Marl was still in his bizarre pain-trance when he heard a familiar voice, and someone tried to lift him up from the ground. No sooner than did she start helping him up, when he spasmed forward and regained full consciousness.

"Wh-w-what happened?! Anea, why are y-" is what he managed to spit out before realizing the mess he was in, and turning to everyone else who had paid attention to his "spectacle" (both his being stunned by the Skald's shout, and being treated like a child by Anea).

He probably would've continued with I'll tear your abdomens open and use your small intestines as spare bowstrings, and the large intestines as your noose, but he managed to take control of his temper, and returned the arrow to his quiver.

Enemy Phase:

 

Up the hall, the remaining guards rumble with the enemy.

 

Spoiler: Lots of combat happens. Soldiers are hit by axeman. Soldier A dodges a blast from the mage by the skin of his teeth. Soldier B is finished by Archer C. The knight tosses a javelin at the mercenary. The shaman blasts the guard.

 

Back down with the party, a couple of soldiers seem overly focused on the door.

Alwine swung her hatchet in broad arcs and tossed one at an enemy mage as their magic washed over her, grinning like a maniac the entire time.

"Is that the best you can do? Bring it on! I LIVE for this!" She shouted another wordless battlecry as one enemy soldier leapt backward out of the way of her attack, then hurled the weapon into a mage that dared to throw a fireball in her direction. She simply took the opportunity to pull her warhammer from her belt. She aimed a mighty overhand blow at one of her rival, lesser knights.

Cassidy snickered to herself as she saw the knight that seemed out of place, battered and confused. She'd use this opportunity to sow her unique brand of chaos and further, look for any goodies she could get her hands on. She snuck up, an electric whisper on the wind, undetected, unseen. She rifled around in the Knight's armour seeing if there was any interesting goodies before she went for her signature trick. From behind she managed to unlatch the man's belt buckle and then with a quick tug, pull it entirely free of it's fastenings. Continuing her routine Cassidy put the motion from tearing away the belt backwards into a somersault to free herself of any retaliation that'd surely be coming. "Cassidy: 1 Belts: 0. And a little somefink fer my troubles~"

Linton moved towards the door as the sounds of combat grew very strong from beyond it -- peeking through a hole in the door, and then yanking his head back just in time to avoid the axe that splintered some of the wood.

"Well. Gentlemen, good news -- it looks like most of the Paxi forces are occupied by the party with the shouting Kahlan in it. We still have a couple of them to deal with, but we should be more than capable of that." He began lightly tapping his sword against the edge of the doorway, in precise time.

Aidan looked a bit... flustered to see Cassidy suddenly snatch the Knight's belt, and it almost threw him off his already slightly panicked game after Johan's roar. Afterwards, he looked at the Knight.

This time, Marl had braced himself for Johan's singing, and mostly managed to maintain his composure this time. He took out his Training Bow then rushed as far into the fray as he could (J23), before setting up an Overwatch position. Though his ballista was likely a surer shot at killing someone, he did not wish to fall too behind the group, if he wanted any glory out of this.

Well. This little group of recruits and assorted civilians and mercenaries certainly rose to the occasion, didn't it? Lysander couldn't help but feel some pride at being part of this little group. Though there was a pressing matter to tend to!
