<p>
	In numerous locations throughout the castle, something odd occurred. This, of course, was paradoxically not an unusual thing; all manner of odd things occurred in the castle all the time. However, this seemed to be pressingly strange: several apparent holes in the air, like rents in space itself, had appeared before various denizens of the structure. They seemed to be tied together at the ends with ribbons, as if to stop them from expanding further, and peeked into a space seemingly filled with darkness. . . and far, far too many eyes. They seemed to nearly beg for investigation - in fact, if any of them had stared long enough at them without traveling through them, they'd find themselves being pushed through from behind, before the gaps both behind and ahead closed without a trace, leaving only empty rooms behind.
</p>

	</div>
</div>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	For a brief moment that simultaneously seemed to last far too long, everyone who had fallen through the gaps felt the sensation of freefall, being surrounded by that dark space. Depending on just how graceful one was in a fall, they either landed on their feet on... something, or got a slightly closer feel of that strange nothingness that seemed to be serving as a floor for a moment. It had no visual distinction from the space around it, yet it supported their weight nonetheless. Of course, depending on one's perspective, that might not have even been the strangest thing about the occurrence; after all, suddenly finding themselves in alternate dimensions was rather normal for the team that traveled across them to hunt monsters. Looking down, some of the party might find something different about themselves, though just as many were left unchanged.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	There wasn't much time to process this, though. The sound of a woman's voice laughing once sounded, and the source of it suddenly made itself clear - a woman, in what appeared to be a somewhat elaborate purple dress and white mob cap, with long blonde hair. It was hard to tell, as only the top half of her body hung out of a gash in space similar to the ones that had brought them to this place in the first place. Even more strangely, she seemed to be upside down, complete with her hair falling upwards instead of downwards. <span style="color:#9b59b6;">"Oh, visitors? I was wondering when you would show up," </span>she said. The strange woman tilted her head slightly at the party. <span style="color:#9b59b6;">"Ah, it seems like something might be a bit out of alignment. One moment." </span>The tone in her voice indicated that she wasn't surprised in the slightest at this, though it made a faint attempt at pretending to be such.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Another portal opened, and out of this one came an entire woman this time - apparently a different one, with a hat pointed upwards on either side but a similar outfit, but in blues instead of purple. Her hair was shorter, and slightly more notably she seemed to possess a large number of fox tails sprouting from behind her. Her expression seemed to be one of resigned acceptance of the scenario. The gap closed behind her, only for another one to open just downward of where the first one had opened, but arranged vertically. The first woman stepped outward, still upside down but entirely out of the gap this time. She glanced upward, and space <em>shifted</em> around the party before they suddenly felt the same gravity that the woman apparently did, dumping all of them (including the now rather irritable fox lady) onto the "floor" again. <span style="color:#9b59b6;">"Ran, be a dear and show them in, I've one last thing to prepare." </span>"Ran" sighed in response as yet another gap carried the woman away before offering a chance to respond.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#6633cc;">"My apologies. Lady Yukari is. . . she enjoys herself, I'll just say that." </span>She seemed to be no stranger to this kind of behavior, though still didn't seem to be fond of it. <span style="color:#6633cc;">"I'm sure she has much to tell you, but in the meantime, if you could follow me, I can try to answer any questions you might have." </span>She gestured behind her, where some kind of manor was now visible in the distance. It almost seemed to resolve out of the shapeless space around it, with scattered rocks slowly becoming a path, splotches of grass and the occasional shrub slowly becoming a lawn and neatly kept garden, decorated regularly with cherry trees.

<p>

</p>

<p>
	While others were drawn to their new missions through clear cut signs, such as capsules or books, what led Spicy HG, Lexiel, Kino, Misturugi, and Mot to a rather remote section of the Castle was… A mere tugging sensation. Something was trying to draw them somewhere, and due to the fact that they were all gathered around a small breach in the very fabric of reality, brely the The exact feeling that the breach varied from person to person, but for the divine, it was easy to understand.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	There was a putrid wrongness emanating from the breach, leaking out of the breach like smog, only to quickly evaporate once it left, like something was already trying to strangle them from the other side. And yet there was a small part that remained that was far softer and gentle, trying to urge them through.
</p>

<p>
	Sort of like a cry for help.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	And then, in a blink of the eye, the breach tore itself open, a sudden vacuum pulling the five in quick succession. Once they were all inside, the tear closed itself with a satisfying pop.

	Suddenly, with a loud pop, Sorina found herself floating in the air above a small dirt road, leading up to a large ornate bell shrine, and just a few feet away from that, was a large, yet bare ocean, save for a single old and practically decimated ship. It was a rather interesting sight all in all.

<p>
	A mysterious, grey capsule, twenty feet long and eight feet in diameter, appeared in the castle during the battle against Fake Gilgamesh.<span>  </span>After several science bros took a look at it, Edmond eventually translated the inscriptions around the rim of the device as autopilot instructions, and a plea for help, both in a computer language he’d never seen before.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	He asked around, and Hiroki, Jade, Cicivexa, and Dackly volunteered to come and investigate.<span>  </span>Gozer followed Dackly into the pod, as he always does.<span>  </span>Edmond locked the coordinates in, the pod sealed itself shut, and the six occupants found themselves dozing off…
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The next thing the group knew, the pod opened with a loud hiss, and hurled them out upon a beach of beautiful, white sand and clear, glassy water.<span>  </span>A lush, dripping jungle begins where the beach ends, and over the trees a huge, snow-topped mountain peak is barely visible.<span>  </span>But the assembled heroes could be forgiven for not focusing much on the excellent vacation destination they had found themselves in, for each of them was changed by their journey.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Where flesh once was, flesh remained, yet it was no longer alone.<span>  </span>Armored plates, mechanical components, just as responsive and sensitive as flesh alone yet far more resilient, covered the body of each of the six in gleaming armor and cybernetics.<span>  </span>Each of the six now sports a distinct color scheme they did not before, accenting their new armored bodies; Hiroki in shades of blue, Dackly a uniform green (she was green before, of course), Edmond in white and grey, Cicivexa in red and ultramarine, Jade in brown and tan (much like he was before), Captain Forgotten Realms in silver and blue, and Gozer in black and tan.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Their eyes glow brightly with their original color, from behind a sturdy, steel-grey mask, along with a sense of power not previously present…
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Equipment Acquired:<span>  </span>Toa Heartlight (Untyped) – The ancient mechanisms of the Toa Canister have transformed you into a creature of Bionicle!<span>  </span>But without a source of elemental power, only some of its features have been unlocked.<span>  </span>Grants +2 damage reduction and +2 to a stat chosen when equipped. <span> </span>Cannot be unequipped at this time.<span>  </span>Deals 5% of your MHP in nonlethal pure damage to you each round until you pass out.<span>  </span>Self-damage can be negated if you wear a Kanohi Mask of Power.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Equipment Acquired:<span>  </span>Matoran Kanohi Mask – This artifact allows beings of Bionicle to properly control and contain their powers.<span>  </span>Without one, even the mightiest Toa can be humbled.<span>  </span>Some masks can also grant special powers, but these do not.<span>  </span>They are enough to keep you alive and healthy, though.<span>  </span>Can be knocked off by a critical hit, requiring a round to recover and put back on.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The party’s old equipment seems to have been transformed into a version that their new bodies can use as comfortably as their old could, and given the same color scheme as their wielder.<span>  </span>This could use some investigating…
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Or you could instead talk to pair of the small biomechanical beings staring up at you, the blue one in naked relief and the black one in suspicion.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“The Toa!<span>  </span>You’ve come!”<span>  </span>The blue one exclaims in a surprisingly high-pitched voice, “The legends were true!<span>  </span>We-<span>  </span>We’d almost started to think you might not…”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“They’re not the Toa, Halhi,” The black one pulls a strange contraption from his back and aims it in the party’s general direction, “That red one’s shorter than I am, and none of them look anything like the statues or carvings.<span>  </span>They’re probably some trick from the Makuta.<span>  </span>Mata Nui, the black and green ones look as much like Rahi beasts as people!”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“But they might be able to help.<span>  </span>They don’t have infected masks, Nuparu,” Halhi observes, though she does take a few steps back and place a hand on the machete sheathed at her waist.<span>  </span>“If we don’t take any chances, we’ll never beat the Makuta.<span>  </span>The Toa haven’t come.<span>  </span>Maybe…<span>  </span>Maybe it’s time for us to find our own heroes, instead of just waiting for them.”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“Take chances, huh?<span>  </span>Be our own heroes?<span>  </span>That’s what Hewkii said,” Nuparu growls wearily, clearly retreading familiar arguments, “You know where he is now?”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“Kitty chow for an infected Muaka,” Halhi rolls her eyes, glaring daggers into the other being’s skull.<span>  </span>“We all miss Hewkii, but he wouldn’t want us to just sit around waiting to die like he did!”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“Kitty chow for a-<span>  </span>Hey!”<span>  </span>The barrel of Nuparu’s weapon drifts away from the group as he turns to face Halhi.<span>  </span>It seems they could be at this for a while…

