Fire Emblem on the Forums: Deceitful Turnabout [OOC/Sign-Ups]

Long ago when the universe, when the universe was a black sea, the Goddess, Undia, came down and started creating the universe. She began with creating a plant full of life, the planet we reside. First she created a bountiful nature and then small creatures to reside within. Next she filled the land with light, bringing forth the sun, the moon and the stars. However, as she took care of the little planet she noticed that some of the small creatures had evolved into intelligent life. She found this very amusing and intriguing, she took to calling these new creatures “Humans”.

However, not all was peaceful in this universe. Looming in the background, the Goddess’ brother, Ethar, grew jealous of mankind. They took claim of all his sister’s attention. In a fit of rage he created his own type of life, monsters. He unleashed these beasts onto man and they stood no chance, but the Goddess would not stand idly by and watch this happen. She foraged the Fire Emblem to help the humans fend off the invading army as she went to go deal with her brother. The two siblings fought over the fate of the world, Undia battled with the aid of the Light spirits while Ethar with the aid of the Elder. Ultimately Undia would be victorious, however, she took mercy on her brother. Rather than kill him, she banished him from the universe forcing him back to the realm of the gods. Though she was not without wounds of her own. She did not have the power to keep a physical form, however, she linked herself up with a Human to speak through him. This man was Broxbert and he set up the Church of the sun as well as became its first pope.

The Humans were successfully able to scour the planet of all monsters thanks the the Fire Emblem. This powerful relic would the the savior of mankind, but also it’s downfall. Due to its fabled power, many men sought it. Whether for their righteous good or greedful evil. Wars spanning the entire globe were fought for it. Eventually, the humans killed more of themselves than monsters ever could. So a group of master mages who called themselves the Archesages, came together to stop this madness. With the help of the pope of their time they secured the Fire Emblem and sealed it away. Now with the lust for power quelled, humans banded together to form societies. These would become the kingdoms, cities and towns the world knows today.

Now a new problem faces the world. On the continent of Vona humans are disappearing and the populace is becoming restless. They fear that they or their friends and family maybe next. However, those who disappear know the truth. Everyone who has “disappeared” in actuality have been kidnapped by the kingdom of Aeyosal and forced into slave labor to create a large temple like structure. It’s name, The Temple of Respite, and it’s purpose unknown. You are one of these laborers. Whether you have worked for a day or for a year, you’ve been subjected to this line of work. You had not choice in the matter, but not for much longer. Fate has other plans for you and when it comes knocking at your cell door you best not shy away.

Welcome one and all to Chaos 2.0 or Deceitful Turnabout. This will be will my attempt to bring my RP back from the dead. Don’t worry about if you didn’t play in the last RP and a lot has been changed/updated. So old and new folks alike will be able to enjoy this tale. I myself am excited to be hosting this and I hope everyone will be excited to play. Without further delay, let's begin get on with it!

Rules:

We will be using Version 1.Salt for this RP. I suggest to get familiar with the rules for old and new players alike
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vex1ntiw6orvp0s/Players Handbook v1.Salt.pdf?raw=1

Changes:

General:

-Effective Damage is x3. Crossbows deal only x2 Effective Damage.
-Wind Magic is no longer effective against wyverns, thunder magic is.
-Sleeping units always wake up when hit. Sleep now forces dismounting on mounted units.
-People who use staves/performances auto-equip a weapon if they have it in their inventory and can use it.
-Supports and Terrain grant Damage Reduction instead of Defence.
-Units equipped with staves can now counter-attack at 1 range using their strength stat. Staff Might is not considered and they cannot declare an attack with a staff.
-Hit and Crit rolls are separated.
-Two affinities are chosen for a player based on birth month by the Hosts. The player then chooses one of them.
-Critical % chance hard-capped at 85.
-Performers can not move again when performed on by another performer.
-CON no longer used to determine amount of inventory slots. Every unit have 5 inventory slots, unless special rules are applied ('Bag of Holding' of Rogue class, for example).
-You die when the 'KO' counter goes to 0. Death is permanent.
-Automated Weapon Rank Progression: When you reach Level 10 in First Class, you choose one subcategory, either already ranked or from general category, and it gains 1 Rank up. The same happens when you reach Level 10 in Promoted Class.
-When you put +2 points into HP when creating your character it’s automatically +3

Skills:

Serenity (Free): Grants +10 Evasion and Dodge to all Allies in 3 tile radius. The owner of this skill does not gain this bonus. Multiple sources of Serenity do not stack.

