  1. I think getting Flame/Toxic Orb and statusing yourself with them in a wild battle is the best strat. If you get badly poisoned it turns into regular poison after a battle. You're just gonna have to be careful to not travel too much while poisoned because it will damage you and eventually go away.
  2. Started playing this game since the new version dropped, just passed Silver Rise and it looks pretty good so far. Gyms have been challenging to the point where I have to level and think a little to beat them but not overwhelmingly difficult. I like the characters and the story is pretty interesting so far. Anyways, two questions: Is there any way to change a pokemon's ability (like ability capsule in reborn and rejuv) and where is the name rater? Edit: Found ability capsules
  3. The event that has a 1 in 18 chance of giving you Togepi is determined when you start your playthrough so you can't soft reset for it. This is also the case for the event with Grubbin is early but it's a 1 in 2 chance to get it otherwise you'll get it around the same point of the game you get Goomy at. Your team looks pretty good other than the fact that you get a lot of them later in the game. Once you get access to the move tutor you'll probably want to get your Blaziken to remember Flare Blitz and Hi Jump Kick as they are much stronger than Fire Punch and Brick Break. Swords Dance isn't available yet but you get Bulk Up through levelling.
  4. I've used Greninja just about every playthrough of Reborn and while it's good it's not Blaziken good. It actually has a nice earlygame with Protean. A lot of Pokemon use normal type moves which it can avoid with lick. It really struggles midgame right after evolving into Greninja because none of its moves hit hard enough until it gets extrasensory. Then it gets hydro pump icy wind, dark pulse and a lot of other moves that make it the second best starter. I think Serperior is the third best. Sure it sucks that it doesn't get leaf storm until a higher level but it's not all bad without it. It's reasonably bulky and fast so I like doing one of two things before learning leaf storm: coil set with leaf blade slam strength coil and leech seed or use a subseed set with giga drain substitute leech seed and hidden power. You need to not have contrary for the first one but that's fine, you can find an ability capsule right at the start and there's at least a couple more before you would get to the point of having to change it back for leaf storm. After it gets leaf storm its insane but we all know that. So imo Gren can go down to A+ for its poor midgame, Serp can go to A+ for having a managable early and midgame while being one of the best lategame starters. I also think that Typlosion and Venusaur can go up a tier. I was going to suggest Feraligatr to move up but it gets its first physical water move at level 63 so yeah, just remembered why I don't use it. Other than that I think the tier list is pretty accurate.
  5. You can go back to Reborn City and evolve your Piloswine into Mamoswine if you found the key to the move relearner's house in the Onyx Ward. The key is in If you need heart scales you can find them on Luvdisc which you can find in the lake outside of the mansion with a Good Rod. I suggest using one for Piloswine so it can relearn Ancient Power and evolve and using the other two on Blaziken so it can relearn Hi Jump Kick and Flare Blitz. Magneton would be better off with Discharge and Flash Cannon too. Try to keep Golem healthy, it should be able to take a move from Chandelure with Sturdy and kill it with Earthquake.
  6. So I just beat the Puppet Master and went to Route 9 and after all the dialogue in Rose Theatre I went back to the train only to be taken to Grand Dream Stadium, can't go back to Route 9 or GDC from the train at the stadium. The left door of the train on Route 9 takes me back to Grand Dream Station, it's only the right door that's bugged. I also tried using Teleport after the dialogue (and Madelis cutscene in Hospital of Hope) and it teleported me in front of the hospital that should also be inaccessible at this point.
  7. Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos could roam like in X snd Y, where they just autorun and you don't have a chance to throw a ball, and then end up on Ametrine, Pyrous, Shade's power plant respectively In Red/Blue Rescue Team. In that game Mew was in a 99 floor dungeon and it would transform into other pokemon so you didn't know which one was Mew. So maybe you find it under a random train and then it roams while hidden as another Pokemon. Regirock in a cave in the desert, Regice in Citrine or in a cave on Ametrine Mountain makes sense. Not sure where Registeel would go, maybe the depths of Tanzan? In Emerald after you beat the game you could find caves/dive spots on random routes that were caused by Kyogre and Groudon. Whenever they were on a route there would be harsh sunlight/rain too. Maybe they find eachother and start fighting. That could lead to you having to find Rayquaza, who could maybe be on the summit of Charous Mountain, pretty sure it's the tallest in Reborn. Uxie, Mespirit and Azelf I could see being in a quest related to Eve, Lumi, and Zero.
  8. I wouldn't mind seeing Deino or Goomy moved to earlier in the game. Deino fully evolves at level 64, by the time you're this level you're already quite a ways into the game, iirc the badge you need to go up to 65 is Luna's. I think a cool spot to find Deino would be some type of event in Beryl Cave. Sounds really early for it but if someone really wanted a good dragon type they could just go for Trapinch. It fully evolves before Deino evolves once and has a much better level up movepool if you keep Trapinch unevolved long enough. Goodra is not nearly as good as anything else you can obtain at the point of the game it's at. If Goomy was obtainable somehow on Azurine Island I doubt it would break the game or anything either. The one thing that I could see being difficult for these events would be making them challenging enough that early in the game. They shouldn't just be handed to you or anything but it's not like there can be a huge challenge near the beginning of the game. That would make it too restrictive on the type of team you need if you want it. It would also be hard hiding the events, the areas are fairly straightforward at this part of the game with minimal amounts of exploration able to be done. As for the rest of the psuedos, they're obviously not very good until they fully evolve, but when they do they're stupid good. That's fine in normal Pokemon games where you end the game around level 50 - 60ish but in Reborn you're not even halfway through the game at that point. Going through the game with Garchomp or Tyranitar (possible with mystery egg) would be insane.