<p>
	After returning from her session around the Castle's workshops and lab Spicy HG steps off to the side, apparently taking some kind of call.  Eventually she returns and relays a similar message to anyone willing to stand around and listen.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#c0392b;">"I just got a message from my Oracle.  One of his old associates contacted him asking for any possible aid, something about a their own Goddess being missing and things not going well.  I'm...I'm going to be honest I don't think I'm ready to go back to my own world yet.  I know it's not much to go on, but if you could help me take care of this I'd be extremely grateful."</span>
</p>

<p>
	The party, or those who chose to tag along, are all gathered to a slightly unstable looking tear in space-time.  On the other side they could see a strange looking room with violet walls and magenta floors all covered in odd pulsing lines, the muted hum of some machine can be heard on the other side.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#c0392b;">"Alright this is your last chance to back out, but for those that don't I thank you so very much for going, we'll pick you up in the Castle when you're done."</span>
</p>

<p>
	Once on the other side the group quickly finds out that the room wasn't as large as it looked and was more of a glorified closet than a proper room and with eight people cramming in through a one-way portal things get cramped fast.  Eventually though, someone manages to find the door(which of course opens inward) and squeeze to open it, after which the party practically pours out of the tight space.
</p>

<p>
	The room beyond is much larger though, carved violet stone makes up the walls, expensive rugs cover the floors, and most of the ceiling is covered in murals gilded with gold and silver.  A center isle with three rows of pews on either side, all facing left, fills most of the room.  At the far left wall stands a lectern in front of some kind of shrine.
</p>

<p>
	Two figures stand(err sit? float?) in the room, the first to speak could've been mistaken for a child if it hadn't been for the large techno-fairy wings sprouting from her back or the massive floating magical book she was sitting on, otherwise she seemed to be wearing fancy purple and white clothes and a matching vaguely nurse-esqu hat.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#9966ff;">"Oh my.  We didn't expect so many of you." </span>She spoke in a calm, slightly nasally voice with a hint of stressed panic in the background.
</p>

<p>
	The second figure, an oversized house cat sitting on one of the pews with grey skin that looked like it had just gotten over a horrible case of mange leaving only a few stray tuffs of blue-grey fur over a thin, bony frame spoke while licking one of his paws and not even looking up at the party.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#2980b9;">"Well what did you expect?  I <em>told </em>you she wasn't going to be bothered to come herself."</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#9966ff;">"Hmph, well you don't have to be so rude about it." </span>The fairy turned to address the party as they picked themselves up <span style="color:#9966ff;">"My name is Histoire, I am the Oracle of Planeptune and I called you here to help.  Our Goddess Neptune has gone missing not long ago and on top of that there is an anti-Goddess citizen group protesting here and in the other nations.  Furthermore there are reports of an international crime syndicate the Goddesses stamped becoming active once again despite its leaders being dead.  All of this has me concerned something more is afoot and I'd like you to look into it."</span>
</p>

<p>
	She paused for a moment, thinking.
</p>

<p>
	<font color="#9966ff">"I'll try to answer any questions you may have."</font>

	Something felt wrong, maybe a sinking feeling in your stomach or that little difficulty breathing, but suddenly the world around you blurred and started spinning.  The feeling of being squished or sucked through a particularly small passageway was followed by total darkness and unconsciousness.

	Looking around you see a small courtyard of sorts, made of red bricks and cobblestones, lit by gentle orange and black-metal lamps and the distant starry sky above.  Buildings that look almost Tudor, with dark wood framing and red tile roofs, surround the courtyard on three sides(left, right, back) and stairs on the fourth.  Behind is simply buildings with a huge wooden gate-door.

<p>
	To the left is an archway to an unlit alley and beside it some kind of business or restaurant judging by the many tables, chairs, and candles strewn about.  Though it appears closed, understandable given the apparent time of night, there is another business next door a little further right with a large and colorful glowing sign that says "Items!".

<p>
	Forward are brick stairs leading up to a small landing in front of a building with several more glowing signs reading things like "Jewelry" or "Accessories".  A path to the left leads to a second entrance for the "Items!" building and beyond it a small alley. A winding path to to the right leads up more stairs and back behind the central building.  Against the small retaining wall to the right of the courtyard stairs there is a large red cylinder "wearing" a black tophat almost as large as itself.  There seems to be some kind of mouth painted over a flap in the front of it, the word "Letters" appears on the top hat.
</p>

<p>
	Finally to the right are more buildings and a gate-door not quite as huge as the one behind you.  Above it is a glowing sign in gold and cyan that reads "Traverse Town 3rd District".

	A letter arrives on the bus:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“Dear Dimensional Troubleshooters,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	An mutual acquaintance of ours has suggested you might be able to deal with a little spot of trouble that’s come up in my home universe.<span>  </span>You see, an amateur necromancer has gotten himself some actual magic.<span>  </span>It’s not a big problem as of yet, but if left unattended it could become so.<span>  </span>Unfortunately, I find myself occupied dealing with an incursion by the Dread Dormammu and his Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth.<span>  </span>I hear you have a specialist in such matters?<span>  </span>Any assistance you might render would be greatly appreciated.<span>  </span>I have it on good authority he will be attending the horror convention Necronomicomicon this year in New York City, and I have arranged with our mutual friend, Doctor Ebon, for some reinforcements to arrive at about the same time as you.<span>  </span>The amulet enclosed should teleport you to the outskirts of the convention area, in a relatively low profile place.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Yours,
</p>

