  1. No longer am I in summer break, but I'll still try to update my first ever Pokemon story from time to time <- edit (02/17/19): das a lie fam It'll be loosely based on the events and characters of Black and White (later maybe Black and White 2). The story will be updated on a random schedule, whether or not I have readers - so no default risk whatsoever haha <- edit(02/17/19): dis true fam but beware of hiatuses lul Also, to keep the the threads clean, I'll post the chapters on this thread only. Chapter links (saving you the need to scroll haha): Comments, criticism and questions are always welcome, but I would appreciate it if you could PM them to me instead of posting, so that I can keep the thread clear Without further a due, let's head on to chapter 1!
  2. [Potential Spoilers Ahead] So I decided to make a Fanworks Thread after we got our first official piece of fanart today! If you feel strongly about the game and would like to post anything here, feel free to do so! It will be greatly appreciated by us. I'll also be posting art that we've commissioned for the game as well.
  3. Hey everyone! It's been a while since I posted...pretty much anything on this site. With the upcoming last(?) version of Pokemon Reborn coming up, I decided to write a story on FanFiction about it. Pretty much a "What if a younger version of my persona was in the world of Pokemon Reborn" story. If you are interested, give it a read. As I am a relatively new story writer (majority of my previous experience was when I was in college in English Comp/Lit classes), I would like to see what people think of it. Criticism is accepted...just dont break my heart lol XD https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13408311/1/Pokemon-Project-Reborn
  4. I was looking around on Fanfiction until I read a Pokemon Reborn Fanfiction with Ash in it. I read the first chapter since there's only one but not too bad so far. Here's the link if anyone wants to read it. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13359603/1/The-Rebellion-of-Reborn
  5. Hello, after much rewriting that has been done I've finally finished the first part of what I wanted to accomplish. I'm not promising any more of these sort of things, just something I like to write for a re-telling of what goes down in the games. I quite like how the characters in Rejuvenation, to be honest. And I especially like the dynamic of Melia and the MC, and that's what makes me ship them a lot LOL. The MC I have here is named Alice. But The Interceptor is known to take many appearances anyway. Anyway, this takes place after Blacksteeple. It's less of a romance fic? Dunno, I just really wanted to write the tragedy the MC had to face. Also, feedback is more than welcomed, I'm not proud of this piece of work in particular so if you have any suggestions or feedback, don't hesitate to post here or PMs. Off-site link.
  6. Well, I've always had the idea of developing my MC, and, well, this is what came out of it. It's a One-shot for now, but I might update it if I feel I have something else to say about it. Also, you can read it in AO3 here, and if you're spanish or can read spanish, the original version that was translated is also here. Thanks for reading!
  7. Chapter 3: Thief I stood outside my parents’ home, hood up and hands in my pockets, looking as inconspicuous as possible. I walked around to the back of the house, not wanting to make them aware of my presence. If they knew I was here, they would want me to stay. Looking around to make sure nobody was watching, I quickly and quietly scaled the side of the house, avoiding the windows. My old bedroom was on the second floor, and the porch beneath it had a roof extending out. Using this as a landing of sorts, I slid the window open, climbing inside and crossing the room. Feeling like a thief in my own house, I avoided the creaking spot on the floor, pulling out my pocket knife. The glass case with my weapon inside had a simple, one tumbler lock. I stuck the tip of the knife into the lock, and with one quick, up and down wiggle, the lock turned. I opened the case, pulling out the sword, and replaced it with a short note to my parents: Mom-Dad-Serra and Eric Sorry I couldn't stay. I'm sorry I left for six years. I'm going to make things right, I promise. Going to try and get my team back. I won’t be going alone. I hope you're doing better than I am. I'll be back as soon as I can. Please understand. ~Seth I left the case open, then, making sure to step good and hard on that creaky spot. I jumped out the window, making a second short jump off the porch roof in time to hear my door burst open. I sprinted for the forest, stopping at the edge. I watched my window, half hoping one of them would look, half begging them not to. My father stood there, watching me. As we locked eyes, he nodded once. Go. I nodded back, my face wet. I wasn't sure if it was rain or tears. I turned, sprinting through the thick woodland. I had to get far away, and fast. I shouldn't have gone there--Team Prometheus was almost certainly watching my house. I headed for Oldale town, hoping that next time I was here, it wouldn't be simply to grab my blade. Cutting through the woods, I saw lots of small Pokemon, from Zigzagoon and Poochyena to Oddish and Wurmple. Taillow flitted between the trees, singing their songs and bickering. It all brought back memories, from when I had first set out as a trainer. I had just left town, a new Pokedex in hand and trainers ahead of me. Elesa was more than ready to battle, and I was looking forward to testing my mettle against other trainers. Fortunately, everyone here was probably too low-leveled to take her down, even with a full team of six. ...Right? As I turned the corner, I spotted a familiar brown pilot jacket with the black and ‘burnt orange’ baseball cap. I flinched inwardly, half hoping he wouldn’t see me. He was sitting down with his back to a tree, his new Quilava curled up next to him. Cracking one eye open as I came closer, he stood to greet me. “Hey Seth! I didn’t know you were coming out today; I would have joined you.” he said, hands in the pockets. Under his jacket was an orange button-up shirt, and he wore black jeans and a pair of shoes matching his hat. “Hey, Eric. Let me guess: you want to battle.” I said, greeting my older brother. “Heck yeah I want a battle! You’re my little brother, and I want you to beat me. I’ll even let you pick who you fight.” he said energetically. I sighed, my former enthusiasm gone with the wind. Elesa’s, however, only mounted higher, and her eyes were already glowing blue from her Psychic energy. “Are you sure about this? You’re level 36, his team’s gotta be level 75 or higher.” I said to her, getting a firm nod in reply. I looked at the Quilava, who was now sitting next to Eric’s leg, looking back at me curiously. Too young; it wouldn’t be a challenge for Elesa, and I didn’t want to wimp out in front of my brother. “Show me your team then. I want an even fight.” Eric smiled, pulling out his pokedex and showing me his team. Flygon, Aggron, Manectric, Quilava, Mightyena, and Swampert. Almost all of them high-leveled Pokemon, except for… “Mightyena. He’s only level 45, it’s close enough.” I said, figuring I could probably balance it out with his neutral attacks and Elesa’s Fairy moves. “Alright, let’s do this Mortdecai.” Eric said, sending out the large black and grey hound. Elesa hovered slightly, her eyes glowing. The Mightyena growled, its hackles raised. Each stared the other down, waiting for their trainer’s commands. “Elesa, be careful. His attacks may be neutral but he’s still a level 45. You’ll definitely feel it if he catches you.” I said. She nodded, and I moved back, giving them room to fight. Eric looked me in the eye, saying “I won’t take it easy on you just because you’re my little bro. Got it?” I surprised him with a grin. “We wouldn’t have it any other way.” He smiled at that. “Good answer! Mortdecai, use Snarl! Keep lowering her stats!” “Surprise him with Secret Power! Try and paralyze him!” she dove forward, drawing power from the forest around her. I was fairly sure the move would get a chance to poison, but it wasn’t what I was betting on. If he was paralyzed, she could use Double team to dodge all his attacks. Wait, didn’t he say keep lowering her stats? But the battle just started--he couldn’t have lowered them yet, right? I thought. In a direct contradiction, Elesa’s Secret Power hit Mortdecai directly in the forehead… doing almost nothing. Instead, she was hit with Snarl at point blank range, pushing her back and leaving her open to a painful looking Headbutt, sending her flying back. Crap! What happened--it should have forced his head down, making the attack miss… ‘Keep lowering her stats!’ “That’s not very fair of you, big bro. Having him discretely use Growl constantly from the second he was out of the Pokeball, and stalling for time with idle chat.” I said calmly, watching Elesa. “Start using double team! Don’t attack yet--just do it!” I shouted, feeling something itching at the back of my mind. “Seth, the battle starts from the moment the pokemon are released. You’re not gonna see this trap from many trainers, but you shouldn’t be afraid to fight a little dirty--it could give you all the advantage you need.” Eric said, not bothering to tell his Mightyena what to do. Instead, it attacked without prompt, chasing Elesa and destroying her after images. I swore under my breath, remembering the second effect of Snarl. It lowers the special attack of the receiver--he was constantly making her weaker. “Disarming voice, now! Hit him with everything you’ve got!” I shouted, focusing on Elesa. She had taken a lot of hits, and should have fainted by now. She was also moving slower, showing how tired she was. If I didn’t finish this soon, she could get seriously hurt. Don’t you mean we? Elesa said to me. You’re forgetting who’s doing all the fighting. Sure, you lose too, but I’m the one who has to take the pain. And then there’s your brother; He’s not ignoring his pokemon, he just trusts him. Unlike the two of us right now, they are a team. I flinched, her words stinging a little. What do you suggest? I said. We’ve been avoiding my Psychic powers since he’s a dark type. But do you remember the Flygon we met with Earth Power? We can replicate that here. I thought it over in my head. Do it. We might still lose this, but at least we’ll leave a lasting impression. I said to her. She immediately used her psychic abilities to pull herself away from the battle, then switched to ripping up sizable chunks of the ground and either building a wall or hurling them at Mortdecai. She hid behind the earthen barrier, using the ground beneath Mortdecai to hurl the Mightyena into the air, breaking it into smaller pieces and battering him with it. Clever as this plan may have been, though, her strength was fading. When Elesa was well rested, her eyes would glow blue when she used her powers. However, the more power she used, the less her eyes glowed; it was an effective gauge for how much longer she’d last in a fight. At the moment, her eyes had a minimal glow, and her attacks were very weak. I looked at the two combatants, taking advantage of the brief lull in the fight. Elesa had caused a lot of damage to the black hound, but considering their current states, it looked like a single blow would finish off either of them. You’re close, Elesa. One more good hit. I said to her. I saw Elesa grin at me, a green orb forming above her palm. He won’t expect this, will he? she said. Realizing her plan, I smiled back. Eric, wasting no more time, shouted “Mortdecai! Rush her with Headbutt!” As her opponent rounded the wall to run at her, Elesa launched her Energy Ball, striking the ground beneath Mortdecai. However, she misjudged where he would be, and the resulting mini-explosion only pushed him towards her, and she didn’t have time to make a second attack. They collided, the Mightyena’s Headbutt striking Elesa in the gut. I froze, watching her crumple to the ground, wheezing; Eric had won the fight. In a way, I wasn’t surprised, just frustrated and worried about Elesa. I helped her up, turning to my brother. He slowly clapped his hands, whistling lowly. “That was incredible; you not only nearly beat the level and type disadvantage, but you did it with style too! Substituting Earth Power with her natural telekinesis… I haven’t had a fight like that in a good while. Even if you did lose, that’s a fight to be proud of!” I smiled at Elesa, letting her lean on me for support. “Well, we did have a good teacher. Dad was letting me watch fights in his gym, and we had a few 1v1 matches. After I started playing to her strengths, things got a lot easier for us.” Eric nodded, saying “Yeah, Dad taught me some stuff too. I owe him a lot--in fact, I was meaning to visit him today but he wasn’t at the gym. On the other hand… it’s best we get Elesa to a Pokemon Center ASAP. I’ll get you to Oldale town, so you don’t have to battle the other trainers. Besides, Quilava here could use the experience.” Pulling her Pokeball out of my pocket, I said “I’d appreciate it. Do you want to walk or sleep in the ball, Elesa?” Wordlessly, she pressed the Recall button, getting sucked inside the plastic sphere. Putting the Pokeball safely in the inner pocket of my vest, we jogged the short distance to Oldale town. *** I sighed, the memories bittersweet. It was one of the few truly memorable moments I had with my older brother, since we were both always on the move. I missed my family, and right now, my brother seemed like the only one who could truly help me. But what about Cory and Mira? Those two seem like capable trainers. I’m sure they’d be able to help me get my team back. Besides, they know what they’re getting into. It’s just as much their choice as it is mine. I snapped myself out of my mini-trance, hearing something whimper. It was coming from a bush to my left. Cautious, I knelt down, slowly lifting the branches. Seeing what was beneath them, I tilted my head back, chuckling darkly at Fate's sense of humor. It has a peculiar way of dredging up memories made sore from loneliness. A young Cyndaquil with black and cream fur was curled up under the bush, hiding from the rain. I opened my jacket, reaching out to pick him up. Opening his eyes, he let out a startled squeak, puffing bright blue sparks, but not really able to make flames in the rain. I picked him up regardless, pulling him into the dry and safe confines of my jacket. Feeling him shake from cold and fear, I quietly comforted him, making small shushing sounds until he fell back to sleep. Smiling, I tilted my head back again, seeing the rain begin to dissipate. I began to wonder: was fate really laughing at me, or was it trying to tell me something? *** I am actually pretty happy with how this chapter turned out! It took me a long time to write four pages (almost) but in the end I feel like it was worth it. As before, please let me know if you spotted anything I need to fix, and I'll edit the post, and later the original document. I am open to all suggestions and criticisms!

  9. Chapter One: Welcome to Reborn Seth McFarlane. 19. Youngest reigning Champion of three Leagues, brother and son to powerful gym leaders, and born in Johto, before his family moved to Hoenn. Now hiding in Reborn, contemplating his present situation in the third person. Does he move on from this lonely alleyway, in an attempt to find food and shelter that simply isn’t there, or does he stay, and catch hypothermia? ...The world may never know. I thought, bored and cold. But more than anything else, I was excruciatingly alone, as a coward should be. It had been six years since I had last held a Pokeball. Six years since I had experienced the adrenaline rush of a League Battle. Six years since I’d abandoned my family and friends to Team Prometheus. And it had been a full eight years since I had found my first teammate. Some legendary trainer I am. I can’t even find the cash to buy a meal… Although, that would probably be easy if I could find the Pokemon to battle. I sighed, deciding to move on from the Peridot Ward. Maybe I’d try the Coral Ward today. A sharp spike of pain lanced through my head, causing me to gasp in surprise. I put my hands to my temples, but the pain softened, feeling more like… a psychic. Or maybe Aura powers. But I hadn’t seen any evidence of Lucario’s in this region, and the only Gardevoir I had ever seen was a… news reporter… maybe. Wait, why did I think Gardevoir? I thought. I had originally thought psychic, but... Either way, nothing should have been probing my head like that unless it wanted something from me. This firmed my resolve to vacate the area, and I started walking faster. Perhaps it was my imagination. On my way out of the alley, I locked eyes with another homeless man, by accident. He ignored me, and I him, but as I passed him, I could have sworn I saw a blue gleam in his eyes... *** Rattle. Rattle-Clack! “Luu?” I cracked my eyes open, seeing a hazy blue and black face peering down at me. Raiden -- my Lucario -- poked me a few times before literally thumping me in the chest. Rubbing the new sore spot with a scowl, I glared at him as I got up. Cracking my neck, I looked out the window, seeing a vast desert and the slowly growing walls of a city. Reborn. Once a beautiful region, now a polluted wasteland, barely fit for habitation. Still, the League challenge here was worth taking a look at in my opinion. Well. Maybe not just mine. My cousin, Mira, walked in, saying “We’re getting close, Cory. Best make sure nothing fell out.” I nodded, looking at my reflection in the window for a moment. Brown hair, just a little too long, bright and teal eyes, one bearing a thin vertical scar. Mira, despite being a close cousin, looked nothing like me: Blue eyes, long vivid red hair that had shades of pink streaking the bangs, and smoother, slightly paler skin. Another difference was our teams--we both had two Pokemon with us, figuring that’s all we’d need for this particular vacation. I had my faithful Lucario, and my Vaporeon, Rika. Mira had a Zoroark and an Umbreon. She really, really likes Dark Types. Personally, I preferred speed and strength to a particular type. I snapped out of it, checking my bags. Pokenav, ‘Dex, and Pokeballs all there. A spare set of clothes, a few books, and some snacks. Pretty basic, but good enough to last me a while, at least until we got properly situated here. As we entered the tunnel, I slung my pack over my shoulder and put my headphones around my neck. Mira let out her Zoroark, Loki, who nodded in greeting to Raiden. When the train stopped, we waited for the train to empty a little before we got off. Leaving the station, I pulled a small, highly detailed drawing out of my pocket. It showed a face and a name, the person we were looking for: Seth Macfarlane. I handed it to Mira, and we walked towards the first alley we saw. Rule number one when looking for someone in an unfamiliar city: Follow the rats. Put simply, the penniless and less honest people in any city will undoubtedly know more than the police patrolling the area. You find a few homeless people, offer them money, food or both, and you can easily find anyone who might be trying to hide. If you paired that with Aura Sight, your odds of finding them were even better. I nodded to Raiden, and his eyes began glowing. He started scanning alleys and buildings, seeing everything in shades of blue and red. I always wondered how that would look… Mira interrupted my thought process, grabbing my sleeve. I looked at the photo, seeing it glow faintly blue and pink. As psychic energy overtook the image, the graphite and ink started to shift slightly, subtly changing details to what I had to guess was a more current visage. His hair grew longer, down to his shoulders, bags formed under his eyes, and his face grew smudged. That was one skilled Gardevoir. I would have to ask Seth about her later on, if we ever found him. Memorizing the newer face, I kept looking for someone to talk to. Everyone I saw in the immediate vicinity was dressed just a bit too well, so we moved on, heading to the alleys. Raiden pointed, speeding up. We matched his