The deadline is basically going to be when I feel there's no more entries coming, that way if someone needs more time or anything, it's fine, but I'm aiming for not more than a couple weeks from now.

We are gathered here today for yet another one of Amethyst's completely unprofessional news posts. Yay!
That said, we need a new banner for the site, for a number of reasons. This was discussed before, actually, and the Pokemon suggested for it are compiled below.
Rather than contracting anyone person to do this, I'm opening the art of making this banner up to anyone who would like to give it a try.
REQUIREMENTS:
The banner must have our sit name, PokePlace [[Reborn]]
The banner must feature Absol and one or more of the Pokemon listed below.
The banner must be no larger than the base image provided, and must be constructed on top of that image.
No part of the image should be cut off by the bottom or right borders of the image.
After a couple weeks, all the submissions will be posted anonymously and voted on. The person who's piece is chosen WILL receive a prize.
I hope to see some quality pieces.

As I mentioned last week, I would need to[b] declare an end time to league battles [/b]after this last week, due largely to the fact that I am starting school and cannot reasonably be expected to stay up till seven in the morning on a routine basis, and also in great part to the fact that it is somewhat unfair of me to ask my leaders the same early-morning allegiance.
That time will need to be at [b]2 AM EST[/b]. I was hoping this could be later, but given some issues that arose last Friday, pushing it further is probably unmanageable... To be clear this means that [b]no battles will start after that time. Any in progress will finish.[/b]
This of course means that, given the traffic lately, [b]some people may not be able to get their turns even if they do stay up every night.[/b] Thinking about this now, perhaps it is good that I am not requiring the challengers to stay up until ungodly hours of the morning anyway, but nevertheless, I can only apologize for those of you who will inevitably be cut off.
Although I cannot offer additional turns in compensation, what [b]I will offer is priority the following night over the users who did get their turns. In other words, if your turn does not come before the cut off, you will be guaranteed the next day to go before anyone who did fight that night, or was not there.

The other greatest piece of news that I am stealing in place of Friday's highlights is- with the eventual 6th defeat of Titania,[b] the 16th and Water Gym Leader Amaria is now unlocked and available for battle starting on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Following the pattern I have since this site opened in June, I should require seven people to defeat Amaria [b]before unlocking the final leader[/b]. This, however, is slightly ridiculous. So for my own purposes, I am reducing this to[b] only four people that need to beat her[/b]. Good luck.
Two final notes, those being that due to circumstances outside of my control, [b]there will be no league running this Tuesday the 18th, nor Friday the 28th. [/b]
These may seem like random dates, and in fact they are, and in fact I apologize, but that is simply the way it must be.

So I'm a silly person.
Most of you probably knew this already, but let me just clarify for anyone who hasn't figured it out yet:
I'm a very silly person.
In my latest escapades, I've delayed this news post for a while- because I thought, well, I don't have much to say, so I'll just wait until I have more to say before I actually make the announcement.
Then by the time I had enough to constitute a full news post, I had too much, and procrastinated it.
So silly. Haha. Hee. This is the part where you guys laugh.
The result here is that this is not going to be a terribly informative news post- in that most of it is just the official announcement for things already passed (it is also true that i have forgotten most of what I was originally going to post about, but we can keep that a secret)
So, first up, I'd like to officially announce our new affiliates!
First up, we have Quantum a friendly server on PO with their own fledgling community as well.
Secondly, PokeFiends? an in depth Pokemon Roleplaying community
And finally, The Atlas Pokemon League yet another young server, but currently focusing on 4th gen battling.
At least pay them a visit, say hi, demand tribute bring them cookies, etc!
For the Slowpokes out there, the Reborn League start time has been pushed back to 9:30 EST, one hour earlier than it previously was.
I will also within the next week be declaring a close time, which I apologize for anyone who may not get their turn, but we simply cannot be keeping gym leaders up till five in the morning every night. They have lives too.
In the next week or so I'll be hosting the first of a few certain contests- nothing related to Pokemon Battling, but suffice it to say y'alls may want to tone up on your image editing skills. Certain developments are queued for the site that will launch us further into- Um... Into... Into what.... Into awesomeness. That's what.
Definitely forgetting something, or, seven somethings, but that's basically it for now, I guess.

Tonight, I have very unfortunate news. However, this needs to be addressed.
Although the newer members to our community would not have known him... And although his character was not a particularly pleasant one as we knew it... The former Poison Gym Leader of the Reborn League, Corey as he was known, has passed away.
The older regulars of this site, probably know the implications of this. Our Flying Leader, Heather, was his daughter. She currently lives with the Ice Leader, Blake. Sounds like a soap opera? Yes. But this progression of events of their characters was suggested as based off of Reality.
Blake is Heather's foster father. Her real father followed her, to watch over her on behalf of his departed wife, who died in childbirth. Through the league, he was able to get closer to Blake. And once he had ascertained that he was a capable guardian, took his leave to be reunited with his wife. Only Blake was told originally, he relayed to me, me to the staff...
And tonight, we just told Heather herself.
Needless to say, this is an extremely difficult thing for anyone to deal with, especially her, and especially Blake. Because of this, I beg the full support and understanding of the entirety of our member-base. For Heather, and Blake, and for each other.
I understand this may be a difficult thing for some of you to accept... I'll be open to talk to, if anyone needs it.
I don't know, I've probably left something out, but... We will get through this, as a community. And we will be the family that she doesn't have... This is if she even chooses to stay with us. But regardless... We must be there for her, and for each other.
Stand by me now, if ever you would.