Bargain (Free): This unit gains a 30% discount (rounded down) at shops, but cannot trade with other units or send items to the convoy.

Capture (Cost): This unit can declare the intent to use this ability before making an attack on an adjacent enemy that has lower constitution. The attack is made using half of their normal stats (apart from luck, con and hp). If they reduce an enemy to 0 HP with this ability, they may rescue them as if they were an allied unit, and trade using that units inventory and their own. On the following turn, they can choose to release the enemy (Who flees the map afterwards) or kill them for a bit less exp than normal. Mounted units (including pegasi and wyverns) cannot be captured unless they are afflicted by the sleep status condition and/or are dismounted.

Class Buffs/Nerfs

Bandit:
"Raid" is replaced with the "Capture" character skill for PC’s

Maid/Butler:
Live to Serve now grants benefits from Heal and Buff staffs buf half their effects. (For the same duration on buffs) They also gain +3 Aid stat to be able to rescue units they couldn’t usually.

Cavalier:
May choose either Swords or Axes as second weapon proficiency along with Lances. Will keep chosen proficiency upon promotion.

Knights:
'Hold the Line' changed to passively reduce the MOV of an enemy that enters a space adjacent to the Knight to 0.

Scavenger:
‘Scavenge Gold’ adds +25 gold per Trainee, +50 gold per unique T1 Enemy attacked, and +100 per unique T2 Enemy. This doubles on promotion.

Shamen:
‘Ancient Gamble’ is removed. Instead they gain 'Anthropomancy': Whenever this character lands the final blow on an enemy, they gain +10 to Evade and Dodge and +3 to Damage Reduction. At the end of every turn one third of the bonus is removed, starting with Damage Reduction, then Dodge and finally Evade. This ability does not stack with itself though it can refresh on another kill.

Spy:
Trapper is changed to ‘Ambush’: If this character initiates an attack while standing on a piece of defensive terrain, the number of counterattacks that the enemy may perform is reduced by 1.

Promoted Classes:

Bounty Hunter:
‘Steal Weapon’ only works if the weapon’s weight is less than or equal to this unit’s Constitution plus 1.
A Bounty Hunter can increase their proficiency in any weapon as if they had E-rank proficiency.

Crusader:
Can use mission from god more than once per battle to change their target. The first use is free but continual uses take up an action. If they land the killing blow on their target, at the start of their next turn they may designate another enemy as their target and still attack that turn.

Master Spy:
Regains the traps from Spy.

Combat Medic (Nomad Healer):
‘Medicine Man’ costs 100 gold to make a vulnerary, 200 gold for an antidote and 1500 gold to make an elixir.

Saint:
‘Transfer Might’ can be used on multiple allies, so long as the Saint’s Strength does not go under 0 and no allied unit gains more than 8 points of Strength. The transferred strength can be recovered at any time, as well as automatically when that ally is reduced to 0 HP.

Sentinel:
Now Gains Gamble: If this unit already has gamble they may choose another free skill to replace it.

Wanderer:
‘Bargain’ is removed. Instead they gain ‘Secret Knowledge’: The location of hidden items and equipment are automatically revealed at the start of the mission.

Lore/Geography

Aeyosal: Currently ruled by Emperor Garrot Nox, the one responsible for the construction of the Temple. One of the strongest nations during the Emblem War the house many of the finest warriors in the land. After the Emblem War Aeyosal began to focus more on nature. Battles between man weren't too kind to planet and caused great harm to it's eco system. Thus many took to the life of nomads, living off and giving back to the land and nature itself. The Aeyosal territory mostly consists of lush forests and vast plains as well as housing the Great Tree of Zadosa. With the threat of war now extinguished scholars have been able to begin research on the massive tree once more. However, very little progress has been made if any even after the years of research.

In the capital city of Ridian, this is where most of the nobles live. Most of them got their status through their feats in battle, but others have gotten their status through business related workings.

When the kingdom started kidnapping it's citizens, it started with travelers and wanderers. Now people mysteriously disappear from their homes without a trace. Your neighbors house may be lively and rowdy one day and go silent the next. Plus, it isn't only limited to Aeyosalian citizens, all around the continent men and women are being taken away. This has caused a lingering paranoia with most citizens. As of now, the public has no idea who or what is causing people to go missing.

Thoudal: Ruled by Empress Sairey, they are another strong nation though they govern more rugged terrain. This includes the mountainous upper region as well as the desert southern region. With very little farm land to work with, the nation main export is it's vast amounts of minerals and resources tucked within their mountains. Within this dessert contains the Pearlsand Chasm, a massive canyon that’s said to be one of the sources of monsters back when they still roamed the land. You can tell when you’re near due to the light magic infused sand near the crater. Though none have gotten too close to it in fear of falling in or stray monsters. Most tend to avoid the harsh desert entirely, though the few who enjoy the life in the sands make up the few who live there.