pace, surprised at how soon we were getting results. *** I stepped onto the street to see two trainers, a Lucario, and a Zoroark running at me. Probably not good. I leaned inconspicuously against the corner of the building, praying they’d pass. Then I noticed the Lucario’s eyes were glowing bright blue, and I realized it was using Aura Sight. I spun and ran, deciding to see just how badly they wanted me. Dodging around people, I left the alley to use the street. I was close to Jasper Ward, and if I just followed the train tracks a little farther… Jasper had a forest I could easily lose them in. Aura Sight would confuse me with the trees and wild Pokemon, and I’d be long gone. I reached the divider between wards, praying my plan would work. Going under the arch, I realized something… just as my pursuer voiced it. “Raiden, use Extremespeed and get him!” An instant after that, the Lucario skidded to a stop in front of me, sliding into a defensive battle stance. I hesitated, observing my situation. I studied the Lucario’s stance, noting weak points and considering the battle in my head. If done right, I could beat the Aura Pokemon in three hits, at least subduing him long enough to give me a chance to escape again. I had a mediocre understanding of martial arts, but it was enough to teach me what NOT to do in a fight. Seeing the trainers quickly approaching, I lashed out at Lucario, kicking him on the inside of the knee and breaking his stance, but not his leg. I used the recoil bounce from the attack to push my leg into an upward sweeping kick to the side of his head. He tried protecting himself from further blows by putting his spiked forarms up in front of his face, but I was already running, taking advantage of the trainers delay, as they checked the Lucario for injuries. However, they didn’t bother checking, or at least, the Aura Pokemon didn’t let them, because I saw him use Extremespeed again, putting more pressure on his viciously bruised leg. It collapsed as he ran, causing him to tumble and skid on his side. I winced inwardly, but kept sprinting, almost to the forest. I dipped into the treeline, seeing various bugs and plants surrounding me, giving me cover from eyes and aura sight alike. Seeing a tall tree with lots of good, thick branches all the way to the ground, I quickly ran to the other side of it and climbed, getting as high up and as well camouflaged as I could. The male appeared to have recalled his Lucario. They combed the woods, looking everywhere… but not up. When they passed, I would silently climb back down and head for the Byxbysion wasteland, where a few friends of mine lived. I heard them speaking below and listened closely. “We must have lost him. Why was he running in the first place?” “He must have thought we were from team Prometheus. It makes sense; He’d have to be incredibly suspicious to stay uncaptured for so long. I also want to learn where he learned to fight like that-he took down Raiden in two hits, and I’ve seen him take Fighting type moves like they were nothing.” A pause, then “Well, either way, Jade isn’t responding. They must have put her back in the Pokeball. And this picture doesn’t help much when we can’t see him.” Jade. They knew my Gardevoirs name? How was that possible? From the way they spoke and acted, they definitely weren’t Prometheans. I decided to investigate, rapidly and silently descending the tree. *** “Do you see anything? I said to Mira. She shook her head, and I kept looking. Hearing a quite scuffing noise behind me, I turned to see Seth Mcfarlane standing there, apparently having just climbed out of a tree. He was tensed, ready to run, but he said “You know Jade. How?” I gripped Rikas pokeball tightly, but didn’t press the button; instead, I said “She contacted us and told us to find you. We’re not with Team Prometheus, I swear.” This didn’t reassure him as I’d hoped. He clenched his fists, saying “Prove it. If I don’t see something very convincing I’m running, and you can’t stop me.” I nodded, having already been told what to say. “You don’t like to call her Jade, she said. You traded for her, but couldn’t change the official name, so you refer to her as Elisa.” I saw a strange expression flash on his face. It looked… pained, tired, and happy all at once. I waited, not knowing what else to say, but simply watched as he slowly relaxed and he said “She’d only tell somebody that if there was an emergency. What’s going on, did she tell you?” Nodding slowly, i said “Your team… Prometheus has put them all in Dark Balls. They’re resisting, but they can’t keep fighting forever. Eventually… they’re Shadow Pokemon, and Jade-Elisa, I mean, is already feeling the long-term affects. She seems to think you have a cure for them. I just came here to get you.” His face paled slightly, and he said “You got here by train, right?” I nodded again, flashing my station pass. He muttered to himself for a moment, then spoke up. “I’m going to see a friend, then I need you to take me back to Hoenn with you. Think you can stand stalking me a while longer?” I frowned, saying “Whatever is at your friend's house, I don’t think it’s as important as getting back as soon as possible.” “You’re right, it’s not.” He said. “But he has a Pokemon he’s been trying to sell for a while now. If I explain to him, I can probably get him to let me borrow it, and I can fight. He’s in Coral Ward, lets go.” *** If you read the whole thing, then thanks! If you liked it but thought I could improve it, please tell me, as I'm open to all ideas. Also... I don't understand why the text is highlighted in white... (maybe it's just for me?) If someone could tell me how to fix that I will edit it so it's less of a headache to read...
  10. Please keep a couple things in mind: The fangame Pokemon: Light Platinum is referenced here with the Zhery and Lauren regions. Nothing else about the game will be spoiled in later chapters, but I wanted to give a nod to what I believed was a well-made fangame. Also, this is possibly the last chapter placed in Reborn. Last but not least, I made a slight alteration to the Gym system, where they have the main leader (say, Amaria) taking challenges during the day, and at night, a substitute GL takes his/her place if they want to get some sleep, but not close the gym to challengers. Now, enough with the monologue--let's get this story posted. Chapter Two: Second Start As we walked, I felt guilt and pain. Yet again, I felt shame at my own cowardice, and wished I could take it all back. I could remember all the Pokemon in my team clearly, like they were right in front of me. My first team member was Elisa, who I’d traded my starter Pokemon, a Marshtomp, for. She was from another region, with the extremely rare fairy type. Trading a level 27 for a level 6 probably wasn’t my wisest idea to date, but it was very worth the risk. At the time, I was a casual trainer, not challenging the league but just training with my friends. My brother Eric had long outstripped me, challenging the league and winning badges. He wanted to be as strong as our father, Norman, the Normal Type gym leader. He ended up being stronger, my dad proudly handing him his badge on TV. I had watched the battle, studying them both. My brother and I had very different styles, with him wanting his Pokemon to take the hit and walk it off, while I wanted them to dodge everything. My Marshtomp had a low speed stat, and we didn’t get along. When a trader from Unova had come along, I was fascinated with the strange Pokemon he brought. Marshtomp and I said our goodbyes and I swapped him out for Jade, later to be re-named Elisa. She and I did very well in battle, as she used Double Team to dodge attacks, Draining Kiss to restore her HP when she was hit, and Confusion to push enemies away while damaging and disorienting them. When she evolved to Kirlia, and later Gardevoir, we began talking telepathically, and soon we began considering the League Challenge. I remembered that day, replaying it in my head. We were in my bedroom, Elisa sitting on my bed, me stargazing through my window. “Maybe we should challenge the League like Eric said. It couldn’t hurt, right?” I said, leaning back in my chair. She tilted her head, and I could hear her thoughts. “Perhaps this league isn’t right for us, though. You’ve shown no interest in the Hoenn gym leaders, but I’ve seen you looking through books and websites covering the Zhery and Lauren Leagues, their regions, and the native Pokemon. If you get a Pokedex, then we could use that to travel there.” It was true, I had always been more interested in foreign regions. Plus, there was little fun in taking on a league my big brother had already beaten. “It’d be fun, I think. Sure, I’d be away from home, but I have a phone so I could call every once in a while. I’d be able to make new friends, put together a good team, and we could all get stronger.” I said. Elisa stood, walking to my side. Staring out the window with me, she said “I’ll go wherever you do. We’re a team, and a good one at that. We can talk to your mom in the morning; it’s already midnight. You need to get some sleep, alright?” I nodded, already feeling sleep tugging at my eyelids. The very next day, we were on a ferry to the Zhery region. After an hour of walking we arrived at my friend’s house. Cory had been silent the whole way, while Mira had repeatedly tried to strike up conversation. I’d given her short, unhelpful responses, knowing I should talk but not in the best mood. I knocked on the door, waiting patiently. After a moment, I knocked again, thinking maybe he was asleep. After all, he did work night shifts… I tested the doorknob, finding it unlocked. Slowly walking inside, I saw a Zangoose in the adjacent room, growling at me. “Easy, Havoc. It’s me. Where’s Ionas?” I said. A voice issued from down the hall, saying “Right here. You caught me getting dressed, sorry ‘bout that.” Ionas, a substitute Water Type gym leader, came out of his bedroom and greeted us. We sat down at his table, watching as he got prepped to go to the gym. “So, Seth, how have you been? I haven’t seen you in a while, I was