  1. I don’t know what Game Mythra/Pyra are representing in Smash, but it sure ain’t Xenoblade 2.

    I’m not mad, just disappointed.

I feel like everyone has a reason to be mad, but most are doing so for the wrong reasons. I’m not mad about another Anime Sword Fighter, I just think that the recent Smash Reveal is a complete misrepresentation of Xenoblade 2.

  2. I didn’t realize this existed. I just sort of... gave up? But it’s continuing, so I’m playing.
  3. The most recent Call of Duty game is more ambitious than Pokemon Sword and Shield.

I can't believe I just said that. But its true.

    1. Ojama Yellow

      Ojama Yellow

even i wouldnt go that far

  4. It's more like the Dream that happens is a memory of the past. But the choices that affect the story are basically because you are the one telling it, the way you saw everything. It's a product of your possibly inaccurate memory and your desire to see what you want to see.
  5. Pokémon created by Monolith Soft and directed by Tetsuya Takahashi....

Now I’m in love with the Idea.

  6. Sometimes I don’t get whether Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is supposed to be funny or not.

    1. Sayaman

      Sayaman

I would say that's part of the charm.

  7. I don't think that the Divergent Book series is good.

I don't like any of the characters, and the Worldbuilding is really poorly thought out.

I guess the first one was... semi decent, I guess? But Insurgent and Allegiant are horrifically boring.

This series seemed like it was trying to ride the coattails of Hunger Games. But It failed really badly. Except for the fact that It sold. It sold very well.

You are completely right to have that opinion, the premise was interesting enough for me to slog through the first book, but halfway through the mind-numbing second book I went through an epiphany, "Why am I still reading this?" I never picked up the serious after that.

i liked the worldbuilding from the first two books, personally. i was looking forward to what the big reveal and the endgame would be, but fucking fuck.

i guess it made sense in a worldbuilding sense but that still doesnt take away the fact that reading through 200-or-so pages felt like an absolute drag. ill give it credit for its ending which i definitely didnt expect, but other than that allegiant was painfully boring.

still like the first two books tho.

Detergent, Insurance, Allergic seem like better book titles.

  8. In terms of general fictional works, Video Games are generally better for Worldbuilding than Books or Movies.

The main reason for this is that Video Games can allow the player to explore their surroundings as they wish. A Book and a Movie are usually one straight line of story. As a result, in a Book or Movie, Worldbuilding often has to be integrated within the actual story, rather than through notes and books scattered about in a Video Game. In a video game, its really the player's choice whether they want to learn about the world or not.

But even then, I do expect a Book or Movie to have proper worldbuilding, even if it can't be the most detailed due to having to balance that with an actual plot.

  9. So, Do I have to play Ace Attorney Investigations 1 in order to understand Ace Attorney Investigations 2?

I hear that that particular game is lame. 1, i mean. 2 is actually considered great.

    1. AenaonDusky

      AenaonDusky

Although you don't really have to play AAI1 to understand AAI2, you might miss out on certain interconnected events, characters (and motives) and parts of lore. AAI1 is not that bad really. It does have this aura of "mediocrity" to it, but it still is a good game. Why not play both?

    2. Abyssreaper99

      Abyssreaper99

Querbus 'I have extraterrainal rights' Alba was the most annoying part of AAI

I always wanted to play as Miles Edgeworth. He's forever the coolest prosecutor in Ace Attorney. With the most character development.

  10. If Opening Week sales of Pokémon Sword and Shield exceed 300,000 in the U.S, I’ll write a Pokémon Reborn Fanfiction. Even though I often say fanfiction in a Negative Context.

Screenshot this and post this on my profile when the time comes. I’ll hold true to my word. Just give me a two week grace period.

    Spoiler

Or not, because nobody cares anyway.

  11. The way I see it, the fact that Pokémon Rejuvenation won’t feature Dynamaxing is a cause for celebration.

Thank you, Rejuv dev team, for electing to ignore it.

True, but at end of the day Rejuvenation is Jan's game, and it will always be Jan, Zumi, and the rest of Dev squad final decisions implicate something into their game.

    3. ShadeStrider

      ShadeStrider

Honestly, the reason I say this is... childish, really.

I don’t think Dynamaxing just doesn’t belong in Rejuvenation. I think that Dynamaxing doesn’t belong in Pokémon as a franchise. Any Fangame that elects to ignore it has my respect.

Making Pokémon Gigantic just goes against One of the points of a Pokémon, which is that the size of a Pokémon doesn’t really matter, and that Small Pokémon can fell large Pokémon. Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing completely go against that.

