Hey Everyone.

I'm replaying Reborn after my old hard drive died and I'm up to Shelly.....and I have no idea how to beat her.

Here is my current team:

Bayleef (Level 31) - Cut, Nature Power, Razor Leef, Magical Leef

Pansear (Level 34) - Bite, Flame Burst, Flame Blast, Aerobatics

Growlithe (Level 35) - Reversal, Flamethrower, Flame Burst, Close Combat

Kricketune (Level 35) - X-Scissor, Slash, Struggle Bug, Fury Cutter

Pachirisu (Level 35) - Spark, Sweet Kiss, Electro Ball, Thunder Wave

Graveler (Level 34) - Rock Blast, Smack Down, Bulldoze, Stealth Rock

Other higher level Pokemon I have used in the past include:

Noctowl (Level 35) - Confusion, Uproar, Reflect, Echoed Voice

Trubbish (Level 34) - Sludge Bomb, Take Down, Clear Smog, Toxic Spikes

Any help would be appreciated

As Mentioned. Shutting down Illumise is priority. The rest is doable.

Bayleef is near unusable for her gym. You should get something with Fakeout (Meowstic/Meowth are available) and as mentioned, something hard hitting to shut her down.

Growlith or Graveler should do the trick.

Stealth Rocks used to be very good for Shelly, they're still usefull but killing the Illumise is a must.

Could even go as far as getting a Drought Vulpix from the massage ladies helping you power up the damage even more + negating/cancelling the rain if and when it gets set up.

I thought Vulpix was obtained with a Stunfisk trade when you first get to Agate?? I don't remember the massage ladies ever offering me a Vulpix. then again I literally never get massages and only go there for the soothe bell

The massage place was the old location for Vulpix, before it was moved further in the game.  I believe it was a reference to Suzy (?) from the anime.

If you can get your hands on a Gardevoir or a good Fire Type or Fighting Type with GODLIKE speed you should be set.

Or a shuckle if you are really desperate. Trust me PEOPLE HAVE THEM YOU JUST NEED TO LOOK ONLINE.

Gardevoir is post-Shade and Shuckle is too... he would need to trade. Also he already won.

Shelly is the bug gym right?

Beat that one without any of my pokemon fainting, set the forest in fire and destroyed all those bugs.

Definitely easiest gym imho.

You were lucky, the forest took ages for me to set fire due to rain dance