starting to get worried you’d gotten mugged.” my friend said. I smiled slightly, saying “Why would I be mugged? I own nothing of value, and anybody who looks at me knows it.” I paused. “I… need to ask a favor of you.” I waited for his response, and as he nodded to me to continue, I said “You’ve been wanting to sell a Water type. I don’t have any money, but I was hoping to borrow it. I’m going back to Hoenn-you know what that means, right?” A soft smile lit his face. “It’s about time you went back for them. She’s a Milotic named Undai. She’s got a defensive moveset, but she’s right up your alley. Take her-no charge. Don’t argue,” he held his hand up, making me close my mouth. “You helped me catch half my team, and you held on to them when I had to leave the region. You trained them, taught me, and I saw a side of you that made me believe in you. This is my way of repaying you. I’d even come with you, but I need to clear that with Ame.” He pulled an Ultra Ball out of a drawer, tossing it to me. “Go get your friends back. If you need me, I’ll be there.” I nodded, smiling. I should have figured he’d do this. “Thanks, Ionas. Don’t tell me you’re actually going to drink that…” I said, watching him lift a mug of what he considered ‘coffee’ to his lips. Bracing himself, he downed the whole mug as fast as he could, grimacing severely at the bitter taste. He gagged, making us laugh. Wiping his mouth, Ionas said “Yeah, keep laughing. I hate it, but it’s all that keeps me awake at work. Get out of my house, you lazy street rat.” We all left, still laughing, heading for the train station. When it came to part ways, Ionas and I shook hands, and bid each other goodbye. *** We were on the train, on an intercontinental railroad. Spanning an enormous ocean, it was a marvel of human construction. Cory had a Vaporeon in his lap who was purring contentedly as he stroked her spine. Mira was reading a book, and I was just staring at the Ultra Ball. Memories floated over my vision, threatening to strip me of my good mood. I remembered one particular day with Elisa more prominently than the others, and it sparked an idea within my mind. I was sitting on a log, and she was across from me, staring into my eyes. I was trying to use telepathy, and failing miserably. She was gently coaching me, encouraging me to keep trying. She had opened a link between us, but it was one way-from my mind to hers. I was trying to peer inside her mind, and while she swore she wasn’t resisting, I couldn’t change the direction of the link. “Can you go over it again? I think I’m missing something.” I said, trying not to wince at the headache I was developing. She broadened the link, allowing her to speak in my mind. “Focus on the link. You can already see it-the pink/blue line connecting us. Now just focus on relaxing all the various parts of your mind. Once you’ve done that, feel the link. It’s narrow, only flowing one way, much like a small river. You need only make it wider, allow the energy to head both ways, side by side, forming a circuit. If you can do that, you’ve succeeded.” I nodded, glad she was so patient. My own frustration was nearly palpable in the air, and I felt stupid. I forced myself to relax, feeling the link return to its narrowed state. When I had calmed down, I felt around for the link, found it, and ignored everything else. I tapped my finger against the log, contemplating the intrusive psychic presence. Elisa was using it to monitor my emotions, but allowed me to keep my privacy. Perhaps I could use that. I began raising memories at random, putting them in front of the link. I could feel it trying to avoid them-they were blocking it from accessing my emotions. I forced one through the link, allowing my consciousness to follow it, making a blind spot for myself. Suddenly, I could feel Elisa's mind, her surprise and confusion, then a mild sense of satisfaction. I had essentially made a Trojan Horse... hiding within a seemingly innocent object to sneak past her defenses. I smiled, pulling back into my own head and letting her speak. “Nicely done, Seth. I didn’t expect you to get through so easily; most Psychic Type trainers take months to even push an emotion through.” My smile broadening, I said “I have a good teacher. What’s next?” She laughed, saying “You rest. I can feel your headache, and that’s only going to distract you. When you’re better, you can try different methods of widening the link, and when you’ve mastered that, you’ll have to break my defenses-and create your own. I’m also hungry. Let’s get some berries.” Back in the present, I decided to try speaking to the Milotic inside the Ultra Ball. I had little else to do for a good ten hour train ride, and though I had never succeeded in breaking her defenses, I could certainly alter existing links. Perhaps I could make one of my own… Relaxing as she taught me, I focused on the ball. With my mind, I poked at it, pushing past its shell into the murky interior. I could feel a mind, pulsing with life, calmly snoozing. With surprisingly little effort, I pushed inside it, just to the edges of her consciousness. Her mind woke, and I could sense her observing me curiously. I struggled to not only maintain the link, but widen it, and after a moment, I succeeded. In my mind, I saw the two of us, floating in a vast sea of black. I spoke first. “Can you hear me? I’m Seth. Are you Undai?” She nodded, saying “Yes. It... might be nice to meet you, Seth. How are you in my mind?” “My Gardevoir, Elisa, taught me a few things. This is the first time I’ve ever made a mental link though. Apparently I’m your new trainer. I hope you don’t mind…” I said awkwardly. Undai shook her head, chuckling. "That's the first time I've had a trainer ask me for permission." Satisfied, I said “I need your help, but we’d be facing a lot of tough opponents. We won’t be alone, but it’ll still be dangerous. I don’t want to put you through anything you don’t want to do. You don’t have to choose right now; we still have ten hours on this train.” Suddenly, another link formed. It was weak, filled with what could best be described as ‘mental static.’ The static passed, the link strengthened, and for an instant, I could see Elisa. Just as I reached out to grab her, the image vanished. The link disappeared. She had been forcibly cut off. Conflicted emotions flashed through me. I knew Undai could see me breaking down, but I didn't care. I was slowly going insane from all my inner torment. When I regained control of myself, she nodded slowly at nothing in particular, then said "I'll help you. No one should go through what you have. This... Team Prometheus your thoughts are so cluttered with will not succeed in breaking us." I stood, saying "Thanks, Undai. I owe you one. I'll close the link and let you sleep. Sorry you had to see all that..." She smiled. "Sometimes it's best to show others these things. Keeping them locked away inside will only serve to make it worse." *** (Cory's POV) I watched him, curious. It felt odd to see someone capable of beating three leagues reduced to so little. I felt truly sorry for him, trying to imagine how he felt. I could tell he cared about his team; leaving them behind like he did must torture him. I knew a fair amount about Team Prometheus. They relied on brute force rather than careful strategies. A common Pokemon in their teams was either Tyranitar or Golem. They also used Poison and Dark types, but their personal favorite was, in accordance with mythology, Fire Type. They generally had a single squad assigned to each city, with six people and a squad leader. In some larger cities, they had two. It would be hard to avoid detection. I had a few trustworthy friends, as did Mira, and we could hide with them if necessary. I remembered what Ionas had said. I saw a side of you that made me believe in you. Perhaps there was more to Seth than met the eye. Leaning back in my seat, I resumed stroking Rika. It was going to be a boring train ride, but once we arrived in Hoenn, I knew things were going to get far more fast paced. I smiled, pulling out an MP3 player and putting in the earbuds. One of my favorite songs began playing, and I slowly nodded my head to the beat. Yes, when we got back, it would be dangerous... but we'd be ready. *** (Mira's POV) I was worried. We were going up against team Prometheus, who had taken over Hoenn in three days. They were powerful, dangerous, and their leader was almost certainly unhinged. And yet... Cory smiled. It was the first time I'd seen a true smile from him in a year. Since the Prometheans had taken over, he had grown increasingly introverted and callous to his surroundings. It had pained me to see this from him, since he was like a brother to me, although we were only cousins. It was good to see him smile again. Seeing Seth, practically a living legend, had given him hope. Cory wanted to fight, to take Team Prometheus down a peg. He wanted to avenge all the lives ruined by them. He was a vigilante, always fighting for those who were too weak to fight for themselves. I plucked at my sleeve, remaining silent. If Cory decided to follow Seth, then I would too. I only hoped his happiness would last... Aaaand that's the end of Chapter 2! I hope you enjoyed it, and if you see things I should change, feel free to leave a comment below. I'm currently halfway through the third chapter, so you should see that sometime soon, but after that.... I don't know for certain. I have other books I'm writing, schoolwork to keep up with, and I'd like to get out of the house at some point. That being said, I want to see this fanfiction completed and completed well, so I will be putting significant time into this. Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day/noon/night. ~Decibel. IMPORTANT EDIT: I changed Gawain the Dragonair to Undai the Milotic. This is basically because it makes more sense for Ionas to have a water type on hand, and I didn't know what to do with Gawain once Seth gets his team back, and I have NEVER used Dragonair correctly. However, I do know how to use Milotic, and it is my preferred Pokemon, so I hope none of you mind.

