Oh yikes, yeah I wouldn't want to use BB code for a full theme, it's just ideal for quick fix in messages without trampling over HTML... letting users edit the source directly is an interesting move but I'm glad you like it. I'm a fan of this new thing to be sure. It was super helpful in pulling everything together.

This is true. See, the site in question is not easy to use and the mods allow very very bad stuff to happen, so I left, plus the codes were so hard to make due to the white background giving me a migraine. HTML is a lot easier to use, but I can assume that its hard to make a site run on it since most people nowadays know little to none of it? It also helps me practice my typing skills. BBCode is, as you said, great for fast messages and quick fixes. Everything else is so crammed due to how many characters it takes to display stuff properly.  

I think HTML is still common place, it's just that most modern sites use a mix of languages, so there's a lot one needs to know and learn to keep up with!
