  1. The last time I was on Route 2 I wondered the same thing and checked the bug section: multiple people listed Route 2's trees as bugged as only containing High Trees and 0 Low Trees
  2. I've seen somebody do it on Reddit a while ago... 1. Have a 252 HP/Def (+Def nature) Simisear Yawn Qwilfish turn 1, the AI proceeds to take it out in turn 2. 2. Choose Torchic as your starter, +252 Atk/Int adamant Blaziken now has a chane to set up. Reset until Qwilsifh is sleeping for 4 turns 3. Sweep her team at +4 with HJK/Poison Sweep For reference:
  3. As we're having access to the PBS file... She has a lvl 65, timid natured, perfect IV and EV trained Typhlosion. If I made no mistakes, its speed should be at 215.
  4. Could it be that the Pick Up-component isn't properly working? Maybe it was just bad luck, but when I first started my current run with one Pick Up mon in my team, as well as later on with 2 such mons in my team in which I did some 50ish battles, I never found any item. If I tried to run the original Scripts (without any mod) or just disabled the Pick Up mod resulted in me finding an item in literary my first battle. So, is PickupQOL bugged or did I just had terrible luck (I mean, 0,8^50 is basically 0%)?
  5. So far, I finished to Monoruns in Reborn: Grass and Fighting, with an Ice one ongoing, but as I modded a few mons in there, I'm not going to talk about it. In Grass, you probably want to train a lot of different mons. I started my run back in E16, so the game changed quite a bit (I think the AI improved as well, so walling Tangrowth with a Bulletproof Chespin might not be easily possibly) and with the addition of Gen VII, you have even more mons to choose from. Throughout my run, I probably trained 20 or more different mons to handle different situations, as I found it hard to use a small amount of members to cover everything (e.g. I needed different strategies to handle Charlotte, who turned out to be one of the easiest leaders for me, surprisingly, while Titania was by far the hardest). I think E18 content was the first instance I managed to beat everything with just one team (or I should rather say with 7 Pokemon, as I bred one mon with Wide Guard to keep my sanity against Hardy while setting up), of which three members are helpful throughout the game (in my case, Chesnaught, Roserade and Ludicolo (who I only started to use around Shelly, though, because I wanted Energy Ball in its movepool), but Whimsciscot would be a fourth member, if you get it via Mystery Egg/mod it in if you're unlucky). If I compare that with Fighting (started in E17, so slightly different experience), I had a rotation of maybe 10 or a bit more mons I used, with a relatively stable rotation after Samson ( of which only Charlotte gave me major problems/I had to differ in my strategy, funnily enough compared to my Grass run). I guess choose what ever Type to like/know something about (which I did with Grass) or use a type you want to experiment with (in my case, Fighting). If you plan a bit beforehand, I'm sure you'll be able to beat the game (e.g. I've seen people succeed in mono-steel and heard of people managing Water/Electric/Ghost). I found Grass fun and voted for it, but I imaging the rest is fun as well but I guess you need to be an early-game masochist to like Water/Steel lol Have fun in your run~
  6. Toxicroak (and I guess Heliolisk/others as well) with Dry Skin and an Elemental Seed heal a lot and can tank much of her Team. Throw in some Electric coverage (field boost) and you have a fairly easy Match. What @Yahen said helps too, but my Toxicroak walled her the last time I fought her.
  7. @haribob You don't need to beg to continue your adventure. If you don't do it, somebody else will free you. And about Garchomp... If my memory serves me right, somebody picked the Murkrow line. Which can have Perish Song as Egg move and Prankster as an ability. With this combination, pretty much every 1 Pokemon Boss is doomed. Garchomp should only be a challenge if you want to battle him without a cheesing strategy, but it's still something you could beat one way or the other.
  8. For me it's actually depending on the playthrough I'm doing. In an official game, I choose a team of 6 I want to use and build it, whereas in Reborn or other fangames I tend to build a larger roster and catch/train whatever I feel the need or urge to, without paying too much attention to coverage and the like (hell, I regularly encountered a type which could give my team major problems, even if it is just a coverage move). However, as I by now prefer to do a mono or differently themed run, I am forced to strategize to somehow cover my weaknesses (especially when using a type like Grass with its many weaknesses) or finding other strategies to overcome different situations. In my mono-Grass run I have a box of more or less trained mons I used throughout my run, with E18 probably being the first Episode I managed to beat with just a team of 6. This Team consisted of my starter Chesnaught (I like a stalling approach and it blocks physical attackers pretty well, as long as they don't have Flying coverage), Cradily (another tanky mon, good partner for my Ludicolo and its typing helps with coverage), Ludicolo (a typical Swift Swimmer who could help with my teams lacking Speed in rain, as well as dealing with Fire types), Roserade (paired with a Life Orb, Roserade became my hardest hitter), Rotom-M (T-Wave helps with crippling opponents and it could deal some damage, especially with better TMs being finally available) and Whimsicott (Prankster turns it into an amazing support mon, priority-Nature Power helps to abuse a lot of fields, or simply setting up Tailwind). This team obviously lacks physical offense (Chesnaught isn't really the hardest hitter if you use it as a physical Wall), but it worked out for me. I doubt those 6 will be able to deal with what E19 will throw at us, but I still have other mons I could use.