<p>
	Doctor Stephan Strange, Sorcerer Supreme of Earth 42”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Freya, of course, leaps onto the chance to help sway a novice necromancer from the path of evil.<span>  </span>Aquila tags along to protect Freya, and possibly to smack some zombies around if it comes to that.<span>  </span>Alan…<span>  </span>Well, it’s been a while since he attended a con, and there should be plenty of chances to stock up on electronics in a modern city.<span>  </span>The three get dropped into what Alan comfortably recognizes as a city alleyway along with his van, presumably in the Big Apple.<span>  </span>A mix of people dressed in casual, modern clothes and people in elaborate costumes throng the streets, which are free of cars.<span>  </span>A lot of people are dressed as some kind of undead creature or other horrifying monster, and a fair number more as other sorts of fantastical or medieval folk.<span>  </span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	However, thanks to Freya’s knowledge, it’s not hard to tell that there aren’t any actual undead out there.<span>  </span>And as outlandish as the group appears, even with Alan’s drones, the group will fit right in, though the Sectopod and van might be a bit much.<span>  </span>On the street outside, there’s a wide variety of stores, the highlights of which are a JC Penny’s, a Radioshack, an Apple Store, a Dick’s Sporting Goods, an Official Marvel Comics Bookstand, and the entrance to an expansive-looking mall.<span>  </span>Over the mall entrance, a banner is hung, letters painted to be dripping green ooze: “Welcome to NECRONOMICOMICON!”
</p>

<p>
	----------------------------------------------------------------
</p>

<p>
	Thunderlord and Scout find themselves in a different alley on the same street, having each been given a copy of a somewhat different letter.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“Dear Thunderlord/Scout Skipper,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	You may not have heard of me, but I’ve heard very good things about you.<span>  </span>My name is Doctor Stephen Strange, Sorcerer Supreme of this universe, and I have been placed in a very difficult situation.<span>  </span>You see, there is a novice sorcerer in this area, and he will get up to some rather irreversible mischief to himself and others unless he is dealt with.<span>  </span>And I cannot deal with it myself, as the Dread Dormammu is attempting to breach this plane, and while I might be a master of the mystic arts, I haven’t figured out how to be in two places at once yet.<span>  </span>I apologize for the rude method of conveyance, but time is of the essence and I don’t believe you would refuse.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	You aren’t alone here; I have arranged for some allies to arrive at about the same time as yourself.<span>  </span>Look for a witch, an armored knight, and a man in a clown mask.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Sincerely, and with apologies,
</p>

<p>
	Doctor Stephan Strange, Sorcerer Supreme of Earth 42”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	As the pair finishes reading, a young woman peeks down the alley.<span>  </span>She’s tall and slender, of Native American descent, with dark hair, dark eyes, and well-tanned skin.<span>  </span>She’s wearing weathered blue jeans, a T-shirt of the classic Creature from the Black Lagoon movie poster, and a belt with a chunky buckle displaying an X inside of a circle.<span>  </span>A lanyard with a convention pass hangs around her neck, and a hawk feather sticks out of her hair, over her left ear.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	“Hello in there?<span>  </span>Pardon me for saying it, but you two seem lost.<span>  </span>A bit out of place, even for a big, cosplay-heavy con like this one,”<span>  </span>She steps into the alley and strides over to the pair, before continuing in a quieter voice, “I’ve seen dimensional travelers before, and you’ve both got the classic signs.<span>  </span>Hey, you can trust me, I’m a superhero.<span>  </span>Or I will be once I turn eighteen.<span>  </span>Also an empath, so I know you won’t rat me out.<span>  </span>Danielle Moonstar.<span>  </span>Pleased to meet you.”

<p>
	(<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv0efmUKP9s" rel="external nofollow">Theme Song</a>)
</p>

<p>
	After the seven of you finished up with whatever business you had for the day and gathered in the ballroom at the urging of several floating books, you could hear a slight 'popping' sound in front of you, just before a quartet of drones quickly flew through a breach in space and fired several beams of light at an empty point in space, slowly but surely tracing out the shape of...a man, a thin man wearing what appears to be an ancient and well used suit of full plate, decorated chiefly by a red tabard with gold trimming and a lying, but watchful lion emblazoned on the chest, an old scabbard containing a plain arming sword was on his right waist, and he made a bit of a show of keeping his gauntlet-ed hands away from it.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The man cracked his neck to the side a little as the drones put some finishing touches on his head, revealing a mane of wild red hair, a pair of pointed ears, and a painted face with a tired looking expression. He leaned against a wall and started to fan himself with his hands before he smiled a little and said, "<span style="color:#ff0000;">We have a mission for you, should you choose to accept it</span>," as the drones powered down and fell down to the floor. "<span style="color:#f8ecc2;">What the royal highness meant is that he fucked up and now he needs our help to stop the world from ending...<em>again,</em></span>" said an all too familiar figure as he slowly slid inside of the room and passed through the hologram Harlequin. "<span style="color:#ff0000;">Oh buzz off, I didn't come all the way here just to have the castle's jester hose my wiz entrance.</span>"<br /><br />
	Solomon let out a sigh before he pointed at all of the drones literring the floor and replied with, "<span style="color:#f8ecc2;">Well you didn't have to try and impress them with this overly embellished nonsense, whatever happened to just dropping them into an alley?</span>", the Harlequin shook his head slightly before he said, "<span style="color:#ff0000;">Because funnily enough, we don't <em>have the time</em> to do that now, you know the little <strong>Deus</strong>che your merry band of fuckups met back in Seattle? <em>Well guess who just tried to take over the Matrix</em></span><em><span>." </span></em><br /><br /><span>Solomon raised an eyebrow at this as he leaned back and asked </span><em><span>"</span></em><span style="color:#f8ecc2;">What? <em>Deus</em>? Wasn't his metaphorical body supposed to be cooling in a shallow grave after he pissed off the Azzies? How in the hell is he back?</span><span>," Harlequin stifled a laugh as he replied with, "</span><span style="color:#ff0000;">White power!...no seriously that's his excuse, it's apparently what he's calling the elite of his own personal army of Otaku, the 'Whites', and no, they're not as harmless as they sound, they've geeked a <em>lot</em> of badges, runners, and SINners.</span><span>"<br /><br />
	He rolled his eyes as he stopped speaking for a moment to pull out what appeared to be a scroll, and leaned down to read it as he continued with, "</span><span style="color:#ff0000;">On our holy crusade against the false gods of the Matrix, may Deus corrupt their data and release zero days on their encryption, and yes, <em>someone actually wrote that</em>, it's on the Shadowlands, posted by some drekhead called xxxTEnsion21xxx after the attack on the Novatech IPO Servers, which they took over, now do you see why I'm asking for your help <em>now</em>?.</span><span>"</span><br /><br />
	Solomon shook his head slightly before he asked, "<span style="color:#f8ecc2;">No actually, nothing you just said implied that you wouldn't be better off if you hired local talent, especially since I don't know why you of all people would have even a tiny mote of interest over a crusade that'll last all off three weeks before the corps bag and tag him</span>," to this the Harlequin could only sigh, put on a rather serious facial expression, and said, "<span style="color:#ff0000;">It's...it's because of my daughter</span>," which was an answer that elicited laughter from Solomon as he said, "<span style="color:#f8ecc2;">Since when did <em>you</em> have a daughter? And which blind and deaf pixie chaser let <em>your</em> ugly ass put a baby in her</span>?", this response caused the Harlequin to let out a sound of frustation before he said, "<span style="color:#ff0000;">It <em>could</em> happen! I'll have you know that I've-why are we even talking about this? Look, does anyone else here have any <em>actual</em> questions? Anyone who isn't the flying poindexter</span>."

