But to end it all now was... unthinkable. Galen nods, and elects to withhold a little (a lot) from his response. "...I shall, Witch of the Knifewood. Your words are appreciated. I won't give up any time soon, that much I know for certain. For my own benefit, or for that of those who follow me." Her response again doesn't do anything to answer his question, but he just shrugs. "I cannot honestly say I understand what you mean. Perhaps you would have to explain it to me some other time." She's honestly a little happy she decided to leave when she did, seeing the kind of situation Brinda missing her spell had put them in--but regardless, they were a team now and that meant she'd do what she could to help them out. Owena was what the man before her had referred to her as and Galen the name Owena'd given that man. Perhaps she should spend the time to remember the names of her company. Whether Human, Dragonborn, or Half Fae, people tended to react better to those that at the least remembered their names. Or so Brinda had thought seemed to be the case. "l do tend to agree with the... Galen here myself." she caught herself before doing as she usually would. "Battle's a tumultuous rapid. A tide what ebbs and flows with chaos. lt pays to be aware of one's surroundings at all times. l learned as much in my times in the Knifewood... one tends to do so when any moment an angered dragon could appear and murder you on sight solely for what you are." Her voice almost drips with sarcasm as she emphasizes the 'good people', and a slight scowl crawls its way onto her face for a few moments. One thinks there would be a bit of a gap between that and becoming a soldier. I don’t mean to judge, of course.” At Owena’s warning Galen looks down and notices his wound. It was more severe than he had first realized... unfortunate. He would have liked to stay in the front more. “...You’re right. I should be more attentive to myself, I had no idea it was this deep. I’ll retreat for now. Both of you, take care.” With that, he moves behind Owena and away from the approaching Cursed. Galen moves to [N, 9]. While she may have joined... differently than the rest, she was still a comrade in arms. As he rage grew, so too did the passion and intensity of his flames. With little time to to regain composure two cursed charged at the captain. His eyes locked to both. First an ax-man approached, he swiftly sidestepped the crude swing before making an attack of his own. Two quick blade slashes were enough to catch the cursed a flame leaving it's charred body on the bridge. Unfortunely he was unable to avoid the wild swings and claw slashes of the other cursed. He grit through whatever pain it cause before stabbing the feral creature in the chest and unleashing a torrent of flame which launched the cursed blazing upstream and lifeless. "Someone help Brinda up! Quickly, more of them are coming!" He shouted down at the lower group. Wincing, Juliett glances down at the tear on her leg from the Cursed's attack, breathing out through her mouth. "Damn it, damn it..." These guys hurt more than she'd anticipated. With an expression of uncertainty, she looks out across the bridge again where a couple new ones have come to the take the places of the ones who've fallen to Nicolos' attacks. She wants to go help him out, but in her state, she'd be more hindrance than anything. Probably shouldn't get in his way. "Iba, let's fall back a little and wait for the next opportunity." The stallion strains against her tug on the reins and flaps his wings hard, rearing up with a snorting whinny as though in offense at the idea of retreating. "I said wait for the next opportunity. Well...she had more or less expected the cursed to go after the person right in front of her, having gone feral and all, but...she supposed going after an easier target like Brinda made about as much sense. ...That didn't mean she had to like it, though. On the contrary--her teeth grit and her hands grip tighter on her hatchet as she approaches the soldier who downed her teammate, glancing down at Brinda in for a few seconds in the meantime. "Hang tight, Brinda. I'm sure Vivi's coming." Turning her attention back to the soon-to-be-swatted Soldier, she growls out, "Hey! Your fight's with me, dickweed!" before taking a mighty swing at him. I need to assist Juliett.” With that, he takes off to do so. Galen dashes behind the shaman and takes a stab at his leg just after Juliett’s attack. “Let me lend you a hand.” he says to the rider, before taking note of her mount. “...I’m sorry, but what sort of horse is that, exactly? Well, it's not as if she's a total stranger to fighting more than one person at a time--and with the nature of the chokepoint, she shouldn't have any problem holding the south entrances. She's confident enough that she doesn't feel fazed when Galen needs to go and help out those fighting at the west entrance. As long as he's directing Vivi to come down and help Brinda--which, from the looks of it, he is. She turns her head towards the treeline for a second and asks, "Arissell, wasn't it? Help me get this shaman out of our hair for a second," before turning back towards the task at hand, taking a step forward and taking a swing at the dark mage.