  12. Hello! Welcome to the story. I don't have much to say other than all reviews are appreciated. Be weary of censored profanity. All the "Episodes" are split into two parts. Excluding this one, which only has one. Thanks for reading! “Episode 00: The Hooded Figure”
  13. So, hey guys. This story I was inspired to write through playing Reborn. It's an Ash-centric story that includes the 'Different Starter' Challenge and has Ash more or less beginning his journey in the Reborn Region, although I did play around a bit with the mechanics of the region and made it into a renamed Orre Region more or less. No offense to Ame intended, I just find it easier to write that way. Speaking of Ame, all the kudos here goes to her for her amazing work with Reborn. Seriously, that is one talented and creative girl. Story Summary: Meteor descends, Rocket ascends. Magma will blaze while Aqua submerges. Galactic controls, Plasma persuades and Flare destroys. A world where a few are never born leaves the wheel shattered and the string cut. The beginning of the end, chaos swallows the world. Tipped from the golden throne, god prays for salvation. "One by one the legends fall, and thus the world turns to Ash." A Master By Any Other Name - Chapter 1 "I'd hate to be out on a night like this." Ash Ketchum commented to himself from his seat on the couch within his house. He stared at the window, the view outside a complete blur thanks to the mass amount of rain water pelting the glass. The winds outside howled so fearsomely loud that he could have almost mistaken it for a massive enraged Pokemon, maybe a Dragonite or Tyranitar. Ash was a young boy of 6 years old, he had messy black hair that spiked towards the fringe and the nape of his neck and vibrant amber eyes. Standing up, Ash lifted the empty plate he'd just plucked clean of food. "Better wash this before mom gets back." The young boy said to himself as he began making his way towards the kitchen, "Don't want her scolding me for being a slob again." He continued, shuddering slightly in remembrance of the last time that incident had occurred. He'd finished eating and left food stained dinner plates laying the end table next to the couch, all the while running back outside to go on another 'adventure' with his best friend Gary Oak. He remembered the lesson well, because when his mother had caught up with him later that night when he returned home from playing with the Pokemon at the Oak Ranch he'd been grounded for two weeks and forced to do all of the house cleaning every single day of those two mind numbing weeks. For an active kid like him it was torture. He didn't know how his mother could stand doing it day in, day out. He'd have went stir crazy long ago. Entering the kitchen, Ash set the dirtied plate down inside the sink and turned the tap on, letting the water heat up and run over the plate. Looking to the side, he gave a sigh when he saw that the trash bin they kept in the kitchen was filled to the brim, meaning that the trash would have to be taken out to the garbage cans outside the house... in the torrential rain storm. Ash sighed once again in annoyance as he looked down at his attire. He was wearing a pair of sandals on his feet, a pair of blue shorts and a thin yellow t-shirt. Shrugging in a 'what are you gonna do?' manner, Ash walked over and tied the tops of the garbage bag together to keep the contents locked inside and gave a grunt as he lifted the rather heavy – for a 6 year old – bag up and began making his way outside. If he was a normal 6 year old kid, he could have ignored it and left for his mother to clean up when she returned from having dinner at the Oak Laboratory. But he wasn't a normal 6 year old kid, he was an aspiring Pokemon Trainer. Those who aspired to become Pokemon Trainers were expected to show a level of maturity, in that they had the ability to take care of themselves and their Pokemon. More and more Trainers nowadays had been getting rejected at the age of 10 because very few of them actually showed the maturity needed of a Pokemon Trainer. And so, when they were given their first Pokemon at the age of 10, instead of heading out on their journeys these rejected few were sent to one of the Pokemon Academies situated around each region. And until they could pass the needed tests, were not allowed to graduate and continue on in their chosen Pokemon Trainer profession. By the time he was 10 it was expected that only the extremely talented children would be allowed to start out on their journeys normally and all the others would be sent off to one of the academies. Ash had heard about it on the news a month ago, and was determined to prove his maturity and the level-headedness needed of a Pokemon Trainer. It was why his mother had finally conceded to leaving him home alone, even though he was only a 6 year old child. It was the first step on him proving his ability to take care of himself, and any Pokemon he would catch on his journey. … Now he just needed to learn how to cook. Yes, that was kind of a basic necessity for any Pokemon Trainer. He didn't even want to think of what a Pokemon journey would be like without the ability to cook form himself. Opening his front door, Ash sighed in annoyance as his face was blasted with a large amount of cold rain water and a rather powerful gust of wind that almost send the young boy stumbling backwards. "...Just... great." The child grumbled when he looked down and saw that the pathway outside of his home was flooded with a large puddle of water, enough that it would reach just around his ankles. Grumbling once again, Ash stepped out into the rainy night, his feet sinking up to his ankles in the cold puddle of water. Shivering, Ash braved on, ignoring the cold chill of the wind and quickly made his way down the path. Just outside his garden fence he came to a stop beside the six garbage cans. Pallet Town was so small it was near enough a village, so public services like Garbage disposal men were rare, only occurring once every two to three weeks, sometimes even monthly periods. So, generally, the average sized Pallet house had around five to six garbage cans so that trash didn't end up overflowing the streets. Pulling the lid off of one of the garbage cans, Ash hefted the bag of trash in his arms up and dumped it inside the garbage can, his arms shaking slightly from the effort as well as the cold from the harsh winds and rain. Sticking the lid back on the garbage can, Ash turned on his heel and was about to make his way back inside the house to dry himself off and sit in front of the warm fire to watch TV and await for his mothers return, when he was stopped in his tracks by a low keening whine. "Grooooowww..." It was a small, weak and pitiful noise but it put Ash on guard regardless. "The heck was that?" Ash hissed to himself quietly, balancing on the balls of his feet ready to make a mad dash back into the safes confines of his house if the noise threatened to be malicious in intent. Ignoring both the cold harsh rain soaking him to the bone, and the common sense blaring in his mind to 'run away'. Ash slowly stepped around he garbage cans and peered cautiously at the source of the noise. "Is that a Pokemon?" the young boy muttered to himself. Laying in a crumpled heap behind the garbage cans was a small canine like beast. Its reddish with cream at parts fur was soaked so thoroughly it looked black in places. Crouching down, Ash hesitantly reached out and patted the matted fur of what he assumed was a Pokemon. He jerked back when the Pokemon surged to it's feet upon the contact, growling pitifully at him and swaying as it leered at him dangerously. "Groooooowlithe!" It managed to grit out, as threateningly as it could. But it did not deter Ash in the least when his 6 year old mind managed to piece things together. 'It's a Growlithe!' He realized, 'But it's a lot smaller than the Growlithe I always see up at the Oak Ranch.' Steeling himself, Ash reached out and gently ran his hand along the side of the small Growlithe. It hissed at him, but he ignored it because in attempting to calm the Pokemon down he could practically feel its bony ribs sticking out from its skin. 'Why is it so thin?' Ash questioned himself, puzzled. Looking the Growlithe over from head to toe, the answer dawned on him, 'It's only a pup!' He managed to piece together when he finally compared its size with the many Growlithe packs led by the giant Arcanine at the Oak Ranch. Retracing slightly, Ash looked at the canine Pokemon thoughtfully as he continued to ignore the rain pelting against his small frame. From what he could remember from Professor Oak's lecture about Growlithe when he and Gary covered the topic of said Pokemon in their studies a few weeks back, Growlithe were sociable Pokemon tending to stick with their packs until they became Arcanine or were confident in their ability to live alone. 