		<p dir="ltr" style="background-color:#2d2d2d;color:#bfbfbf;font-size:14px;">
			Something new between this version and DC.  They act sort of like voluntary flaws or challenge limiters that grant special loot or additional Merit when completed, you cannot have more than one at any given time.
		</p>

		<p dir="ltr" style="background-color:#2d2d2d;color:#bfbfbf;font-size:14px;">
			You invest Merit into a Goal during a Travel-phase and then attempt to complete a full plot without violating the conditions or limits imposed by it.  If you succeed you get the Merit or loot reward based on the difficulty of the Goal and how much Merit was invested, if you fail the Goal resolves and you get nothing.
		</p>

		<p dir="ltr" style="background-color:#2d2d2d;color:#bfbfbf;font-size:14px;">
			Goal difficulty is determined on a character-by-character basis as "No healing" is much more difficult for the main support character than it is for the fighter with no healing abilities.

Damage reduction in one category grants 50% effectiveness in its Parent/Child category(s), Sibling categories do not benefit from this effect. This effect does not stack with itself or any other effects. (For example Slashing has the Child categories of Cutting and Tearing, if you have armor that grants 10 DR vs Slashing/Cutting it will grant 5 DR vs Tearing as an extension of Slashing but it won't boost Cutting to 15 DR.) Any damage dealt must now specify what damage type(s) it carries, this is mandatory.

			<strong>Stats:</strong><br />

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Mass:</strong> Mass is how heavy and sturdy a ship is, all but the smallest or lightest of modules add to this stat and having too much slows down the ship.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Power: </strong>Power represents the energy keeping your ship moving, be it a combustion engine, a magical reactor, or a glowing crystal.  Anyone that has a high energy draw reduces Power, but adding more engines can increase it.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Drive:</strong> Drive is the ship’s ability to maneuver and travel with higher values representing faster and more precise movement.  Add jet engines, sails, or other propulsion devices to increase Drive.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Firepower: </strong> Firepower represents a ship’s ability to blow the competition out of the proverbial water.  Cannons, lasers, machine guns, and any other weapon increases Firepower and some may interact differently with the enemy’s Armor.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Armor:</strong> Armor is all about how good your ship is at taking a hit and not giving a shit.  Some types of weapons may be completely stopped by certain armor types, while some may not be affected by them at all.  Add tough materials, energy shields, or other devices to improve Armor.<br />

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Stock: </strong> Stock represents various infinite or near infinite resources that modules in the ship produce and consume, while it can be almost anything some modules require specific types of stock(A chaingun can’t exactly shoot live rabbits).  Add resource collection to increase Stock.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Space: Space is well...space.  It represents how big the ship is and how many modules you can shove into it.  Improve hull size or add space warping to increase Space.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Movement:</strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			A ship’s Drive-to-Mass ratio determines its movement speed and abilities.
		</p>

		<p>
			A ship with more(or equal) Drive to Mass has standard speed a maneuverability.
		</p>

		<p>
			A ship with twice or more Drive to Mass is exceptionally fast and maneuverable, gaining some benefit to their armor or being flat out impossible to hit.
		</p>

		<p>
			A ship with negative Drive to Mass can be sluggish or difficult to maneuver and likely isn’t going to be dodging or outpacing another ship any time soon.
		</p>

		<p>
			A ship with less than half Drive to Mass moves at a snail’s pace with little to no maneuverability to speak of, but it still stands.
		</p>

		<p>
			A ship with no Drive cannot stay aloft in the presence of gravity and is at the whims of celestial winds, void powers, or anything else that acts upon it.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Combat:</strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			When a ship decides to attack another ship it(usually) brings down the full force of all available Firepower(weapons that are supplied, crewed, and can be aimed at the target) on the defending ship with the intent of inflicting Wreckages.
		</p>

		<p>
			Wreckages reduce the defending ship’s stats in some way, usually by damaging or destroying modules.
		</p>

		<p>
			A ship can only inflict as many Wreckages as they have weapons(unless specified otherwise) and if the Firepower of the attacking ship is less than the Armor of the defending ship the attacking ship can only inflict Wreckages to Armor modules.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Other effects:</strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			Some effects commonly increase or reduce a ship’s Armor or Firepower.  Some Armor modules may be more effective against some damage types or completely ineffective against others.(Weapons only ever have Parent damage types.)
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Some weapons may inflict more than one Wreckage, while other may not inflict any at all.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Crew members often have abilities which weight certain Wreckages over others or allow functions such as targeted attacks.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Making a targeted attack against specific modules of an enemy ship reduces the attacking ship’s effective Firepower, but also ignores Armor modules that wouldn’t protect the targeted modules(for example the sails on the deck of a ship wouldn’t benefit from the hull Armor bonus during a targeted attack.).

	<span style="font-size:8px;">A reboot of the game<a href="http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=153808.0" rel="external nofollow"> Trespassers of the Multiverse</a> on bay12. </span><br /><br /><br />
	There exists an untold number of universes, each with its own friendships, wars, gods, and demons. Each one with countless stories to tell. More are generated every instant, as new possibilities unfold and new minds are born with new ideas in a fractal expansion.<br /><br />
	However, one of these many expansions went terribly, horribly wrong.<br /><br />
	Horrific monstrosities, barely having a true form and defying all common or uncommon logic in description, were born in the gap between worlds. They ached to fill the gaping void within themselves with true existence, and so they fell upon the myriad worlds, devouring all that they ran across, some assuming the forms of familiar foes turned alien and some forcing their way into the hearts and minds of the people responsible for protecting the worlds they lived in.<br /><br />
	The multiverse has held its own for eternities. These incursions are met by bands of heroes or chosen individuals with the strength of mind and arm to defeat them, wherever they appear. However, the war is turning. More and more worlds are falling to the beasts - called Trespassers for their lack of belonging - and their closest things to lords or kings have begun appearing - Pure Trespassers, raw destructive, consuming essence with a hatred for existence itself.<br /><br />
	So the multiverse is fighting back. You have been chosen, lifted from your home universe, to fight these foes wherever they appear. Are you prepared to accept this mantle of duty, strong enough to fight to save every existence?<br />

			Basically, the premise of the game is this: A bunch of people from a bunch of different universes are pulled together by a cosmic force to kill big nasty monsters. It'll be a mixture of freeform RP and mechanically-based combat. There will be a number of chapters; some primary ones run by myself to advance a greater story arc, and smaller, player-made ones that can be virtually whatever you imagine, with breaks in between for the characters to rest and prepare for the coming battles - as well as getting to know each other. Maybe the heroes heard that a powerful artifact for fighting Trespassers is on a world, and they've got to prove they're worthy of it; maybe one of the PC's homeworlds is at risk of being devoured. It's entirely up to you guys (though I'll still be overseeing them, of course.)