  9. Save, walk a step, save again, realize I'm off center compared to my surroundings, save. "Did I save?" Saves again just to make sure.
  10. Anything with telepathy gets its speed doubled. So their Oranguru and Gardevoir are super fast
  11. As intriguing as the idea sounds I would be opposed to it too for a couple of reasons. Pokemon has been powercreeping for a while. They do give the odd few pokemon the buff they really need to be useful (eg. various stat buffs like Mantine and added abilities like Pelipper) but most often they leave Pokemon to die in obscurity. This is leading to my second reason. I doubt that only Pokemon that truly need the buffs (eg. Ledian, Chimecho, Castform) would be the only ones to get them. It would be the same as Mega Evolutions, sure, some Pokemon that need them get it but fan favourites get it too. Did Pokemon like Scizor, Salamence and Metagross need mega evolutions? No, but Gamefreak knew they would appeal to the fans. My last point is more of a question than anything. What moves would be weak enough to have as support and basic moves? Basic moves are fair enough, could be anything except priority moves and Rapid Spin, maybe no moves that boost stats or have a high chance of causing status. How would support moves be determined though? A lot of passive effects could be very overpowered if applied when a Pokemon is sent out. Something as simple as the effects of Growl is one of the most valued abilities in VGC battling: Intimidate. I don't think any status move stronger than Growl (so just about anything) would be very balanced if it activated on switch in. In future generations, I think buffing Pokemon's base stat total and giving them new moves/abilities would be a better idea than introducing another new concept that may skew balance more than it fixes it.
  12. Never used it on a team before because I like Greninja so much. I didn't really care about it before but looking over its stats and moveset it actually looks pretty cool. Just above the 100 base speed that everything has and it has a decent special attack stat. I just feel like it should've got more special attacks. Focus Blast/Aura Sphere or Thunderbolt would've been nice and would've complimented its magician style while giving it essential coverage. I'm surprised it didn't get Energy Ball but at least it gets Grass Knot (which gets 160 power with Grassium Z ). For higher level battling I think Magician is lackluster because even if you survive a hit and steal an item you will be hitting less hard for that one turn. Delphox probably won't be lasting that many turns so it needs the power boost from its item. Additionally, choice items are fairly common and if it steals one, especially a Choice Band, Magician can be a hindrance. I've always though its appearance looked a bit awkward but the fanart people have been posting redeemed it for me.

  16. Both fire users are really healthy with the better one slightly behind, lots of people like Cal though so he's not gonna die anytime soon. 17. Most of the type changes make sense but I don't think typing alone hold a lot of Pokemon back. It's usually a bad set of abilities and/or bad base stats and/or a bad moveset. A lot of the type changes that were weird were already said above but there's still a few I would change: Wartortle - Why Fighting? Beedrill and Mega Beedrill - I don't think Flying is unsuitable but I think Poison is fine on it. We already have lots of Bug/Flying types and one's already a physically attacking mega. Mega Pidgeot - Taking Normal type from it is more of a nerf than anything. Right now it can switch into Ghost type moves and run Hyper Beam to get a surprise one hit on an Electric type. Venemoth - Same as Beedrill, I think it's better as a Poison type. Primeape - Why Dragon? Golem - I think ground helps it more than it hurts it. It may give it two 4x weaknesses but it also gives it an important ground STAB. Taking ground type from it without significant buffs would make it a worse version of Gigalith without Sand Stream. Rapidash - Why Electric? Cloyster - This typing completely changes the Pokemon. Ice is its best STAB as it grants it STAB Icicle Spear with Skill Link. It would likely start using sets with Spikes/Toxic Spikes/Rapid Spin. Mega Gengar - Why change it to only Ghost? Kabuto and Kabutops - Why change it? Rock makes more sense than Ice for Kabuto and claws ≠ steel. Shuckle - Makes more sense for it to be Rock and Bug/Rock is a better defensive typing. Being weak to Water/Steel/Rock is better than being weak to Water/Fire/Ice/Flying. Dustox - Another unnecessary Bug/Flying. Swellow - This is actually a nerf, it currently uses Specs Boomburst a lot. Also, I feel like Fighting fits better on Staraptor than Swellow. Gorebyss - It looks kind of like a Fairy but I think it could be a Psychic type. Works either way. As much as I hate Steel types I really like the Sceptile changes. I always wanted Sceptile to be a physical attacker and although the Steel type is a stretch it really helps it, especially on Unburden sets. Other than those few I'd say the type changes are pretty solid. A few other things though: - A lot of Pokemon have changed to Steel type. Steel as a type is very good (I rate it as the top type but others may argue that Dragon or Fairy hold that place). I'd be careful giving Steel to so many Pokemon. - Some buffs are completely unnecessary, Clefable getting boosted from 95/70/90 bulk to 113/80/90 bulk is not okay. It's already a very good Pokemon in OverUsed. - It would be helpful if you highlighted what Pokemon you changed and show what changed (eg. for Clefable put 95 -> 113 in the hp box).

  19. So I’m really bad at talking to people, both starting and continuing a conversation. Most of the time I just don’t but there’s times I really want to or have to. Whenever I go to talk to someone, whether it’s in person, on the phone or even text based I spend way too much time thinking over what to say or how to say it. Does anyone have any strategies for this?