'There's just no way a Growlithe this young would have left its pack willingly, it must have been separated.' He concluded. That was when he realized something else. Growlithe were Fire Type Pokemon and they were currently situated outside in the middle of a torrential rain storm. The thought alone made the young aspiring trainer surge to his feet. "I've gotta get you outta this rain!" Ash exclaimed hurriedly to the Growlithe pup. His loud voice must have scared it though because it took a few weak paces backwards. Ash would not be deterred though. The young boy, sprang forward and before the Growlithe could even respond Ash had bent down and promptly scooped the young pup into his arms. "C'mon!" He said as he reached his full height again. Turning on his heel, the young boy practically sprinted up the flooded path and rushed back into his home, kicking the door shut behind him as he did so. Rushing into the living room, Ash set the Growlithe pup down gently in front of the warm fire, the orange flames flickering gently from the pressure of wind his rushing had sent its way. Looking at the pup, Ash grinned as he saw it warily watching him for any sign of violence. Turning on his heel again, Ash walked straight out of the living room and into the hall. Opening the storage cupboard that ran underneath the stairs to the upper floor of the house he reached up onto the shelves that held the bare towels and selected a dark blue. Taking the towel, Ash closed the cupboard door behind him before heading back into the living room and moving towards the Growlithe pup that was still taking in its new surroundings in a fascinated confusion. Chuckling at the dumbfounded look on Growlithe's face, Ash knelt down in front of it and gently cupped its face with the blue towel. "Grooow?" The small pup barked in confusion, tilting its head to the side curiously. Ignoring it, Ash continued to chuckle lightly as he began to gently rub the towel through Growlithe's fur. First gently drying of its face, then he moved onto its back and stomach and then finished off by gently drying off its legs. When he pulled back, Ash grimaced at the dirtied towel. It was damp, smelled of staleness and was covered in grime and muck that had covered Growlithe's red and cream coloured fur. Growlithe gave a start when he pulled away, shaking its small body to get rid of the puffiness in its fur. It sniffed curiously for a moment before giving a startled sneeze and then yipped at Ash. "Who's a good boy?" Ash cooed at it gently with a soft smile. He wasn't really sure if the Growlithe was a male or female Pokemon. Unlike a lot of species of Pokemon, Growlithe did not have any marks that differed between genders. It was more than likely a male Pokemon though, as the Growlithe family had a seventy-five percent chance in being born males. The only other things he could recall about the Growlithe line from his lectures with Professor Oak were that they were incredibly loyal, had diverse and powerful move pools and... "Groow!" Growlithe yipped once more, before halting in front of Ash and visibly wilting, giving another low whine. ….When they were young they tended to have to eat a lot, so the flames inside their young bodies could keep burning bright, empowering and and keeping them healthy. Ash snapped his fingers in realization, "Oh, you're hungry!" He exclaimed with a grin, before turning thoughtful a moment later, "Well, I suppose that makes sense since you've obviously been separated from your pack, and you're too young to have learned to hunt yet." The young black haired child mused thoughtfully. "Lithe!" The small pup barked, nodding its head vigorously. "Right!" Ash told it with a smile, getting to his feet. "I'll be back in a flash little buddy, just wait here and be patient!" He declared. Turning around, the young boy rushed through the door to his kitchen. His living-room and Kitchen being one of the conjoining kind. Entering the kitchen Ash swiftly moved over to the sink and opened the cupboard below it. His mother was a kind and gentle woman, and she tended to feed any stray Pokemon that seemed to need some help. As far as he knew, she used to be a Trainer but gave up after a while. She had released her only Pokemon, an Espeon, back into the wild just before he was born because it had found a mate. His mother was very happy when the female Espeon and its mate, a male Umbreon, decided to live in the forests at the Oak Ranch. She would go visit them every now and then, like she was doing tonight. He'd heard her fussing over the video phone to Professor Oak about them having a litter of Eevee Eggs. That was all he remembered though, he was too occupied watching the latest battles at the Indigo Plateau when the discussion was going on, so he had ignored the majority of it. Shaking his head, Ash rid himself of thoughts of his mother and grabbed the large bag of Pokemon food. It was designed to be edible for all types, because during the swarm seasons Pallet Town attracted quite the variety of different Pokemon. He'd seen all kinds of Pokemon depending on the climate. He'd seen Aron, Shinx, Murkorw, Houndour and even one rather rowdy Magmar leading a group of young Magby. The Pokemon food wasn't designed to be more in tune with one type and therefore better tasting to them, but instead was designed to be edible by all Pokemon, regardless of their types or personal preferences. Ash wondered if it tasted bland though. It couldn't taste like anything in particular if it was for everyone, because some Pokemon didn't, or even sometimes couldn't, enjoy the same tastes as others. Grabbing a large black bowl from beside where the bag of Pokemon food was positioned Ash set it down and opened the bag of food before he began pouring a sizeable amount into the bowl. The Growlithe pup, while thin and obviously very hungry, did not seem to be a starvation victim, because it still had quite a bit too much strength in it to be one. So he had no need to worry about over feeding it and making it sick. Pokemon, he'd learned recently, were all imbued with a special type of energy that protected them and healed them. So all he needed to do was fill the small pups stomach, allow it to rest and the energy that circulated its body would take care of the rest. Seeing as it had no injuries to speak of it would likely be its regular hyperactive self after a good sleep and a nap. 'It's scary.' Ash thought to himself, slightly dazed. 'Just a month ago before hearing that news report I knew nothing at all about Pokemon, I hardly even knew the type match-up basics, yet now here I am feeding a young stray Growlithe...' Ridding himself of his thoughts once again, Ash lifted the bowl and stood back up and made his way back through to the living room. Walking over to the fire, he smiled softly as he saw Growlithe sitting quietly, basking in the heat of the warm fire blazing right beside it. No doubt finding some kind of comfort in its natural element being so close. Flopping down in front of the Pokemon he saw the stray turn to stare at him curiously as he sat down. Ash grinned and placed the bowl down in front of the Pokemon, "Eat up and enjoy!" He declared grandiosely. He watched intently as the Growlithe pup stood up and curiously smelled at the bowl of brown bite-sized treats of Pokemon food before tentatively inching its head forward and eating one of the small bites from the top. It chewed quickly and then swallowed before following up with an excited bark once again before digging in, devouring the bowl of food with a vigour that reminded Ash of when he himself ate. Ash watched the small Fire Type Pokemon intently, he could swear the Growlithe was becoming healthier and healthier as time slowly passed by while it ate ravenously. The red of it's fur seemed to shimmer slightly with small embers and become a more vibrant red the more it filled its stomach. The living room was deadly silent except for the noises made by Growlithe as it ate. Ash was content to watch the Pokemon. For as long as he could remember Pokemon had fascinated him and he'd dreamed of one day becoming a Pokemon Trainer. He dreamed regularly of defeating other Trainers, gaining recognition, playing with his future Pokemon, and yet for some weird reason even when he dreamed about flying around on one of the Flying Types backs, their faces and most redeeming features on their bodies were blurred out as if someone had made a shading mistake on a water painting. It was as frustrating as it was exhilarating. He had a desperate urge to see what these Pokemon were, but an even larger need that tugged at his heart-strings each and every day to find the Pokemon that were destined to be his and capture them He was broken from his musings by the Growlithe pup barking happily and walking over to him. Standing on its hind legs, it placed its front paws on his chest and began to lick his face happily. Ash laughed, "H-hey, I see you're a happy pup now!" He said loudly, his voice rumbling with happy laughter. Reaching up, Ash began to scratch Growlithe behind the ear, "Who's a good boy!" The young amber eyed boy gushed. Growlithe tumbled slightly back to the floor, kicking one of its legs happily against the carpet as it whined in pleasure from the ear scratching, "Groooow..." The small pup allowed to leave its mouth, and Ash noted its eyes fluttering slightly and slowly closing Chuckling, Ash pulled back and stood up. Walking over to the couch he grabbed the black throw over hanging over the back of it before making his way back over to Growlithe and gently covering the lightly slumbering Pokemon with it. "There's a good boy, you rest up now." Ash cooed softly as he picked up the empty food bowl and headed back towards the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, Ash placed the bowl in the sink before running the tap of hot water and filling it to the brim and allowing it to soak. Before leaving the kitchen once again, Ash grabbed the Pokemon food he'd left out in his excitement over feeding Growlithe and returned it to its place in the cupboard below the sink and then he headed back through to the living room. Plopping down on the couch, he grabbed the TV remote and turned it off, allowing the screen of the TV to blink and fade black. Instead, he watched the slumbering Growlithe intently. The young Fire Type Pokemon was now estranged from its pack, and with nowhere else to go - because travelling packs of Arcanine and Growlithe never stayed in one place too long. Would it want to stay with him and maybe, just maybe, become his very own Pokemon? He knew his mother would never turn down allowing such a young and cute Pokemon to stay with them. That was just the kind of woman she was, she wouldn't be able to live with herself knowing she turned such a young defenceless pup away and forced it back into the dangerous wilds without anything to protect it. It would still be alone if they took it up to the Oak Ranch to live. Pokemon were not very accepting of Pokemon from different packs, even if they