			<strong>Age: </strong>(Should also be self-evident.)
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Gender/Sex: </strong>(Male? Female? Something in between?)
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Race: </strong>(No, not skin colour. Are you human? Vulcan? Generic Mary Sue half-breed hybrid?)
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Appearance: </strong>(What do you look like? If you have alternate forms, their appearance should go here. Weapons and stuff are optional.)
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Personality: </strong>(What are you like? No need for an essay here, leave room for some character exploration.)
		</p>

		<p>
			<br /><strong>Perks:</strong> Powerful, semi-unique bonuses that a character gets, that either give sweeping boosts to overall power or significantly change the way a character operates, among other things such as strong signature attacks. These are very flexible, and allowed to bend the rules more than other things. It is recommended to read through the entire system before picking one. <br /><br /><strong>Each character starts with two perks, and gains an additional perk every 5 levels. One more perk can be 'bought' with a Flaw; essentially a negative Perk. </strong>A flaw represents an innate weakness, such as a vulnerability to a certain kind of damage.<br /><br />
			Example Perks:
		</p>

		<p>
			<em>Swift: Character gains +1 DEX per level.</em>
		</p>

		<p>
			<em>Power Overwhelming: Character's level is 1.3x higher for all calculations. Does not grant bonus AP or stat points.</em>
		</p>

		<p>
			<em>Stand Proud: Character has a strong entity that they can summon to aid them in battle.</em>
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Level:</strong> Increased whenever the GM deems it appropriate, generally when reaching plot milestones. New characters start at level 5.
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>HP:</strong> Equal to 30+(Level*CON)
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Initiative:</strong> Your bonus to initiative, generally DEX minus any penalties you may have.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Base Stats: </strong>14 points at base+4 per level. (Formula being [10+Lv*4].) Stat caps are 5+Level*1.5, rounded down. (At level 6, you have 34 stat points and your stats are capped at 12.)
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Strength: How physically powerful a character is. Some equipment might be heavy, reducing initiative unless the user meets a certain strength score.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Dexterity: A general measure of coordination and speed. One of two stats permissible for critical hit chances, and increases character initiative.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Intelligence: A general idea of how well-educated and knowledgeable a character is, as well as their ability to manipulate data. The only stat that can be used for both critical hit chances and support abilities.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Constitution: How resilient a character is to incoming damage. Determines character health, and is frequently targeted by debuffs.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Synergy: Measures power not covered by other stats, such as magical energy or the strength of one's onboard nuclear reactor. Can do anything, but has no particular effects.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Actions:</strong> Generally speaking, "things characters do." They can be active, passive, or take the form of equipment - more on that later. You get 10 AP to start, and 2 for every level. (Formula is 8+2*Level.) Actions cost 1 AP to create and level. You also start with 5 action slots, and gain one every even level. Additionally, every character can take the "Defend" action unless prevented from acting somehow, reducing incoming damage by 50% after all other calculations. (Does not have initiative, or reduce pure damage.) Action level is capped at two above character level.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Examples:</strong>
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Magic Bolt: Deals 2d6+SYN+DEX/2 damage to a single target.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 1: Deal 1d6+SYN damage.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 2: Adds a d6 of damage.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 3: Adds half of the character's Dexterity to the damage.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Soothe: Restore 1d4+INT health to a single target and remove two negative statuses from it.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 1: Heal for 1d4 health.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 2: Additionally removes one negative status effect.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 3: Removes an additional status.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Rend: Inflicts a bleed that deals DEX/2+3 damage for 2+1d4 turns to a single target.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 1: Inflicts DEX/2 bleeding damage on each of the target's turns, lasting 3 turns.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 2: Increase duration to 2+1d4.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Level 3: Increases damage by 3.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			A note on complexity: You can make your effects as convoluted as you want. However, consider this an official establishment of the <strong>"tl;dr clause"</strong>: the GM is not liable for things he forgets to roll on your sheet. Therefore, you are best served by keeping your effects simple and distinct - it's good for my sanity and yours.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Equipment and Crafting: </strong>Equipment in this game is handled in terms of the action system; a piece of gear goes into your sheet where any other action might, with comparable effects. The main difference is that equipment can be traded between characters, and can only be leveled by crafting and training with it. You can also "craft" actions by training, if your character's not the type to load up on fancy bits of metal and magical trinkets; you can't give these away, obviously, but these "tricks" otherwise function like equipment.
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong> </strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			Crafting will generally be an opposed check, with your relevant stat(s) being added to your roll and the difficulty being added to the opposing. Degree of success is taken into account as well. When the GM deems it appropriate - generally after reaching critical points in a plot or completing one - everyone in the party will recieve three crafting tokens, which can be used to level up equipment. If the player in question is wholly uninterested in crafting, they may trade all three tokens in for one AP. In the case of cooperative crafting, the token is used up by the recieving character. Tokens will roll over between sessions, but a character cannot exceed 5 available tokens (if they would, they automatically trade three tokens in for AP.) Equipment level is capped in the same way action level is.
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong> </strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			Each character begins the game with effective craft tokens equal to their level+2, which are to be spent during character generation on creating and leveling equipment.
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong> </strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Examples:</strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong> </strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Iron Plate: </strong>A sturdy suit of plate that reduces incoming slashing and piercing damage by 2 points, but reduces the wearer's initiative by 4-STR.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Base: 1 damage reduction, 5 weight.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Craft Level: Improved fittings reduce effective weight by 1.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Craft Level: Better tempering increases damage reduction by 1.
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong> </strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Grounding Amulet: </strong>A carefully crafted and enchanted pendant that safeguards against electricity.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Base: 20% reduced damage from electrical attacks only.
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong> </strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			<strong>Claymore: </strong>A rather large sword, good for muscling through armor. It deals 3d4+STR damage and ignores three points of damage reduction.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Base: Deals 1d4+STR damage.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Craft Level: A sharpened blade improves damage by 1d4.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Craft Level: An enchantment for increased power improves damage by 1d4.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Craft Level: Careful weighting allows this weapon to ignore 3 points of damage reduction.

			<strong>Is this game accepting signups?/Can I add another character?</strong><br /><br />
			Signups will never close. As long as you don't do something blatantly stupid/douchey, you'll never be barred from the game. However, secondaries and tertiaries will only be allowed for people who have at least some history of regular activity consisting of good posts. Simply put, if you're not putting in effort on one character, I have no reason to give you another.<br /><br /><strong>I have no idea what's happening and I don't understand the rules.</strong><br /><br />
			Join the Discord. I can break it down into a more digestible format, if this doesn't work for you. If you have any questions (that aren't answered here), ask me or one of the other players. Looking at other character sheets, especially the GM ones, is also an excellent way to begin parsing the system (and is highly recommended even if you do, given that this game is balanced strongly on precedent.)<br /><br /><strong>Why are there so many threads?</strong><br /><br />
			Individual chapters of main story plots are broken up into multiple threads, for the sake of organization. Most rest/interaction phases are also broken into multiple threads, to make things easier to follow; this game has a <em>lot </em>of characters, 46 at the time of writing this, so spreading them out over four or so threads keeps threads more coherent. If you're confused as to which threads are active at a given moment, ask. <br /><br /><b>This character is overpowered.</b><br /><br />
			If you think a part of another character's kit, or a combination of elements in their kit, is overpowered (or underpowered), bring it up in PM or the salt channel. I prefer the latter, but understand some may be uncomfortable with discussing things in public.<br /><br /><strong>My character is too weak and I want to change them.</strong><br /><br />
			There is a rule that allows you to move around one AP per level after character creation. However, I generally <em>do not </em>allow total character reworks; there are a lot of resources for you to use during character generation, including outright having someone build the mechanical parts of your character for you. Exceptions will be made to characters that suffer from systemic changes, if and when they are made.