  9. At first, I thought to nominate Luxray (especially as Electric types were missing), but then my love for Ludicolo won
  10. Theoratically, you could chain breed Counter on an Axew, train it, max HP and hope that's enough (if you picked the Focus Sash, you should easily survive an attack). That's the easiest legitimate solution I can think of spontaneously
  11. With my two favourites (Gardevoir and Roserade) already taken, I guess I have to pick another one.
  12. Thanks~ @Jess I've seen your two runs and yes, Grass in doubles destroy her relatively easily in Community Release. Maybe in Public too if you have some Wide Guard support to prevent her Surf spam, I guess. So far, I haven't played through Zekrom route yet, so I only know it through other playthroughs. However, I think it is rather difficult to judge without knowing what's yet to come. The only real problem I have with Reshiram route is maybe the death of Taka- and not necessarily with the fact that he's dying, but rather the way it is performed. For me, it feels just so random that he is a Lin-in-disguise and killed rather along the way. The whole Amaria/Titania situation is probably a matter of taste, but let's just say I hope it gives some interesting scenes in the future and maybe still some happy ending; I mean, why should our relationship with Shade/Anna improve upon not fighting Taka in the WTC otherwise my hopes at least xD? And about Taka... While I would love to see him as some form of double agent, I'm a bit sceptical if he would really be one. While it's not necessarily likely to be so, I cannot get rid off the possibility that he should try to gain our trust and maybe feed us some false information etc. Then again, only future Episodes show the truth and I simply cannot say which route is better. For me, both have pros and cons (but before really judging Zekrom, I'd have to play it first I guess *cough*). Or maybe I take a too doubtful approach to the game? E.g. I sometimes feel like the only person (after reading some comments) who believes that our Rini could be another dimension's Lin (after I saw the prophecy Sidequest and read through a discussion on the forums) or Lin to begin with (if no other dimensions exist yay to first impressions).
  13. Time to update this run one more time before E18 comes out. As a new reminder, I completed this run in Community release, so the team differs from the one you'll see in Public release. With this out of the way, time for a rather short update. Normally, you can head directly to Amaria after defeating Titania, which could make sense in a real life scenario, given the situation and how Amaria is apparently in danger based on Lin's talk. However, there is a certain Sidequest you can complete. Let's just say we met Arclight and aquired a certain jewelry called Mega-Z-Ring. While Megas can be powerful, Mega-Abomasnow (the only currently available Mega for this run, I think) isn't too threatening, especially considering how Hardy and Saphira will most likely be able to counter Grass or Ice types and Abomasnow is probably dead as soon as they know a Fire type move. Z-move are an interesting feature, but as I so far lacked the motivation to really play much of Gen VII... guess helpful if you have the correct moves xD Anyways, as there isn't much I did otherwise, I headed to Amaria's Gym just to find her in a rather depressed manner. Of course, she is not willing to battle as immediately but goes swimming in her gym. Time to search her again and annoy her even more. Her mood worsens every time we meet her, until she decides to drown us. Yay to Reshiram route! From one of my facourite characters to a person I want to smack (at least in this route) within minutes! Titania saves us and upon waking up, is in the middle of a discussion with Amaria. If I remember correctly, Titania ends their relationship and Amaria isn't in the best mood when we finally face her~ VS Jetsam Amaria Doesn't she look nice? As I thought, not too difficult of a battle. Before taking notes about the battle, I already faced her once beforehand- with the same team, but as I did not take out Swampert immediately, it turned the field back to normal and increased the difficulty again, but Ludicolo could handle it nontheless (which was unused in this attempt). I guess her Water Surface wouldn't be too threatening in my case. Cradily cannot take damage from Water attacks, I could've used Nocturne /w Water Absorb, Rotom's Electro Ball would've been bossted as well (maybe I would've then used Discharge instead) and Swift Swim-Ludicolo works pretty well too. By changing the field into the Icy Field, she had at least a means to counter my Grass Types a bit more easily, turning her Ice Beam/Shard into something of a threat. While I do not know how difficult the double battle would've been, it might've been the easier option in Community release (I mean, half her team there is double weak to Grass, based on what I've seen). Anyways, with this we earn the 16th Badge and gain the TM for Scald- a move I might teach my Ludicolo instead of Surf. With this, E17 is concluded and I'll make sure to continue this run as soon as E18 comes out. Until next time~
  14. Yes, but I hoped that some of my faster mon would be able to outspeed it (which didn't work)