The Capital of Nocia is a defensive stronghold as well as the capital. To the north are a vast array of mountains, to the east and long the south the Great Thoris River blocks off passage except for Throis bridge which helps caravans cross the speeding fast rapids of the stream. During the Emblem war many have attempted to siege the capital but all have ended in failure. The Leader is chosen in a more barbaric way, rather then bloodline anyone may challenge the Ruler to a duel to the death. The victor remains or becomes the ruler, however in order to even have to right to fight the ruler the challenger must spar with their 5 finest knights and claim victory for each.

Xaenyth: A large island off the coast of Vona. Due to how shallow the waters are near the island it’s speculated that it might have once been connected the the continent at some point. Currently it is a neutral territory owned by the Church. It’s capital city is named after the first pope and is the residing area where the current pope lives. This is a theocracy. What the pope says is deemed the will of the goddess is the law of the land. There are many nations like Xaenyth who rule themselves under the goddess' word across the planet.

Other Continents/Nations: There are more continents/nations around this world, however the plot will focus on these two mainly.

Relationship Between Nations:

Thoudal and Aeyosal have a mutual distrust for each other. They were at odds since the beginning of the Emblem War. Usually things escalate quickly between these two, however Xaenyth always comes in as a mediator for the two. This system has worked out thus far, however, recently the two almost got into a war with each other over the death of the emperor's son, Kevin Nox. They blamed Thoudal Assassins for his death but the empress denies everything. Even now tensions are high but luckily no one has made a move yet. Strangely, no public announcement has come up for the five months since his death with has kept the tensions at the boarder particularly high.

Irithyll Mountains: Large, steep mountains, with the largest one on the planet contained there. At it’s peak is where the Archsages dwell, continuing their study of the three magical spirits as well as safeguarding the Fire Emblem from all those who wish to use its immense power. They tend to keep themselves isolated from the world and only communicate whenever necessary. They also shun outsiders and will not allow the settling of towns or cities on the island

Church of the Goddess/Other Religions

Church of the Goddess
This is the religion founded by Broxbert. It follows heavily on the teaches of the goddess Undia. The Pope is a worldwide trusted figure due to his connection to the Goddess. However, there is a taboo that must never be done. Due to Ethar’s use of the Elder spirits it is considered blasphemous to use dark magic. Even the study of it is shunned. While they cannot stop people outside church nations, any practice of the art within church nations is punishable by death. Their symbol is a cross with a sun behind it. They preach about being good Samaritans and maintaining peace within the world.

Other Religions

Currently no other godly beings have made themselves know. So the Church of the Goddess is the only religion known.

Chapter 1: The escapees make their way to a safe area. However, they are greeted by guardsmen on patrol. Luckily for them, said guards want nothing more to do with protecting the Temple and want to escape as well. (2-3 Players)

After this who knows? Well I do, but that’s for a later time. Sign-ups will be open for about a week. BEFORE POSTING YOUR SHEET, PLEASE PM IT ME. ONCE APPROVED YOU MAY THEN POST IT

Players will make their characters as Level 1 Trainee Classes. At Trainee Class Level 5 players will automatically promote to first class on the next level up. The Cloaked Rouge however will start almost promoted and will gain a level for every two of the party until they catch up.

I've been trying to decide if I wanted to say something since you're proud of your mug but there are a few pretty big issues with it. The first and biggest issue is that your contrast between the different shades of a thing (like the hair and the cloak) are way off and so you don't get the shading effect that you need, which leads things to look flat and unshaded. The hair especially is pretty bad because the first two shades are super light and then you go way to the opposite side of the scale and go super dark for the final shade. This ends up making it look like there's no shading at all and like you're just making a flat color. The cloak has the same problem to a lesser extent.

The other two issues you have are you have a lot of stray pixels that you didn't recolor properly so they still match the original colors not the recolored ones and you also lost some of the outline on her right shoulder.

A similar colored version to show the difference in how properly contrasting colors can improve how a mug looks:

The problem with that argument is if I don't give them feedback, they won't improve. I was polite, I didn't say the mug was terrible or that it sucked or anything like that. I pointed out the issues that the mug had and offered an example of how to improve it. So no, I couldn't stand to be less critical since my criticism was all constructive criticism aiming to help them improve on their next mug.
