Given the field, fighting or ground type moves will be the way to go. I actually caught one excadrill in the desert just to sweep half her team with maxed stats lol (I'll link the video in a spoiler, in case you want to resort to fighting fire with fire haha). Another good advice would be to exploit the seeds- since Tania uses a lot of physical attacks, the King Shield summoned by the seed will protect you and decrease her mons' attack. Also, unrelated but lovely profile pic you have there!

Thanks 😄 i really like Florges.

Some of the desert mons can be really useful here

Skarmory and Excadrill can give her lots of trouble (i forgot to mention Steelix)

You can use a force switch move like roar on a seeded arcanine, so you can nullify her buffs. Seeds only activate once, if she sends her Aegislash as 5th or 4th mon, you can do that again with it, even without seeds, just to get the buffs to wear off. Roar is TM learned i guess

Skarmory sounds like a good option vs her ngl, what would i replace tho?

If you are going for a skarmory, it should replace Arcanine i guess. Whirlwind vs Roar, intimidate vs high def. Both resist steel and all.

Or even leafeon, Bite does not seem to be relyable vs tania tbh, and arcanine+skarmory looks deadly

Bench Primarina for this one, replace Kricketune. You should have access to Meowstic by this point, who is a very good option for this fight, both Female and Male version. If you're willing to train up a mon, you can get Pinecos from the Headbuttable in Reborn City trees for a Forretress, who invalidates a lot of Aya's team, knows spikes(which is boosted), and has attacks independent of it's attack power. (Heavy Slam/Gyro Ball). I can't really stress how good Steel types are against Aya, as she only has a handful of answers to them. If the egg you got from the Slums was Bronzor all the better. If you can find an answer for Salazzle and Drapion, Forretress can run amok.

If you don't wanna go out and find more pokemon, Training up Baltoy could be beneficial as Claydol can learn good attacks for Aya (Extrasensory and Earth Power). Gothitelle is also a good choice, X items are always a viable option if you have a mildly tanky pokemon like her, especially with access to screens. It is particularly easy to buff the bejeebus out of something like Forretress, Gothitelle, or Grumpig so they can tank hits and just go to town on her, as her starting two aren't to big of a threat. There is a Lunatone or Solrock in the Grand Staircase if you're willing to explore. You can grab a Meditite from Apohyphll Academy from a girl on the roof and Medicham can take a couple of hits and dish out Psychic and Fighting (to deal with Drapion). Iirc there are Alolan Diglets in Pyrous mountain who have almost perfect typing to fight Aya with. Bringing your own Nidoqueen can work depending on the moves it knows, and if you have a means of evolving Porygon, that's another psychic attacker. Trubbish/Garbodor can also act as an effective wall and set up.

By the time I read it, i've already managed to beat her. I went the training Baltoy and evolve it do Claydol route 🙂

@OkkunShelly gives a lot of people trouble, so don't worry about her being "early" in the game or anything.

the usual tactic is to use Fake Out on her Illumise to keep it from setting Rain and then use Flame Burst or Fire Pledge to set the Field on fire. the Burning Field should allow Fire types and anything with Nature Power to wreak havoc on all her Pokémon except Araquanid.

Araquanid has super high Special Defense, so use physical attacks against it. Luxray, Dartrix and Graveler should work here; use a Common Candy on Luxray if you don't want to deal with disobedience. Graveler can also take care of Yanmega by surviving a Giga Drain with Sturdy and then one-shotting it with Smack Down.

Alternatively you could use Water types to use her Rain Dance against her, but you'd probably need something with Swift Swim to counter Shelly's own Swift Swim Anorith.

Okay, so I'll try to catch a pokemon that can learn Fake Out and see what happens after. Thank you for the reply. 🙂

Came back to this game after about 2 years of not playing, been having decent luck with the gyms so far but I've hit a hard stop at Charlotte as I'm sure most people have at this point. Any tips and recommendations on my team are appreciated.