  15. Thanks. Yes, Amaria was much easier. And yes, as much as I love the combination of Aegislash with Sword Dance and Shadow Sneak, Titania puts it on a whole different level. Maybe a Normal type could work too (cause it cannot land Shadow Sneak), but this would require that it's not using King's Shield to relatively easily land another attack the turn after (something I do not want to try out for a while honestly xD). Or changing the field, as leaders pretty much rely on those to be a threat if A-Sandslash isn't outspeeding you with its tiny 65 Base Speed
  16. With E17 offering some new content, it is time to update this run. As a first remark, I played the community release, so some of the battles might differ from what you know via public release (however, it should be rather minimal, as far as I know). Anyways, heading into the desert quickly results in meeting an old face: Taka. He fears a certain female character, but ultimately battles us. VS Meteor Admin Taka Not too much of a challenge. If I remember correctly, I battled him twice (the battle I showed was the second try) which turned out to be the more interesting one (in the first, I had some nice luck with Ancient Power and my Cradily took out most of his team alone). However, Klefki was kinda annoying xD As I'm doing the Reshiram route in this save, I have the chance of travelling with Taka- which I do. Free healing is always nice and an ideal possibility to train my team (before, everyone was at lvl 79, afterwards at 82/83 when I was sick of using Repels). Anyways, the Desert is huge and I have probably missed a lot. In fact, I haven't explored most of the locations to begin with out of non-existing patience and generally made do with simply entering it and talking to Taka in order to gain the relationship points. Letting Mirage Tower appear was a pain in the ass, especially as I didn't really understood the puzzle (at some point, I activated one oasis and walked to the Tower until it appeared at some time). Welp, I guess I spent most of the time of E17 walking aimlessly throughout the desert. Anyways, after solving another puzzle, it's time to meet Buffalant Bill et al. After some time, it is time to enter Fairy Tale-Wonder land and after some more aimlessly walking, I somewhat managed to find a castle (honestly, when I re-enter this area in order to catch a Ferroseed, I almost immediately managed to find the stairway). Apparently, I found Tania's gym and talking to Adrienn result in a short information: her field + Aegislash = broken. In a nutshell. After battling some knights, we unfortunately do not meet our prince in a shining armor, but Lin. With an Alolan-Ninetales. We are knocked out, just to wake up in a bed in some tower. Some climbing later, we meet Taka and soon Titania, who appears to be ready to battle/kill Lin. I agree to trust her and now equipped with the Saphire Bracelets continue the journey. Just to run into a legendary Guardian. VS The Legendary Dragon Reshiram outspeed most of my team, one shoting them with either Dragon Pulse or Blue Flare, which resulted in a second try you can see above. After having some momentum via Tail Wind/Thunder Wave, a fairly easy battle. Soon after, Titania and Lin clash, with us being in between. I guess most of you know what's happening, so let's sum it up: Lin is not dying, but Taka. I guess you can think about Taka's death what you want, but for me it just feels... random? Anyways, Titania agrees to battle us. VS Guardian Exile Titania May I just say how utterly painful this battle was? Or let's just say painful until I used the right team- then, I managed to win within my first try (as both Cradily and Roserade were rather useless, I substituted those two with Sawsbuck and Cacturne). Previously, her team was just a hell for my run. Her Sandslash would either outspeed my mon and one shot it with Icicle Crash (the reason I equipped Sawsbuck with a Quick Claw) or if it could survive an attack, would first set up Aurora Veil to survive Chesnaught's Drain Punch and drastically reduce the damage I could dish out for a few turns, making the rest of the battle a pain. Mega-Scizor would set up one Sword Dance and use either Bullet Punch or Bug Bite to one shot everything. Klefki was another pain. Depending on the mon, it used a Thunder Wave or set up Calm Mind to basically one short everything with either Drain Kiss (negating any damage I could deal) or Flash Canon. Excadrill has a free kill, as you can guess? Empoleon was not too difficult, but could dish out quite a lot of damage with an accurate Blizzard, as I couldn't one shot it (basically one shoting most of my team, unless I changed the hail to rain, which made Scald painful). Aegislash... is just broken. Without Sucker Punch, it could tear through my team, especially as she loved to suddenly switch it in. Anyways, after a few unsuccesful tries (at some point, I stopped making and notes and just took the screen shots, so please bear with me, if I couldn't remember everything or missed some pictures), I managed to defeat Titania by developping a way to counter her mons somewhat. Maybe a magical Seed would've helped, but when I tried it, I still lost. Winning awards the 15th badge and the TM for Flash Canon, which isn't too useful in a Grass run. Apparently, Lin isn't dead as we soon learn and is heading towards Amaria. Guess who has to save the day yet another time? Eactly, the protagonist!