	<br /><strong>Rules:</strong>
</p>

<ul><li>
		All global forum rules apply.
	</li>
	<li>
		Respect all other players, and the GM.
	</li>
	<li>
		Try to avoid making your character a Mary Sue. The greater subforum has some guidelines for what this term means, if you do not know.
	</li>
	<li>
		Avoid "l0l so rAndUm" characters or outright evil/sociopathic ones. If they don't have a reason to work with the party to save the multiverse, they don't belong in this game.
	</li>
	<li>
		Bunnying - controlling another character without their consent - is <strong>strictly </strong>forbidden.
	</li>
	<li>
		Player killing is also generally forbidden. This isn't an arena game.
	</li>
	<li>
		Keep mentions of sex and violence within reasonable moral and legal bounds. Explicit depictions are against the rules, after all. If you must, learn the fine art of the fade-to-black.
	</li>
	<li>
		Posts should be two or three sentences minimum, with decent grammar and spelling. This isn't a hard and fast rule, but do avoid consistently terse posts. If you're having trouble, ask for help.
		<ul><li>
				In keeping with the above, avoid bullet-posting - making rapid, usually short, posts in a short amount of time, unless your character is in a one-on-one situation. Doing this makes it difficult for other players to keep up; the players are scattered across numerous timezones and areas of availability.
			</li>
		</ul></li>
	<li>
		If there is an ongoing interaction between two players, please ask before inserting your character, in keeping with Rule 2 on this list.
	</li>
	<li>
		I reserve the right to add more rules as-needed.
	</li>
</ul><p>

</p>

<p>
	So, interested? Character sheet ended up a bit of a slog, but I wanted to be thorough.

<p>
	There is a certain beauty to this place, an infinite starry shower of worlds, passing into and out of existence, more stories than there are dots of light in the sky, this cycle of creation and destruction is one which contains the glory and majesty of light and life.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	It is here that we see the delicate balance of worlds floating along is disrupted, that they are plunged beneath the thin film of sanity upon which they reside.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In this place, there were now monsters, creatures which consumed all before them, and in turn became all before them.  An endless tide of hungry mouths, sapping the very essence of all that is.  Tainting what they touch, destroying what lies before them, leaving nothing behind.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In a Multiverse Beset by creatures beyond comprehension, there are still heroes, this is the story of one such group, a group of potentially powerful beings, each from the far corners of many worlds.  They have been brought together in a lull of the action, one no less deadly, and no less important to the fate of everything.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	These Privileged few are not here to tear down the works of these Black Invaders, but rather, to bolster the forces that would oppose them.  To bring war and peace in equal measure, to give strength to worlds that are pure, that they might survive the things that Trespass upon them.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	These Privileged few are indeed you.  You who have been taken from your home reality, wherever that may be, with the intention of helping to preserve the world you once existed in, and in addition, every other world that exists upon the gossamer void that stretches across the endless infinity.
</p>

			Basic System Rundown: Every round, every character in the fight posts one Action per Move they have, and who they're using it on, if applicable. (E.g. Haruka uses Shield Bash on Familiar #3.) Characters can talk, you can describe their actions in detail, etc. Damage is reduced by RES if applicable, and then subtracted from the victim's health. Once every action is submitted, the GM will process them all in the order of initiative, and then the process begins again next round.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Initiative: Characters' first Moves will be ordered by their base Dexterity, Plus or Minus any bonuses or Maluses, the remainder of their Moves will be scattered equally in the initiative order below them.  Players may choose to lower the initiative of their Moves, but cannot raise them without special effects.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Characters with equal Dexterity will enter a contested roll to see who is the faster.<br /><br />
			Summons: There are two types of summon; companions, and minions. Companions don't take an action to summon, and draw all of their stats from their owner, costing a perk to have in the first place. A PC with a companion and one without will have the same overall stat total; the former splits their stats among two entities. Minions will be handled case-by-case.<br /><br />
			Standard Statuses:
		</p>

		<p>
			-Burn: Deals high damage over time, but is reduced by RES.
		</p>

		<p>
			-Poison: Deals damage over time, ignoring RES.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Dropping to Zero Health: This game will use an injury system. You can take up to three injuries before you die. Injuries are inflicted only when a character drops to zero (or lower) health. Mechanically, an injury functions as a Flaw that is chosen by me (or the GM of the current plot, which I will then vet.) Healing these injuries may be offered as an alternate reward after completing a plotline.
		</p>

		<p>
			<br />
			Errata: This kind of system requires a lot of little (and sometimes not-so-little) specifications and adjustments. I'll record them here as they're made.<br /><br />
			Nerfs, Buffs: A lot of the time, a character will turn out under- or overpowered. That's okay! We can adjust it on the fly. Be willing to accept that the GM makes mistakes and might have to reduce your character's power to fall in line with others of the same level.<br /><br />
			Sheet Maintenance: Players are expected to maintain their own sheets and make changes as the GM recommends. Failure to do so will invite GM action if it becomes an issue.<br /><br />
			Bound: Items can be purchased with Merit from time to time, or the player may start with an additional item instead of one of their Starting Abilities.  Items obtained in this manner must have an explanation as to how they came into being, and have the Bound Quality, which prevents them being sold, traded, or destroyed, unless the AP is somehow refunded, or additional Merit is spent to remove this quality.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Perk-backed Actions: They have a baseline power level higher than that of normal ones (since Perks are much more limited) and don't cost AP to get, though they do cost AP to level further.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Critical Hit Systems: The game has no innate critical hit system. Critical strike abilities are limited to scaling off of DEX or INT, outside of Extenuating circumstances.
		</p>

		<p>

		</p>

		<p>
			Over-encumbrance: Players are Encouraged not to overburden their characters with unnecessary resources Items, or Tricks, and, upon request, encounters may be made to help rid them of unwanted items or tricks in return for boons or benefits of some kind.  This only applies to Characters who have an egregious amount of wealth at their disposal, locked up in errata and small highly detailed entities.

	Jack and Akihiro climbed aboard the Enterprise having retrieved the printable <i>Message</i> scroll from the Constructor connected to the Bounty Board.  A few minutes of fiddling before Akihiro deciphers the strange mechanism that actually activates the scroll and calls them to their job.
</p>

<p>
	A few tense minutes pass before The Enterprise, along with everyone and everything on it, slowly shimmers out of existence.  The Enterprise reappears swaying gently in the waves just outside a large coastal village.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Behind the village are lush snow-capped mountains as far as the eye can see.  In the distance beyond you see a large pillar of black smoke some miles away.  Several other ships are in the port, mostly moving cargo on or off, several people are already pointing and staring at the strange ship that just <em>appeared </em>from nothing.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	A group of men in hooded brown robes are waiting on one of the empty docks, they're looking right and the ship and appear to be waiting.