I want to begin this day on a positive note... Because this might be one of the more difficult days we endure.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for being a part of this. I owe all of you very much.
We all owe Nyu, especially, for even putting up a server and home for us, for a project that I did not expect to have more than a few challengers, as last time. Goodness, was I wrong.
I would like to thank the challengers too, the members, both veterans and newcomers, because it is you, the audience, who make this possible. I am grateful for each and every one of you. If you believe yourself to be an annoyance, or in some other way, not good enough to be company to our community- you are wrong. Because I, at least, am glad that you are here. I do not see any of you as burdens, or bothers. And there is not a single one among you who I hate, or even dislike. And as long as that is true, you will all always have a home, and friends here. This is your site. All of yours, because you make the challenge worth living.
To my other staff, I am indebted to you as well. Without you all, I would have cracked under the weight of this site long ago. I feel I do not often enough express my gratitude to you- or any of you- for helping me with everything that goes on here, and letting us keep this a friendly, active, and- well, generally cool place.
This is an homage to all of you. Thank you.

This will not come as a terrible surprise to anybody who has been paying attention for the weekend, but, Reborn finally has the framework of a tutoring program underway!
Any and all newbies are encouraged to sign up if they feel they could use the help- but we ask you bear with us as we iron out the schematics of the system. Anyone interested in being a tutor themselves is, at this time, required to have at least ten badges from the Reborn League, but given recent trends that may change. Experience is the best teacher, so we are teaching ourselves how to teach you.

More important to some of the regulars may be this, however: An update the the Scroll tag's code has been implemented expanding scroll boxes to a size necessary to fit Gen V Reborn League Trainer cards. Because of the Trainer Card updates, Gen V trainer cards previously stretched the Scroll box making it convenient to store them in such areas- but that has since been fixed.
What you DO need to know however, is that if you were using a scroll tag in your signature previously, you need to update your signature for this change to take effect. Additionally, there maybe some HTML code that gets left behind, so simply delete that and put the Scroll tags back in its place. Look for <carrots> to tell you what is the HTML.
With this change and eased convenience, Reborn will now be enforcing a length limit on Signatures. They should not be longer than about 400 pixels or so. Now, that's about enough room to fit two scroll boxes (which you can jam literally infinite stuff into if you so which) and then some, so this should not be terribly limiting. If we find your signature in violation of this, you may be asked to edit it or contain it within Scroll- or we might just do it for you if you don't.

Nine months ago, when the Reborn League was first launched on MonkeyPro, all trainer cards were a very, very boring orange/gold color.
Why would I do this? I don't know. I don't even -like- orange. In fact, I rather despise it. It's all... orangey, and- But that's not the point of this topic.
It was only a couple weeks after that that I found a quick method to change the background, and then I realized, not all colors match with a gold frame. So, the Silver Frame was created. And I decided to be clever, and say the Gold and Silver frames were commemorative of the conveniently timed release of English HeartGold and SoulSilver.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
SO, a bit late, but to celebrate the release of 5th gen, I've made Black and White frames for Reborn League Trainer Cards! They are available on request to all challengers.
If your Gen5 Trainer Card has already been made, and you would like to switch its Frame Color to Black or White, PM your request to me or, preferably, N8, and we will most likely attend to it over the weekend.
Additionally, I've re-sprited the badges for an over-all smoother appearance. But nobody really cares about this except for me, since they're little details and such and there's no real re-design, so it's not even worth applying retro-actively... BUT I DID IT AND IT IS MUCH BETTER OKAY? OKAY SHUT UP /DIE. <---- Ame, if this means I have to go back and replace everyone's badges, you should learn to sleep with one eye open.

Online, and I assume stable until right before the league starts again, because for some reason everything likes to blow up right around that time =/
I know, right? Wtf. But this made me chuckle, because it's so, so true. Perhaps because of the increased traffic?

I would sooner invade a smaller unused server than go to Pokemon Online's. That area is much more prone to chaos, and sometimes lag.
For those who don't know, Reborn's Server, as I understand, is under something called a DoS. This stands for Denial of Service, and basically means that it is under constant siege by a computer that is spamming requests to it in such large numbers that the server, unable to keep up with them all, is forced to shut down. The offending IP has been traced to a World of Warcraft site, but quite frankly, that makes no sense at all. We'll get this fixed ASAP; don't worry.
In the mean time, Blez has a back up server that he may put up, or otherwise, we'll simply chill in Mysidia.