were of the same species, and the Growlithe line were no different. If anything they might even be more harsh. If they saw the stray as a pup he would be welcomed with the other young pups, probably, unless they just didn't like him for whatever reason, but if they saw him as an adult the pack leader might consider him a threat. Ash didn't want to consider the beating the giant Arcanine would need to visit upon the little Growlithe to teach him his place in the pack. The only species of Pokemon that he knew of in his limited education that would accept other Pokemon of their species regardless of what pack they belonged to was the Pikachu line. Surprising, considering how prone the species was to producing the independent lone wolf types, but they were still, at their core, rodents, so it made sense they would be more accepting so they could band together against bigger predators. The young raven haired boy was so deep in thought he didn't notice when seconds turned to minutes and minutes, which eventually turned to a full hour. So deep in thought was he, that he didn't even notice that his new house guest had awoken until the young Growlithe leaped up onto the couch beside him and gave a loud happy bark. "Grooowlithe!" The small pup barked out, nudging his shoulder with its nose. Ash blinked as he noticed the Pokemon before smiling. Impulsively, he reached over and scooped the small pup into his arms and deposited it on his lap and began to gently pat its furred head. "Did you have a good sleep Growlithe?" He inquired with a smile. "Lithe lithe, Growlithe!" Growlithe responded energetically, before leaping up slightly and licking his face happily. "I get it, I get it!" Ash laughed, managing to calm the small puppy Pokemon down somewhat. Although it continued to nuzzle his small hand with its nose. Weird though, a quick glance at the clock on the wall told him while he'd been thinking only twenty minutes had passed. Nowhere near enough time for a good rest. Eh, whatever. It was probably just a pokemon thing. "Hey, Growlithe?" Ash said softly after a moment of petting the small Fire Type. Growlithe stopped nuzzling his hand and turned its head to look at him curiously, "Grow?" It responded, puzzled. Tucking his arms under its front paws, Ash lifted the Pokemon up and held it eye level with himself, "How would you... like to stay here? W-with me?" Ash asked, his voice somewhat timid from a sudden bout of nervousness that enveloped his core. Growlithe titled its head and looked at him curiously for a moment before giving another happy bark, "Growlithe!" And with that happy bark out, it began to lick Ash's face vigorously causing Ash to laugh again. Ash laughed in relief, joy and a whole bucket full of other emotions he couldn't have placed at that moment if someone asked him to. All he knew was that in some unorthodox way he had gotten his first Pokemon. Growlithe, his new partner and a lifelong friendship that would only strengthen as both boy and Pokemon aged. ________________________ Ash's Pokemon - As Of Chapter 1 ________________________ I realize Ash is entirely too intelligent here, especially for a six year old. When I'm writing pokemon fanfiction though, I tend to make it that they mature faster and trainers are considered adults. So trainers can fight in wars, have sex, drink, own property and even get married if it suits them at any time. Granted. it's rare that trainer have sex or get married so early on since those that start at ten haven't even hit puberty yet. But there are some early bloomers out there. Anyway, so that was chapter 1. It won't be around until chapter 3 that Ash arrives in the Reborn Region.
  14. Have a brilliant story in your head but unable to express or tell it to anyone? Lack of skills to tell a story and you really want to train it? Fret not...because this post is dedicated to test everyone's mettle in their story-telling and capability...in ONLY 5 words! So here is where the fun started. "Just simply continue the story from where the last person left off and try to stay on the route." *P.S: please don't multi post the thread, that's the same as you creating your OWN story . Easy right? [Remember Twitch play Pokemon? This is similar like that but this one is like the novel version] *P.S: Please do not absolutely posted A B A B B or ANARCHY ANARCHY DEMOCRACY ANARCHY ANARCHY But wait...there's more! Just a few regulations here before you reeeealllllyyy get started! 1st off, please please please do not change someone else made-up character name (For example: someone captured a Pidgeot and called it Bird Jesus, do not simply change it to lord helix or Battery Jesus). Appreciate someone's creativity in telling or making up great names (basically you need to read the story from the beginning until so far to get close to someone's else imaginative thinking). 2nd thing, please limit the number of pokemon that you catch, we should appreciate the story more like in the Pokemon: Anime version (Ash Ketchum story? perhaps?) 3rd and *phew* finally, play fun and be respective of others. Let's make the greatest Pokemon story adventure ever! A story basically need some plot before we start off right? So here's the plot! We'll use up Vero or Alice from Pokemon Reborn [Credit to Ame for creating him and her] or First person who posted in this thread (except me obviously) will get to choose the character (name locked). *please mention the name* Here's where the plot began! When the player character was about to challenge and confront the reborn league champion, a sudden inter-dimensional quake occurred, throwing off the player character into some unknown region, never seen before in any Pokemon Region map. Supposedly, this region also contains vast number of different species of Pokemon and people who have yet known what exist outside this region. The inter-dimensional quake has thrown all of the player character's powerful Pokemon. With nothing left behind what fate awaits our player character? What kind of new adventure will our player character experience? What will be his first friend in this unknown region? The story begins here... [Pokemon: 5word] <--- it looks like Sword, but believe me...it isn't. Player character woke up on... then all you have to do is continue from where I just left off. Have fun guys!
  15. “The sky looks really blue” thinking of such obvious thing, I finally managed to drag my head away from the window, the soft noise of ongoing train on its rail still in my ear. It probably have been around two hour since I board this train from my home region “Ya new or sumthin’ kid?” the man that sit beside me said, looking at me while doing so “calm ya sel’ kid, d’is far from amazin’” now that I’ve look closely, this man seems to be around his twenty, with a tan skin, half-closed eyes and the huge pack that’s the form of his bag. “A Hiker” I think of the obvious answer of the way he dressed before I reply “Really? I never leave Johto before, so this is quite new for me” That answer seems to give the Hiker a good laugh “I see, I see” doing some nodding, he then raise his hand and give me quite a HARD. “Then ya didn’ choose a wron’ one kid! Reborn’s one of de best Region!” flinching a bit at the powerful hit of the Hiker, I tried my best to remain civil and nod at his statement “of course, this is one of the Region that have every Pokemon known, even rare Pokemon that is said to never appear together could be found on this land” The Hiker’s smile become even brighter “Ya right on dat one kid! In fac’, I hav’ sumthing ta show ya!” the big man then start to rummage his bag, which is really messy from the sound of colliding items “Look at dis!” the man then take out a piece of paper, which almost looks useless. Almost is the key word Wonder plaster itself on my face, as what I just see on the piece of paper this man have show me. I quickly snatch the paper to look at it. The paper is nothing but a picture, a picture that shown a small pink being, a small pink being that is known as the one which create what Pokemon is. A picture that shown a Pink Pokemon known as Mew, in a city that is filled with tree “I managed to get a quick snatch of that Pokemon” the man said, this time grinning wide “And which I don’t know where it is now, it is there” this time, he point toward the region ahead of us, the region that I will travel, the region known as Reborn This will be a long journey, and I know, deep inside my mind “I won’t regret this” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, hey, nice to meet you all, my (user)name is Twin Judge of Gemini, and welcome to this small topic where I post my small story on. Thank you for wasting your time to read this short and new story I managed to rack my brain to write full of grammatical error as well, and I hope whoever reading this can either give me their support and critic for me to make this story better Moving on, I don't own Pokemon Reborn, Ame own them(I know that everyone know this, but disclaimer is a must), and I thank Dobby for his support. The fact that he is the one that inspire me to write this story is even more, so thank you again Dobby for supporting me and giving me this idea Also, this story take place around decade before Pokemon Reborn start, so Reborn is not as messed up as it is currently, and it will be lighter than the generally dark story of Reborn(until it goes downhill anyway). Some Gym Leader(sadly) need to be an OC, so forgive me from doing this as this is the only road I can go beside ass pulling myself so hard I make something crazy like Noel being the gym leader before he is born For whoever that interested, I am in need of someone to correct my grammar(which is like the worst thing you'll probably ever read, brain bleach yourself if you think your eye's scarred), so please PM me Again, if you were so kind, please give me your review and critic, that will help me out a lot Thank you, Twin Judge of Gemini P.S: this message is almost as long as the fic, great job me :v
