpart was created, intended to be a series of five, but there was too little time to finish all of them. This is actually the second one.

Accompanying the server update this week is the before-promised Reborn Custom installation of PO. It can be downloaded from the link at the top left of the forums.
This install should overwrite the original PO installation, provided it is installed in the default directory, preserving all teams, music and box data. This installation has the gym-leader graphics pre-installed.
This installation is windows... Unfortunately, I cannot provide support for Mac and Linux users, however other users might. In the meantime, other OSes are limited to the manual method of downloading the [url="http://www.pokemonreborn.com/ts.zip"]Graphics Zip File[/url] and manually pasting it into Pokemon Online > db > Trainer Sprites.
In other news, Miss Kitty has been promoted to adminship, while both of our other mods seem to have um, vanished. Therefore, we will again be considering potential new staff.

As of Friday, since the site opened, exactly 300 battles have been completed for the Reborn League. I thought I\'d take the opportunely round number as an invitation to check on to some specs of the registered teams.

I think perhaps if we coupled the annoying and trolling clauses together, because while I agree to Manowar's proposition, it still doesn't cover most of what occurred last night, as they claimed to just be trying to enjoy themselves with each other. So, does anyone have a problem with those?

I'll start this out on a positive note- We're welcoming Manowar to the PPR team as our newest mod. Manowar has been around since very near the beginning and continues to be a mature and active contributor to the community on both the forums and server.
Also, I don't like to be on the wrong side of that Kangaskan. That thing is beast sometimes...
However, there is a pressing issue that needs to be addressed. Last night there was some serious conflict between our members and some of our visitors. I was repeatedly asked by several of our members to remove them from the server, and I have little doubts that others who did not voice such requests felt the same way (myself included).
However, as annoying as those people were, because they were not actually breaking the rules, I could not fairly have enforced any action.
Therefore, the rules need to change. This is not the first time that this has been an issue, but I intend to let it be the last.
I'm asking you all what rules we could possibly in state that would be fair, induce order, and yet not make us be seen as totally fascist. Perhaps with that last condition, a paradox is created- however I will let the community decide to what extent we carry out these rules and what reputation it brings us.
It could be something as vague as "Don't be annoying" however, annoying standards are then left to the subjectivity and whims of the staff. If this is acceptable, it can be instated, but I would like to know if anyone has any better ideas. -

...I really didn't know what to call this post, it's going to be full of random stuff.
Firstly, now that Nyu, the person who set up and maintains the Reborn Server in the first place has finally joined, he has been promoted to his rightful Adminship. Thank you for everything, Nyu.
Secondly, I am aware that the server's traffic is increasing more and more. A Password protection system has been suggested, and we are currently looking into potential details on such a thing. Another proposed idea was to have both a Private and a Public server for separate uses. I'd like to know how everyone feels about these ideas before we take more definite steps towards realizing them.
On the note of traffic, I understand that when there's sixty people in the server, it can be a bit much to manage.
That said, you will NOT disrespect ANYONE in that server or you WILL be kicked or worse.
...Actually, the members of this site are usually pretty good about that. I'm mostly speaking to the people who will never read this, so whatever.
However, because of the increase, we will need to hire some additional disciplinary enforcement agents- AKA Moderators.
I'm told that several members were granted some mod privileges to control this morning's chaos. Those, among several other members will be under surveillance and consideration for potential candidates.

And let me just say this now, because I know some blockhead is going to do it anyway.
Do not ask to be a mod. It really won't help your case.
....In other news, Tournament 2 concluded last night (congratulations to the winner, Bullet!), and we're gearing up for Tournament 4! (what happened to T3? ....don't ask)
T4 is a VGC tier tournament! Details are in the Indigo Plateau section of the forums. Everyone is invited, but Registration is closed on Saturday! T4 takes place Sunday the 17th at 7:00 PM EST on the Reborn Server.
Finally, one of our members, Will, has begun writing a webcomic, [url="http://www.pokemonreborn.com/index.php?showtopic=92"]+Infinitas,[/url] based on this site and the Reborn Server. He's posting it on this site, so check it out if you've got a moment. -

So guys, what's up? You're all so quiet. Just because I got my sorry self ground doesn't mean you all don't have to hush up.
Firstly, I'd like to apologize for the break in the forums. The site's host has some trouble sometimes, and when you get that IPS Driver Message, just check back later. This has been a recurring problem, but there's really nothing we can do but wait it out. Fortunately, the incidents seem to be much sparser this year.
More importantly, the league will resume as normal on the coming Monday. Be ready for it.
There are, however, going to be some changes. Hardy, much to his despair has fallen down to Rank 2, while Florinia earns her self a step up the latter to Rank 3. Similarly, Shade is stepping back down entry-level Position 4, and Blake has managed to crawl up to rank 5, which, I assure, you he is very, very happy about. On the other hand, his brother, Cal, now only one position ahead of him, is furious. Incidentally, Blake used to hold the 11th Position, while Cal took 2nd, so Cal is not anxious to have the chance to fall back below his brother.
...They are such children sometimes...
The site will be updated to reflect these changes shortly.
Additionally, some of the gym leaders have talked to me about alternate teams, and quite frankly, I don't think it's a bad idea. Therefore, the leaders are going to go back to the ol' drawing board, and you can expect to start seeing some variations from their normal line-ups. Also of note, these variations -may- include double battles, so be on your toes.

Now, be nice. I agree with Knight's policies- just because he's enforcing them assertively doesn't mean he can't take a joke, nor does it mean he's like Hitler. Besides, these guidelines have nothing to do with jokes.

That's actually part of why these people were picked. Lara is usually on for battles, and if she's on then Kitty can focus on logs and I can focus on hassling gym leaders to get their butts online- without having to babysit the server. Will is usually on during the day when the rest of us aren't, so he can cover those times just fine.
A legitimate concern though, and exactly what I'm trying to alleviate. We'll see who stays active through school though, and there may be reassignments accordingly.