Remember when Pikachu felled Roark’s Onix, and Turtwig proceeded to do the same against Rampardos? Those moments were awesome.

Instead, apparently in order to fight a Dynamaxed mon, we have to Dynamax our own. Turning Pokémon into a battle between colossi is just... boring. Utterly, Utterly boring. Unless you use a cheeky, situational strategy like FEAR. But those strategies will be just that: Situational.

All it is is a three turn nuke that makes battles feel less epic with its existence.

    4. Des Teto

      Des Teto

I think it's a graphic issue too and mostly a time-consuming development risk.

If somebody were to implement Dynamixing in a fangame, I guess there would be giants sprites to do, like everyone of them. I don't think it will suit a fangame made in RPGmaker with his little screen. We could have tricks like the giant Steelix from.Reborn but good luck with all the others ^^

Plus, despise what's been shown so far, we don't know whether we'll like it or not. I didn't like Z-moves back then in the game (too slow) but ended up liking them in Showdown (they're fast. It helps).

So, let's assume it will be good gameplay-wise. Since it changes HP, it will work like Zygarde turning into Zygarde-Complete. A HP boost doesn't exist in Pokemon Essentials. So, you'll have to script every others pokemons.

Remember how time-consuming implementing Gen7 was? That's the order of magnitude we're dealing with.

  12. Phoenix Wright will never be in Smash.

    The Miracle never happen.

  13. Pokemon[] MyTeam = new Pokemon[6]; for (Pokemon p: MyTeam) { System.out.println(p); } Notice how there are no values currently in the Array that I defined.
  14. I'd also appreciate it if comments would describe a basic outline for the Story.
  15. Gamefreak hires you because Generation 8 wasn't the "Smashing Hit" they wanted it to be. You get all the time you need, and you have complete creative freedom. You can even delay the damn game if the Workload is too big. You don't even have to go with 3D graphics. Sprites are OK. Even a Style Reminiscent of Octopath Traveler would be nice. Restrictions: You have to have new Pokemon. You have to have a type and a few new moves. You have to have a new Region. But you don't have to worry about Merchandising and the Anime. Ignore those things. What do you do?
  16. Overwatch on the Switch came too late for me to care.

But I still don't like the way they are handling this release.

If the Switch isn't powerful to run Overwatch in 60 FPS because of the high Polygon count... Why can't they just downgrade the graphics? That would make the game more playable.

Because of this, Overwatch on the Switch isn't gonna be as enjoyable as it is on the PS4 or Xbox One. It probably could have if they went with game speed over graphics.

Sometimes 30 FPS is okay, like in Slow paced games like Metal Gear Solid 3 or Xenoblade Chronicles.

But when the game in question is extremely fast paced, like Overwatch or any Devil May Cry game, I think 60 FPS is a far more important goal.

  17. We did get that Naruto Runner though. Apart from that... Yeah, nothing too exciting. I would have liked to see some Aliens.
  18. As Characters, I like Amaria and Titania.

But as People, I hate both of them.

    1. doombotmecha

      doombotmecha

I think that's a super important distinction to make, in most things but especially in this game. So many characters have deep, touching arcs, despite being complete bastards to others in game. They aren't innocent by any means, but I applaud the clear, consistent writing that helps me figure out how they got there.

    2. Des Teto

      Des Teto

Yeah for instance, Light Yagami and L are good characters.

But they're jerks. I don't think a lot of people will stand them.

  19. Masahiro Sakurai forces you to choose between: Playing Pokémon Full Moon with your eyes pried open... Or work as an Employee for Electronic Arts. Which do you choose?
  20. My lord, don’t we have a policy against NSFW stuff?
  21. Well, I’ll be stuck inside with a Biology exam. So I won’t know at the time. Edit 9/20/2019 And it looks like today's the day.
  22. How many people will die tomorrow, mid Naruto run? How many people RSVPd? The U.S Government wouldn't be defending the place so hard if they didn't have secrets there, would they? Is Alien life a possibility? At least one of these questions will be answered tomorrow.
  23. Truth be told, I'm very uncomfortable with the topic of sex.

Everytime I make a sexually charged joke, I feel sick.

But their are just so many opportunities... I just can't help myself.

    1. IntSys

      IntSys

Maybe it's time to reflect upon yourself whether you're really uncomfortable with the topic of sex or not. Or perhaps there are situations where you'd be more comfortable with it than you realize.

  24. The Area 51 meme dies tommorrow.

Along with anyone who decides to go.