  16. "You know, It’s okay to cry-" "I’m not crying." White teeth were clenched as he emphasized on the middle word. Stifling a growl that basically rumbled inside his throat, Silver looked away, hopefully to drown away the agonizing pain that shot every inch of his bandaged wrist. Lyra bit back the urge to smile as she saw his trembling mouth. Truly she sometimes marveled at how stubborn he could be. Directing her focus back at the white bandaged, she carefully tugged his right hand closer. Feeling that he was being pulled forward, Silver looked at the petite brunette. And before he could utter a word, the redhead instead popped a silent gasp to see and feel her lips brush the back of his hand. "You’re so stubborn sometimes." The bashful murmur caressed the back of his hand, drawing shivers right down his body. Hiding the huge grin, Lyra pressed another chaste kiss before finally bubbling a single laugh. Each air that he breathed felt like smoke as he kept his eyes on her. "NO- I-I’m not!-" -END- //feedback is very much appreciated!//
  17. #151: Mew ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Arceus created the world, it is said that the very first Pokemon He created is the Dimensional trio, Palkia, Dialga and Giratina That is both false and true, as while He did created those Pokemon to create the world, the actual first Pokemon He have made is Mew. It is through the note left by the scientist on Pokemon Mansion that we managed to learn that every Pokemon, from a mere Ratata to even the old preserved DNA in the ruin of Him, Arceus, have at least one single DNA identical to that of Mew. Scientist have long tried to create Mew themselves, from extracting the little bit of DNA and mix them together, and even capture Mew by the help of the former Kanto Champion, Giovanni, learning and taking the very Cell of the Ancestor of Pokemon. The first one create the failed experiment known as Ditto, a God and Nothing on its own right, which have reside in this very world, vast of Pokemon and enjoying itself But the latter, have created another Mew, yet so twisted by its own creation, made it into something else. Its name is Mewtwo, and it have learn peace from the help of a young boy with his Pikachu, helped by the Origin of its creation. The very place of Mew is unknown for now, as the very war of both the Original and Copy have split their part Rumors have said that Mew is spotted in the Region I'm currently heading, Reborn ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18. Welcome to the future. A dystopian world, ruled by power. A land of darkness, ruled over by a flawed Goddess. A group of fighters, working against her. Are you willing to join them? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, let me begin by welcoming you to this RP. It is the first one I am hosting, and I hope to live up to whatever expectations you may hold. So. This RP takes place in a Dystopian world where one woman has seized ultimate power. Please read the following mission brief. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things to note about this RP: 1) I will not be participating. I will be playing the role of the NPC, that is, all characters not controlled by RPers. I will provide mission briefs and I will outline story events. 2) This is not a wholly freeform RP. I will dictate what events occur and what goals must be accomplish, and these goals must be accomplished. What you do to achieve the goals, though, is entirely up to you. 3) This is not a solo RP. You will be expected to interact with your fellow RPers to achieve results. 4) This RP will be run by 2 mods: Myself as well as Kaito. 5) For the purpose of this RP, you will be allowed only one Pokemon until the storyteller (AKA me) indicates otherwise. That said, the Pokemon can be any Pokemon you choose, barring legendaries or pseudo-legendaries. Furthermore, if another person has indicated his or her desired Pokemon before you, you may not choose that Pokemon. This is on a First come, First Served basis. 6) While there is no time limit for the events, if an event is taking too long, I will step in and intervene by imposing a "posts left" counter. Should the counter tick down to zero before the events are resolved, a bad end will be triggered. Following that, the option to retry the mission will be available; all RPers will edit their posts which relate to the mission to become blank posts, and the mission will restart from time zero. 7) This RP is rated 16+. Swearing is fine so long as you keep a certain 4-letter word out of it. Sexual implications or allusions are fine so long as you make them subtle and not overt. Gore and Violence is expected and encouraged. Homosexual overtones will be present later on, so if you're homophobic, don't come anywhere near this one. 8) Your character must like Whimsicotts. This is a requirement and is non-negotiable. (Okay not really. But Still. Whimsicotts <3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RECRUITMENT Joining the fight is simple. Leave the name of your OC in a reply here, along with a Pokemon you wish to use. RPers who join after the initial sign-up stage will enter the story as reinforcements. Roster: Name: Josh Elders. 19. Welcome to the OOC/ Sign-up thread for the RP "Surge Story" About the Inspiration for this RP: Now, before we go any further, allow me to make one thing very clear: This ain't pokemon, soldiers. Pokemon is a fantasy, Surge Story is a Science Fiction set in the 2060s and onward. Pokemon... is prettied up, tailored for the likings of young children, Surge Story is most DEFIANTLY not. Things in Surge Story are not sugar coated, they are not prettied up or censored, but instead raw and real, uncut and sometimes even surprisingly harsh at times. This... my friends, is NOT Pokemon anymore. Oh no, what we have here, lying before us, is instead Pokemon Reimagined, revisualized, taken from the realms of the fantastical to those of logic and hard reason. It is pokemon as it might be, if it were to ever exist in our world. But Surge Story is also a tale of war, the story of an American Military Officer, and the Squadron who served under him during the war to end all foreseeable wars... the war that would make America and it's allies the most powerful nations on the earth... the war that would decide who would go on to rule the global stage. The story of NATO, and it's final, heated battle... and it is also the story of the strange, mutated organisms who fought alongside these soldiers and their commanding officer, just as much as it is about them. The stage is set, the clock ticking, tensions rising... Kommaru Rising. The world's a powder keg... and the fuse is lit. That, Soldiers... is what this is. WE aren't pokemon anymore. we may share things in common, most notably the existence of strange creatures capable of far more destruction than any other weapon known to man. But we are done. There will be some events in this world, that of Surge and his men, far in the future that will hold some basic semblance to those described in Pokemon's games... but they will be heavily edited, altered, rationalized. they will be made real. You will find no 10 year old children running around taking on mobsters(Rocket) here, or Animal Rights terrorists (Plasma), or Eco Terrorists(Magma/Aqua)... oh no, such ridiculousness will not stand in this world. Things will be revised, reexamined, and won't be accepted until they actually make sense. The boy known as Red will not be a child, but instead perhaps a JDF agent under code name... and perhaps the boy known as "Black" will not be a teenager, but instead a young HS agent... who knows? All that matters is that this is our story now. not Gamefreak's, But our's, soldiers, and Our's alone. we will mold events as we shall see fit. And perhaps when we're finally done, we'll have something... worth being proud of. We are not bound by Gamefreak's mechanics here unless we agree that they make sense. otherwise, we shall use our own Prologue: A timeline of Events leading up to the story's beginning: Timeline of Story Events after the Exposition: The Rules on this RP: Signup template Major Personnel Files Matthew D. 20. Registrations are open! Two spots left! You are a Pokemon trainer and one of the few Poke-people left in the world. The poke-people are a rare "species" of humans with the power to merge with a pokemon they have formed a bond with, and use fairly advanced magic tapped from the magic energy that their bodies produce. Now, purebred poke-people are a rarity, and probably the only ones left are the ones to have survived the great battle with Team Shadow. The series of islands this place is located at are - or used to be - a pokemon paradise, where even legendaries frequent. And along with the islands, Team Shadow's true goals remain shrouded in mystery. Emerald, the village's leader, is now calling the scattered remains of her father's kingdom back, along with new recruits to defend against Team Shadow's rebirth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Miscellaneous info that you may or may not need to know..(will be updated in a few days) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rules~ (I know you hate them but they have to be made) 1.Please star out (at least one letter) cussing. 2.No overly violent/intimate posts. 3.No killing other characters, unless you have permission. 4.Please ask me before you let your character do anything possible plot-changing/get a legendary/kill a character. 5.No power playing/metagaming/bunnying/godmoding. 21. sign ups Chapter 1 ..At least that's what it was almost 100 years ago. Team Shadow destroyed two of the three villages, and nearly wiped the Pokepeople to extinction, their secondary goal. Emerald, the leader of the last village, has requested any and all trainers who have even a little pokepoeple blood to study at the Pokecademy, a school for the secrets of the pokepeople. chapter 2