Meowstic (M) Lvl 60

Prankster

-Psychock

-Fake Out

-Sucker Punch

Flygon Lvl 68

-Mach Punch

-Brick break

-Close Combat

Starmie Lvl 65

Natural Cure

-Brine

-Hydro pump

-Confuse Ray

- Psychic

Mons in PC that can be used: Hawlucha (Lvl 65), Sylveon (Lvl 69), Drapion (Lvl 68), Ampharos (Lvl 70), Reuiniclus with Trick Room (Lvl 68), Leavanny (LVl 60)

All the rest are lower than Lvl 55 but I have all the 7th street mons, most event mons, etc.

So Im starting the battle with the Meowstic and Flygon combo, able to use fake out on one and then can take out both of her first two pkmn with an EQ. After that though, its like chaos. volcorona and rotom end up making short work of my team way before Ninetales can even get in. Again any help and/or tips are appreciated. Wish i still had the team I beat her with 2 years ago.

@Lord Tobirama Go to the move relearner and teach Rock Slide to your Flygon. Ideally you'll want a second fast Pokémon that can use Rock Slide or Mirror Move; if you don't have that just use something that can take out Volcarona. Rotom likes to nerf itself with Overheat, so it's probably the safest of her 'mons to ignore.

Alternatively a Pokémon with Wide Guard can probably take you through Typhlosion, Darmanitan and Volcarona without taking damage if you send in the right Types.

Alternatively alternatively if your Ampharos has Electric Terrain you can try using that to lower Charlotte's Fire power.

@Kalaylay  His hawlucha is pretty fast but it's not that bulky beside you have gale wings Talonfalme that should be able to one shot it with the acrobatics+boost of Big top arena you fight him in(I have it on my playthrough too and it did for some reason). If you have problem may be you can train up your starly, it can hit pretty hard and can survive one or two hit. Another thing you can try is to catch Noctowl on Route 2. It's pretty bulky good at taking hit and it has access to movepool that counter Samson team pretty hard. Also I suggest you bench Yanmega for this fight because even though it fast and hit hard but if opponent survive you'll down 1 pokemon instantly.

Now I am not entirely sure with what mons Aya opens (Nidorina, Tentacool?) but for that would be pretty easy to get Ampharos and Meowstic, your friend has a solid team for beating Aya, so its really strange he has problems with it. Anyway, let Ampharos, depending what ATK stat is bigger, then try to find out (I forgot) which of DEF/SPDEF stat of Nidorina is weaker, Meowstic has both Psychic and Psyshock so it should be okay. After that, try to just focus more dangerous pokemons she throws out with both of yours. It should be easy as half of his team is PSY, keep in mind she has that Drapion which will hurt, though Medicham should easily take care of him, or if you were somehow able to preserve Ampharos, nuke him with few Discharges. Soft Reset is always your friend, and pressing X makes dialogues almost non existent. Either way, if this wont work, mixing stuff up as you can works, keep lot of antidotes if you want to keep your mons alive for longer, always sacrifice your weaker pokemon for healing your stronger ones, that's also a good strat, though, heal and cure Medicham while it stacks Calm Mind, then try spamming some special move from your TM choice or the HP ice. I am not a specialist, but hope I helped at least a bit.

From what I'm assuming, the leads for Aya being Nidoqueen/Toxapex

oh! Yes, forgot about that one, haha, now then that is mighty good. Just buy tons of antidotes and heals, start with meowstick and medicham, let medicham boost whilst Meow tries to defeat Nido, Toxapex will just spam Toxic Spikes, which are easy to heal and cure. Once Medi has like three-four stacks, destroy her team with some cool SPA move, not sure if you have some right TM for it, tho.

@TotallyNotLuck There's a rooftop garden in the Onyx Ward that has wild Spearow. It learns Aerial Ace early and evolves on Level 20 - Fearow should do a solid number on most of Florinia's team.

If you have an Ability Capsule you could also change your Litleo's ability to Moxie and try for a Sweep, I think Cradily is her only Pokémon that's not weak to Fire