<p>
	You all awaken bleary-eyed and groggy of head, sitting or standing in a brightly lit room.  Wherever you were before, that was then and this is now.  A few nice(if somewhat cheap) chairs surround a large oval conference table and the whole room follows a white/yellow/polished metal color scheme with a couple artificial plants in the corner, a single door emblazoned with an "H" and a large window.  Beyond the window is black starry void, with the occasional distant meteor passing by.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	A few seconds pass for everyone to catch their barings before a screen suddenly drops down in front of the window and flickers to life.  A man wearing a sharp almost <em>handsome</em> mask appears on the screen fiddling with some kind of device on his shirt before turning back to someone off screen.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#ffcc33;">"Is this thing even on?  Hello?"</span>
</p>

<p>
	He seems to come to the sudden realization that everyone in the room can in fact hear him loud and clear and turns back to face the camera.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#ffcc33;">"Goooood morning sleepy heads, you might be wondering where you are and what asshole is talking to you through a monitor, both very good questions I don't really care about.  All you need to know is that I had my lad boys pull you out of whatever life or death situation you were in and put you here, saving your lives and putting you in my debt in the process."</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<font color="#ffcc33">"My name is Handsome Jack and now you work for me, do well and I'll make you rich beyond your wildest dreams, fail and I'll personally take a shit down your throat, chop you into little pieces, and feed you to a bunch of Skags.  Do we have an understanding?  What am I saying of course we do, who wouldn't want to work for me?"</font>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Jack's face is quickly replaced by several diagrams, one showing a giant "H" shaped space-station, and another that focuses in on a group of small asteroids held together with a sort of gothic like architecture of copper and stone.
</p>

<p>
	<br /><font color="#ffcc33">"Now your first task is going to be a bit of cleanup duty, ya'see this asshole scientist guy set up a whole bunch of secret labs on the space-station and surrounding asteroids.  My loaders have already taken care of most of them, but there's one that's guarded by these weird goopy black things, that's why I'm sending you."</font>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Jacks face flickers back over the diagrams about halfway through his description.  He turns back to someone off-camera with a questioning glare before he returns to respond.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<font color="#ffcc33">"One of the lab boys just reminded me I should mention you're all from different worlds and that you shouldn't panic or kill eachother on sight.  Whatever, the loaders will be there shortly to escort you to a ship."</font>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The screen dies down and quickly retracts back up into the ceiling.

	Traveling through the portal dropped the party in a less than pleasant place, a tiny cell practically standing on the bones of the previous resident.  Through the cell bars you can see that the cell is at the base of some kind of pit or tower with six cells in total on the ground floor.  The stone walls are still quite sturdy at roughly a foot and a half thick, but the metal bars of the cell you're in didn't fair as well and have nearly collapsed to corrosion.
</p>

<p>
	The roof of each cell is arched along with the bar door, above you there is another set of six cells off set from the set below.  A simple wood catwalk rings the floor level of the cells above, though the actual cells have stonework floors.  The "tower" continues up this way two more floors before reaching a ceiling at the fifth more open floor.
</p>

<p>
	In the center of the room, which is a circle about twelve feet across, there is a small pool of water, the crumbled remains of a wooden ladder, and a half-rotten wooden bucket hanging from a thick chain attached all the way up top.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	You can hear the sound of combat from above, though with the notable lack of screams of death and agony.

	Those stepping through the glowing purple portal are greeted with a veritable wall of heat and the stench of sulfurous fumes.  An obsidian frame identical to the one on the other side rests upright against a cliff face of pink and red stone.  A ledge extends about thirty feet out from the cliff face before dropping down several hundred to a massive ocean of lava as far as the eye can see.  Above there a cave ceiling made of the same pink and red stone with the occasional mass of tenuous glowing golden crystals growing downwards.<br />
	The ledge to the left narrows slowly before wrapping around the corner of the cliff out of sight.  To the right it takes an upward slope that leads to the plateau above the portal.  Beyond the hill structures made of black brick can be seen.  Heavy breathing and gargling snorts can be heard nearby.<br /><br />
	Tim can be seen near the portal looking out over the ledge and ocean of lava.

<p>
	After Pirate Jack and Akihiro left for the Forgotten Realms, Scarlet, Harold, and Raider Jack gathered before the Bounty Board and arranged to get transported to the target world.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	--
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Layers of clouds loomed over the plains and hills before the group. The sun barely glimmered through the gray seams. It seemed to be around noon.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The air felt off. Something in the air was passively hostile, though at best they could only detect radiation, strange considering how there didn't seem to be any visible hints of a nuclear explosion nearby. Otherwise, there was noticeable moisture in the air.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Asphalt roads lined the hills, yet the suburban houses situated along them looked so lifeless that one could only assume that no one had used the paths for decades. The roads lead to a city that didn't really look much better. A river ran by the city, reflecting the gloomy colors of the sky. That must be Smederevo, the slums mentioned in the pitch.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	Shifting figures dotted the hills sparsely, wandering all on their own. It wouldn't be hard to avoid them, but perhaps investigating them could lead to greater understanding of this world.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	An address was enclosed in the pitch. If the group knew Serbian, they could infer that their client would be meeting them at a shopping mall. But in plain English, the specific spot was apparently a broken toilet in the basement. In any case, with the city in a ruined state, that mall would probably only have the facade of a huge building left, so it'd take some time to find it.

<p>
	Finally, after traveling through multiple dimensional locales, the bus and the Weatherlight stop in another location, the slight jolt of landing announcing to the passengers of the latter that the ship had touched on solid ground. Those waiting for the vehicles to continue would find that even after several moments, they stayed firmly planted where they were. End of the line, then, at least for now.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Leaving the ships, those of the party still remaining would find themselves immediately struck by two things. The first was that wherever they had ended up was an <em>awfully </em>barren place. In three directions, there was nothing but dirt, light brown, dry, and dusty, stretching as far as the eye could see — no matter how good said eye was. There were occasional patches of green grass, but even those faded away with distance, growing sparser and sparser before the horizon became absolutely nothing, stretching far away.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The second striking thing was that the place felt <em>strange</em>. Even those without any magical senses whatsoever could feel something unsettling about the place — something they wouldn’t be able to put their finger on, but which did <em>not</em> feel natural. For two people, these feelings were significantly more acute, and likely quite concerning. Ena’s internal sensors were practically blaring to her that everything was fucked, ever, but other sensors to the outside, such as sight and hearing, were completely unable to verify this reading — she could not detect anything <em>specific</em>. As for Kusuke, he was getting a very distinct feeling of dizziness, one that was likely extremely alarming but which he could at least evidently banish with effort... though the unnerving effect of it likely remained.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Though three directions of the area from the ships had nothing, it seemed that one actually contained a few things. Several yards away from the ship was a road, a narrow little one which stretched into the horizon, and a few yards off of that was a pair of rocks, around four feet high, and a tree — a bizarrely deciduous looking one, for such a dry place. On top of each of these rocks was a man. They both looked like older fellows, in their fifties most likely, and both had brown hair with grey streaks, old suits, and bowler hats. One of the men was somewhat rounder, and fairly short, though not fat, clean-shaven — and his suit looked absolutely beaten up, the man missing one shoe (which on closer inspection appeared to have been flung several feet away). He was sleeping. One of these men was thinner, gaunter, taller and looked more pristine, with a thin beard and mustache. He... well, he was freaking out.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#E68A00;">“Buh— whuh— huh— G— Gogo! Gogo! </span><em><span style="color:#E68A00;">Estragon!</span></em><span style="color:#E68A00;">”</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	He grabbed the bowler hat off of his head and tossed it like a frisbee at the other man, the hat bouncing lightly off of his head. The other man sleepily blinked and stirred, then his eyes shit open as he beheld the party and also started freaking out.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#008AE6;">“Vladimir; what did you wake me up fooooOOOOR?! Are— are they Godot??”</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="background-color:#181818;font-size:16px;"><span style="color:#E68A00;">“Good question... I really have no idea!”</span> He faced the party: <span style="color:#E68A00;">”Hey! Is one of you Godot?!</span></span><span style="background-color:#181818;font-size:16px;"><span style="color:#E68A00;">”</span> </span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The more beaten-up-looking man spoke again, causing Vladimir to turn his head. <span style="background-color:#181818;font-size:16px;"><span style="color:#008AE6;">“Wait, wait, wait, Didi, Didi, what if they’re all Godot?</span></span><span style="background-color:#181818;font-size:16px;"><span style="color:#008AE6;">”</span></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="background-color:#181818;font-size:16px;">This got a pensive pause from the thinner man, before he boded and looked back to the party. <span style="color:#E68A00;">”Hey! Are all of you Godot?!”</span></span>

	Already waiting for them at a nearby table, a middle aged man with pale skin and an almost vampiric demeanor warmly looks over the group of strangers, a book claps shut in his hands.

