  1. Update! Turns out the Egg mod has some troubles with gifted eggs, despite the fact that the code I'm using is a literal copy of the one on the game. Don't know why this is happening, but for now that will be removed.
  2. I've updated the mod cuz I'm dumb and I was using Essentials v17 to make these, not Reborn itself (didn't know you could open the game up!). It shouldn't have messed anything up from what I've tested, but just in case. ALSO! I've added another file, ShinyEggsHaveExtraText (tm) (SEHET (tm) for short), following @Juke's awesome idea. It should alert you when you receive a shiny egg, whether it be from the daycare or a gift. Report any bugs you see, though hopefully there shouldn't be any.
  3. Only gifted. Imo it'd be a bit cheaty to reveal whether an egg is shiny, but I guess I could always just make another file for eggs and leave it at that. Maybe tomorrow :X

  5. I'm sitting here, just finished playing Rejuvenation, all bored because I don't have any more juicy pokémon games to play. I COULD start working on a Pokémon fangame like I've been wanting to for over a year, or I could finish my backlog of JRPGs, but I'm way too lazy to do that. But suddenly, inspiration strikes. Reborn! That's a juicy pokémon fangame, right? So, I sit on my computer chair, and with a few clicks of my mouse I download Reborn and all those nice mods, make a backup of my "main" save file... but something's not quite right. I've already played Reborn 4 times, I'm surely going to get bored quickly. I think, and think again, and then some more, all while drinking a nice cup of tea. Out of pure boredom, I start making my own character to play as (spriting's hard, y'all), and right as I finish, my brain clicks. What if I made one of those text-based nuzlocke playthroughs? I mean, it could work, right? So without further ado, I present thee: FlygonFreak's Awesome Reborn Shinylocke (kinda) First things first: The Rules 1. Standard, "casual" nuzlocke rules apply, unless the rules say otherwise. 2. As this is a shinylocke, I can only use shiny pokémon. 3. I can catch any shiny pokémon I find in the wild, but will only actively hunt for shinies once per "route" (I might break the hunt rule sometimes, but only if a gym leader/boss gives me a very hard time). 4. Gifted/event pokémon must also be shiny, and won't apply to the "one per route" rule. This applies to eggs too, but I can only breed them with a (shiny) Ditto. 5. I must win every single battle, including optional ones, but I'll allow myself a "test" run before gym leaders/bosses to try out strategies and stuff. These won't count, and even if I win I'll have to re-do them. 6. The Gauntlet will be the only exception to the usual nuzlocke rules. It's too hard for me. Sorry. 7. If I lose the nuzlocke (aka get wiped out), I'll either keep going or just remove the "-locke" part of the run. I'll decide when that happens. 8. I'll use both Rare Candies and Max Revives as "resurrection tokens". If I reeeally want/need to use a mon, I'll allow myself to use one of these items. (I think it's fair, considering the price of Rare Candies and that Max revives can't be bought) I know some of these break what a nuzlocke is, but, honestly, if I'm doing this I want to have fun. and that means I don't want to be stressed out or smth. Chapter 0: A Series Of Unfortunate Events, or: Probably the only bit with actual story ((Don't worry, I won't make more stories like this one, I just wanted to stretch my writing muscles a bit and also give an "explanation" to why this weird blue boi is stuck on a gloomy place like Reborn)) Chapter 1: The Struggle Of Finding A Suitable Partner So, I've got a small surprise. This ain't gonna be one of those LAME shinylockes, NO. This is gonna be a FUN shinylocke. That means R A N D O M S T A R T E R. Originally I wanted to use a Kartana (I have a custom shiny for it and everything, my precious origami boi), but he was too stronk. There's a catch, though. Besides being shiny (which means I need to first get a shiny starter), I'll only allow pokémon that a) aren't starters b) can evolve c) aren't too op/big event pokémon I'm supposed to get in the future (Ralts, Riolu, Poipole/whatever) and d) can beat both Veronica AND Cain. This is to ensure the starter isn't too OP or weak, and that I can actually do something with it. To randomize the starter I'll use one of these bad bois. There's a mod there that allows you to randomize your starter, which imo is better than using debug. So, first thing first, the poor mon that is getting randomized is... This awesome lad! I usually choose Chimchar cuz he's a beautiful boi, so it seemed fitting. And now, time for the runner ups. These are the starters that got chosen but didn't make it through Cain and Veronica's grinder (usually due to typing or stats) Kinda sad, because they all seemed pretty cool. Specially Morelull, I've never used one. But enough sad, time for the winner... DRUM ROLL This fella! Coal the kitty, a very talented albeit kinda boring lad. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to use something more... I don't know, cool, but he's a cutie so who cares. And that's the end of the first chapter! The next one will be up to (but not including) Julia's gym, though I don't know when I'll actually make it. Hope you liked this! PS: Fuck this guy, and fuck his useless fish. If I ever get that far, trust me, I won't bother shiny hunting it.