<p>
	Today probably could be going better for most of you. Not that it was a bad day necessarily, by all means, this had been the chance of a lifetime. An ad for a company that could apparently fix any problem you had with your body, and they’d set you up with a job that would leave you with a decent chunk of change when your employment with them was over.
</p>

<p>
	It was a no brainer really. Of course, as one by one you were called out of the waiting room, a sense of dread started to overcome you. Maybe you shouldn’t have done this… but it was too late to turn back then. You picked one of the procedures, and then they got to work on you, putting you out to begin their procedures…
</p>

<p>
	That would be the last thing you remembered before you woke up. Looking around you apparently were still in the facility, except there wasn’t anyone there aside from other people you saw in the waiting room. Of course that would be if you weren’t in the middle of observing the results of your procedures. Whether that means amazement at how your body is now in working order, or horror at how they’ve changed you is up to you to decide though.<br />

	<strong>Outskirts of Test Site A-26</strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After a bit of time and work, the group taking care of the Alien piece of hardware and responding to XCOM’s call for aid would find the device calmly repeating coordinates for their world, and sure enough, when they directed the ship there, they would arrive at a place vastly resembling the planet Earth, only at nighttime, unfortunately. The entire surrounding area was a heavy forest, with several large pillars of rock scattered around. However, despite the darkness, the group could well enough see the faint red lights of… Something ahead, along with a sleek, black road not too far from where the Weatherlight dropped them off.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The device that was the key that brought them here, assuming they had brought it, had its screen flash with red, before seeming to shut off completely.

	<strong>Nader, Alan, Aquila, Contagion, and Blue Occultist arrive in XCOM!</strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<br />
	After a bit of wait, Proditor himself had taken the device that had been dropped into the bus, recognizing the alloy used for the material before playing it, listening to the entire recording, which was likely loud enough for the rest of the party to hear. Just as it finished, the bus seemed to finally reach a destination, screeching to a halt as Proditor rose, his mind checking the area around the bus to confirm where they were.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After a second of that, his voice suddenly entered in both Harry and Frigus’s mind, <span style="color:#2980b9;">“Follow me. I believe there is something we must take care of”</span> he said before heading out of the bus, straightening once he was out and floating out a bit, his head turning to look at his surroundings. Shortly after Harry and Frigus got off the bus, the vehicle would go back to life before moving on to whatever else it needed to go, leaving the three to investigate the area.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Specifically, they would find themselves in front of a small gap between two pillars, with a large, sleek, black building shrouded in the dark, with small walls brimming with red energy, buzzing lightly as energy continued to go through them.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Soon enough though, Proditor would speak again, his voice still only appearing in their minds,<span style="color:#2980b9;"> “As I suspected… Both of you, welcome to my own world” </span>he stated, <span style="color:#2980b9;">"... Unfortunately, this is likely the best greeting you will get from here."</span>

	<br /><strong>Sister Rachel</strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After a bit of time, Sister Rachel would finally be able to find the location that several shady people she met had referred to. One of the Xenos bases of operations, a key location of theirs where they conducted strange tests. Needless to say, with the heavy patrols in the area, they weren’t keen on losing this location. But, it wasn’t heavy enough so that Sister Rachel couldn’t sneak in close. But, eventually, there seemed to be a break in her stealth approach, as now there were a group of three of the Xenos troops standing in front of one of the only entrances through their clearly electrified walls, keeping an eye out for anything that didn’t belong. Specifically,<span> <a href="https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/xcom/images/c/c4/XCOM2_ADVENTTrooper.png/revision/latest?cb=20160225063408" rel="external nofollow">two grunts</a></span>, due to their armor, and one of their <a href="https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/xcom/images/1/10/Officertransparent.png/revision/latest?cb=20160526015638" rel="external nofollow">Captains</a>, with their blood red armor and cape.

	<em>“Let me guess, it’s the same old song and dance. You used to be in the military, you got wounded in action, a nice medal, and then you were told to go fuck yourself right? That’s how a lot of people end up working in these things. But, this is really the chance of a lifetime. We’ll make sure you don’t need those rusty outdated cybernetics. We’ll make you whole again. All you have to do is sign up for our procedure and then do a tour of duty with us, no catch. What d’you say?”</em><br />
	        -Commander Slate
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	In this game, players will take the role of Military Veterans, college dropouts, homeless vagabonds, or anyone who is desperate enough for cash or a better chance at life, who have agreed to sign up with a Paramilitary Corporation who claims they can restore and heal their bodies.  In return for healing leaps and bounds above modern medicine, they will serve a tour of duty, traveling to other dimensions to pursue the interests of their new commanders.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The catch, as there is always one, is that their methods, which are seemingly beyond conventional science...  Might be.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Mechanically, the game works on a simple D20 system. You roll a D20 and that determines if you succeed. Of course, these rolls don’t have to be unmodified. After you get your power(s) you get to use those to make [Keywords]. Keywords are listed under one of the four stats, and when you use it, it expends a point in that stat. In return, it modifies the roll to auto-succeed, Grant a bonus 50% to the roll, do nothing, give a 50% malus to the roll, or to auto-fail it. <br />
	Players have a number of Hits, or Hit Points, equal to their stat total. They lose one HP when a successful attack occurs against them.
</p>

<p>
	After your character sheet is completed and the GMs are informed, we will go over it and, with our spooky powers of deduction, offer you a choice of four powers to choose from. Then you may arrange your stats and should you be dissatisfied with how your power level stacks up with the rest of the cast, we will provide extra gear from the Metal Gear setting to compensate.<br />

</p>

<p>
	Character sheet: (Only the portion above the stats needs to be completed now.)

	You pass though the glowing disc, now revealed to be a portal, and it closes behind you with a faint 'vworp'.  You find yourself in a starkly beautiful, alpine forest.  The sun is rising, painting the tree-dotted landscape in orange and gold.  It's pretty chilly out, but the sun is enough to keep you warm.  It must be summer.  To the east, assuming the sun rises there in this place, you can see a small village.  Smoke rises from open-air, clay ovens and log houses, and the entire settlement is surrounded by a stockade made of sharpened logs.  A river runs through the town, and they have created a log barricade to keep undesirables from sailing in or out easily.  People dressed in furs and occasionally mail armor go about their business, with a far wider range of body types and far less gender discrimination than one might expect from what appears to be a medieval Scandinavian town.  Women actually seem a bit more likely than men to be going armed and armored.  Dane axes and spears appear to be the weapon of choice, though swords, crossbows, and warhammers are also popular.  The only other thing worth noting from this distance is that the sentries shields seem to have been re-painted recently, a crude, hot pink flower symbol covering whatever was on them before.
</p>

</p>

<p>
	"Santa Maria it's cold!" Vitor exclaims, despite the fact that the rest of you are feeling fine.  His tropical heritage is not serving him well here.  "Unless anyone has a serious objection, I vote we get out of the cold, or at least go barter for something warmer."