I had the idea to try and make a full spritesheet to add a custom trainer to Reborn, ended up wasting a day and a half on it :x ((hope it's okay, but I used some of the original player sprites as reference. Mainly with the small sprites, they're a pain to make)) They look kinda wonky, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, considering they're my first "serious" pixel-art project. I also made a custom Kartana shiny, cuz I'm going to do a run with this character and Kartana as a starter. May be op, I know, but I love my origami boi. EDIT: this was a mistake, my precious paper boi is too strong. So sad I won't be able to use the sprite :< Any tips on how I could improve the trainer's overworld sprite? I'd post the rest but I don't wat to clutter this too much.

So, I've been digging through the audio files because some of the themes are a w e s o m e, but only a few have the song's title (and some of those are in japanese, which I can't exactly type/copy). Is there a big youtube playlist with everything? If not, could I ask for the names of a few specific songs?
  8. A bunch of buildings in GDC completely lack tile collisions, mostly in the Residential District/Main Street/that place with the café. Also, there's a weird bug where, if a Pokémon uses Wish, the game will skip the animation completely, cut to your turn, and next turn it will play the "X used Wish!" scene again, heal, then do it again for the new move. Finally, I've noticed some really weird things with the battle terrains. Sometimes the opponent's pokémon won't attack at all, giving you basically endless free turns. I don't recall exact examples, sorry, but I do remember it happening with a Florges on the Dragon's Den terrain.
  9. Okay, I know this might sound dumb, and it might be intentional, but every single trainer I fight with seems to, for some bizarre reason, be able to predict which ability my pokémon have. For example, I'm fighting the Electric type gym leader, and he kept sweeping my team by spamming that annoying special move, even when I had my Motor Drive Zebstrika out. So I think, hey, Jan said to use a pokémon with Lightningrod, right? Use a couple ability capsules, now my Zebstrika has Lightningrod. Take out Frosslass and Zebstrika, like the previous 10 times, expecting him to spam the special move like the previous 10 times, but he seems to be onto me, so he instead spams Surf. I've seen it happen before, with abilities like Volt Absorb or Flash Fire. Is it intentional? If so, why even recommend using Lightningrod?
  10. I'm testing the pack (kinda, I can't test stuff like the egg/pickup/mining mods right now) and most mods work perfectly. I've only noticed problems with the Unreal Time mod, there's no clock and no option to change the time (though, that might be intentional, not sure). Also, the game feels a bit laggier, but that might just be bad luck? Uhhh, hopefully this helps : >

I've got a few dev-related questions, hopefully they're not too many/too boring for y'all : > (( and I also hope no one's asked these before, if so, sorry : < )) 1) How long have you been working on Rejuvenation, roughly? 2) How hard is it to optimize RPGMaker so the game doesn't lag too hard? 3) Rejuvenation feels like a very big project, so how do you manage to stay focused while making it? Have you ever had to take long breaks to recharge dem inspiration batteries? PS: thanks for making such an awesome game!
  12. I think I've found a couple of bugs... First, with NoTMXNeeded installed, opening and closing the Fly map from the "Use TMX" option (without flying anywhere) crashes my game with this error (and only from that option, using Fly like normal doesn't crash) And when using the ShowStatBoosts mod, sometimes (I haven't been able to reproduce it consistently, sorry) certain moves and stat changes will freeze the battle after your turn is over, and then give you an "extra" turn (for example, if you defeat a poké and the battle freezes, the sprite will still be there, the HP bar will be depleted and using any moves return the "But there was no target!" message, after which the battle will end). Other times the game will just crash (error log below) Hope this helped!
